Hello readers! Thank you all so much for all the reviews! I Hope you all enjoy the new chapter!

Chapter 7

Luke's POV

After we ate, we left the diner and found a park. We took turns taking watch as the other one slept. In the morning, we hurried to another little shop, and we bought a bunch of food, waters and a map.

Outside the store, we stuffed out bags full of the food.

"Here Luke." Blake said, handing me a dagger.

"Thanks."

We grabbed our bags and headed out of town.

"What's the camp like?" I asked after an hour or so of silence.

"Don't know. I've never been there. "

"How did you hear about the camp?"

"Another demigod told me about it."

"And it's safe from monsters?"

"Yeah. I heard that they have these cabins separated by parents. I could live with other children of Athena. "

"I wonder who my father is."

"Maybe you'll find out once we get to camp."

"I just hope my sisters alright." I said as our group

"Don't worry. I'm sure she is."

I nodded and we continued to walk in silence.

"In the next town, we can catch a train or a bus. That'll help us get there faster." Blake said.

"Do we have enough money to buy tickets?"

"Yeah. I have maybe like $500 or so. I've been saving money for years and my dad gave me money too."

"Your dad gave you money to travel on your own?"

"Well not at first. I was traveling with him but once the monsters started attacking, I ran off one night. I was worried about him getting hurt so I took the money and the weapons he said are special for these monsters and I ran off. Now I'm here with you."

"Do you miss your dad?"

He stopped walking and looked at me.

"All the time. But I had to protect him."

Kendi's POV

"Where are we going Riley?"

"A place."

"What place?"

"A place that's fun."

"Why?"

"To keep you safe."

"Why?"

Riley laughed and looked down at me.

"You sure ask a lot of question."

"Sorry." I replied.

"I'll tell you what. We've been walking for a while now so why don't we stop and take a break. I could tell you another story."

"Yes!" I squealed.

"Alright. What story do you want me to tell?"

"Tell me more about Rilan."

"Alright."

He sat down clearing some twigs and stuff for me to sit.

"Well you know how the boy fell asleep under the tree and is now sent to help someone. What do you want to know about Rilan?"

"Where's Rilan now?"

He thought about it a few moments before replying. "Well a man, a very powerful man asked Rilan to help protect someone. This someone has an important thing to do in the future and Rilan is helping keep them safe."

"What do they have to do in the future?"

"This person is going to be a part of a huge war."

"Really?"

"Of course. You'll see. Someone else will save the day and end the war. But this person will help end the war. This girl will be a hero."

"Girl?"

"Yes. Rilan was sent to protect a girl. Are you hungry?"

I nodded.

"I think I have some food I can make. Alright?"

"Yes. But Riley, does the girl know about the war?"

"Not yet, but she will."

"How?"

"Rilan will train her and tell her stories about her destiny." Riley replied, handing me a bowl of soup.

"Is she brave?"

"Very."

"Will I ever get to meet her?"

"Maybe one day.

"Wh…"

"Eat Kendi." Riley said cutting me off. "I'll tell you more stories later. I promise."

"Okay."

Luke's POV

When morning came, we made our way to a bus station. We bought tickets taking us as far as Pennsylvania. Then we could take another there to Connecticut.

"The bus will be leaving soon. Come on Luke."

I followed Blake onto the bus.

"You don't think we'll be attacked soon do you?"

"I hope not Luke."

"Hey can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"How did you find out who your mom was?"

He didn't answer right away. For a moment I thought he hadn't heard me.

"I was walking home from school one day when this giant dog attacked me. It chased me down the street and no one saw it. No one could see through the mist. They just thought I was running away from a small harmless puppy. Anyway, I just kept running and screaming until my dad ran out of the house swinging a sword. He stabbed the dog in the side and it turned to dust. I started freaking out, but my dad brought me inside. He said it's time you know the truth. Your mother didn't pass away when you were young he explained. And he went on to tell me about the gods and how he met mom."

"How did they meet?"

"Well, he said they had met when he was in college. He was 25 and he met this beautiful smart woman. Soon after she left my dad with the son she had created."

"Wait you were created?"

"Yeah. It's a complicated children of Athena thing?"

"Okay."

"Yeah it's not as bad as it sounds."

I nodded and looked out the bus window.

Don't worry Kendi.

I'm coming for you.

Kendi's POV

In the morning, Riley woke me up.

"Here eat some oatmeal and we can start walking again."

"Riley?"

"Yes Kendi?"

""Rilan was going to train this girl right?"

"Yes he is."

"Can you train me like Rilan will train her?"

He looked surprised but smiled.

"Of course Kendi. We can start training after you eat."

"What will we do?"

"You'll see. Just eat."

After I finished, riley cleaned up the bowls with some water from his water bottles.

"Alright Kendi, I want to train you with the bow you had with you when you found me."

"Okay!"

I jumped up and grabbed the bow and arrows.

"You see this tree?" He asked patting a tree in front of me. "I want you to shoot it."

I waited until he moved away and held the bow in my hand. Pulling the arrow back, I released it and watched it sail through the air landing on the ground in front of the tree.

"Close. Here." He stood behind me. "Lower your elbow like this." He moved my arm and helped me position my feet. "Try shooting it again Kendi."

I let the arrow fly and it connected with the tree.

"Very good Kendi. Do it again."

I sent another arrow flying repeating what I had just did.

"Wonderful Kendi! Let's try making it harder. Here back up a little bit."

I nodded and backed up a bit.

"Okay shoot another arrow."

"This one flew and connected with the tree.

"You're getting good Kendi. Tomorrow we can practice more. Go get the arrows so we can start walking again."

"Where are we going to go?"

"A place."

"What place?"

"You'll see."

"When?"

"Soon?" He replied laughing.

I picked up the arrows and pulled the ones out of the tree with Riley's help. Then we packed up and headed out farther into the woods.
