Bolin waits about another good ten minutes before knocking on the ladies' room door to see if Opal is okay. She opens the door right after his call, giving him her sweet smile and tucking her hair behind her ear.

"You alright, sweetie?" Because he knows girls supposedly take long in the bathroom, (Mako told him why when he was twelve, and they both agreed never to bring up a certain specific conversation again) but this was just a bit too long for his taste to be without a tinge of concern. Did she get sick from something she ate? Did she feel sick before? Is it me?

She chuckles shyly in her ever modest way. "U-um yeah. Don't worry, Bo. I'm fine." The blush creeps up her tan cheeks, and her fidgeting doesn't go unnoticed by him.

"You sure?" he asks, and before she can make another excuse, he holds up his hand. "'Cause I know I suck at reading most people, but you're...not most people. You're everything to me, Opal. If you're sick..."

She shakes her head. A sigh escapes her mouth. "I'm not sick, really. I just have my period." she shrugs, slightly embarrassed. "Cramps and stuff. Let's just get back to the others, okay?"

But Bolin just has to push the issue. "You're- you're what?" His face pinches together. "Cramps? Are you hurt? I know that jump was a long way down-"

It's her turn to hold up her hand to quiet him. "Bo," she says straight face. "My period. You know, girl stuff- once a month? I am a girl, you know."

His face hearts up. "OH! Right-duh!" he sputters. She raises an eyebrow. "Totally. I just...am..."

"-Gonna stop talking now?" Opal asks.

He bobs his head up and down. "Yes, ma'am." And he loops his arm in hers.

"Let's go for a walk in the park,' she offers. "It's a nice night. Oh, and maybe we can get some of those pau buns they sell."

"You know those have meat in them...right?" He gives her a look.

"That's the point," she whispers back, and drags him along.

Bolin wouldn't have it any other way.

Hey, guys. I know this is short and crappie, but I just needed to get back into the swing of things for this fic. I promise more chapters from Opal's POV soon, okay? Thanks :)
