I know, I know. Awwwww! I watch enough DW each day to know the Doctor would have found a way to quickly made her dream come true.

So,who's ready to hear about the morning after?

Sit back and enjoy!

Love always,

Avoline

The Doctor sleepily raised his head as Rose padded into the console room. Neither one had slept during the night, each one taking turns with Pete. He had almost forgotten in his old age how tough having little babies was.

"If only I had taught you how to drive this thing," he muttered, "I'd go catch a nap while you keep us from floating into the sun." She giggled, a sound so beautiful to his ears that he wished he could make the TARDIS sound like that.

"Why not park in Cardiff like you used to," she inquired. "I'm sure it won't hurt to sit there while you sleep." He smiled and kissed her cheek.

"If we weren't already parked on a meteor, that would be a wonderful idea," he whispered. She lightly smacked his arm. "We should be okay for a while, so we can go back to bed."

"Thank goodness," she groaned. "I am worn out." He smiled and kissed her cheek.

"Then come to bed, love," he cooed. "I won't let anything bother you unless it's your turn with Pete." They both let out a sleepy laugh before walking together back to the bedroom. He watched as she went and kissed Pete's little forehead. As soon as she crawled into bed, her pulled her close. "I'm so glad to have you back, Rose."

"I'm glad to be back," she breathed. "Being in the TARDIS, knowing that you'll be here when I wake, it's all like coming home for the first time. And I love it. And I don't want to ever leave it again." He kissed the top of her head.

"You won't have to," he soothed. "I won't make you. Never again." She snuggled against him, and he tightened his hold.

"Good to know," she whispered as she dozed off. He smiled down at her.

It was good to know. It was good to know that she needed him as much as he needed her. It was good to know that, in a way, he had help make her dream come true. She was a mother, and would be the only mother Pete would remember. She would raise him as her own, with him by her side. They would become his parents, and he would be their child.

He blinked back tears. He knew he loved her. There was no question about it. But he never realized how much he needed her until now. She was his everything. She was the glue holding him together, and he could finally sleep knowing she was safe in his arms. He couldn't explain why he needed her so much. All he knew was that he did, and he would never allow anything to separate them again. She was home, and he would make sure she stayed.

He gently petted her hair as he finally got control of his emotions. She had always had that effect on him. And he didn't mind. It reminded him that he was alive. It reminded him that both of his hearts still worked. It reminded him that the Time Lords were just as human as the humans.

His eyes slid closed before he could stop them. He had forgotten how exhausting babies could be. And Pete was still adjusting to his new parents. There had been so many changes for the little guy, and he was only a few months old. The Doctor smiled to himself as he thought of all the adventures the child would have, and all the knowledge he would acquire. He would be wise beyond his years, and he would be smart because of it. Maybe he would run from danger, not to it.

He smiled as sleep drug him under. She could find solace in the fact that her new child would never be in danger.

His eyes cracked open at the sound of her cooing to the baby. He chuckled a bit, enjoying the sound and the moment. It had been so long since he had last had a baby around full time. He had forgot how little sleep one gets when the tiny lives are around, but he couldn't bring himself to be upset by the lack of rest. He almost missed it, his own children gone, and he felt something he hadn't felt in ages but couldn't quite put into words.

"I didn't mean to wake you," she whispered as she crawled back in bed. He gently wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close.

"It's okay, Rose," he answered. "The baby would have probably woke me anyhow." His lips pressed against her head. "I almost forgot how wonderful it is to wake up to a cooing baby, or mother." She snuggled into his chest. "I missed it. And before you start, I wouldn't change anything about you. Not a single thing." He kissed the top of her head. "You're perfect as you are."

"You've always said that," she responded.

"And I always will, cause it's true," he responded. "You've always been perfect in my eyes. And you always will be. I know rule number one is the Doctor always lies, but I can't lie to you, Rose." He glanced down to see she had dozed back off. "I could never lie to you, and I never have. I never will, either. You have way too much trust in me for me to do that."
