The same thing happened for a while, Emil not telling Leon about his day. Leon didn't think much of it, but he did ask about it one day, only receiving a shrug in return.

It was the next day when it actually began to mean something.

Emil was sitting on the couch, reading. He had been told many times by people in his school how much of a book nerd he was for reading so much. He didn't blame them, considering he had been reading for the entire time since he had gotten up at about five AM. Lukas walked in, still in his pajamas, sipping a cup of coffee, which of course, he had but butter in.

"Hey, Emil," he said, sitting next to him and pulling out his phone, playing some sort of game on it. That was when Emil remembered, he had wanted to talk to Lukas.

"Lukas, can I talk to you about something?" Emil asked.

"Sure." Lukas put his phone away back in his pocket, focussing his attention on Emil.

"Look… I…" Emil began, attempting to get what he was trying to say out of his mouth. "Why do you want to keep me away from Leon?" he blurted. "Is it some overprotective sibling thing? Do you not like Leon? What is it?"

"Now, now, Emil. You don't have to yell-"

Emil closer to Lukas, his face flushing a visible red in anger. "Being with Leon makes me happy, so why don't you want me to be happy?"

Lukas remained calm. "I know what can happen in these kinds of situations, Emil. Your heart is going to get broken if you stay with him."

"And you think that hurts less than you trying to keep me away from him?"

"Emil, it will all make sense…"

Emil stood up, his head now higher than Lukas's as he looked down at him, his face now completely a scarlet shade. "Well it doesn't right now!"

A small smile touched Lukas's face. "You're adorable when you're angry… But Emil, you know it's for the best."

"Stop thinking you know what's best for me just because you're my older brother or something!" Emil screamed, attempting to land a blow on Lukas's jaw, but his fist was easily flicked away by Lukas's arm. He stomped, tears in his eyes, and ran up to his room.

Lukas watched him leave, with an expression that was almost concern. "That was… something…" he muttered.

Surprisingly, Leon was not woken by Emil's violent rampage up the stairs or the slam of his door in his room. Instead, he woke up later at his usual time, and as always, trudged down the stairs with not much attention to anything going on, and plopped himself on the couch, pulling out his phone. Usually, Emil or sometimes Lukas would greet him, but there was not a single person there. Missing their company, he went back upstairs and knocked on Emil's door.

"Who is it?" said a rather irritated voice from inside.

"Just me, Leon."

The door unlocked and Emil opened it. His eyes were red and puffy as if he had been crying.

"Were you… crying?" Leon asked.

Emil visibly flinched, before scowling. "Hey, my favorite character in the book I was reading died," he said defensively, gesturing to a book on his nightstand."

Leon glanced at the book, before looking back up at Emil. "Wanna cuddle?" he asked, and before he could even say another word, Emil jumped into his arms.

"Leon, how many times have I told you not to distract me while I'm doing homework?"

"I'm just standing here."

"But you're distracting me."

"How?"

"Well, I can't stop looking at you… and thinking about you instead of my essay I'm supposed to be writing."

"Well then I'll leave." Leon walked over to Emil and pecked his lips before exiting the room, and finding himself face to face with Lukas.

Lukas tilted his head slightly. "I want to talk to you," he said, walking away towards the living room and the couch.

"Alright." Leon followed.

"Why are you following me?"

"You said you wanted to talk to me."

"I never said I wanted to talk to you right now."

Leon rolled his eyes. Lukas certainly was an interesting person. "Well then why not right now?"

Lukas shrugged. "We are talking, aren't we?"

"Is that all you wanted?"

Lukas shook his head. "I guess I just wanted to tell you that Emil and I had a bit of a fight this morning, and it was about you. I thought you should know."

"Alright…" Then it occurred to Leon. Emil used to tell him practically everything, but now he didn't even tell him about his fight with Lukas, who hadn't been very specific about what the fight was about. Perhaps, he could talk to Emil, so he entered his room again, receiving a huff as he entered.

"I thought you said you would leave," Emil pouted, looking up from his work.

"I did, but I need to ask you about something," Leon replied, a glare and a nod from his boyfriend which he knew was telling him to go on. "Lukas told me you got into a fight with him," Leon continued. "And that it was about me."

Emil let out a small gasp, his face flushing with embarrassment and a bit of anger. "You… weren't supposed to know about that!"

"Come on, sweetie…" Leon cupped Emil's face in his hand. "You haven't been telling me things lately."

Emil lightly pushed his hand away. "I can have some personal life, can't I?"

"Yes, but I want to know if something hurts you."

"It's all Lukas's fault…" Emil muttered. "And I don't want to be any kind of burden.

"It's more of a burden knowing you could be hurt and not telling me." Leon got down on his knees so he was more level with Emil's sitting position.

"Just… leave me alone."

"No! I know you need somebody, specifically me."

"No I don't. Leave." Emil's breathing became more uneven, as if he was on the verge of tears. He put his hand onto Leon's shoulder and pushed him away from him.

"Come on, Emil, let me help you."

What truly irritated Emil was that what Leon was saying was true, but he simply did not want it to be true. He needed to get him out of the room, so he could collect his thoughts together. It wasn't quite clear to him what gave him such a huge urge, but he turned, looking Leon straight in the eye. He also wasn't sure what had made him say it, it had just sort of… escaped his mouth, but he had to get Leon out of his room, he simply had to.

"Go away, Leon! I don't want the comfort of someone who's not even a real boy!"

Emil clamped a hand over his mouth, immediately regretting his decision, but it was too late. He had already said the words.
