Disclaimer: I own nothing.

So, it's a three-way tie! I'll cover each one in the next three chapters. This is going to be interesting.

I do intend on adding more smut. Hopefully before my plan goes into effect. Yes, I have a plan. I always do.

Anyway, first things first, the Vashta Narada!

Sit back and enjoy!

Love always,

Avoline

Rider slowly blinked awake to find himself still in Jack's arms. He smiled and nestled himself closer to the larger man.

"I'm awake too, ya know," Jack mumbled. "And I don't think you can handle another round just yet, baby boy." The blond looked up to meet the lovely blue eyes of his lover. "We need to go on another adventure anyway. It doesn't seem like your dad is going to save the universe just yet." Rider whined and snuggled against the smooth chest.

"But I don't wanna get out of bed," he whimpered.

"I know, baby boy," the brunette chuckled. "But we've got to. Someone has to save the universe." The younger man pouted as Jack got out of bed, and he shortly followed. Jack was right; someone has to save the universe. Might as well be him. He walked to the closet and reached for a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

"You know I'm just gonna rip that one to shreds once we're done, right," Jack teased.

"That would make two shirts that you'd owe me," Rider shot back. Jack laughed and followed the blond out of the room.

"It would be so worth it."

Rider braced himself against the console as the TARDIS lurched to one side. He saw Jack cling to the railing and narrowly avoid falling over it.

"I'm okay," the older man shouted, launching himself to the console and pulling down one of the levers. "Keep flying!" The blond nodded and pushed another lever up, causing the ship to rock to one side. This time, both men went flying. Rider grabbed his boyfriend's arm as the brunette gripped the rail.

"I believe we've landed," he stated sarcastically. Jack laughed, pulling both of them back to their feet. "Let me go get Rogue ready and we'll ride out." Jack nodded and started searching for his coat. The blond jogged through the corridors until he came across the stables. "Rogue! Come on, girl. Time for action." The equine stuck her head out and whinnied at him. "Watch your language! You know better." He opened the stall and slung himself up on her back. Jack could use a good bare-back ride.

He chuckled at the double-entendre. Only he could think something dirty when thinking about something totally different.

He trotted up to the console room, stopping long enough to allow Jack to figure out how to get up on the animal.

"No saddle," the brunette questioned once he was mounted. (Head out of the gutter, Rider.)

"Not this go round," he answered, trotting out the doors. He stopped and looked around. "Seems as though we're in some sort of forest."

"No shit," Jack replied sarcastically. "Not many trees, though." Brown eyes scanned the surroundings.

He froze when he noticed something that he knew meant trouble.

"Jack."

"Yes?"

"Do me a huge favor."

"Sure, baby boy."

"Count the shadows. Keep counting the shadows and don't ever stop."

They galloped through the trees, and Rider prayed that they weren't leading the Vashta Narada straight to a village. If they did, it would be devastating. But what could he do if that were the case? He wasn't his father. He wasn't the Doctor. He was simply the Rider, coming across things and riding it out. He could be the most hated or the most loved person ever.

He heart another set of hoof beats, and he slowed Rogue down to a walk.

"Who's there," he shouted. "Come out and show yourself!"

"I don't think they followed us," Jack stated.

"Good," the blond responded. "Now to figure out who's there."

"Me," a young voice called. They turned to see a boy, not much older than nine or ten, ride up to them on a massive black horse. "My name is Tsen."

"I'm the Rider, and this is my companion, Jack," the older man greeted.

"They aren't following you," Tsen explained. "We've sprayed the trees with a chemical that will keep them at bay. If you are a Time Lord, as your name implies, it would be wise to leave now." Rider's brow knitted together and he rode alongside Tsen.

"And why is that," he inquired. "Why not spray the rest of the trees and drive the Vashta Narada out completely?" The boy shrugged.

"The rest of the village is too scared," he answered. "They simply want to protect the village and that's it. The rest of the villages are gone."

"Time to change that," Jack piped in.
