Previous Chapter Summary:

Exhausted from his trip from the Underworld and enraged by Laito's story, Ayato went to look for Yui in order to simply kill her. But when he finally found her lying unconscious inside the bathtub, he did otherwise.

Night 9

"Near Tragedy in the Bathtub"

- Still in Yui's Bathroom -

Ayato woke up with a nagging pain tracing down his spine. Sleeping inside a bathtub wasn't pleasant, even for a vampire.

He groaned as he arched his neck backwards, stretching as far as possible to get rid of the strain. And when he felt a pleasant crack, he sighed with utter relief.

His head slowly shifted to absorb his surroundings and to figure out why he was sleeping in the bathtub in the first place. But when he remembered, he looked down and saw Yui who was comfortably settled on top of him.

He smirked. Yui was still sleeping. Her cheek laid comfortably against the nook of his neck while the rest of her body below her shoulders was entirely submerged under the soapy water. But although he could not see, Ayato felt her arms around his torso hugging him as if he were a pillow.

She would never do this when she's wide awake. She often seems to have the habit of running scared away from him. It thrills him when she does that, but peaceful moments such as this isn't so bad.

Slowly he placed a hand over Yui's forehead, remembering the terrible fever she had last night. He sighed again when he felt her temperature had gone back to normal. She was fine now. But he could not help but wonder as to what happened. He had left her long enough last night for his brothers to do strange things to her. The fever wasn't normal. One of his brothers might be the cause of it. The question is... which one?

"Tch!" Ayato was irked with the idea that one of them had toyed with Yui while he was away. More or less one of them might have taken a bite on her.

"Let's see..." he muttered softly.

In their current position, Ayato could only see her head down to her shoulders, and so he carefully shifted Yui's body to gain a better view. She's currently naked and luckily unconscious. He could search for new bite marks with ease and without needless retaliation.

While doing his examination, he mused with how soft and pale Yui's skin was. It was enough to tempt him to at least take a bite. But that did not concern him right now. He was more concerned on how flawless Yui's skin had been. The fresh marks he left on her body last night had already faded, and so was the other scars he had caused on her skin the previous nights. What's more odd is that even the deep knife scar she inflicted on her chest was completely gone.

Ayato felt very disturbed by this.

"Mmm..." Yui began to stir, and thus Ayato carefully placed her back to her usual position.

She continued to squirm against his body, uncomfortably reminding him that she was still a lady. She moved about, unconsciously searching for a good sleeping position. But then... she suddenly sat up and looked at him.

"Yo!" Ayato greeted, as he stared at Yui's dazed figure.

Her hair was a wet mess with a few strands sticking on her neck and cheeks. Her eyelids were open just a slit yet enough to get a sight of her doe-like pink orbs. Her lips were slightly parted, a thin line of saliva trailed down the corner of her mouth. Her neck down to her bosom looked enticingly beautiful as soap and water droplets adorned her pale and unblemished skin. The rest of her body was teasingly submerged under the hazy bath water, which in turn made Ayato want to drain the tub so he could bask his eyes with the entirity of her seductive nakedness.

'Damn...' was the only thought he could come up with.

"Ayato... kun..." Yui mumbled mindlessly as she inched closer towards him. "Five more minutes..." She trailed off before she wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned her body against him. Not a minute later, she dozed off.

'Shit.' Ayato mentally slapped himself. Yui's sudden actions had surprised him. He felt his heart throb faster than before. He had momentarily froze in place. Good thing she fell back to sleep or he would have had lost it.

Instinctively, he placed a hand over Yui's forehead. 'Perhaps her fever is back?' He tried convincing himself but now he wasn't so sure.

Yui had pressed all her frontal against his body. Ayato could feel her up without the use of his hands. He felt her soft round lumps on his chest as she inhaled, and the warmth of her breath against his neck as she exhaled. She had saddled herself on top of him, which made him feel a pleasing pressure placed nicely down there.

This was new to him- her initiation of touch. She would often prefer staying away from him so he'd normally force her to have a physical contact with him by tying her up or keeping her inside a cramped place. Rarely would she want to be near.

And thus, Yui who suddenly wants to touch him (even if she was unaware of this) was something... really exciting.

"You're cold." Yui murmured.

"Isn't that a given?"

"This feels nice..."

"What?"

"..."

"Hey?"

"..."

"Oi!"

"..."

"Sleep talking, huh? I'll drown you if you're faking it."

Ayato found himself back to the same situation, though a little bit flustered than before.

"Shit. I'm already getting thirsty."

With their current situation, Yui was too close for comfort. He could drink his fill with her blood but he decided otherwise. He still hasn't figured out what had happened to her during his absence. And so he laid there for awhile as he contemplated.

'Taking it from what Laito was babbling about, she was with Kanato and Reiji last night. If it's Kanato... the brat might have given her a candy from the underworld. In Reiji's case, he could have used her for his experiments. Those are all just theories but then Laito could also be a suspect. He might have popped a weird medicine into her mouth. But whatever case may be, whatever caused her fever, I better be cautious and abstain from drinking her blood. It might be contaminated with something. It could be lethal on my part.'

"ACHOO!"

"The fuck, woman!" Ayato was startled from his thoughts when Yui suddenly sneezed near his face. Parts of the release were still stuck on his cheek, so he immediately washed it out with the bath water.

It so happens that Yui still went back to sleeping after what she did, which then infuriated her bath companion.

And thus, Ayato did what he did best. Drowning her.

He pushed her away from him, letting Yui slide down to the the bottom of the tub. It wasn't long before she struggled to come back to the surface, and then the next thing she knew, she was holding onto the side of the tub, painfully coughing out the water that had entered her lungs.

She gasped for air until all senses came back to her. When she finally came to, she noticed that she was in the bathroom, apparently still in the bath, with Ayato.

"Ayato-kun!" she almost squeaked, noticing the latter who was lying shirtless on the opposite side.

"It's about time you wake up." he frowned.

"W-Wait, what are you doing here?" she panicked, as she did all she could to cover up her stark nakenedness. She opted to get a towel but it was way out of her reach. Her arms and legs were the only ones she could use.

Noticing her efforts, Ayato's sour mood was replaced by a much playful one. "It's too late for that. I saw too much already."

Yui opened her mouth to say something, but does not know how to place the words in order. The things that poured out of her mouth was some audible but uncomprehensible line of syllables.

"Don't speak words that Yours Truly cannot understand!" Ayato told her.

Yui could have laughed at his reaction but she was more concerned about her situation. She went silent for the moment, collecting the right words before speaking. "Uhm... Did you... Perhaps... I mean... Did we... Do something... Last night?"

"What? You mean sex?"

"Y-Yes."

Ayato frowned. "You were burning with a high fever. Why would I do that if you're too weak to even moan for me? And also, you fainted. You know very well that I don't do anything when you're asleep."

"Ah... That's true."

"But since you're already awake, so how about it?"

Yui turned pale at that statement. Her mind registered that it was probably time to get away from him. But as soon as she thought of what to do, Ayato had already grabbed hold of her.

He had placed her legs around his waist in a manner that she was sitting on him. Both her wrists were at her back, trapped there by Ayato's left hand, while his other grabbed a handful of Yui's hair so he could tug her head to his desired direction.

"I-Itai..." Yui whimpered.

To which, Ayato grinned.

"Ayato...kun... Please..."

"Please what?"

"Don't do this... I don't want this. Ah!" Yui felt a stinging pain on her scalp as Ayato tightened his grip on her hair.

"Wrong. I thought we've gone through this last night. Don't you remember, Chi-chi-na-shi?"

Yui froze when she noticed Ayato's eyes had gone darker- the same intensity as it was when he refused him last night. It reminded her of her punishment and the subsequent troubles it had caused her.

And so, she kept still.

"There we go." Ayato smiled in satisfaction. Yui had stopped squirming, making things a lot easier on his part. "Alright, let's do this thing all over. Now, what do you want? Yours Truly will gladly do it for you."

"A-ano..."

"Hm?" He teasingly traced the tip of his nose in between her breasts, seering a sensation that was new to Yui.

"Ayato-kun..." She almost moaned his name, exciting him all the more.

"Tell me how you'd want me to start." He whispered as he kissed her softly from neck up to the back of her ear. "I'll pleasure you so much that you would remember every detail. Confess all your secret desires to me. I'll grant it in a way that you'd always be reminded of Yours Truly even when the others touch you."

His words echoed dangerously inside her head. His voice sounded too seductive, slowly and surely melting the wall that hid her lustful sins. He always had a strange effect on her, luring her sweetly to submit to his wishes. She struggled against it, but it seemed inescapable. Because honestly, she badly wanted this too.

"Gently..." Yui shyly uttered her first request. "Kiss me... Gently..."

Ayato grinned against her ears. "Are you sure that's all?"

"Yes."

"Very well."

Slowly.

Teasingly.

Softly.

He planted kisses against her lips.

Lingering there for a long while before parting.

"More." She almost pleaded when she felt him move away.

"Hehe. You've become greedy."

"More..."

He mused at her now flushed face. She looked like she was about to cry and he found it unbearably arousing.

"Alright."

He tilted his head to kiss her again, also gently tugging at her hair so she would do the same. He traced his tongue between her lips, silently asking her to open her mouth, and when she willingly permitted, he slid his tongue inside to taste her.

Yui liked the way he was kissing her right now. Deep, hot, and painless. He'd usually bite her so he could taste her blood while they're making out. But this time, he simply kissed her as lovers do.

And she honestly wanted that sort.

"Weird." Ayato slowly inched away from her.

"Hm?"

"Didn't I wound your tongue last night?"

Yui didn't respond but she remembered.

"I couldn't taste even a small trace of that wound while I was kissing you. How could that be?" he locked a gaze into her eyes.

But she looked away.

"Chichinashi." he demanded, yet his voice remained uncanningly calm. "What were you doing with the others while I was away?"

"N-Nothing in particular."

"Laito said otherwise."

"Eh?"

"He asked you to go to his room."

"But I didn't!" she shook her head.

"And so you went to Reiji?"

"Uhm... Well... The wound on my tongue started bleeding so I had to..."

"You had to?" Ayato's voice suddenly turned low.

And Yui could feel his grip tighten around her wtists and hair. "H-He only gave me a potion to heal the wound, and then I left."

"Then how about Kanato?"

"He simply needed me to tend Teddie's arm. That's all."

Ayato fell silent for awhile, as if considering everything she had said. And when he calmed down, he released her.

"I'll let this go for now. I'll kill you if I found out you lied to me, understood?"

"Y-Yes." Yui nodded as she rubbed her wrists.

"Anyway, you told me Reiji gave you a potion?"

"Yes."

"If that's the case, it may be the one which caused your fever last night."

Yui blinked at that. "I had a fever last night?"

"Don't you remember?"

"No!"

"So you don't remember how you pleaded Yours Truly to hold you last night?"

Yui blushed. "T-That's not true!"

"Says the girl who just pleaded me to kiss her awhile ago."

Yui blushed all the more but she could not deny what he said. She merely pouted in return.

"Hahaha. I love that look. It's full of guilt."

"H-How rude!" Yui found herself getting flustered, so she splashed a handful of water on his face.

"Hey! Would you stop that!"

But Yui would not.

"Wait you!" Ayato quickly grabbed both her wrists and raised them above her head, subsequently stopping her assault. "Ah! You got water up my nose!"

Yui would have laughed at him, being able to at least get revenge. But when she stared at him, she was mesmerized. He really was eye-tempting. His wet messy hair framed his handsome face. She could not look away.

"Seriously, that's the last time I'd ever take care of an ungrateful sick child." he laughed. "Regardless, I think I should at least thank Reiji's potion. It also happened to remove all the scars on your body. I could add fresh new ones on the same places I've marked before."

"W-What do you mean by that?"

"Look." Ayato pointed at her chest, to where a big ugly scar used to be. "You stabbed yourself at this point, didn't you?"

Yui struggled to bend her head down since Ayato was still holding her up. And when she noticed, she was completely caught in surprise. "The scar's gone! Ayato-kun, I can finally join the girls' swimming lessons next week."

"Swimming lessons?"

"The P.E. Teacher at school told us that we would be having swimming lessons, starting on Monday. I was afraid that the people at school would notice the marks if I wore a bathing suit, but I don't have to worry anymore since the scars are gone. Reiji-san, sure is a genius- Kyaa!"

Ayato suddenly threw water on her face. Unsatisfied, he threw a few more until she was gasping for air.

"Ayato-kun!" Yui coughed. "Why would you do that?!"

"You've got guts praising somebody else when you're infront of me. Are you really asking for something really painful?" He responded, ice cold all of a sudden.

"I... I didn't mean to. It's just that... It's... ACHOO!" Yui suddenly sneezed, completely turning off Ayato.

"Why you..."

"Sorry! I'm really sorry." she panicked, knowing she did something really bad. And by the way he's glaring at her, she knew he'd do something nasty.

'SPLASH!'

For the second time ever since she woke up, Yui found herself drowning. Ayato had apparently pushed her away from him and got out of the bathtub as a response to her apology. Yui in turn fell entirely down into the water. She panicked but she was able to move her arms about until she had reached the edge of the tub. She painfully gasped for air as soon as she got back to the surface.

"What? You didn't drown?"

"Ayato!"

"You better get out of there before you catch a cold this time. Don't ask Yours Truly to take care of you when you get another fever." he picked up the towel on the floor and hung it around his shoulder before he walked out of the bathroom, leaving a trail of water as he did.

...while Yui stayed put, calming herself before she finally got a hold of what just happened. "I knew it. I better not be near water when Ayato is around."

- Hallway -

Reiji walked through, seemingly disturbed with something but still maintained a regal stance.

"What a nuisance. I didn't think I'd commit an error. No matter, I guess I'd have to check-up on that human."

He stopped infront of Yui's door, pausing for a moment and then knocked.

'TAP! TAP! TAP!'

"Komori Yui, I have a matter to talk with you about. Do permit me to enter your room."

He waited for a response, but nothing came.

"Is she not here?"

He stretched a hand to grab the knob, but the door came swinging open.

"Ah, it's you."

"Ayato? I see you're back from the castle." Reiji was a surprised to see his brother. He didn't expect him to open the door since this room wasn't his. But no matter what, Reiji remained composed.

"I was back before dawn."

"Is that so? I hope you didn't stir a problem when you were there. I'd hate to be the one fixing the mess you've caused."

"Tch! Even if I did cause a trouble, that person wouldn't have noticed yet."

"Hm..." Reiji then adjusted his glasses before he gave a look of distaste towards the other. "That aside. What are you doing in a lady's room, wearing only your pants and a towel around your neck? You're even soaking wet! The water's ruining the floor."

"Aaahhh, you're an old hag. Stop fussing about the smallest details." Ayato responded. "What did you come here for?"

"The human. Where is she?"

"AYATO-KUN!" Yui suddenly screamed inside the bathroom. "You took my towel. Please return it now."

"I'm using it!" Ayato shouted back.

"But... but I can't get out of here without wrapping myself."

"There's no need for that. I already saw you naked."

"Ayato!"

"Alright! Alright! Just use my coat and dress shirt. I removed them before I joined you in the bath. It's still probably on the floor." Ayato then turned to Reiji with a smirk, answering his previous question. "She's in the bathroom."

"I see. That explains a lot." Reiji shook his head. "Ayato, I did not expect you to be this barbaric as to own that girl inside the bathroom."

"Whoa, whoa, stop right there. She turned me off before something happened."

"Hm... That's good news then."

"What?"

"Ayato-kun." Yui stepped out of the bathroom, trying her best to conceal her skin with little of what she has. "This is really embarassing. Please don't make me do this again."

She had wrapped the dress shirt around her wet hair as if it were a towel and she wore the coat around her body like a robe, with Ayato's red tie securing it closed like a belt around her torso. Thankfully, Ayato's coat reached down above her knees, hiding the most embarassing parts of her body.

"Were you talking to someone?" She asked as she moved towards the bed where she placed her changing clothes.

Ayato did not respond for a moment, choosing to oogle her a bit more before giving her a playful smile. "You actually look good in my school uniform."

Yui blushed furiously upon hearing that, but shortly turned pale as she noticed someone at the door. "Reiji-san! A...Ano... I'm sorry for being dressed this way. T-This doesn't look like it seems. E-Excuse me. I'll j-just change into something more appropriate." She swiftly took her clothes and ran back inside the bathroom.

"Seriously, that girl has no manners." Reiji then rubbed a thumb on his temple to relive him. "I guess I'd have to teach her the proper decorum while she's living in this manor."

"Oi, don't touch her. She's Yours Truly's." Ayato warned.

"Very well, but do discipline her or I will."

"Tch, you think too much. By the way, I've been holding the door open, why are you still standing out there?"

"What are you talking about? A gentleman cannot enter a lady's room without permission. No wonder that human has no manners. She has taken it from you."

"Are you picking a fight with me?"

"No, I am merely waiting for the girl's permission."

"Tch. Oi! Chichinashi! Megane wants to know if he can enter your room! He needs to talk with you."

"Eh?! Uhm... that's fine." Yui responded as she hurriedly changed inside the bathroom.

"She says yes."

"I heard that." Reiji informed him as he entered the room and sat on the sofa chair near the bed.

Ayato followed after him and plopped himself on the bed, earning him another scolding from the older Sakamaki.

"Ayato, you're drenched. Please do not ruin the bed sheets."

"Yeah, yeah. Sheesh!"

"And would you please leave this room. I'd like to have a talk with the human."

"Whatever you want to say to her, you can say infront of me. I ain't leaving."

"Tch, you're stubborn as ever. I'd have to deal with that attitude of yours some time soon."

"Ha, I'd like to see you try."

"Very well." Reiji grinned slyly.

...

"Sorry for the wait." Yui came out of the bathroom, this time dressed more appropriate. She wore a warm white wooly sweater and black leggings. "What did you need me for, Reiji-san?" She asked as she stood infront the two Sakamakis.

"I believe I have instructed you to come to my room as soon as you have noticed the side effects of my potion."

"Ah, y-yes." Yui quickly glanced at Ayato, who was now glaring at her, before she turned to Reiji. "I-I'm sorry if I hadn't done that. But regarding the wound on my tongue, it has completely healed. I was about to report it to you after I took a bath, but then I somehow fainted. Good thing Ayato came before I drowned in the bathtub."

"You fainted?" Reiji turned to his brother. "Ayato, explain this."

"I found her unconscious in the bathtub. She was burning with a fever. Her temperature was not normal as compared to a common fever, and it keeps increasing as time passes so I had to use my own body temperature to lower it down, and thanks to that, I ended up sleeping in the bath with her."

"A sudden fever huh? Anything else?"

"Well... the scars and wounds on my body have disappeared completely." Yui added.

"Yep, I checked her out myself." Ayato confirmed, to which Yui blushed.

Reiji silently absorbed the information they were giving him before he spoke again, "Her blood? Ayato, have you taken a bite on her ever since you got back?"

"I didn't. Her scent slightly changed after the fever so I chose it's best not to. It must be the potion mixing with her blood."

"That's good. You could have died if you drank her blood."

"Say that again?" Ayato, including Yui, was startled.

"Someone has been tampering with the bottles inside my room. That person has rearranged the labels. Considering that, I might have mixed the wrong ingredients to make that potion."

"T-That's terrible!" Yui gasped. "But I already drank the potion."

"Indeed, you have."

"What's gonna happen to me?"

Reiji looked at her with his usual eeriness. "You'll die. Probably."
