Small update for now, expect more to come

Breeze beach was a common attraction to the people of Mistral. Its soft, tan sand and bright, clear water was alluring and provided much benefit for not only the innkeepers of the town, but the monsters as well as they would often charge out of the waves and make off with an unsuspecting visitor. Naturally, the Prince of Mistral issued a decree than the beach be closed in order to preserve the well-being of his citizens as well as the numerous visitors they had.

This led to a completely deserted coastline; the silent waves crashing upon the shore one by one, concealing the monsters hoping to catch some unaware wanderers. Usually, if one is careful enough, he could sneak through the sand and find a place to sit on a nearby rock and enjoy the serene sound of the water.

But today, the normally calm water rippled as a wooden boat floated towards the shore. As it landed, two figures stepped out and made their way towards the shore while conversing with one another.

"Remind me again why we're doing this?" The first said

The second one shook its head, "Ugh, for the last time, Maxwell is sending us to Mistral to finish Kuda if he fails his mission and-"

"You mean WHEN he fails his mission."

"You COULD be a little more supportive. He is your friend after all…"

"Yeah well given his recent track record and what he did to Ulkina, I'm pretty sure he has it coming."

"Whatever Mr. Grumpy pants, lets just find a place to stay."

The ice on the walls of the cave seemed to thicken as I ventured deeper into the cave and I could hear the soft crunch crunch of my boots against the ice covered cave floor. I had no idea how long I had been walking or how far I had gone into the cave, but I pressed forward, hoping the ice beast was inside.

"SKARAMYA? SKARAMYA? Are you here?" I called out instantly realizing how idiotic that may have sounded. There is no way this beast could understand human speech! Maybe the cold winds damaged my head as well… My doubts were put to rest as the cave began to rumble. Suddenly, a sharp voice echoed from within the cave.

"Who dares speak my name?"

"Uh…me, Kuda, Assassin of the Fallen Gods" I proclaimed, practically shouting into the darkness.

"What business do you have with me assassin? Have you come to attempt to slay me?"

"No" I responded, "The Fallen Goddess has asked for an alliance and has sent me to constitute it."

"Allying myself with an immortal being? This sounds odd, given what I recall from her history. Why would she select me?"

"Um…." My mind quickly flashed to Kuhla's page about Skaramya, namely the death toll associated with this beast. "I recall you being the slayer of over 10,000 men-"

"All of whom were trespassers, might I add". She interjected dangerously.

"And did you enjoy your slaughtering of these men?"

I could hear a laugh echoing from within the cave as well as thundering footsteps emanating from the darkness.

"Certainly."

The footsteps seemed to increase in volume, as if the beast was slowly getting closer and closer to me

"Well, with the Fallen Goddess, you can slaughter pitiful humans whenever you'd like!"

Dead silence followed my gesture, a sign of the creature thinking over the offer, or so I hoped.

And then a sound echoed through the cave "Yes. I suppose waiting for my prey to come to me has been a bit tedious…I accept!"

My eyes lit up "Really? Well great because the hu-"

"If!" She added "You are able to prove the strength of your allegiance and defeat me!" She announced with a roar, her red eyes blinking into existence five feet above me as she stared down at me with a grin.

I could feel the cold aura emanating fro her icy body, her faint blue glow emitting light to the surrounding cave. I shivered, from fear or cold I'll never know, as I stared up at her. But as scared as I was, I couldn't let Maxie down.

"I-if I defeat you, how will you join the army?"

This incited a laugh out of her, once again shaking the entire cave.

"That, my dear assassin, is a very big if" She replied, immediately following her retort with an icy explosion
