The reason Leon and Emil were able to spend the time together that they did was because Lukas was out of the house. More specifically, he was at the house of his own boyfriend, a Dane named Matthias. Mathias was a loud, eccentric man who was constantly hugging Lukas from behind and placing kisses on his cheeks and other parts of his face whenever he came over. Emil usually didn't like people like Matthias, but he supposed he could make an exception, considering Matthias was nice to him, but not too nice, and would likely get married to Lukas as he often heard them talking about it, with increasing seriousness.
Lukas didn't come home the next morning, meaning that Emil could spend more time with Leon. They spent their time cuddling while playing video games, until Emil claimed that he was bored.
That was when Leon sighed and looked away slightly. "You know, there's something I've been wanting to tell you," he whispered.
"Yeah? What is it?" Emil responded, thinking about the last time Leon had said that.
"Well I was thinking you deserve to know my story and stuff and how I came out to everybody," he said, his voice gaining more confidence.
"Alright, sure."
Leon cleared his throat. It was clear he had been preparing this, whether having Emil specifically in mind, or just anyone he happened to get close to. "There was once a girl named... Jessica," he began. "She was born seventeen years ago, and was named by her mother, an English woman named Alice. Alice had, just recently, during the nine months while she was pregnant, divorced from her husband, Yao, who lived in Hong Kong. However, after four years of raising Jessica, Alice got very sick, and died, so Jessica grew up with her father, back in Hong Kong.
"Jessica grew up to be a beautiful girl, and she was probably the most popular in her grade. She had long, dark, hair which at first glance looked to be black, but was actually a rich brown. She refused to tie it down, as she claimed it looked amazing as it flowed around her waist, and it did. With her deep brown eyes, and makeup to make her eyelashes long and black, and her lips cherry red, she looked like a beauty from another world.
Leon was toying with his own hair as he talked, and Emil could see how it compared with his description of Jessica's hair, except shorter now.
"Not only was she beautiful, but intelligent too. She aced all of her classes with ease, and her favorite sight was the red 'A+' at the top of her paper. She would paint and draw beautiful scenery, getting her art hung on display around her school... Actually I might be lying about that. She couldn't do any art for her life I just wanted to make Jessica sound cooler.
"Anyway, the greatest of her talents was acting. She could immerse herself in any role, making it perfectly believable. People said they could see it in her eyes, the emotions of whatever character she happened to be playing as.
"Being the most beautiful girl in her school, all of the boys wanted to date her. She loved to play with them, and tended to be fickle in dating, constantly breaking up and dating many boys-
"Hold on," Emil interrupted. "You're telling me that you changed boyfriends. Should I be concerned?"
"Shut up and listen."
"Alright, fine, continue."
This time, when Leon continued, he was less serious, as if he hadn't prepared for this part. "Yeah she even dated a girl from time to time and made a few come out as lesbians or bisexual. Just trust me she was really hot and everyone loved her.
"But, Jessica had a secret, as all perfect people do, that she was not perfect at all. In fact, not that she let anyone know this, but she was awfully sad. Often, she would cry herself to sleep, because of her sadness. But, if she were to tell anyone, all they would say is tell her that she was perfect in every way and she had nothing to be sad about. She had told her father once before, and that had been his exact reaction.
"Soon, however, Jessica found out about transgender people, and she knew from that instant that it was perfect to describe herself. No. Himself at that point. After researching it a bit, he chose the name Leon, as it is the coolest name ever."
Leon paused his story, thinking for a second. "Hm, enough referring to myself in third person now." He continued, his voice barely above a whisper.
"And so I decided to talk to my current boyfriend at the time about it. I had been with him for a month by now, and I was starting to like him a lot romantically, as well as sexually... Yeah we may have done it a few times so sorry you're not taking my virginity, Emil."
Emil's face went red, and he was about to yell at Leon about how he didn't plan on giving his own virginity up quite yet, but stopped himself, only to cause him to flush more. "Go on..." He whispered.
With a smile, Leon did go on. "So I told him that I was actually a trans guy and his reaction made me immediately hate him. At first he didn't believe me and thought it was some sort of joke, but when I insisted, he laughed and talked about how he was completely straight and not gay at all. I punched him and stormed off.
"From that moment on, Jessica was no more. I cut off all my beautiful long hair, and styled it perfectly, as you can see. I was crying the whole time, and I knew that I couldn't go back now. I came out to my family the next morning, and they couldn't care less. My siblings gave me an odd look or two, and my father told me that it was fine with him as long as it didn't cost him any money or time.
"In my school, I told everybody, and immediately I became an outcast. Everybody refused to call me Leon, even teachers. They all still went by my old name, which I hated. They asked me why I gave everything up, and I told them that it was all an act, and that 'Jessica' was just a character I was playing, and it was part of why I was so good at acting, because I was always acting, but they scoffed at me and told me I was rediculous.
"But then I met you, Emil. And I may or may not have liked you ever since you sent that first picture of yourself in the mail. And you know, kissing you was different than kissing anyone else, even though I had done it a lot. It was harder, as if I had never kissed anyone before in the first place. You're a great guy, and I really like you a lot."
By now, Emil's face was even redder than it was before. He opened and closed his mouth a few times, trying to say something, but he wasn't sure what, or why it wouldn't come out. Instead, he snuggled closer to Leon, with nothing but the biggest smile on his face.
A/N - So I managed to get in a chapter between my vacation to Europe and my overnight camp, but there is no chance of updating until two weeks from now.
