Hey, Guys... Long time no read, huh? Well... I'm back :D (She said to hopefully a not so empty room) I'm really sorry for not posted as much since, well, last October. I wanted to and I have to tell you, throughout all of those months I've had all of these ideas running through my brain for this fanfic, so now I can finally put it on paper! Err... Google Drive!
This is Part 1 of this two part chapter, the next should be coming up shortly, maybe a few days. I'll try to keep it on schedule;) Oh, and another thing... I GOT INTO A COLLEGE AND I START IN AUGUST! When I recieved the email I was so crying, hahaha. And then when I got the letter I started crying again! Oh, geeze. If you want, you can go ahead and tell me about the universities or colleges or any type of schooling you Football Heads are going through, or been through, because I'm in an education kind of mood. :D
I don't own Hey, Arnold! or these songs:
Taylor Swift- Love They Haven't Thought of Yet- Youtube account: SongsOnly4you
Grey's Anatomy-Netflix (I highly recommend this!)
Taylor Swift- Jump then Fall- Youtube account: richel500 (It's the live version from her performing Dancing with the Stars)
My sincerest apologies and as a gift I bestow upon you a collection of rare Taylor Swift songs on Youtube. Please don't try to ban the Youtuber. He or she is only trying to give swifties an insight of Taylor only a few get to see. I ask that you'll be respectful to the Youtube accounts I had passed to you in a way Arnold would. Oh! And the dancers are the ones in the story, and the lyrics go along with it. So you could pause and watch the amazing dancers, and read in between, I don't know. It is your mind, so do what you choose. AND thank you again FullofHeart12! It was sweet of you to show me the URL. Okay, enough rambling, R&R, and thank you again!***
Chapter 7 Jump then Fall into the Untouchable Part 1
Helga giggled softly to herself while she gazed into the crowd. The lights were turned down low and the only source of light available were the lit candles in the middle of each table. She was treading dangerous waters into her music and it's getting closer to the incident of what happened between her, Arnold, and, dreadfully, Lila Sawyer. After that comes more chapters of her life with two other boys she cares about and it worries her to no end. Helga knows only Brett and Arnold are here to listen to her songs, but she wants the boy who helped her through everything to be here too; she hasn't spoken to him for a few months and it was getting to her. Sure he moved out of the schools district, but it isn't like he's on the other side of the world, just the other side of town. Helga pushed those thoughts away from her and focused on the 'now'. She smiled brightly, "Thank you so much, thank you!" The crowd cheered for her and Phoebe as she also thanked them through her microphone by the piano.
Helga casually walked to center stage, the main stage light following her, and she was smiling. On the inside though, her stomach doing semi-flips and Phoebe was the only person in this room who knew why. Helga was pulling herself together to delve into the sentimental part of her and Arnolds past. "Well ladies and gentlemen; it's time to cross the threshold of my first love." Her classmates gasped, except for Arnold, Lila, and Phoebe, and moved to the edge of their seats. "I guess we'll skip a few months and start it the summer before junior year." Helga, who was trying to avoid eye contact with the blonde boy seated beside Phoebe and biting his lip, glared at the red haired teenage girl with Arnolds Letterman jacket wrapped around her shoulders when she spoke the next sentence bitterly.
"The summer of bliss before it was stolen away and it all went wrong." Helga took a deep breath and waited a second; reliving the past through her lyrics in front of a crowd this big is going to be the biggest challenge she's ever faced. 'You can do this Helga, you can do this,' she thought to herself, willing everything in her to continue her performance.
It was hitting her fast through her mind like a picture show. Helga remembers everything from those few short months: his smile, their laughter, his truck, the lake, the stars, and all of the happiness they shared together…
***Flashback***
Helga sat on the floor at the foot of her couch, her notebook next to her in view and her guitar on her lap. She was strumming softly to herself and singing a few verses, softly, trying to find the right beat and timing to make her song perfect. Phoebe watched her from above, lying on the couch, smiling peacefully at the sight of her best friend in such concentration, and then continued to finish editing Gerald's English essay. They liked the easy days together whenever Arnold and Gerald weren't around, sure it fun with them, but girl time was important to them. Phoebe was scanning the sentences for anymore grammatical errors when suddenly Helga suddenly exclaimed, "Yes, finally!"
Phoebe slid off of the three seater couch, putting aside the papers, next to Helga, eagerly waiting to hear Helga's new song. Helga's smile could be seen from underneath her blonde bangs as she positioned her notebook of songs in front of both her and her best friend since preschool. "Okay, ready?" Phoebe nodded. She smiled and started strumming but then stopped suddenly, "Be honest, okay?" Helga received an impatient look which she answered with sticking her tongue at her. "Okay, okay. Criminy," She continued strumming, louder this time, and said, "It's called 'Love They Haven't Thought of Yet'."
I want it all to appear before my eyes
When he smiles
Phoebe grinned supportively as she listened to her friends' voice, as she always does whenever Helga performs her songs to her in private. Helga admitted to being slightly insecure about her voice, but Phoebe always assured her that it's beautiful.
Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think Romeo
Would be my kind of guy
I want a love that's sweeter than roses
And for me this is how it's gonna be like
There's a fairytale guy
And he whispers sweet lullabies
And the music plays from nowhere
As we dance in the pale moonlight
With candles and fireflies all night
Everybody thinks about love
I want love they haven't thought of yet
She gave Helga thumbs up while she watched her strum the chords on her guitar. 'It's amazing how she can come up with such rhymes in her songs, and I no time at all! Then there's the chords to handle and the sound… wow.' Phoebe thought to herself, listening to the music fill the room. Phoebe knows she'll be forever grateful for Helga trusting her this much.
Here on the couch with a box of chocolates
That I bought myself
Phoebe laughed at this and took a piece of chocolate from the heart shaped box on the coffee table Helga picked up from the corner store on their drive to her house with Phoebe. She bought them because she was "craving love chocolate" and she knows that she "doesn't have someone to give it to her," and then they both laughed warm heartedly.
I'll wait it out but sometimes my patience
Just needs a little help
They looked to each other and laughed a bit silently, both smiling widely.
It's what you get when your heartstrings are so tied
I don't regret it 'cause you know it nee-
Helga pursed her lips a bit at her slip of her fingers on the fret but then shrugged went again, much to Phoebes happiness. She looked at Helga's song on the notebook and decided to sing softly along with Helga during the chorus.
I don't regret it because it needs to be perfect like
There's a fairytale guy
And he whispers sweet lullabies
And the music plays from nowhere
As we dance in the pale moonlight
With candles and fireflies all night
Everybody thinks about love
I want love they haven't thought of yet
Helga was really happy that she and Phoebe have something to share with each other and that Phoebe gave her this outlet for her emotions. It has helped her when she was a child and now it is helping her even more as a teenager. Helga has to admit it's better than being the only person to carry out little schemes on her own, now she has a guitar and her best friend. She has Arnold, but it's not like she and him could just discuss their feelings like it's the weather.
I want my own storybook ending
We'll make it up as we go
There's a fairytale guy
And he whispers sweet lullabies
As the music plays from nowhere
As we dance in the pale moonlight
With candles and fireflies all night
Everybody thinks about love
I want love, they haven't thought of yet
She grinned as she finished the song.
I want love they haven't thought of yet
Helga was strumming the ending with a wistful smile on her face, really wishing her fairytale love will come true. She'll wait forever for Arnold if that's what it takes, but her patience is wearing thin, and she doesn't know if she'll go full on FTI mode on him.
As soon as the final note was played, Phoebe started clapping excitedly, "Oh, Helga! That was a really great song! It only took you about twenty minutes to write too!" Phoebe always became overwhelmed after witnessing Helga's talent, it was refreshing for her to know the amount of trust her best friend gives her.
Helga smiled back, "Really? Thanks! I messed up before the second chorus though, but that's fine, I guess." Helga closed her thickening blue notebook and rested her guitar against the coach. She reached for her binder and pulled her last essay that she has to turn in for her sophomore English class, and then junior year AP English will make its appearance.
"It's fine that you messed up that one time in a song you just made, and you kept going, so that's good." Phoebe gave Helga a sincere smile, "Your music really is amazing."
"Thanks, Pheebs," Helga replied, glad that she has Phoebe all to herself this afternoon before Gerald and Arnold come over. "You're an amazing friend… and girlfriend since you're practically doing Gerald's essay." She stuck her tongue out at her friend.
Phoebe stuck her tongue out back, "I'm not doing the work for him," she answered back matter-of-factly. "I'm just giving constructive criticism, grammar help, spelling corrections, and advice on sentence and paragraph placement." Phoebe continued to make corrections with her red pen, choosing to ignore Helga's raised plucked eyebrow and her are-you-kidding-me smirk.
The blonde shook her head, "Whatever helps you sleep at night, Pheebs." Helga continued to make her corrections on her essay, adding in a few suggestions that their teacher, Coach Lady, who is in charge of the track team, had given her when Helga had asked if anything in her essay could be improved upon. "Just make sure he doesn't take advantage of that smart brain of yours; I need it so I can pass the Geometry final tomorrow."
Phoebe chuckled, "Helga, I'll sleep better knowing that Gerald will be with us as a junior next year. You all may be living in the now, but I am already having little dreams of us in our ugly yellow cap and gown set and taking group pictures together with our diplomas…"
Phoebe's voice trailed off and Helga looked up to her.
"Oh, Pheebs, for Pete's sakes, we're sophomores!" Helga exclaimed, already sensing that Phoebe is getting emotional about graduation. Helga, personally, couldn't help but want to leave already, and she knows Phoebe is ready to go too, but isn't ready to think of being separated from their little group of best friends- Arnold, Gerald, Phoebe, and Helga. "We still have two years of partying, dating, hanging out, causing ruckus, and leaving our marks on this town, so don't start the going away party just yet, okay?" Helga gave a little hopeful smile and supportive nudge to her best friend.
Phoebe gave a halfhearted giggle, "Un-planning." They laughed together and continued to work on their respective essays.
It was silent for a while, both wanting to get everything done and complete. Procrastination is a terrible and addictive thing and everything is all due tomorrow for everyone in their grade. An hour passed when Phoebe received a text that Gerald and Arnold are on their way over to Helga's house with food.
"So what type of pizza did they bring?" Helga asked. She was gathering her guitar, her pick, and her lyric book and heading up the stairs with Phoebe behind her. "Arnold should know what I like, but I know Gerald would try to convince him to get something else." Helga casually rolled her eyes.
Phoebe opened the door, "I'm not sure, Gerald had just said pizza," she chuckled as she sat on Helga's bed. "But I'm sure Arnold wasn't deterred. You remember what happened last week when all they brought was cheese with no meat on it at all."
The blonde made a pretend sick face as she laid back next to where her best friend was sitting and then laughed shortly. "I just don't get it, Pheebs. Geraldo can just pick off the sausage, or the pepperoni, or the pastrami slices, or the meat lovers combo! What is it with him and only liking cheese? He's not even vegan!" Helga turned to Phoebe, expecting an answer; an incredulous look on her face.
She laughed at the look she was receiving from Helga, "I don't know!" They both chuckled and Phoebe gave a sideways look at the blue eyed blonde.
Helga noticed. "What?" She asked shortly, raising a plucked right eyebrow.
Phoebe cut to the chase, "So when are these little hangouts going to start being double dates? Just wondering."
Helga blushed lightly. "Phoebe!" She huffed, "Look, I don't know. I'm tired of waiting on him, but I know I'm too chicken to do anything about it. It all sucks."
Before Phoebe could offer any comfort, the sound of the front door opening and closing with the smell of pizza wafting through the air had the girls getting up and walking out of the room. Phoebe gave Helga a comforting gesture on her arm and Helga answered with a half-smile. When they reached the living room they were met with the sight of their favorite boys in Hillwood taking out homework and opening a box of what seemed to be one-fourth cheese, one-fourth pepperoni, one-fourth sausage, and one-fourth pastrami. They were talking about their upcoming Geometry test tomorrow and if they failed, how that would affect the official start of summer break the day after.
"I know my dad will kill me if I fail, or get anything lower than a B," Gerald told Arnold, stressed. "He wants me to get a lot of scholarships so when I go to college we won't have to worry about money. He was all," Gerald deepened his voice a bit to sound exactly like his fathers, "Gerald, if you don't get a B or higher on this test, and this determines your grade for the year, you're staying home for the first two weeks of summer while your friends go camping and do other things without you. I don't care how unfair you think it is; that is what's going to happen. How am I supposed to pay the bills around here if I'm worrying about your way to college? Now it's still light out, go upstairs and study by the window."
Gerald groaned.
Phoebe went to Gerald and gave him a hug to where he was sitting and Helga sat by Arnold, grabbing a slice of her favorite pizza. "Don't worry Gerald," Phoebe comforted. "I'll help you study. And even if you didn't get a B or an A, I'll stay with you." Phoebe gave him another hug and reassuring smile.
Gerald returned it back to her, "Thanks, Pheebers. You're the best."
Helga and Arnold just looked to each other, took a bite of their preferred pizza, and shrugged. They knew whenever Gerald and Phoebe were together they always entered their own world. Arnold never minded, he was glad they have each other. Helga thought it was sweet, and over nauseating, but sweet. She was happy her best friend found someone, but it still sucked that she's single and wanting this 'hangout' with her friends tonight to be a double date. Helga internally rolled her eyes at herself and the gaze between Gerald and Phoebe like they were looking into each other's secret soul. "Hey, Buckos," They looked at her. "Can we get to studying? I'm sure Geraldo and I could really use you right now Pheebs and Football Head also, if he wants." Helga raised an eyebrow at the cornflower haired teen with a bit of sauce on the corner of his mouth. Helga smirked and pointed to mouth.
Arnold wiped his mouth, "Actually Helga, I need some help with my essay. Do you think you could help add some tone with it? Coach Lady said I don't really put enough voice into my writing, and since you're at the top of the class, I decided to ask you." Arnold half smiled at
Helga's widening eyes and two raised eyebrows, "If you want?"
Helga shook her head slightly and rolled her eyes in fake agitation, "Well if it'll help you pass your sophomore year, why not Arnoldo? But I need help from Phoebe first."
He nodded, "Of course."
Helga looked down at her vibrating phone and saw that there was a text from Phoebe saying: Whipped. She playfully scowled at the laughing/fake coughing coming out of Phoebe's mouth.
With that said they all took out their Geometry textbooks and listened to Phoebe as she went over the last two chapters they were taught in school, and that they're going to test over tomorrow. Yesterday, Arnold and Phoebe retaught their Biology lessons to Helga and Gerald, while Gerald helped with Social Studies and Speech for the tests they had today. All four had passed with a B or higher for all classes, including gym, now they just have to worry about Art, Geometry, turning in their essays and watch it get graded in front of them, and then they're home free with study hall. All four are excited for their summer vacation.
They planned to go to the lake they went to their freshmen year for the senior party incident, but instead of staying in a house they are planning on camping out there for a few a days or a lot of days. It all depends on how they feel about being out there.
By the time they finished up their studying it was close to nine-thirty and Mr. Pataki and Mrs. Pataki walked through the front door with tired looks on their faces and briefcases in their hands. They had a three hour long meeting with a company that might expand their business to Oregon or to Idaho, involving a commute to both places during the summer.
They set their workload near the wall of the living room, greeted the teenagers, and sat on the couch exhausted. Helga looked at her parents and then at her friends and rolled her eyes. "Well I guess study time is over and since the pizza is demolished, you guys gotta go." Helga picked up the empty box and headed towards the kitchen to set it beside the trash can and then came back with a cleaning cloth and spray in case any grease wound up on the table.
"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Pataki, how was work?" Arnold asked as Gerald and Phoebe collected the books, papers, and notes. Arnold shook Big Bob's hand firm and confidently and Helga admired how a simple handshake can gain the respect of her father. She knew Bob didn't exactly enjoy the time with any of her close friends, and the fact the Arnold is a teenage boy didn't help much, but she and Big Bob knew Arnold was a good guy. Big Bob just didn't want to give Arnold an inch that could be lead to a mile. Helga didn't understand fully of this reasoning, but Miriam had reassured her that it's just a dad thing; making sure Arnold wouldn't do anything that he would regret. Helga just rolled her eyes and said, 'As if Arnold would even have the chance.' With that answer, Miriam just smirked to herself.
Miriam, half awake, replied, "Oh, just fine. Those sharks tried to take advantage of us but we got them handled. Isn't that right B?" Miriam yawned slightly, stood up and gently patted her husband's head, and then went to the kitchen to heat up a frozen pizza for her and Bob.
"That's right Miriam." Big Bob sat up a bit, took the remote, and changed it to check the score of latest game. "Those damn vultures are trying to take away my company and that's just not going to happen." He turned to Arnold, as if he was supposed to leave, but was still there anyways. "So, uh, Arnold, how you been? Still practicing that hit for baseball? Don't think just because you won state this year with Helga here," Helga smirked triumphantly and Bob mirrored it. "You can get away with slacking off until your next season. Junior year is going to be the toughest year for you all and if you can't play in a game to win because of your grades you let down your whole team." Big Bob was about to continue his rant until Helga stopped him.
"Dad," Helga dragged out. "You know Arnold's alright with his grades. Leave him alone." She gave an aggravated look while Arnold laughed silently to himself.
Big Bob huffed, "Alright, Alright. Just keep practicing so next year will be a piece of cake."
Big Bob stood up, stretched, and was about to leave but stopped since he remembered something, "Oh, yeah, Helga?" She looked up to her father with a raised brow as she was putting the coffee table back into place. "Make sure you work on that jumper this summer, so take that ball with you when you all leave tomorrow. The site you'll be at should have a hoop. Not the best court, but it's the woods, so it's to be expected. I'm gonna eat in the kitchen with your mom, and then head to bed. You should too." With that, he left the room of teenagers.
"I think that's our cue," Gerald said, rubbing the back of his neck. "We should go, Pheebers, I don't wanna get you home late." Phoebe nodded and went to hug Helga goodbye while Gerald gathered his and his girlfriend's book bag and went to give Arnold their usual handshake. After a few goodbyes and "see-ya-later"'s, Gerald and Phoebe left the purple house hand in hand talking about getting a coffee in the morning before school.
Helga and Arnold stood in the living that seemed to have shrunk over the years. They are both near each other's height, reaching a decent five eleven, and still growing. Arnold hoping he'll be taller, or as tall, as Helga and not just his hair doing all the height business. He never admitted it, but he is a bit insecure about his height since most of his friends reached their growth spurts in middle school. Stinky is a good six-five, the tallest in the group, and Arnold just can't believe it. Helga was always told by Phoebe she should model but after being the It Girl in the fourth grade she knows she doesn't need fame just for being something good to look at. Helga always thought that sounded depressing, but the life time Dinoland pass is a plus.
"So," Helga sat on the couch, tucking her feet under her, "Are you heading out too?" Helga didn't want him to go, but it's not like she could stop him. She wanted to talk with him, learn more about him than what she already knows.
As it turns out, Arnold feels the same way. "I was wondering if I could stay a while longer. We can finish up that episode of Grey's Anatomy from yesterday?" They couldn't finish the latest season finale because Arnold was called home for dinner. He had invited Helga over and they enjoyed Salsa Night at the Sunset Arms.
She smiled at him and patted the cushion next to her. "Yeah, of course we can, Arnoldo." Helga reached for the remote and went to the recorded shows and clicked on the unfinished episode while Arnold switched off the lights and sat down on the couch. He offered her some blanket and they watched as the surgeons worked on the unidentified man who jumped in front of the bus to save a girl he didn't know.
After twenty minutes Helga's eyes were gently spilling with tears as all of the characters had figured out it was one of their own on the operating-table. Arnold's lip was quivering but his heart was beaming because a blonde headed girl was resting her head on his shoulder underneath the green quilt. Helga sighed, "I can't believe they killed him off." She shook her head and tried to inconspicuously wipe her eyes, but she knew Arnold knew she was crying. Helga smiled because he's nice enough to not publicly notice.
Arnold nodded, "Yeah, he was one of my favorite actors on the show."
Helga turned to face him to look at him incredulously, "What? You have got to be kidding me. Meredith Grey and Derek Sheppard are the best. I mean, she's a complete surgical prodigy because of her mother and Derek is a freaking neurosurgeon! They were practically made for each other." Helga slouched against him, sniffing her nose as the credits came to a close and the recording stopped. "They're my favorite."
Arnold chuckled. "I don't argue with you there, Pinkie." Helga growled softly, he smiled. "It's just that George O'Malley is sort of the underdog. After everything he's been through, after all of the emotions, turmoil and heartbreak, he still strived to do what his calling was. His dad died in the hospital, he failed his intern test, he married Callie on a whim and then divorced, had crying sex with Meredith, found love with Izzie but they couldn't continue that love because there wasn't any physical attraction. He went through all of what life had thrown at him and he had decided to join the army but on the way there he saved a girl from getting killed by being hit by a bus." He looked down into Helga's bright blue eyes that were smiling at him. "George O'Malley is one of the bravest and strongest people the show. It takes true dedication to saving lives and helping people in order to be him. That's why he's my favorite."
She kept looking into his jungle eyes for a long while before she narrowed hers at him.
"Football Head, if you ever, EVER, throw yourself in front of a bus in order to save someone we don't know, I will be so pissed at your helping self because you would be leaving me in this insane world to fend for myself." Her forehead touched his as she continued her joking glare. "You got it, Bucko?"
Laughter escaped him, and a slight blush hidden by the darkness, as he enveloped his best friend into a hug. "Of course, Helga, whatever you say. That would be just too selfish of me."
They stayed in the embrace until Miles sent Arnold a text saying he better get because Stella is starting to get worried. Helga walked him out to his truck and they hugged goodbye, him telling her that he'll be picking her up tomorrow morning.
She waved as he drove off to his house and she walked inside, up the stairs and back to her room to pack for their road trip after school.
The next morning Helga lay in bed and stared at the wall mural which Arnold had painted.
Her thoughts were running with a dream of a night sky filled with stars above a grassy clearing filled with white and blue flowers that matched her eyes. She kept trying to capture the surroundings in her dream but it all evaded her when she opened her eyes. Groaning, she felt her phone vibrating by her feet so she crawled under the covers to look for the cause of vibration. She smiled when she recognized a certain football shaped head and blue hat in the background.
"Hello?" Helga couldn't hold back a yawn as she stretched like a cat against the mattress.
"Hey, just wanted to make sure you're awake and out of bed," Arnold replied. The sound of a blow dryer came from the back ground and she knew he was drying his hat.
She huffed into the phone, "Well, you have your answer don't you?" Helga answered sarcastically.
"No," the blow dryer turned off and the sound footsteps on the stairs replaced the harsh background noise, "not really. I bet you're still in bed just staring at the wall." Arnold laughed and to Helga it sounded like wind chimes with sweet sugar. She realized it's the best she's ever heard and hopes to continue to be able to listen to it.
"Alright, I'm up, I'm up." Helga stayed in bed, underneath the warmth of her blankets.
Arnold wasn't buying it, as he does every weekday morning. "Helga, you know you only have thirty minutes until I get there with Phoebe and Gerald."
She scoffed, "Actually I have twenty three minutes. Remember Gerald and Phoebe are walking to school together?"
"Oh, that's right, isn't it?"
Helga nodded even though he couldn't see her, "Yep. So it's just going to be you and me." They both smiled to the phone.
"I'll get us some maple lattes, which should give you the seven minutes you need as usual."
That had her sit up with excitement, "Thank you! Extra chocolate syrup and whip cream please!"
***Flash Forward***
A guitar was heard through the air, and Arnold looked up to the stage to see Helga smiling widely while strumming, with a distant look off into her eyes. Phoebe knew she was reminiscing, thinking of the memories before everything went wrong.
Helga sang with a faraway look in her eyes, remembering the good days.
I like the way you sound in the morning
We're on the phone and without a warning
I realize your laugh is the best sound
I have ever heard
I like the way I can't keep my focus
I watch you talk, you didn't notice
I hear the words but all I can think is
We should be together
'Cause everytime you smile, I smile
And every time you shine, I'll shine for you
The crowd cheered as they watched a much larger spotlight land on two individuals land on two teenage dancers from the high school Helga, and everyone she knows, attends twirling on the small dance floor reserved for special dance nights at the Triple Door. She knows them from attending a few school plays and noticed they usually stand in the background most times. Their names were Clarice and Christian. She and Phoebe came up to them two weeks before the show, and few other backup-backup dancers, and asked them if they would like to help them on a project that doesn't involve the school in anyway. They all had agreed because the drama teacher only has her eyes set on specific persons for her school plays. The teenage dancers were happy to be involved in a show, and even happier of the praise they were receiving right now from the crowd.
Whoa oh, I'm feelin you baby
Don't be afraid to
Jump then fall
Jump then fall into me
Be there, never gonna leave you
Say that you wanna be with me too
'Cause I'm a stay through it all
So jump then fall
Helga smiled at the praise the two dancers were getting from the choreography they created while listening to Helga's rehearsals for the past two weeks. Everyone who practiced (the band, dancers, back up singers, Phoebe, and Helga) had hardly slept the night before because they knew most of Hillwood will know what went down in the small club by the next morning.
Huh. Well, I like the way your hair falls in your face
You got the keys to me
I love each freckle on your face, oh
I've never been so wrapped up, honey
I like the way you're everything I ever wanted
I had time to think it all over
And all I can say is come closer
Take a deep breath then jump then fall into me
Even though the light was dimmed on Helga, and shined on the dancers, Arnold's attention had remained on Helga. The brick walls were transforming with shades of blue mixed with the sun, flowers, and tall green trees. Arnold had guessed that represented their whole camping trip before sophomore year. He smiled and Helga mirrored it, noticing she was catching his eye.
Whoa oh, I'm feelin you baby
Don't be afraid to
Jump then fall
Jump then fall into me
Be there, never gonna leave you
Say that you wanna be with me too
So I'm a stay through it all
The crowd cheered in excitement and Helga continued to get lost in the past and began to sway to her music being performed live and currently reverberating against the walls.
Whoa oh, I need you baby
Don't be afraid, please
Jump then fall
Jump then fall into me
Helga smiled and starting to dance in place while singing, her gaze wandering off to the amazing dancers gracefully creating a magical moment with their bodies.
Be there, never gonna leave you
Say that you wanna be with me too
So I'm a stay through it all
So jump then fall
Jump then fall, into me
Yeah.
Helga smiled to herself as all of the lights went out except for the boy and girl sitting on stair step to the stage, breathing hard and grinning ear to ear to each other. She wanted them to be recognized for the magic she has been witnessing for the past two weeks and she can't wait for the audience to see the other dancers to finally show their talents as well. Helga clapped for both of them along with the roaring crowd.
