Emil froze for a few seconds before pulling away, his face glowing brighter red than ever before. He swallowed and looked away, not knowing that to say or do.
"Did you like my gift?" Leon asked.
Emil nodded slightly. "L-let's go home."
"Yeah."
Emil remained flustered throughout the walk home, still remembering the feel of Leon's lips on his own. Leon didn't talk to Emil either, also basking in the memory. He suspected it wouldn't ever happen again, for he believed that he was going to reveal his secret to Emil tonight. It was too hard to keep seeing Emil's emotions without knowing the real him, his real past and ways.
They arrived home to Lukas, sitting on the couch, staring at them with what could be could be interpreted as a hint of anger and annoyance. But, with his stoic expression, it was always hard to tell. "What did you do?"
Leon and Emil exchanged a glance before Emil responded, his face flushing red again. "We… went out for dinner… To my favorite place, nothing more."
Lukas's eyes narrowed. "You do realize you're a terrible liar, Emil. Tell me, now. What else did you do?"
Leon jutted in. "I kissed him. We're dating now."
Lukas's eyes widened as Emil glared angrily at Leon, who was laughing slightly. The other two, however, did not seem to think what he had said was particularly funny.
"If anything like that happens again, there will be punishment. For both of you."
Both of them nodded before Lukas stood up and went upstairs. There was another prolonged silence, interrupted by Leon. "I have something to tell you," he muttered, with a small amount of confidence, as he had rehearsed this many times.
"Great. What is it?"
"Come on, let's go to my room."
They walked up to Leon's room, Leon closing and locking the door. The words struggled at the edge of his throat. He didn't know if he could do it. Then, he felt Emil's hand on his cheek. "Leon, are you alright?"
"No as a matter of fact I am not alright at all considering what I'm about to tell you will probably make you hate me. Everyone else is all like noooo you lied we hate you now."
"Leon, I probably won't hate you. Unless you killed someone or something like that."
"Uh, well." This was it. There was no turning back from telling Emil now. "I'm transgender, Emil. I was born as a girl."
"Oh." Leon was silent, waiting for Emil to yell at him for not telling him sooner or telling him that it was wrong, or something like that. Emil stared back at him, formulating in his mind what to say "You realize that it doesn't matter to me, Leon. You're still you."
Leon looked back up at Emil right in the eyes. "It doesn't?"
"Of course not." At that, Leon embraced Emil in a hug, holding him close.
"Thanks."
Emil pushed Leon off of him and out of the hug, but Leon insisted on hugging him again. They sat there for a while, Leon smiling that finally someone had told them they accepted him for who he was. Whether Emil was just saying that, however, and was actually weirded out was another story, but Leon would take what he could get.
Emil eventually interrupted the silence. "It's late. We should get some sleep for tomorrow."
"Yeah."
They went off to bed, Leon sleeping soundly, but Emil stayed awake, his mind troubled.
And the next morning, while they were walking to school together, it may have been Leon's imagination, but Emil seemed to be just a little bit more distant from him than usual.
A/N - So, everyone who guessed Leon was trans was right. I thought I made that kind of clear since chapter one. Also, I'm sorry it's so short this time but I'm lazy and I'm working on my other fanfic (which will be done in like 3 weeks) so yeah. I'll probably update next week and stuff.
