Author's Note: Finally back! YaY! A lot of stuff happened so I pretty much only had about half of my winter break and then a mountain of homework to do so that explains the late update, sorry. OMB THE SEQUAL FOR KNB CAME OUT AND I READ IT AND ASDFGHJKL MY BABIES ARE BACK AND THEY'RE GONNA KICK BUTT. XD I was squealing and screaming and fangirling all over the place. Anyways, here you go!
CHAPTER 9:
"Geez coach! I know I haven't been to practice for a couple days but quadruple menu is just cruel! I might die at this rate!" Kagami huffed out as he collapsed onto the bench when Riko blew the whistle for break.
Kyoshi and Hyuuga both gave Kagami a pat on the back and looks of pity.
"Must be tough taking care of your lover and doing practice too huh Kagami," Koga teased him.
"h-He's not my lover! Kuroko is my PARTNER!" Kagami corrected.
"What's the difference?" Izuki smirked. The rest of the team laughed as Kagami turned red and insisted there was a big difference. Just then, Kagami received a text from Kuroko asking him to pick up milk on the way back and everyone burst into laughter again.
"Exactly like a married couple! Can't deny it now Bakagami!" one of the members shouted.
"But he's not, okay!" Kagami yelled back.
"Alright, that is enough. It seems you all still have this much energy so how about one more round of practice!" Riko smiled evilly. The boys shut up immediately. Right as she was about to blow the whistle Kise came crashing through the gyms doors.
"KUROKOCHI~~~~~ I have come to walk you home!" Kise yelled in a singsong voice.
"Eh? Is there still practice? I thought practice was over since it's already this late," Kise looked confusedly at the members. They were all about to be forced back into practice but Kise stopped by at the right time.
"Err, No! Practice just finished!" said Hyuuga hastily.
"Where's Kurokocchi? Is he changing?" Kise asked.
Everyone got silent for a moment before Kyoshi nervously chuckled and said "Kuroko didn't come to practice today because he's at home recuperating from…uh.." Kyoshi looks over to Kagami.
He felt bad lying since Kise sincerely cared about Kuroko now so he told him the truth. "Kuroko fainted from exhaustion and over exerting his body. It's been a few days but it won't be fully healed for a while,"
Kise nearly fainted on spot but he shot back up with a burst of energy, "OH NO MY DEAR KUROKOCCHI! I can't believe you left him alone in that state! What if he starves to death?! What about the kids!?" Kise grabbed Kagami's collar as he shouted the questions frantically at him.
"Woah, calm down Kise-san. Kagami has been taking care of him day and night for the past few days so there is nothing to worry about. He has also been caring for the kids," Riko said trying to calm the frantic blond.
"Day AND night?!" Kise squeaked. He got quiet as thoughts raced through his mind.
"How could they allow Kagamicchi and Kurokocchi to be alone together both day and night?! What if Kurokocchi is attacked!? I can't allow this! Wait! This is the perfect opportunity to show my charming and caring side to Kurokocchi!" Kise took a deep breath and smiled at the group. He let go of Kagami's collar and calmly addressed the members of seirin,
"Well, I have taken up enough of your time minnacchi. Kagamicchi and I will be visiting Kurokocchi now. Goodbye!" Kise waved with one hand and dragged Kagami with his other hand as he raced out of the gym doors.
"Hey I'm back." Said Kagami as he walked through the door. When he bent down to take off his shoes, Kise ran ahead and went off to find Kuroko.
"Welcome back Kagami-kun, oh, hello Kise-kun. This is quite a surprise," Said Kuroko from the kitchen doorway.
"Uwaaa! Kurokocchi! You scared me!" Kise yelped. He got over his shock and threw an arm around Kuroko.
"Kurokochi! I heard you're sick! How are you feeling now? Should we go to the hospital?" Kise asked worriedly while cheek rubbing Kuroko and stroking his head.
"No, I'm feeling better, Kagami-kun has been taking good care of me," Kuroko said to Kise. "And grandpa's soup works wonders. I'm glad Kagami-kun finally went to school so Shigetsu-san could drop it off earlier" Kuroko thought. He brushed off Kise's arm and went over to Kagami.
"Did you buy the things yet?" Kuroko questioned.
"No, it would've been too much of a hassle taking this guy with me so I'm about to go after I change my clothes," Kagami replied.
"Alright, don't forget your wallet." Kuroko said and went back into the kitchen. Kagami went to his temporary room and changed. Kise decided to follow Kuroko into the kitchen.
"Is Kaga-nii back?" asked Rima as she put her handmade onigiri onto a place. The other kids looked up from their tasks to hear Kuroko's answer.
"He just got back but he's about to go to the store right now. He'll be home in a little while, you can go say bye now or welcome home later." Kuroko said. The kids all washed their hands and went to say bye to Kagami before he left and when they finished they came back to the kitchen.
"Hi Kise nii-chan! Did you come over to play with us?" Ami asked when she walked by him.
"Yup! And I also came over to take care or Kurokocchi so you should sit down and relax okay?" Kise answered and directed the last part to Kuroko.
"I'm fine, you should play with the kids," Kuroko said as he began washing the kids' dishes. Kise yelled "no!" and propelled Kuroko to the couch and sat him down with a book. Kuroko tried to get back up but the when he had resisted Kise when he was pushed down, his legs' condition temporarily deteriorated. Kuroko decided to just let the blond do it since he has insisted so much. By then the kids had all filed out into the living room and were patiently waiting for Kise to play with them. They got out various toys and things.
Kise walked into the living room carrying a tray of tea, he set it down on the table in front of Kuroko and gave him a cup.
"Thank you Kise-kun," Kuroko said sipping the tea and reading his book.
"Are you gonna play with us now Kise nii-san? Please!" Ami said and held up her stuffed bear.
"Sure! What you do cuties wanna play?" Kise asked and sat down on the rug with them. The kids started yelling out various games.
"We should play video games! I've been practicing and I can beat anyone now!" Kyo said proudly while waving the controller around.
"Yeah! Me too me too! I can totally beat you all!" Yelled Aoi excitedly.
"NO! We should play castle! You can be the servants while Kise-nii is the prince and I'm the princess!" said Rima, she had changed into the princess costume.
"I want to be a princess too!" Ami yelled and ran to change.
"You can be the fairy godmother Tsukimo," Rima said to the girl and she nodded happily.
"Kamiko, you're the queen and Kuro nii-chan is the king." Rima said.
"HEY! We said we were gonna play video games! And I don't want to be a servant!" Kyo protested.
"Me either!" Aoi said.
"Same here, I wanna play a different game instead. How about chess? It's like shogi but it has different pieces!" Sion showed off his chess board with eyes shining.
"Um, since everyone wants to play different things how about we take turns? Shall we flip a coin to see who goes first?" Kise said and pulled out a coin.
"Heads for boys!" Kyo said.
"Okay, we have tails then," said one of the girls. In the end the girls side won so they played castle first. Taiga elected to sit and practice his reading with Kuroko on the couch but the other boys wanted to play so they all became knights instead of servants. Nigou was chosen to be the dragon Kise had to fight to save the princesses, queen and fairy.
Kagami came back 20 minutes later and Kuroko got up to help him put away the groceries. Kise was about to go tell him to sit down but he was occupied with the kids.
"So what do you want for dinner?" Kagami asked his partner.
"You can make something for yourself if you want but the kids already made onigiri earlier so we'll eat that today," Kuroko replied.
"Is Kise staying for dinner?" Kagami asked.
"I don't know, I'll ask him," Kuroko said. He left the kitchen and went to fine the blonde. It seems that it's the boys turn to play now so they we all crowded in front of the TV.
"Kise-kun are you staying for dinner?" Kuroko questioned.
"Hmm, Yes please! Actually, I was meaning to tell you this before but I want to stay over for a while to help take care of you Kurokocchi! Can't leave it all to Kagamicchi! I'm your friend too!" Kise said cheekily. Kuroko deadpanned, and turned to go tell Kagami.
"It seems Kise-kun plans to stay here for a while. I have no idea why but he decided to and I doubt he'll take no for an answer. And I have reason to believe that the rest of the GOM will be arriving sooner or later. There's no way Akashi won't find out about Kise staying here. Kagami-kun should probably go back to your apartment," Kuroko said.
"Nah it's fine, I don't mind, and besides, who knows what will happen if I left you and the kids alone with them. I still remember what happened the last time they showed up. There was a hole in the METAL DOOR," Kagami said and sighed heavily. "Not only would the place most likely get wrecked, I fear for Kuroko's innocence. Those monsters don't know how to control themselves. Even I'm surprised I lasted this long," Kagami thought.
"It will be very crowded," was all Kuroko said before he went back to reading his book. Kagami started preparing for dinner and decided to make a couple more servings just in case.
"Kurokocchi~ what are you reading?" Kise said as he sprawled himself along the couch Kuroko sat at. He cheekily used Kuroko's lap as a pillow and looked up at the blue haired boy from under his arms. Kuroko decided to ignore him as he was just getting to the good part.
"Ne Kurokocchi don't ignore me~!" Kise whined and pouted. He got revenge by nuzzling his face into Kuroko's stomach and hugged him tightly around the waist. Kise felt Kuroko's defined ab muscles through his shirt and cardigan and laughed.
"Hey Kurokocchi, you have nice abs huh? I thought you'd be soft since you only drink vanilla milkshakes," Kise said.
"Kise-kun please stop, it's weird. And I am also a basketball player," Kuroko said, although he left out the 'former' part.
PART 2
"Hey dinners finished, do you want to eat now of later," Kagami said as he came out from the kitchen.
"What are you doing to Kuroko you creep! Get off of him!" Kagami fumed when he saw the blond comfortably laying on his partners lap.
"Lap pillow! Jealous aren't you Kagamicchi~" Kise said and snuggled closer. Kagami ended up dragging Kise off of Kuroko by the collar.
"Nii-chan! I'm hungry! Let eat the rice balls we made earlier!" Kyo said. He ran into the kitchen first. His siblings followed after, just as excited to eat their successful first attempt at cooking. Nigou happily trod after them, knowing he'd get fed extra by the kids.
"Alright, I'm coming. Don't try to grab the plate by yourself Kyo!" Kuroko warned from the couch as he marked his page and set the book down. Kuroko moved to get up but was immediately picked up by Kise who had managed to escape Kagami's death grip.
"Okay let's go eat dinner now," said Kise as he started speed walking into the kitchen with Kuroko still in his arms. Kise moved quickly before Kagami had comprehended what was going on.
"Please put me down Kise-kun," Kuroko said before he jabbed the blonde in the ribs. The shorter boy then went to help his brother with the plate of onigiri.
"Awww you didn't have to hit me Kurokocchi!" Kise whined with his crocodile tears. Kagami came in and promptly thumped Kise on the head making him cry even more.
"You Little! Don't you dare touch Kuroko!" Kagami fumed before hitting him again. The scowling teen went to put on his apron before starting dinner preparations because onigiri wouldn't be enough to satisfy his enormous stomach and the annoying tagalong.
Kuroko, Kagami and Kise and the kids all have dinner. Kagami decided to make spaghetti that night for the older teens while the kids at their onigiri and drank juices. Ami never had spaghetti before and was curious about what it tasted like. Sh finished her onigiri and turned to kise who was sitting next to her and opened her mouth saying "Ahh~" Kise chuckled a bit and fed her some spaghetti.
"Do you like it Ami-chan?" Kise said with a smile.
"Mmmyeah! It's tasty! I wanna have that for dinner another day! I'm kinda full right now so I'm gonna go watch the tv," She said and then proceeded to leave the dinner table. Kamiko being a lover of foods decided she wanted to try it to and pat Kise on the hand and asked him to feed her too. "Kise-nii can I try it too?" she said cutely. Kamiko wasn't as coordinated as Ami and ended getting some of it on her face. Kise swoops down to kiss her cheek while cleaning it at the same time. "Hehe thanks Kise-nii! Kagami-nii it was super tasty! Thanks for the food!" She said as she drank the rest of her juice and decided to join Ami at the couch.
Kuroko kicks him under the table and gives him a look. 'Don't you dare make moves at my sister you playboy' Kise sweatdropped and assured him "No NO Kurokocchi! That wasn't what I was doing at all!" Kagami snorted and rolled his eyes while stuffing his face continuously. The other children besides Mini-Taiga who had no more room in his stomach to eat anything else and Sion who very much disliked tomatoes, decided to try it too. Kuroko, Kagami, and Kise took turns sharing their dinner with the hungry little ducklings. After the teens cleaned up the kitchen, they gave the children a bath and headed off to bed. Kise sleeps in the same guest room as Kagami because Kagami refuses to let kise have the chance to sneak up on Kuroko in the middle of the night.
The next day, the two boys go back to school. "Bye Kurokocchi! Have a good day! I'll see you later! Mwaa!" Kise called from the doorway as he headed out. He tried to blow a kiss to Kuroko but Kagami caught it and shoved it back at him making the blond whine. "See ya Kuroko. Remember to rest!" Kagami told him before patting him on the head and leaving for school and dragging Kise with him.
"Have a good day you two." Kuroko said.
"Bye-Bye nii-sans!" All the chibis called while eating their breakfast in the kitchen. Kuroko cleaned up and then called the kids together in the living room to plan out the day ahead. It took a while and many different activities before the kids became tired enough to take naps giving Kuroko the privacy he needed to contact Shigetsu.
"I'm alone now and the children are asleep. Please bring over another batch of soup and also the information that you gathered the past few days about the locations of possible rebel clans." Kuroko hung up after Shigetsu assured him that he would bring it over right away. Kuroko sat back on the couch and closed his eyes. He thought back about the things he saw earlier in the day.
"Hmmmmm. It seems my parents were up to something after all." Kuroko thought to himself. It seems that his siblings were a bit different from other kids their age. He has a hunch and a gut feeling that it was his parents' doing but he wasn't completely sure of it yet. There's only slight hints of it. He'll have to watch the kids more closely now.
Kuroko finished his train of thought and rested his cheek against his hand. His phone vibrated and it was Shigetsu who notified Kuroko that he was there instead of ringing the doorbell as instructed.
"Greetings Tetsuya-sama, I have brought what you requested," Shigetsu said when he was let into the apartment.
"Good work Shigetsu. Have a seat, I have things to discuss with you." Kuroko told him as he headed to the kitchen for tea. Shigetsu set the file down on the table before taking a seat. Kurok obrought out the tea and began looking through the files.
"We were only able to vaguely narrow down the areas of about four of the would-be rebel groups. We spotted a few of the lackeys and found their hide outs but none of the leaders have made any suspicious movements in the area." Shigetsu explained once Kuroko finished reading. He took a sip of tea to let Kuroko memorize every detail.
"Okay, I understand. We should send a group out to each area and investigate in more detail. I assume that you only sent scouts and hidden watchers the past few days to get this information correct? We should begin narrowing these bases down. Send groups of moles into the areas immediately. N m" Kuroko said.
"Yes. We were unable to get any skilled members that were free from other missions to investigate. There are still some leading the groups hunting around our area to find our missing leaders. I apologize Tetsuya-sama, but we will have to wait until we have enough people to scout in the farther areas and we still have to find more of the rebel groups. They dropped out of sight after each tournament." Shigetsu explained to Kuroko.
Kuroko gave a frustrated sigh as he thought about it. He stared at the papers on the table in front of him. It made so much more sense to listen to Shigetsu's words and wait for more members to be free after completing their underworld missions negotiating and such but Kuroko just couldn't wait. He remained stotic and calm on the outside after his small outburst. He looked up at the man sitting across from him and masked his internal emotions.
"Alright. I guess we will have to wait to deal with them. Send my regards to the teams searching the city. I will also start training again once I can escape from Kagami-kun's house arrest and throw off the problematic group of people I befriended. I have another matter to talk to you about." Kuroko said in a serious tone.
"Did something happen?" Shigetsu expressed his concern.
"I noticed something while playing with my siblings today. I'm not completely sure if it is as serious as I think it is but it seems that they each have above average skills in various things. The boys are more energetic than I thought possible for kids their age and it seems with each passing day, they gain more stamina. Sion has a higher capability of understanding things and even strategizing than should be possible with his limited availability to books and learning in general. The daycare is only instructed to care for them and does not function as a school environment. Taiga is themost understanding a perceptive of the children. He was the one who decided they should try to contact Kagami-kun when I was passed out. The girls are very creative, and also highly flexible. Rima and Ami are able to balance books and stand on them to draw higher on the walls and they stretch dangerously off the counters or tables to reach things they want. Kamiko is more fond of mixing different things and seeing if they result in a positive creation. I noticed she does that with a lot of her snacks instead of just eating them straight like her siblings. She remembers the mixtures that she likes and the ones she has already done. Tsukimo is the one who can become level-headed and calm the quickest. She also has good instincts and judgement for things. She learns things extremely quickly, even a little faster than Sion. It's more like she can figure it out for herself at her pace. I'm not sure if it was due to my parents and their hidden training but I don't think it is normal. I'm not completely sure, what do you think?" Kuroko explained with slight worry. He took a look around the living room, picturing his siblings earlier in the day with their shenanigans. Shigetsu brought back his attention when he began speaking again.
"Well, that does sound slightly abnormal but remember the children were kidnaped to be sold because of their abnormal appearances. It might also be genetics. I will look more into their backgrounds and let you know what comes up. Don't worry about it too much" Shigetsu replied.
"Alright. You may go now," Kuroko said. He waved off the older man.
"Remember that you have to wait." Shigetsu said before he left. He also gave Kurko a meaningful look that doubled as a silent warning.
"I know." Kuroko lied. Kuroko went to clean up the tea and put away the papers before the children woke up.
"Nii-chan! I woke up!" Kamiko said when she popped up behind him in the kitchen. She grabbed his legs and gave him a little squeeze.
"Oh hello Kamiko-chan. Have you washed your face and brushed your teeth?" the calm bluenette asked when he turned around to face the mop of light brown hair stuck on his leg.
"Yep Yep! What are we having for snack today? Pudding? Or is it biscuits and jam? Oh! Would jam taste good with pudding?" Kamiko started rambling on about what she thought would taste better between the different combinations of snacks and that eventually woke up the other kids. Kuroko was luckily able to escape her grip and get the pudding cups from the fridge. All eight hungry little ducklings sat down at the kitchen table ready for snack.
"Nii-san has a very important question to ask all of you, will you listen?" Kuroko expressed when they were all settled in with pudding.
"Mmmh yeah! Sure nii-chan! Go ahead!" Aoi called first before swallowing his bite of pudding. The others around him nodded.
"You can ask us anything nii-chan!" Sion said with confidence.
"Can you tell me what you-" Kuroko was cut off by the sudden ringing that cane from his cellphone.
"Hello Akashi-kun, I assume this has something to do with Kise-kun." Kuroko answered slightly sullenly. He expected this but it is still tiring to deal with the gom.
"Hello Tetsuya. Indeed it is, I am sending movers to your apartment and they should arrive in 30 minutes to set up the furniture for our stay. I can't leave it up to Ryouta to care for you alone. I must also care for my friend and ex-teammate. I will be arriving with Atsushi later this evening." Akashi said. Kuroko could hear the smirk in his voice.
"Is it really necessary? Kagami-kun is doing a great job by himself, there is no need for you to trouble yourself and come all the way down to Tokyo." Kuroko almost pleaded. It was his last ditch attempt to convince them not to come.
"Nonsense, since the boy has been working so hard, it is only right that I lend a hand. No more discussion. Remember to take care Tetsuya." Akashi hung up before Kuroko could make any other objections. The boy mentally sighed.
"That was Akashi-nii right?! Does that mean he's going to come over?!" Kyo said.
"More nii-sans to play with yay!" Rima shouted, her cute face stretched into a wide smile.
"He's kinda scary though. He always looks at me a lot." Taiga said, his voice trembled a bit. Ami pat him on the back.
"Don't worry! It's just because you"re cute! Mama always said we were cute so people like looking at us!" she said. Ami gave him a reassuring smile.
The movers came on time just like Akashi said they would and Kuroko was forced to let them into the apartment. They were also instructed to set it up and organize before leaving. Kuroko braced himself for the next few days. He just hoped that with enough soup, he would look well enough to force them to leave.
"Good luck, me." He said quietly.
After school, the rest of the miracles and Momoi all arrive in front of Kuroko's apartment. Kagami and Kise meet them right as Akashi is about to ring the doorbell. "Oh my blobs. I didn't think they would really come. Especially that creep Akashi. Who knew he'd be so fast. This is going to be a long next few days." The red-haired tiger thought to himself. Kagami sighed. He nodded greetings to the group in front of him but threw a glare and a challenge at Touou's ace.
"Hey Kagamin, Kise-kun! How are you? Surprised that we are all gathered here?" Momoi called and waved as she saw them.
"Momoicchi! I thought it'd be at least another day until you all arrived but I guess it was too much to hope for huh!" Kise laughed and cried. The others were already let inside the house by Kuroko and the 8 toddlers.
"I'm back Kuroko!" Kagami called and he went to set his things in the room he was using.
"Uwa! What's all this stuff? Where did the bunk beds and drawers come from?" Kagami yelled.
"Akashi-kun sent them for the Gom to use while they are staying here. Theres more in the other guest rooms." Kuroko explained it his light.
"Oh, I see. Makes sense. We all can't fit on the bed that was in here before." the teen reasoned.
"Hey Kuro-chin, when's dinner? I'm suuuper hungry after practice." The giant center whined and stuffed his mouth full of chips.
"Kagami-kun will get started on it right away but I think we should get the rooming situation decided first." Kuroko said.
"Momoi-san will be staying in my room alone. You all can just move into the other guest rooms however you want." Kuroko said.
"I refuse to stay with these loud obnoxious-" Midorima was cut off by Aomine.
"Whatever glasses, if you don't wanna share a room, sleep on the couch then." Aomine shoved past him into the first guest room and claimed the top bunk bed above Kagami.
"What! How dare you! I refuse! It would give me an uncomfortable crick in my neck, resulting in a poor performance the next day! If I must, I will take the bottom bunk in the next room." Midorima huffed with an annoyed voice. He quickly moved to the other room with Kise following him.
"I guess I'll be bunking with you huh Midorimacchi, Akashicchi and Murasakibaracchi will share the other room. It all works out!" Kise said. The giant and the emperor nodded in agreement and went to settle their things. The little kids had greeted them and were all crowding around the doorways staring while they waited to be played with.
"Hey, Hey Ahomine! I bet you can't beat me at the race game now! I've been practicing! Even nii-chan couldn't beat me!" Kyo bragged with a cheeky grin.
"Heh, but you always lost to me Kyo!" Aoi stuck his tongue out and ran away before his brother could catch him.
"I can beat you now!" Kyo yelled indignantly.
"Man, if you aren't the best I don't wanna fight a weakling" Aomine complained jokingly. "Hw about we have a tournament after dinner?"
"Yay! I wanna join in too!" Rima said.
"Yay! Yay! I like winning! I wanna play too!" Kamiko exclaimed excitedly. The others soon agreed that they want to participate.
"Alright, what should we do for the prize?" Aomine question.
"I wanna sleep next to nii-chan tonight! Whoever wins gets to sleep right next to nii-chan!" Sion said. The room went silent as everyone understood what the boy just said. Fire burned in every pair of eyes besides Kuroko's, who just deadpanned at the thought of what was to come after dinner.
"Oh? If that is the prize, I shall participate in this tournament of yours Daiki." Akashi said. His emperor eye was already active and he stared down the taller boy. The other members of the Gom and Kagami were all in the zone, the same thought crossed their minds.
"I can't pass up this chance to be intimate with Kuroko(And other variations of his name)". None of the children were willing to give up their spot either! They took turns before but ever since Kuroko got sick, he slept on a separate bed in the master bedroom. The kids ,in a way, also went into the zone.
"Alright, alright, calm down everyone. We should have dinner before you all do something rash. Murasakibara-kun, can you help Kagami in the kitchen?" Kuroko's voice rang out in the silence and shocked everyone back to normal.
"hmmmmm alriiight. Let hurry Kaga-chin, I want to crush everyone really fast and have Kuro-chin use my arm as a pillow." Murasakibara claimed. He then moved into the kitchen and began rummaging through the fridge.
"As if! You can't beat me!" Kagami yelled as he followed the purple haired giant. The fire was burning inside him and he refused to let one of the others get anywhere near Kuroko.
The rest of the inhabitants were glaring at each other but were eventually pulled away by the kids who had also calmed down, to play before dinner.
As Kuroko watched Kagami and Murasakibara in the kitchen and thought about the others in the living room, he decided to hold out for a couple more days before using the sleeping powder he had procured.
"it'd be easier if it were during the weekend. No one would question why the teens weren't at school and come looking." The calm male thought. He turned away from the kitchen and decided to sit down on the couch and think of a plan to escape the predicament his own siblings put him into.
PART 3
As the group sat down for dinner, Akashi called the teens to attention.
"We will be leaving at 8am tomorrow. Be ready by then or you will be left behind." The red head finished his sudden announcement and continued tucking into the seafood paella that was in front of him. The others, besides the kids, just sat there trying to comprehend what he had just said. It took a moment but Midorima was the first one to recover.
"Leaving for where Akashi? What do you mean?" the megane boy asked.
"Onsen." Was all he received in reply.
"Oh! It's to help Kuroko recover right! What a great idea Akashi-kun!" Momoi exclaimed. The poor girl soon fell into her fantasies of seeing Kuroko in a yukata after his soak and she nearly drooled at the thought of a steamy Kuroko.
"oh goodness, Tetsu-kun is a yukata. OR EVEN BETTER Kuroko still dripping water from the onsen. Can my heart take this? YES! I MUST SEE HIM." The thoughts and images raced through her mind. It seems like the others were thinking along the same lines.
"hnnn, troublesome, but Kuro-chin in a yukata is cute. We should eat dango after a soak Kuro-chin." Murasakibara was the first to say what everyone was thinking. It snapped the others back from their fantasies and they all continued dinner. Kuroko paid no heed to the comment. He was the only one still in his world thinking about his adorable siblings.
Dinner came to an end and thus began the tournament for cuddling Kuroko. As the group prepared for the first round, suddenly the power went out.
"Oh no. It seems we cannot play the game. I will just sleep on my own tonight then." Kuroko said in the most unconvincing apologetic tone. He sacrificed his siblings' wants but it was worth it for the sake of humanity. Imagine what would happen should one of the Gom win over the other. World war 3 would've started.
"Awwwwwwwwwwwww but I wanted to win!" the children collectively whined and pouted. The others weren't as vocal with their disappointment, save for Kise.
"NooooooooooOOOOooooOOOooOOo! There goes my chance!" the blond cried in despair.
"What a disappointment Tetsuya." Akashi eyed the other boy knowingly. He was also slightly relieved. He wasn't completely sure who would've won, but if it wasn't him or one of the little ones, he was going to give hell to whoever did win.
"Good night Tetsu-kun! Sweet dreams my little angels" momoi said.
"Night kuro-chin and mini-chins." The giant drawled before gathering his bedtime snacks
"Have a good evening ." The carrot said as he headed to the bathroom to wash up.
"Night." Aomine yawned and immediately crashed on his bunk.
"Gooood Niiight Kurokocchi and chibis! I'll see you in the morning!" Kise dived in for a goodnight kiss but was stopped by the tiger and emperor.
"See you tomorrow." Kagami also headed off to sleep.
"Good night everyone." Kuroko called.
"Night-Night!" The kids said tiredly.
Before the last member of the Gom left, Kuroko stopped him.
"Akashi-kun, where is the onsen located?" Kuroko asked him while the others left and went to bed.
"It's located in Kyoto, the Akashi group has connections to it. We will be arriving by private jet." Akashi answered.
"Alright thank you Akashi-kun. Good night." Kuroko said. He began walking back to the master bedroom with the kids.
Kuroko did not sleep. He remembered Kyoto being one of the areas listed on the papers Shigetsu gave him earlier and began planning his destinations. This was the perfect opportunity to do some searching by himself without having to leave the kids. He just had to make sure to not get caught leaving.
"Here are your rooms honored guests, lunch will be prepared and brought to your rooms in an hour. Please feel free to explore the ryokan. You also have exclusive use of the onsens and sauna. We also provide rejuvenating massages upon request." The attendant bowed and left the group.
"Wow! What a gorgeous room! I'm kinda sad to be in a room all by myself thought. How about we share a room Tetsu-kun?" Momoi latched onto his arm and asked sweetly.
"I'm sorry Momoi-san, I will be sharing a bigger room with the children, they tend to get rowdy so it will be difficult for you." Kuroko declined.
"aww boo." She pouted before going back to her room and getting her things ready.
"Nii-chan! Nii-chan! Look! Theres a pond outside!" Sion said the kids had opened the doors to the deck that led into the garden.
"Be careful! Don't get too close to the edge." Kuroko used the chance to hide his other bag from the kids. He also made sure to check the room for bugs and hidden cameras. The Akashi group may have connections and actually own the ryokan but it was still run by the yakuza clan in the area. Satisfied after he set up a disabling mechanism for the entire hotel, Kuroko went to his little siblings.
"Hey nii-chan, the fishy is like super big! It's like a monster goldfish! Look!" Kyo excited observed the koi fish pond.
"Yes they are like bigger gold fish, but these are called Koi fish." Kuroko answered. He crouched down next to the boy and peered into the pond as well. Kyo lost interest and went to join Sion in looking for bugs under the different bushes and shrubs nearby.
"Wow! Look at all the pretty flowers on the walls!" Rima was walking through the tunnel with wall flowers. The other girls soon joined her.
"It's so cool! The flowers are even on the ceiling!" Tsukimo exclaimed, she tried to reach and touch one of the hanging vines but she was too short.
"Here princess, let me pick a pretty flower for you!" Kise appeared behind her and plucked the purple flower she was reaching for. He tucked it behind her ear.
"Hehe thanks onii-san!" Tsukimo ran off to show her sisters her pretty flower.
"Kise-kun, please don't flirt with my sisters, you look like a pedophile." Kuroko appeared at his elbow and gave him a deadpan look.
"Kurokocchi! That's harsh! I'm not a pedo! My love burns only for you!" Kise tried to convince him but the boy had already walked away. Kise was left sulking in the dark corner.
While Kuroko was walking around the garden, it looked like he too was exploring and watching for his siblings but in truth, Kuroko was looking for vantage points for his planned night escape. Kuroko happened to stumble upon a hidden grove shielded from view by trees and long vines. It was a small clearing only about 6-8ft wide on all sides, but it was right next to the outer wall of the garden and hidden from sight, a perfect route to take to sneak out and sneak back in without alerting the others.
Midorima and Murasakibara had called everyone in for lunch. The others had also been wandering the garden. Aomine took to chasing Kagami with Nigou and Akashi had set up his shogi board on the deck in front of his room. The other milled about in the garden with the kids. Sion had made Aoi, Kyo, and Taiga form an exploration team with him to catch bugs. So far, they found different butterflies and ladybugs. Momoi helped the girls make flower crowns.
"We should go sightseeing after lunch! Let's go visit the temples!" Kise said to everyone.
"Yay! More exploring! I'm gonna play with Kami-sama!" Aoi declared
"Cool! I wanna play with Kami-sama too!" the cute little chibis all cheered in agreement. They've never played with Kami-sama before but their mama and papa always told them to greet Kami-sama at the temples.
"You cannot play with Kami-sama. God is not actually at the temples. You can only sightsee and offer prayers." Midorima burst their bubble.
"aww what!?" collective groans of disappointment came from all around the tables.
"Hey Midorima! You can't just tell them that!" Aomine argued with the other teen. Midorima just huffed and gave him an indignant look.
"Yeah! You have to be gentle and stuff! Geez." Kagami voiced his defense too.
"How about we go to the festival then? How does that sound?" Akashi said. The others shivered at his sweet tone. Only Kuroko's sibling would be able to evoke that emotion from the demon emperor.
"Yay! Yay! Festival!" Taiga was particularly happy, with festivals came fireworks.
"We should enjoy the onsen first and then go to the night time festival," Kise said.
"Agreed, after all the purpose of this trip was for the onsen" Akashi said.
The group finished their lunch and prepared for the onsen. They split into two groups with Momoi in charge of the girls.
(A/N Okay, so it's getting long and I wasn't sure if I should include the fluff hot springs scene in the story so I'll leave it at the bottom in case anyone wanted to read it.)
As the group walked along and enjoyed the festival, Kuroko increasingly lagged behind. He broke off from the group and hid in the darker alley behind the closed stalls near the edge of the festival. There, he stealthily climbed up a tree to scout for the hidden yakuza members who were undoubtedly watching from afar. Kuroko also kept an eye on his group to ensure they weren't near any of the yakuza. He moved closer to the yakuza and when he was within range he tried to search for any identifying marks, unfortunately, the members were wearing plain kimonos and only the generic full body tattoos that the majority of yakuza had were visible. Kuroko was ticked with annoyance. He was pressed for time as it is and not being able to identify the clan just made things more complicated. He had to sneak near them to attach a tracking device and a listening device. Creeping silently between the buildings of the temples, Kuroko neared the group. In his haste, Kuroko moved too fast and the chimes hanging on the doorways near them rang gently. The group immediately dropped all conversation and drew their hidden weapons. Kuroko hid when he saw the group suddenly move and he silently cursed when he realize it was his own doing. Now, the only way for him to get any information was to attack the group and allow one to escape with the tracking device attached to them. Kuroko took out a handkerchief he carried and used it to hide his hair and put on the toy rabbit mask Kyo had one for him earlier before making his move.
Out of thin air, a stone was hurled toward the group and bounced into the bush nearby. The yakuza were startled and jumped up to look after the projectile fired at them. The nearest yakuza member was a young man who looked no more than 23 years old, Kuroko chose him as his target. As Kuroko shoved him from behind, he slipped the small, discreet device into the obi sash around his waist. Before the man even hit the ground Kuroko was already engaging his next opponent. This time it was a woman. She was wielded two short swords. She turned in time to see the young man fall and called out "Young master!"
Kuroko took notice of that and filed the information in his mind. The woman took a swing horizontally with her two swords in hopes of cutting the unknown threat but Kuroko had already dodged and tried to sweep her feet from under her. The woman did not fall, she used her hands and flipped backwards to land on her feet again.
When Kuroko had not taken down the woman the first time, he switched targets again to engage a larger man a couple feet away. He was unaware of Kuroko and that gave the blunette an opening. Kuroko gave a running start and hit him directly in the stomach with and ignite punch. The taller man flew backwards and threw up a cloud of dust and dirt. His flying body took out one of the other yakuza members present. The other man came charging at the masked boy and began assaulting him. He was obviously skilled at unarmed combat.
They had traded many vicious blows. The opponent was wearing Kuroko down but he had done quite a bit of damage himself. Kuroko loosen u his muscles to prepare for the next attack while his opponent spit blood onto the ground. The man caught Kuroko off guard by throwing sand and managed to punch Kuroko in the stomach and went for a round house kick but Kuroko had already disappeared. All of a sudden, the yakuza member felt a searing pain in his jaw as his leg swung through empty air. He landed in an unconscious heap throwing up dust. The woman turned as she heard the horrible crunch and saw her comrade flying. She traced the direction of the attack backwards to Kuroko. Kuroko was winded from the punch and was still recovering feeling in his hand. The woman ran at him through the dust and attacked from the side with her sword, attempting to cut his neck but Kuroko managed to block her arm. She spun around and used her other sword to try again but Kuroko used the momentum of his block to send her spinning farther away from him. She would've left a deep cut in his cheek had he not been wearing a mask.
Kuroko let go of the woman's arm and jumped backwards. He quickly looked around and saw that the young man he attached the device to had already run off, probably at the urging of the woman. After all, it seemed he was the all-important young master. The woman was the only opponent left.
"Who are you!" She yelled
Kuroko ignored her question and just chose to continue his attack. From afar, the fireworks show had started. The woman looked up for a split second but that led to her defeat. Kuroko knocked her out with a hand to the back of her neck. She collapsed onto the dirt floor, luckily not on top of her swords. As Kuroko made his way back, he discarded his yukata into a nearby bin. They won't be able to recognize him from it now.
"Where's your yukata Tetsuya?" Akashi asked when he saw Kuroko coming from the direction of the bathrooms.
"I spilled juice on it and the stain and smell wouldn't go away so I threw it out Akashi-kun." He had been wearing casual clothes under it in preparation.
"Man Tetsu, that was a long bathroom break. The shrimps are always running around! Do they ever get tired? Geez." Aomine complained to Kuroko when he spotted the boy talking to the red head.
"I went to get juice and spilled it by accident. No. They never get tired. Even when sleeping." Kuroko answered in monotone.
"Ha Aomine, I didn't think you were so weak. Tired already." Kagami taunted while lifting one of the little ones into the air. Peals of giggles and laughed rang. Aomine got annoyed from being taunted so he grabbed Ami and Kamiko. He perched them on his shoulders and said "Isn't onii-sama better than that lame split eyebrow guy over there?" The girls laughed and nodded. while the two teens began arguing, Midorima came from one of the nearby stalls carrying Sion who was eating grilled squid on a stick.
Immediately, the other teens began teasing the tsundere. "I didn't know you like Sion that much Midorima-kun." Kuroko said.
"To think Shintaro would even buy a child that squid on a stick." Akashi remarked with a smirk.
"What! It's not like I particularly like him. He just asked me first!"
"Eh? Nii-san you don't like me?" Sion began tearing up. He shoved the squid in Midorima's mouth and jumped down from his arms.
The boy with glasses spluttered and took out the squid.
"Wait! I didn't mean!" But it was too late. Sion ran back to Kuroko and climbed into his arms. They boy was wiping his tears in the shoulder of his older brother while the perpetrator was still trying to make amends. It took a while, but Midorima was finally able to calm the boy down even though he suffered great embarrassment from his ex-teammates and their constant laughing and attempts to make the matter worse. The night of the festival was over and the group returned to their hotel to sleep.
Kuroko had put the children to bed and made sure that his friends were also out for the night before attempting to trace his target. The laptop and headset he brought with him were already connected to the device he planted in the young man earlier. He checked the map and the male seemed to be in the group at the moment. The area he located was quite far from the ryokan.
After planning out his route, Kuroko switched to listen to the recording from a few hours ago.
*A door slammed open* "Help…" Kuroko recognized the man's voice, he then heard feet pounding and voices shouting.
"Young Master! Who did this to you! I'll kill them!" A chorus of similar war cries sounded in the background.
"Shut up! All of you! We have to treat him first!" Minutes passed by as Kuroko listened to the bustle of people attending the man.
"Thank goodness it's only fatigue from running and a few bruises from falling. He's not seriously hurt" a female voice said. "Thank goodness. Now I just wonder what the hell happened! And where are the other members that went with him?!""Quiet down. We sent people to search already. They will be back with information."
A bald man with arms covered in tattoos burst into the room calling for help. The search group has brought back the other unconscious members and all need medical attention. The two rush out to help. The recording goes back to silence as the people leave the room.
Kuroko sighs. "So far I've only learned that they all lived and the boy has led me to their clan main house, nothing really vital" He continues to wait for more information but all heard was silence and then the recording ended. Looks like he will have to switch to the live feed. The silence was broken when Kuroko heard the door slide open and the rustle of clothes. He assumes someone came in to change the boy's kimono. Luckily it seems the device wasn't found. As the device is moved around the house, Kuroko is able to hear bits of conversations.
"Do you think it was the work of one of those idiot rebel clans?"
"Hell, just because the tournament is coming up they think stuff like this will slide pass the Kurokos."
"I swear I'll pummel whoever did this!" angry shouts of agreement roared from the others.
"It must've been a group to have overwhelmed this many people."
"We will find them"
"We will wait for the young master and the others to wake up to see what the people look like"
Kuroko decided that it was late enough and he'll just set it on recording again and sleep. The plan will be set in motion tomorrow night. The blunette shut off the computer and hid it away again. He settled into the warm futon and stared at the ceiling. It seems his parents weren't with this group, but he'll have to decide what to do with them after the attack. A pang of guilt settles in his stomach, he hurt those people for no reason. The rage that clouded his mind from the thought that they might have taken his parents prevented him from holding back. He sighed heavily before falling asleep.
The next day was relaxing with the group sight-seeing different areas and enjoying the onsen. Before dinner, Kuroko snuck into the room and used some of the sleeping powder he brought with him. The group sat down to eat, Kuroko secretly watched them to make sure they had all eaten the sleeping powder.
As Akashi took a bite of the sashimi he instantly realizes that it was laced with a drug. He turned to warn the group but everyone had already eaten too much for the warning to make a difference. As the dinner went on Akashi made sure to only eat little bits of the foods with the drug in it. He would find out who did this and their motive later. "The person will probably make their move tonight since they drugged us this late, I will wait for them. The Akashi will never lose to weak scum like this, and I must protect Tetsuya." Fury burned in Akashi as he became determined.
In the dead of night, the rustle of clothing could be heard. Kuroko had just finished getting ready and was preparing to sneak out. He successfully made it over the fence through the clearing and went on his way.
Kuroko only wore a mask and his black clothing because he doubted anyone would see him in the dark alleys he worked his way though. Kuroko made it to the clan house after 40 minutes of constant running and slowed at the gate to catch his breathe. Along the outer wall, there were large trees that allowed him easy access without alerting the guards.
Kuroko easily located the room with the young master after sneaking around. He snuck in and hurriedly gagged the sleeping young man. After much thrashing, Kuroko was able to calm the boy down.
"Hello. I am sorry to disturb you but there are things we must discuss." Kuroko moved to take off his mask. The young man's shocked yell was muffled.
"Ah. I should remove that if we are to negotiate."
"The Shadow! What are you doing here?"
"I am here to confirm whether or not you are one of the rebel clans."
"Oh. I see."
"I also apologize for attacking you and your guards yesterday. I was told that some clan was lashing out in these parts and came to investigate. I wasn't sure which clan it was so I retaliated indiscriminately."
"WHAT!? That was you!? Well, it explains why one person could take down the entire group." The young master rubbed his head.
"Do you pledge loyalty to the Kuroko clan and all their laws?" Kuroko asked, his tone was neutral but the tension in the air was deafening.
"Of-Of course! We, the Homura clan would never rebel or act out of line while the infamous Kuroko clan is still in power. Besides, the laws put in place benefit us more than they hurt us." He had straighten up and spoke with a serious tone although the fear was evident in his eyes.
"Good. Send my apologies to the others as well. I will leave you in peace now and be on my way. Pardon my intrusion." Kuroko said before disappearing into the night again.
"Wow, that was the shadow in the flesh. I have to report this to the other leaders. But it can wait until morning, who knows what will happen if I wake them up from their sleep." He sighed and tried to calm his fear and sleep.
Kuroko put on his mask again and took a taxi back to the hotel but stopped a few blocks away from it. He used the secret clearing to sneak back in again but what greeted him on the deck was a surprise he was not prepared for in the least.
"What are you doing in the garden so late and in those clothes Tetsuya?" Akashi's authorative voice rang out.
Too late, he realized what went wrong.
A/N DONE! I'm finally done with this chapter dear lord. It's over 9000 words. Thank you for reading! Please leave a review of your thoughts. I'll be back with chapter 10, um, eventually.
