Her Lovely Alice

Mikan meets Hotaru who guides her to what the Alice school is all about. Hotaru mentions the 'games' which is a team effort which consists of different rounds and the last team standing wins. On the other hand, Narumi goes to a small wooden shack to meet Miss Himemiya to ask what Alice Mikan has…This is the continuation.

Chapter 4: Her Alice
"She has an ability to steal Alices."
"That-that is impossible! Miss Himemiya, I know you've been here to this school longer than me but please I don't want lies."
"I cannot argue with you Narumi but I am telling the truth. The day before Miss Yuka left, she was already pregnant with you right? You thought you both only knew? I also did because she told me. "
Miss Himemiya smiled, took a deep breath and continued.
"She never felt sick, it was just a fake. This school kicked her out to save each and every person of this school, in other words to save themselves. In order to not reveal her from the Kagekis, who can use her to destroy all the Alice, they kept her away from this school. She agreed to do this because she had your child and didn't want to harm her, so she left without a word, except her lies to you all."
"But-but why would she leave me… all of us who loved her?"
"Because if she doesn't leave, she will be killed immediately. Narumi, this school does not care for the lives of this children, but they care what outcome their Alices can cause. And I know you are wondering why Haruka gave you your child. You see, they have no Alice stones because the Alice is themselves. That is why their body is in danger. That is why if one wrong move, the Alice can be affected and so can she. So thats why Yuka gave us that responsibility to take care of Mikan. Once the government finds out, they will immediately kill Mikan and that is why you can't let anyone know anything but us. Luckily, Mikan's Alice hasn't been out but anytime soon it will. So we must make a plan."
Miss Himemiya stood up and opened a drawer that was at the side of the room. She took a golden key in her Kimono's pocket and unlocked the drawer. She took out mandarin stone.
"Here, give this to Mikan as her substitute Alice. It is a Shield Alice. It'll will be a big help when she's at the games"
She handed the stone to Narumi.
"The plan is easy. Don't tell anyone the truth and I want you to keep a watchful eye of her. Of course, since you're the head of this school im sure you can bend the rules a little bit, won't you?"
"What do you mean?"
"In the games, why won't you partner her up with the strongest team that'll help her, since she has no Alice."
"I'll think about that…Well thankyou Miss Himemiya, I will consider all your thoughts. However, when did you and Haruka became so close in the past?"
"That's you should not need to know."
She smiled.
Narumi nods and exits.
"Sharpen your ears, open your eyes and clear your mind Narumi. You will now enter the real game."
To Mikan
Mikan entered her classroom nervously, as hundreds of eyes gleamed at her. The teacher Mr Boomer introduced Mikan to the class.
"Everyone please sit."
No one listened.
"I said everyone sit!" Mr Boomer's voiced boomed as loud as an earthquake, as the class shakes.
"Good. This is Mikan Sakura, she will be one of your peers. Sakura please introduce yourself."
"Well first of all call me Mikan! I lived with my mama for a long time but I don't know where my dad is but im still very happy. This is my first time being in an Alice school, so please take care of me."
Everyone watched at her but there was no response.
Suddenly Mikan cheered,
"FIGHTING!"
She bowed and said happily,
"So where's my sit Mister…?"
"There's a free spot over there, you can sit there for a while."
Mikan walked there while gleaming eyes followed her. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. It was Narumi.
"Class please read page 34. I will have a chat with Mr Narumi."
He leaves the class.
Then the three girls stomped together towards Mikan.
"You!" They yelled synchronically
"Hi! Who are you?" Said Mikan happily.
"Girls formation!"
The three stood in a straight line. The first girl on the left, with her hand on her hip said,
"I'm wakaka Usami. Call me Waka, I have a laser Alice."
The girl on the right said,
"I'm Anna Umenomiya. Call me Rosy. I have a hair Alice."
The girl in the middle grinned.
"I'm Sumire. The leader of the Magnet Girls. I have a Pheromone Alice. One kiss, you're dead."
Suddenly someone started to burst in laughter. Whispers spread across the room.
"Isn't it the first time Kokoroyomi is actually laughing?"
"You mean his actually moving his mouth."
"You! Why are you laughing?" Asked Sumire.
"Someone called you three pumpkins. I read her mind."
"Argh! Who?!" Sumire said annoyed.
Kokoroyomi smiled and pointed at Mikan.
"Her!"
The Magnet girls gave a death stare at her.
"You are so dead," said Waka.
"Rosy, go use your hair trick on her," demanded Sumire.
"But Sumire, we can't use our Alices, especially during class."
Sumire sighed.
"If I say do it, do it. Besides the teacher is outside. Hurry up. We got to teach her a lesson she'll never forget."
"Help!" Mikan squealed.
Mikan shut her eyes and suddenly a shadow overlapped her. It was a small shadow. It was Hotaru. She gave one cold stare towards the girls and they went back to their sits without a word, like a dog who has been scolded.
""Hotaru! Thankyou for saving me!"
Mikan jumped on Hotaru and squeezed her.
Hotaru turned red as she was like getting strangled by a snake.
"I give you three seconds to let go."
"1...2...3"
On 3, Mikan let go.
"Im sorry, I was just really happy we're friends!"
"Who said we were? Don't think wrong that I was being nice to you, I just can't tolerate this childish acts."
Hotaru went back to sit and continued reading her book.
Sumire and her friends who sat across Mikan said,
"You are so dead next time! You got lucky today!"
The Magnet girls stick their tongue out with a huge grin.
As the first bell rang for class, Narumi entered the class Mr Boomer.
"Good morning everyone!"
Everyone in the class stood up and bowed except Mikan.
"Good Morning head master."
"So...his the headmaster?" Thought Mikan.
"Thankyou everyone. You may be sitted. I have news for you today. As today, Natsume will be suspended for the whole week and Ruka is ill today, and may be away for a couple of days. Unfortunately, their team mate and your friend, Nobara has been in a terrible state that she will not be able to enter this class for longer than a month and will not be valid to the games this year. "
Mikan glanced around the classroom. Most of the class looked unhappy and stoned.
"However, the good news is that she said, she will get better as soon as possible to see you guys again but im sorry to say, there are no visiting hours at the moment. Please pray for Nobara and of course for Ruka. Have a nice day! And todays Friday, so please stay safe in the weekends."
As soon as Narumi left, whispers again spread across the room.
"I can't believe Nobara and Ruka is sick! It must be because of their last mission. "
"Didn't Natsume get suspended because he ran away again?"
"Now that I wonder, if Nobara won't join the games, who would team up with Natsume and Ruka? I hope he'll be pretty good. After all, Narumi and Ruka are the best!"
"GYAAA! What if it was me? I'll be with Natsume everyday!"
"And Ruka Pyon! Ahh..."
"Class please stop the chatter! We will begin class. Please continue your reading."
Throughout the day, Mikan wasn't able to communicate to anyone or make friends, since everyone had their own little groups. She would encounter the Magnet Girls who would give her death stares but luckily a robot called the "Help Robot" would be floating around in each place you go to. She would also meet Hotaru but whenever Mikansays "hello," Hotaru wouldn't reply due to busy reading a book. However, Mikan did encounter some unimaginable things. Such as, a talking rubbish which tells you to pick up your mess, the Help Robots, flying transports, a rollercoaster that teleports you quicker to places you want to go within the school boundaries, talking books in the library that helps you find what you need and a band on your head to communicate to people within the school. There were also stalls where students use their Alice to help but however, they would ask you money. It was supposed to be illegal in the school, so they would do it in secret. There were stalls that used their Alices. Such as reading your future and past, helping you to grow tall, making your favourite food, an illusion that makes you think your back home, sewing dolls that comes to life, flowers of any choice and pranksters who would trick their customer with an illusion and steal their money of them while laughing their heads off. At the end of the day, Mikan was surprised but was much more when Hotaru came up to her and said,
"Mr Narumi wants to see you outside."
And left without another word with a book on her hand.
Mikan dashed out of the classroom, out in the building and saw Mr Narumi.
"Hi Mr Narumi!" Mikan said while waving at him.
"Good afternoon Mikan! How was your first day?"
"Ahh..." Mikan thought in her head.
"Um it was good! I made friends!"
"Actually I made enemies," Mikan thought.
"That's good."
"Mikan I will have to discuss with you regarding your Alice but we'll talk about it when we get to your dormitory."
Mikan suddenly had a broad smile with gleaming eyes.
"Do I have a flying power like superman? Or a laser beam like green lantern? Or even better I can run fast like Dash! Wait, I actually want to be Hulk, so I can turn green and big! That'll be funny!" Mikan blabbered all the superheroes.
"You sure do talk a lot Mikan," Narumi said.
"You remind me of someone I met years ago. He was like a close friend to me. He would talk for ages non-stop. "
"He must be a cool guy," Mikan smiled.
"Yes he was...if he didn't die so suddenly," Narumi said softly and sadly.
"What did you say Mr Narumi?"
"Oh nothing! Well here we are Mikan! Welcome to the junior dormitory."
The dormitory was five storeys high. It was made out of old bricks like the administrator office with a flat roof and big wooden doors that opens two ways. As you enter the hallway, a woman stood behind the desk. She had long blonde hair tied in a ponytail with brown eyes and fair white skin. She wore a knee high purple dress with long white sleeves and wore greyish stockings with red high heels.
"Mikan this is Miss Serina Yamada. She has been her for many years and she takes care of you Juniors in the dormitory. She's like a mother to all but she can be a nut case."
Mikan giggled.
"Hi there Miss Yamada! Im Mikan! Nice to meet you!"
"Hi Mikan. I prefer you just call me Serina or even better Mama. And thankyou Narumi with that insulting words." Serina said with an annoyed but friendly smile.
"I love your necklace by the way."
"Thankyou Miss Yama- I mean mama."
"Well Miss Yamada we're heading to her room." Said Narumi
"Bye mama! I'll be in your care! "Mikan hugged Miss Yamada.
"Why you're such an enthusiastic and friendly child." Serina said.
"Bye bye mama!"
Narumi and Mikan headed to the third floor by stairs.
"Mikan, don't worry, we'll protect you," muttered Serina.
As Mikan and Narumi reached the third floor, there were many doors along the hallway.
"This is the third floor. This is where you will be staying. You will have a roommate but she won't be here for a while, so the room is all to yourself. Here, this is your room."
Her room was located at the near the stairs. As Narumi opened it with his Alice stone, the door opened. Mikan was amazed.
"Just letting you know, this doors does not have a knob. The only way to open it by your Alice stone. They will only recognised two students and specific staff members. And of course, they now know your Alice. Narumi held up an Alice coloured mandarin stone.
"Your Alice is a Shield Alice."
"WOOW!" Mikan said in excitement.
"Here let me put it around your neck."
As Narumi wraps it around Mikan's neck, he noticed the necklace given by Mikan's mother, which he does not know anything about.
"Why don't I take it off?"
"NO!"
Mikan scurried away from Narumi while she held her mother's necklace on her neck to make sure it was still on then she noticed how disrespectful she was towards Narumi.
"Im sorry Mr Narumi. This necklace is really precious to me. Im sorry if I took you in surprise."
"Oh no no Mikan, it's my fault but here, I'll just wrap another necklace around you, would that be fine?"
Without a pause, Mikan replied,
"Of course!"
Mikan gleamed in happiness.
"Thankyou so much!"
"Well Mikan enjoy your stay. Don't be afraid, since these dormitories are all secured by a powerful shield Alice which no intruder can come in unless you have a recognisable Alice in this school. Please sleep well since you'll have a big day tomorrow. Goodnight Mikan."
He patted Mikan on the head with a sweet smile.
"Thankyou Mr Narumi, I will cherish my Alice and won't be scared!"
She pumped her fist up.
"Fighting!"
Narumi walked towards the door and turned around and laughed a little,
"One thing, if you see ghosts floating around, switch your lights on and you'll be fine. Just report it to me tomorrow morning. The boys are using there Alices to scare the girls, so you could be the victim. Goodnight to you again."
Narumi exited out to the door.
Alice turned stunned.
"Ghos-ghos-t?"
Suddenly thunder appeared and curtains swayed as the wind enters the open glass window. Mikan shivered in fear then suddenly, the terrace door opened and someone hidden in the dark with curly long hair with a white floating dress appeared.
"Aaaaahhhhh! A ghos-ghost?"
