Emil wasn't sure how he did it. Leon was perfect. He had never seen him cry once, and even when distressed, he still kept himself calm. Maybe it was all just a facade, after all, Leon had said that he was an amazing actor. Emil, however, also tried to hide his emotions, not very well, but it was an attempt. Emil tried to put himself in the other boy's place, with everything he had described and everything he went through on the daily basis, yet alone Emil's own troubles on top of him. A surge of guilt shot through him as he realized this, he should start to take his problems into his own hands, not his boyfriend's, who had way more trouble in the first place.

Emil was snapped out of his chain of thought by an announcement through the loudspeaker to the entire school. "Will Leon Wang please report to the headmistress' office, I repeat, Leon Wang to the headmistress' office"

Emil tensed. See? More trouble to begin with.

Leon wasn't sure what he had done in order to get himself called to the headmistress' office, but hardly anyone went there without good reason. He was rather nervous when it came to talking with strangers, and considering he knew almost nothing about any of the kids there, he stood up quietly as he could and left the classroom, closing the door slowly and exhaling, trying to calm his nerves. He couldn't be like this, he had to remain calm, cool, so with a deep breath, he calmed his nerves, stopping himself from shaking, and making his way up to the headmistress' office.

He entered her office, opening the door quietly to make sure he wasn't causing some sort of disturbance. Of course, he wasn't, and the headmistress let him in, and he took a seat in front of her desk.

"Um… hey."

The headmistress' eyes seemed to bore into him. "Hello, Leon, don't worry, you haven't done anything wrong. I came to talk to you about something else." Leon sighed, letting the tension inside of him be released. "How are you today?"

"Alright…" He hated small talk. All it did was make him uncomfortable with no point. "You?"

"I'm very well, thank you. Anyway, the reason I called you here today is because of the upcoming trip to Norway during the spring. You all are going to be staying in a hotel room. Usually, we would put you in a room with three random other students, but we also know about how you are transgender, and we don't know if you would feel comfortable with just any other students."

More tension was released from Leon. He had been worrying about that. "Um… well… my only really good friend is Emil."

"That's it? No one else you would be comfortable around?"

"Nope."

The headmistress nodded, furrowing her brow in thought. "Well, we were going to have you with three other students who you feel comfortable around, but clearly that is not the case… Perhaps we could put you with one of the volunteers who are coming on the trip with us." Leon nodded.

"So, anything happen today?" Leon asked Emil, taking a step up onto the sidewalk, Emil quickly following.

"No."

That was odd. Usually, he would tell him something about his day or how these idiots in math class wouldn't shut up about some popular sports icon or how someone accidentally exploded something in their face in his chemistry class. Whatever it was, there was always something about Emil's day, a complaint or how he had way too much homework, but it was never just 'no'. "Really, there had to be something," Leon said.

Emil glanced away, shrugging his shoulders. "Nothing interesting. Um, you got called to the office, didn't you?"

Leon went with the subject change. "Yeah, it was about the Norway trip and how we'll be staying at hotels and the headmistress wanted to make sure that I was comfortable with everyone I'm rooming with because… ya know…"

"Yeah, what did you say?"

Leon slipped his hand into Emil's. "You're the only one I'm actually comfortable with in the school, and she told me that they'll probably put us with one of the volunteers coming one the trip."

"Oh? I think Lukas wanted to be one of the volunteers, something about how he's from Norway."

"Wait, if you two are brothers, doesn't that mean you are too?"

"Half brothers."

"Oh."

They walked back in silence, still hand in hand.
