The first snow of winter came late this year. Emil had explained that it was unusually warm this year, even though Leon felt although he was freezing to death whenever the temperature got into the negatives.

"Wake up, sleepyhead," Emil commanded, a sudden harsh light flooding Leon's room. He had decided from that moment that keeping his door unlocked that night was a bad idea. He cursed in Chinese, burying his face into his pillow. The next thing he knew, Emil's hand was on his shoulder, and it was shaking him. Hard.

Leon sat up in bed, his face still hidden in his hands to sheild his eyes from the piercing light. It was never this bright except during the morning right when he was woken up by someone else as opposed to his alarm clock. "Just let me sleep..." he moaned, flopping back into his bed.

Emil scowled, shaking him a bit more. "It snowed today," he explained as he leaned on the bed. "Not to mention, you're going to miss the little daylight we have in the winter here.

With a groan, Leon managed to sit up again. "What time even is it?"

Emil shrugged. "About half past nine. Sunrise."

"Fine, just let me get dressed."

Emil nodded, pecking Leon's nose before exiting the room.

Leon didn't understand morning people. Rubbing his eyes and yawning once again, he slipped on his clothes before heading downstairs where he saw Lukas enjoying a cup of coffee. "Want some?" He asked, holding out the coffee. "I can put butter in it."

"I'm a tea person, for the thousandth time," Leon stated bluntly, still not having adjusted to being awake.

"Your loss, but you should probably look out the window, city boy."

Leon looked away from Lukas. It was probably just some nonsense, knowing the man, and why the hell had he called him "city boy"? Where did that nickname come from, and why was Lukas choosing now to use it?

He understood as soon as he did as he asked and looked out the window.

Unlike what Leon knew of urban areas and the city, Emil's house was surrounded by forest, with a large backyard. Everything was cloaked in a white. It was shining, sparkling, one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen. The sunrise's colors only made it better as they reflected on the snow red and orange hues. The first snow of winter was always the best. "Holy shit," he whispered, staring out in awe at the raw beauty of nature.

"I see you like the snow." It was Emil, walking into the room.

"Woah…" was all that Leon could say in reply.

"You… you won't be saying that by next spring… assuming there is a spring."

He sat there for a few more minutes staring out the window, until Emil insisted that they go outside.

"By the way, you're going to need more than that red jacket of yours isn't going to be enough for the cold, but you can borrow some of my clothes."

Leon smiled, nodding as he borrowed what he needed to go outside from Emil, a blue, fluffy, winter jacket, gloves, snowpants, and boots. It was uncomfortable, and in the warmth of the house, he felt overheated, but Emil told him that was the bare minimum that he would need, putting on similar gear himself. Emil was the first to exit, the open door letting a gust of cold air hit Leon in the face. He shivered, preparing himself for the worst.

When Leon stepped outside, it was like nothing he had experienced before. The snow was up to his calves as he trudged out onto the lawn, making it near impossible to walk. The only part of his body that wasn't covered in clothing was his head, and he almost wished he hadn't rejected the hat Emil had offered him. The cold bit at his face, reddening his ears and giving him an almost burning sensation, even with the rest of his body warm.

Emil was obviously way more used to the snowy environment than he was, as Leon could clearly see him relaxed, even with the same amount of blood in his bare face and ears. He really looked cute like that, though with his pale skin reddened.

A cold gust of wind hit, the burning sensation in Leon's face intensifying. "My face is dying…" he complained, covering it with his hands to stop the wind from hitting.

"You'll get over it," Emil replied.

"Do you still have that hat?"

"Yeah." Emil dug into the pocket of the snow pants he was wearing and pulled out the hat, handing it to Leon. "I thought you might want it." Leon nodded and took the hat before flopping face first into the fluffy snow, sinking a bit into it.

He could hear Emil laugh slightly at him, and he rolled around in the snow, ignoring the cold as he enjoyed the soft fluffiness of it.

They played around in the snow for a while longer like children, making snowmen and snow angels, building forts and throwing snowballs at each other. Emil didn't appear to happy whenever Leon suggested a childish activity, but after Leon pointed out that it was his first time ever playing in the snow, Emil nodded and continued to do whatever he asked. When they didn't see Lukas's gaze through the window, they exchanged small cheek and lip pecks, giggling and hugging all the while.

Eventually, Leon and Emil trudged back inside, stripping off their wet clothes and putting on warm, dry ones. Lukas had prepared hot chocolate for both of them to drink, so they did, playing video games until later in the day.

That night (If seven o'clock counts as night), after the sun went down, Emil pointed out that the northern lights could be seen then, so they went outside to watch the dancing green auras, Leon completely enchanted by what he saw, and Emil happy to show him.

When Leon went to sleep around ten, there was a light snow falling.

In the middle of the night, Leon was waken up by his shoulder being shaken softly. Before opening his eyes, the first thing he heard was a loud thunder crack, and the hand on his shoulder froze. He opened his eyes to Emil with a scared expression on his face.

"Hn… wha?" he groaned, looking up at Emil.

"I… I couldn't s-sleep because of the storm…" he stuttered, looking at Leon rather desperately. "U-usually Lukas w-will help b-by holding me but I thought that tonight.. y-you could…"

It was too late at night for Leon to even think about Emil's proposal and do anything other than nod and open his arms, Emil climbing into them under the covers. Each time thunder rang out, Leon could feel him tense up, but each time less and less, until his breathing was steady.

With a smile and Emil's warm and soft body pressed up against his own, Leon couldn't help but drift off to sleep, happier than he had ever been before.

A/N: Who cares about plot and character development. I wanted to write a fluff chapter and since I'm the author and I have ultimate power over whatever happens in this universe and I could make Emil some sort of magical fantasy creature but you didn't know about it until now because I'm the author and I get to do what I want so I get to write a fluff chapter and no one can stop me

Enough about my ultimate god like writer powers... I'm probably gonna update about once a week or every two weeks because I just started school and I have no idea how much work I'm going to get

Ok one more thing I also apologize for not writing a smut scene at the "stripping off their wet clothes" part but that's because I can't write smut for my life and also it probably wouldn't fit in this story, you'll see why later but you're probably getting tired of reading my ridiculously long author's note so I'm just going to stop talking now. Author out.
