Her Lovely Alice
Previous Chapter:
Mikan met Nobara in her room. She found out that Nobara is her roommate but Nobara could not stay because she was being treated in the hospital. Mikan also found out that Nobara has a Healing Alice. Mikan then also met and became friends with the team 'The techies.' Further on, Mikan found out that she is grouped with Natsume and now everyone seemed to be in a surprise state, as well as Mikan.

Chapter 6: Fire and Ice
Mikan glances around the Junior Hall. She feels thousands of eyes glaring at her that was full of hatred and disgust.
Mikan gulps.
"Oh my noodles, this is not good," she whispers to herself.
Narumi smiles at her.
"Mikan Sakura, you are playing the games with Natsume and Ruka. Hopefully you will meet them tomorrow during your training at the Shield Field."
There was a minute silence but then it was interrupted after Narumi boomed once again with his microphone,
"Okay moving on, the last group will be..."
Everyone then didn't have their eyes on Mikan but whispers continued on. After the announcements were done, Narumi excused everyone to leave. Before Mikan decides to hide from everyone, the Magnet Girls went up to her table and stood up infront of her with shocked expressions with their hands on their hips with their piercing eyes aiming at Mikan.
"What the freak is going on? How can you be with our Ruka and Natsume?! We're like their
number one fan! We can't allow this!" Said Waka angrily.
"Yeah I agree with Waka!" Said Rosy but less forcefully.
"Girls, girls, girls," said Sumire.
She grins at Mikan.
"We'll just have to crush this little one."
She pats Mikan's head and whispers in her ear.
"We will have to hunt you down first."
Mikan's face turns bleak and pale.
Sumire then does a flying kiss towards Mikan with the attention to make her victim dreamy and drowsy but Hayate took out a plain looking mirror and steps infront of Mikan, reflecting Sumire's Alice away from Mikan.
Sumire collapses onto the ground.
"Hey Sumire! Are you okay?" Said Rosy kneeling down onto the floor with her.
"How dare you do this to her! You'll pay!" Waka yells towards Hayate.
Hayate smirks.
"Not our fault."
"I'll get you next time Mikan. It's not over. Come on girls, let's go." Sumire said faintly while Rosy helps her to get up.
Hayate continues,
"Phew that was close. Luckily I and Hotaru had a solution to block her Sumire's Alice by this mirror. We learnt that her Alice is actually a faint beam that goes right through your brain that makes you think you like her, which is grossing me out just thinking about it. Here, keep this mirror for the games to protect yourself from her. I think you'll need it especially the way she threatened you just then."
"But Hayate, if that's her Alice, why did she fall onto the floor?"
"Because the mirror reflected back to her and knowing that's it's her Alice, it doesn't affect herself but still could do little damages on her. Alices can also harm their owner."
"Oooohh I see."
Yu walks towards Mikan and holds both her hands with a sympathetic look.
"Don't worry lil Mikan, we will help you for sure. I feel so sorry for you that you have to be with Natsume and Ruka. They are really arrogant, crazy and scary and then you have to fight against all their jealous fans. Watch out they even have guy fans, which makes it even scarier now that I think of it."
"Shut up Yu, you're scaring her more," Yakumo responded as he gets up from his chair and stands taller than any of them.
Mikan begins to have watery eyes and shaky lips.
Hotaru who was busily reading her book, stands up.
"Guys lets go, we have to get ready for the games that is in a few days."
She looks at Mikan.
"If you're going to start crying for no reason, you will never get to see your mum again. Don't be a cry baby."
"Hotaru I think that's a bit too much..." Said Hayate.
"Don't worry Mikan, we will be here for you and we will-"
Yu was interrupted by Hotaru.
Hotaru sighs,
"Guys, you're not helping her. She has to toughen up if she wants to survive this school, and you guys know that. Let's go."
Hotaru leaves the Hall and the others follows except Yu.
"Pst Mikan, why don't you start hunting your teammates? Maybe try be friends with them? Well see you later. Keep your head high!"
Yu gave her a friendly hug and follows his team towards the door.
Mikan droops but then looks up,
"Yes, fighting! I will not give up! For mama and Mr. Mao!"
Mikan walks out happily, where no one was in sight.
"Yu? Hotaru? Hayate? Yakumo?"
She wanders around.
"Where did everyone go?"
"Mikan."
She turns around frighteningly.
"Wow you scared me Mr. Narumi," she said with relief.
"Mikan I need to discuss something with you."
"Sure," Mikan said happily.
"Well we can walk to the Junior's dormitory from here, it's just quite slower than the rollercoaster."
He laughs.
They then start walking between the rows of trees.
"Do you know Mikan, when you just follow the trees on the left side of you, you cannot be lost."
"Really?!"
"Mhm. So when you seem to get lost, just follow the left side and you'll eventually find a destination."
"So Mr. Narumi what do you want to talk about?"
"It's about the announcement today at the Hall. To be honest, I really didn't want you to be in the same group with Natsume, especially of what happened between you guys but-"
Mikan interrupts,
"Mr. Narumi, you don't have to worry. I believe that Natsume is a good person and we'll make a great team."
Narumi smiles and pats Mikan's head.
"I'm so glad you inherited that from your mother."
"What do you mean Mr. Narumi?" Mikan said confusingly.
"Even when I first met you and when I was at the hospital, you were going to tell me something. What were you going to say to me?"
Narumi stops.
"What's wrong Mr. Narumi?"
He takes a deep breath.
Puts both hands onto Mikan's shoulder and kneels down to level with Mikan.
"I got to tell you something Mikan. You might be in a surprise and you might hate me but I totally understand... I am your..."
Narumi pauses and remembers what Miss Himemiya said about not telling anyone the truth, which is that Mikan is his daughter.
"I'm sorry Mikan, I need to protect you," he thought.
"I'm the head of the school."
Mikan chuckles.
"Mr. Narumi I already know that! "
Narumi did a faint laugh,
"Really? My bad, just double checking."
They both continue to walk.
"But Mr. Narumi, how do you know my mother? You seem like you really know her."
"Oh I was just her friend for awhile, that was all."
"Oh okay, but how?"
"Oh I...just met her once when I wasn't working in this school and we talked for a bit and we just went our separate ways. Even just a for a short time, I knew she was an amazing woman just like you. "
He smiles at Mikan.
"So enough of that. I want to now ask you a question."
"Yes? I love questions!" Mikan said excitedly.
"How was your first stay? Did the boys do anything weird?"
"Umm…well there was one incident."
Mikan walks faster.
"Um..."
Narumi walks a little faster to catch up on Mikan and taps her on the shoulder.
"Mikan stop. What's the problem?"
Mikan turns around and looks straight to his purple captivating eyes and then looks down.
"There's really nothing."
"Mikan...you can trust me. I promise."
"Okay...I met a girl. She said her name was Nobara...and that she came from the hospital."
Narumi raises his eyebrows.
"Oh Nobara...yes she's your roommate. Don't worry, she won't do any harm but she's a very naughty girl. She should be resting in the hospital at all times."
"What happened to her Mr. Narumi?"
Narumi smiles.
"She's just sick. Did she happen to tell you anything?"
"She did show me that she had healing powers."
"Is that all?"
"Yes."
"Okay, that's good."
Then suddenly, a huge voice boomed at the Voice Box,
"Narumi please head to the office immediately."
Narumi sighs,
"Natsume," he mumbles.
He looks at Mikan,
"Mikan, looks like I have to go. Just keep walking along the left okay? You'll find your destination."
Narumi hurriedly heads to a different direction.
"Oh okay, bye Mr. Narumi!"
Mikan sighs.
"Did he say Natsume? What did he do this time?"
Mikan in her deep thoughts, keeps walking.
"I wonder how mama and Mr. Mao is? How's my old classmates? Does Hotaru hate me? Am I even going to survive this school? Is Natsume a crazy person?"
Suddenly...
"Ouch!"
Mikan looks up. All this time, she was looking down and did not notice that she was walking through the garden, bumping against the blossom tree where she first came on her first day. She looks up the tree and sees a person's back who is wearing a boy's uniform who is sitting on the tree branch. The boy stood still as he continues to rest his head onto the tree trunk.
"Psssst..." Mikan whispers to the boy.
She repeatedly calls the person.
"Hello, you awake?
She finally says,
"I'm Mikan, who are you?"
The boy turns around, and as soon as Mikan sees the red piercing eyes, she immediately knew it was Natsume hidden under the cat mask.
"I think Mr. Narumi is looking for you."
He gives no reply but keeps on staring at Mikan.
Mikan continues.
"Um...I forgive you about what happened to us previously."
Natsume finally replies,
"So looks like Mr. Narumi didn't remove your memory. First time to see that."
"Because I want to be friends with you," Mikan said abruptly.
Natsume looks at Mikan.
"Friends? So you really want to be friends?"
"Yes."
"Okay, if you can climb up this tree, we can be friends."
"Really?"
"Mhm."
Mikan wasn't fond to high places but she was determined to be friends with Natsume. She takes a deep breath and starts climbing up the tree. However, she struggles to go up as the bark was giving her bruises on the knees but then she still manages to go all the way up with her eyes shut. She then opens her eyes.
"Tada I did it, see Natsume?" She says proudly.
She looks around. Natsume wasn't on the tree anymore but on the ground.
He looks up at Mikan who was struggling to look down,
"Don't say rubbish things again. I don't believe in such friendship."
Mikan puts on a disappointing face and suddenly turns pale as she looks further down,
"You're so mean!" She said with a frustrating tone.
Then her voice softens.
"At least help me get down! I really don't know how!"
Mikan couldn't see Natsume's face but she knew he was enjoying this moment.
"Your fault, not mine."
He walks away.
Mikan took the courage to stand up onto the tree branch, but as soon as she was about to shout to Natsume again, she accidently slips of the branch. Down she went but then Natsume quickly caught her in his arms just in time before she fell onto the ground.
Mikan opens her eyes to see the cat mask infront of her while she becomes teary.
"Wahhhhhh! I thought I was going to die."
Natsume who's still holding onto her hips,
"You are so stupid."
Suddenly, there was an interruption. Someone was clapping their hands.
"Oh bravo. Natsume saves his dearest girlfriend."
They both look around to see where the noise was coming from.
It was a boy who seems to be a Senior due to his uniform and height. He wore a black blazer with blue stripes outlining the blazer. He had a blue ribbon tied around his shirt collar that paired with his checkered blue pants that reached up to his brown shoes. The most distinctive physical trait of him was his dark wavy purplish hair that had strips of curls hanging down his face. His dark blue pearl eyes glistened in the morning sun with the glistening of his violet Alice stone. He smiles at Natsume.
Natsume lets go off Mikan and she lands on her butt.
"Ouch! My butt!" Mikan said while rubbing her butt.
"She's not my girlfriend, or any words that involves with friend."
"So she must be your mate?"
The boy grins at Natsume.
"This is none of your business."
Natsume walks past him but then the guy grabs his arm.
"Well I just want you to know that I'm here to destroy you. How can I forget what you did to me by embarrassing me infront of all my friends? I guess it is not fair that you can't use your full power with that mask on but that just means it's easier for me to destroy you."
The guy took out a metallic flute. He grins.
"I guess I'll make a fool out of you dancing..."
He was about to play when he hears a laugh.
"Hahahahahahahahahahah!"
It was Mikan whose face suddenly turned red. Not with anger, but because of laughter.
"Why do you have a flute? Are you like going to play us a music? How sweet."
Mikan said curiously but not noticing that she was offending the guy.
The guy turns towards her.
"Excuse me, I have a Music Alice. With this flute, I can manipulate anyone. I can let them dance, sing, or manipulate them to do other things for the entire month. But if I'm nice, I guess I can make it last just for a week."
Mikan jumps infront of Nastume.
"Well, you can't hurt this guy."
"Why is that?"
"Um..."
Mikan thinks.
"Because he's gonna kick your butt."
The guy laughs and looks at Natsume.
"Aww are you sure she's not your girlfriend? Defending you and all. I think I like her. Why not you give her to me?"
Natsume immediately gives his word,
"Do as you like."
Mikan's jaw drops. She gave a 'What you're doing' look at Natsume.
As Natsume was heading off, Mikan shouts,
"What the hell are you doing Natsume! Don't leave me with this psycho!"
"Hey you I'm not a psycho!" The guy replies madly.
Natsume just kept on walking.
The guy whispers to Mikan,
"Natsume is such a cold guy, don't expect him to come back. "
He smirks at Mikan.
"So why don't we-"
Suddenly, a small rock hits his head.
"Ouch what the..."
He looks around, no one was there.
"Was it you?"
"I was infront of you, how could it be me." Mikan said surprisingly, also not knowing where the rock came from.
They both turn around.
Mikan was in great surprise. The boy who ditched her came to her rescue.
"Let go of her."
The guy held Mikan's hand tighter.
"Why? I knew it, you're her boyfriend."
Natsume gave a menacingly laugh.
"Are you blind or are you just plainly stupid? You need to see a doctor. Look at her, she looks like a 5 year old kid with the flattest chest."
Mikan whines but did not give a reply because she knew it was the truth.
"So what if she looks like a kid?"
The guys holds Mikan closer to him.
Natsume gives a reply,
"Okay, then I'll just tell your sister about this."
The guy lets go off Mikan.
"Don't...um don't do that."
Mikan looks at the guy who once acted like a tough guy, now became a whimpering dog.
"Wait who is your sister? You do kinda look familiar with that weird hair," Mikan mumbles towards the guy.
The guy runs away.
Mikan mumbles to herself,
"Could it be that he is Sumire's brother? With that hair, it's not impossible."
Mikan then looks at Natsume who was walking back towards the forest. She ran towards him.
"Um thank you! You're a great friend!"
Natsume stops and turns around.
"You! Before you start being all sissy towards someone, at least know their weaknesses."
He continues to walk.
Mikan continues to trail behind him.
"Does that mean, you're worried about me?" She said happily in a high pitched voice.
"Shut up, and go home. Do what little kids do."
"Well aren't you a kid too?"
Natsume's voice became much more irritated.
"Go away."
"But I still have a lot of time...and all my friends are busy doing stuff. So...can I-"
"Don't think about it."
He turns around and looks at Mikan with his piercing eyes.
"I saved you but it does not mean were friends."
Mikan smiles with her teeth.
"Are you sure about that?"
"You! Are you trying to annoy me?! Go home you little kid."
Natsume keeps on walking.
Mikan keeps following.
"So what do you in a day like this? Sleep? Eat? Play? "
Natsume stops and turns around.
"Look up, I think I see something."
Mikan looks up.
"Hey, there's nothin-"
No one but the wind was infront of her.
"Natsume? Natsume! Where did you go?"
"You just left, I was going to talk about the name of our group..." She said disappointedly.
She heads to the Junior dormitory which was the only place she feels safe.
She enters inside and Mrs. Yamada wasn't on the counter.
"Mrs. Yamada, are you here?"
No one replies.
Mikan decides to go upstairs and head to her room. She slumps onto her bed and lifts up her necklace of the silver miniature cat that her mum gave.
She mumbles, "I miss you so much."
Mikan gasps in excitement.
"Oh I know I'll write a letter! So then I can show it to mama and Mr. Mao! I definitely have to win the games."
She went to the drawer and takes out a plain mechanical pencil and a piece of paper.
She starts writing,
"Dear Mama and Mr Mao,
How are you?
It's kind of boring without you guys but I really don't mind since I met some friends. You know I met this boy name Natsume. He looks really grumpy but I know he's nice. He reminds me of the movie we watched together, the King Kong, which he is the gorilla. He's so tough at the outside but I think he's soft in the inside sometimes…keke… And then there is the girl Nobara. She's my roommate and she seems nice and funny but I feel like she's hiding something. Oh yes, I can't forget! I met Hotaru, one of the prettiest girl that I ever met, and then there is Yamato, Yu (Toto) and Hayate. They are all great! I wish I can write more, but I'm kind of sleepy. But don't worry I'll write more! I just want to show you today, how I have met many friends. That also includes of course Mr. Narumi, who he said he knows you and there's my other mama, Mrs. Yamada. Don't be jealous, you'll always be my number one and of course, I won't forget you Mr. Mao!
I really hope to see you guys soon.

After that, she slowly and gently drops her head onto the table and went to sleep in such a bright morning. Everything that's happening is too fast for her. She falls deeply asleep.
Everything was suddenly dark.
"Hello?!" Mikan yells.
She hears an owl hoot, a snake hiss and leaves crunching below her as she walks slowly through the dark forest. She keeps walking without any sense of direction. Soon, she saw a light. It wasn't a magic light but it was a blue crystal light. It was getting colder and colder. It was going quieter and quieter. Her steps felt light and her eyes was just focusing onto the light. It was mesmerising. It was miraculous. It felt magic. It was white. It was cold but a cold you want to live in forever. It was snow.
Mikan prances around the falling snowflakes, and imprints every step she makes on the ground. Her eyes gleams with happiness, as she was like a child who received a new toy. She pokes her tongue out to feel the ticklish and coldness of the pretty snowflakes. She dance and dance like there was no tomorrow and she slumps onto the ground, ignoring the fact that the snow froze her uncovered legs. She spreads her two arms away from her body, and slowly to rapidly swinging her arms up and down on the snow, and spreads her legs back and forth. It was her memory to keep. She laughs and scream with enthusiasm.
"THIS IS SOOO AMAZING!"
She stops and gazes up the green trees that was once a forest but now mounted with snow.
"Mum! Mr Mao! Do you see me? Im here on snow! Never before! I hope you can see this with me."
She closes her eyes and hymns,
"Snow, snow, snow, makes my tummy full.
Now I don't have to eat but eat snowflakes.
After all, snowflakes are just like cereal."
She opens her eyes.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" She said surprisingly.
She quickly stands up. The snow was still behind her like it was attached to her. Like she was attached to the snow. She panicked as a polar bear stood right infront oh her.
"Good doggy, good doggy…" She mumbles.
Then a familiar boy walks towards coming from behind the bear. He wore a bear mask and wore the same uniform as Natsume. She remembers him as soon as she hears his husky voice,
"Why are you here? You are invading my property."
Mikan did not once took her eyes off bear.
"What? I just happened to see…and… Wait!"
She looks at the boy.
"This can't be yours, nature can't be yours. This snow isn't yours."
The guy laughs menacingly.
"That's true but this nature is mine. Everything you just stepped on is mine. My creation, my world. And you dare step on it."
Mikan gritted her teeth. She was scared but then she remembered what her mum told her. To stand for what she believes is right.
"Whoever you are polar face, you can't tell people what to do!" Mikan blurted out.
She then clasps her hands onto her mouth as she did not where her words came out.
The guy glares at her.
Mikan prepares herself for getting a hit. But instead, he gets a laughter.
"Hahahaha, weird. I like you, you're different from among all the girls I met. Usually they would simply obey me. I like your guts. Let's be friends. What's your name?"
Mikan blushes as this was the very first time a guy complimented her but she was still annoyed by his presence and the bear was freaking her out.
"Kiss my butt."
Mikan runs off.
"Stupid jerk who thinks he can tell me what to do and tell me to be friends with him. Argggghh!"
She continues to walk towards the darkness of the forest.
"Mikan."
Mikan turns around angrily.
"What?!"
A man stood infront of her. He was fairly tall. He had short brownish straight fair hair with bangs that covered his mesmerising blue eyes. He wore a dark coloured sleeve with a matching pants. Everything about him, felt delicate and innocent.
"Who- Who are you?" Mikan stutters.
"Mikan! Mikan! Wake up!"
"Huh?"
Mikan yawns and sees Mrs. Yamada with a frown on her face.
"Oh my goodness, child! I thought something happened to you! I've been knocking on your door several times and you never answered. And then I find you here mumbling while you're sleeping. Did you have a nightmare?"
"So there's no snow?" Mikan said confusingly.
"What? You're in your room. And besides we don't receive snow here at this school."
"But..."
Mrs. Yamada sighs.
"Let's just go have dinner okay? I'll meet you downstairs, so we can head to the Junior Hall."
She pats Mikan's head and went downstairs.
Mikan looks at the clock.
"So I've been sleeping the whole time. But that dream seems so real. And the guy with the bear mask, why was he in my dream? And who was the other guy? I feel like I've seen him somewhere."
