A/N: Here's the update, everyone. A little late, but just a little. Anywho, on with the story. The thrilling continuation. Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom or Young Justice. I just write a weird story about the two. Update was late due to college stuff. Sorry :(
"Oh man isn't this just great?" Alice said to herself as she walked into her room at Mount Justice. She smiled as she examined her room over, it was small, but it will accommodate her. She plopped on her bed and let her hair fall naturally. She took a deep breath in, and then exhaled slowly.
"So much has happened…And now I'm part of a team? Me? Who would have known that I could 'work well with others'?" She laughed softly to herself. "Is this the life you wanted me to have…Mom?" She asked to herself softly as she narrowed her eyes at the ceiling in thought.
"Recognized, Robin, B-01. Kid Flash, B-03", came the robotic voice that echoed around the compound. This made Alice come out of her thoughts, she then sighed.
"Boy Wonder and Kid Mouth are here…" Alice said grimly. She slowly got herself off her bed and was about to exit the room when Miss Martian entered her room nervously.
"Um…Hydrowave? I was just wondering if-
"Miss Martian, we're at the cave…Not to mention I'm in my civilian attire…Just call me Alice", she said as she crossed her arms, but made no movement to stop and chat.
They arrived at the base of the cave, where the main computer monitor for communication was. Miss Martian just looked at Alice, but then nodded.
"Well…Alice…I was wondering if-
Robin and Kid Flash came running into the computer room, where Aqualad and Super Boy were already watching the monitor.
"Did you ask him?" Kid Flash asked excitedly.
"I did", Aqualad replied back, "He is arriving now".
"Then what are we waiting for?!" Kid Flash asked as he punched Robin on the shoulder lightly and then started to run. Robin followed after Kid Flash. Aqualad followed after him.
"Hey Aqualad", Alice called out.
He paused and then turned around, "Yes?"
"I was thinking since we both use water base powers, if you wanted to train together sometime. You know, I could share some techniques with you, and vice versa", Alice said as she walked passed Aqualad, who thought little on the manner as he continued to walk along with her.
"I was thinking the same thing. We could teach and learn a lot from each other".
Super Boy looked at Miss Martian, who smiled friendly back at him, but he made no notion to follow the gesture, so he just followed after the retreating forms in front of him. Miss Martian, having seemed to not mind the hostile attitude, still had a smile on her face as she levitated herself into the air and followed after the team.
As they approached the base of the cave, the 'grass' that was in front of them turned into an incline, allowing access into the cave. The team looked on at the approaching red tornado heading straight towards them.
"Red Tornado!" Kid Flash called out and waved to him.
"Greetings", Red Tornado welcomed. He then looked at each individual, "Is there a reason why you intercepted me outside the cave?"
"We hoped you had a mission for us", Aqualad stated calmly.
"Mission assignments are the Batman's responsibility", Red Tornado replied back, devoid of any emotion.
"But it's been over a week! And nothi-" Robin argued.
"You will be tested soon enough", Red Tornado said, interrupting the young hero. "For the time being, simply enjoy each other's company".
"This team is not a social club", Aqualad said with a hint of annoyance.
"No", Red Tornado agreed. "But I am told that social interaction is an important team building exercise. Pe4rhaps you can keep 'busy' by familiarizing yourself with the cave", he said as he headed towards the opening of the cave.
Kid Flash glared at the retreating form, "Keep busy", he mocked as he punched Robin's shoulder in anger.
"Does he think we're falling for this?" Robin asked incredulously.
"Oh! I'll find out", Miss Martian said excitedly as she turned and narrowed her eyes in concentration. She was trying to read his mind telepathically.
"Recognized, Red Tornado, 1-6", came the computerized voice.
After a few seconds of her staring at the androids retreating form, she gave up with a scoff.
"I-I'm sorry. I forgot he's a machine. Inorganic. I cannot read his mind", she said grimly.
"Nice try though", Kid Flash complimented. "Sooo, you know what I'm thinking right now?" He asked as he got real close to her and stared into her eyes.
Robin scoffed, "Pff, we all know what you're thinking right now", he said as he elbowed his friend in the back.
"Ow", Kid Flash mumbled weakly as he glared at the boy wonder.
"And now we tour the club house", Aqualad deadpanned.
"Club houses can be fun guys." Alice called out to them, she had her arms crossed the entire time. "You're all really killing the atmosphere. And my mood", she said as she glared at the team. There was silence for a second.
"Well, Super Boy, Alice, and I live here. We can play tour guides", Miss Martian offered as she smiled weakly.
The team looked at Super Boy, who looked like he had spaced out the entire time. He caught everyone looking at him, and he glared at them, "Don't look at me", he said as he looked away from the group.
"Well…A private tour sounds a whole lot more fun", he said as he looked at Miss Martian. Alice rolled her eyes before starting to walk back into the cave.
"Tch, she never said private!" Robin said in an outrage.
"Team building. We'll all go", Aqualad ordered. At this, the rest of the team headed back into the cave.
"So, this would be our front door…"
"And this would be the back. The Cave is actually the entire mountain", Miss Martian said, sounding impressed at such a foundation.
"The cave was hallowed out and reinforced by Superman and Green Lantern in the early days of the League", Kid Flash said, shining some insight into the Cave's history.
"Then why abandon it for the hall of justice?" Super Boy asked.
"The Cave's secret location had been…Compromised", Aqualad replied.
"So they traded it in for a tourist trap?" Super Boy asked in disbelief before giving a small laugh, "Yeah…That makes sense".
"If villains know about the cave, we must be on constant alert!" Miss Martian concluded.
"The bad guys know we know they know about the place, so they would never think to look here", he said, grabbing Miss Martian's hand to comfort her.
Kid Flash saw this and grabbed Robin's hand out of Miss Martians, "What he means is…We're hiding in plain sight".
"Ahh", Miss Martian said as she scratched her head in confusion, "That's…Much clearer".
Super Boy sniffed the air suddenly, "I…Smell smoke".
"Ah! My cookies!" Miss Martian yelled suddenly and took off towards the kitchen.
"Cookies? When did she have the time to make those?" Alice asked the others, who only shrugged.
Miss Martian opened the oven door with her powers and revealed burned cookies on a tray.
"What smells like my cooking…?" Danny asked as he walked in and noticed the burned cookies on the tray in front of them. He then looked at the team, who only looked at him. "And by that I meant that it smelled delicious!" He tried to cover up with a sly smile.
"I was trying out Grandma Johns recipe from episode 17 of…Heh, never mind!" She said as she gave a small smile.
"I bet they would have tasted great! He doesn't mind", Robin said as he looked at Kid Flash wolfing down the burnt cookies.
He slowly stopped eating and, talking with his mouthful said, "I have a…Serious metabolism?"
"I'll…Make more?" Miss Martian asked in confusion.
"It was sweet of you to make any", Aqualad complimented.
"Thanks Aqualad", Miss Martian said sheepishly.
"We're off duty, call me Kaldur'ahm", Aqualad said as he placed a hand to his chest. "Actually, my friends call my Kaldur".
"I'm Wally", Kid Flash said as he placed his elbow on the counter top, "See, I already trust you with my secret ID. Unlike Mr. Dark glasses over here. Batman's forbidden boy wonder to tell anyone his real name".
Robin glared at him in response.
"Come on, Wally, it's not his fault. I'm Danny", Danny said as he smiled. Everyone then looked at Alice thinking that she would reveal hers, but she was sitting on the countertop, playing with some conjured up water in her palms.
"Mine's no secret, it's M'gann M'orzz…But you can call me Megan…It's an earth name", Miss Martian said as she smiled. "And I'm on earth now".
Super Boy started to walk out of the room, but Miss Martian felt depressed, so she reached him telepathically. "Don't worry Super Boy, We'll find you an earth name, too", she said, but flinched when Super Boy yelled back at her.
"Get out of my head!" He yelled as he glared at her.
Miss Martian looked confused, "What's wrong? I don't understand, everyone on Mars communicates telepathically", she rang out in everyone's heads. They all gripped their heads at the newly developing headache starting to form, Alice couldn't concentrate and dropped the water she had begun molding onto the floor.
"M'gann, stop", Aqualad ordered. She looked at him, still in confusion, "Things are different here on earth, here, your powers are an extreme invasion of privacy".
"Besides, Cadmus' creepy little psychic genomes, left a bad taste in his brain", Kid Flash said as he pointed over to where Super Boy had exited.
"Oh…I-I didn't mean to-
"Just. Stay. Out!" Super Boy erupted in anger.
"Super Boy!" Danny called out before sighing. "I'm sure he didn't really mean that…"
"Maybe…" Miss Martian looked down in thought before smiling suddenly, "Hello, Megan!" She said as she hit herself on the head with her hand gently. "I know what we can do!" She flew off down the corridor unexpectantly. Robin shrugged, and that gave the others incentive to follow after her.
Super boy was sitting on the couch, looking the other direction from the kitchen. Miss Martian flew back into the room and grabbed the wall.
"Super Boy…Please?" She called out pleadingly.
"Don't talk to me", Super Boy mumbled. After a few seconds though, he had a change of heart and went with Miss Martian, in which she happily smiled.
"It's my Martian bioship!" She said as she walked into the room, the team not far behind her. It was a red sphere in the middle of the room.
"Cute. Not aerodynamic, but cute", he said as he gave her a weak smile.
"It's in rest, silly. I'll wake it", she said as she moved her hand towards the ship. It glowed a bright red for a few spilt seconds before transforming into a functioning red ship. There was a small opening that appeared out of now where. She took a few steps before looking back at her team mates. "Well, are you coming?"
Each of them looked at each other before deciding to head into the mysterious bioship. As chairs formed out of the ground, Robin and Kid Flash smiled at each other before heading over to them.
"Strap in for launch", Miss Martian said weakly.
As soon as Robin had sat down, straps formed over his chair and on top of him.
"Cool", Kid Flash called out as straps formed over him.
"Red Tornado, please open the gates", Miss Martian said as she gripped two orbs in front of her. The gates were soon open, and the bioship was soaring through the sky.
"Incredible!" Robin said as he looked at the scenery below him.
"I take it you don't get to fly that much?" Danny said with a playful smirk on his face. Robin glared at him in response.
"She sure is…" Kid Flash said looking at Miss Martian, who noticed and looked at him in confusion. "The ship I mean! The ship! Which, like all ships is a she", he mumbled as he crossed his arms at his failed attempt to 'flirt'.
"Fast with his feet, not so much with his mouth", Robin said with a smile on his face to Miss Martian.
Kid Flash just looked at him in disbelief, "Dude!"
"I may not have psychic powers, but I can guess what you're thinking", Aqualad mumbled to Super Boy at the front. "You overreacted and you don't know how to apologize…Just say, 'sorry'".
"Alice aren't you enjoying the sights?" Danny asked as he looked over to his partner.
"You know I'm scared of heights, Danny." Alice mumbled as she tried to play with some water, but she couldn't form it because she was so nervous.
"Are you serious? I really didn't know", he said as he blinked at her.
"You're being a big loser right now, Danny. A real big loser…" She said as she lost control of her tiny amount of water and it went into Danny's face.
He stared at her for a couple of seconds before going intangible to get the left over water off, "Okay…I deserved that".
"He'll come around", Robin whispered to Miss Martian.
"He doesn't seem to like me much…" She said as she looked down at the ground.
"You guys seem to forget that he has super hearing, right?" Kid Flash reminded them.
"Hey, how about showing us a little bit of Martian shape shifting?" Robin suggested.
Miss Martain got up and shifted herself into a female Robin, and then posed when she shape shifted into a female Kid Flash.
"Impressive", Robin said as he clapped, "But you know you're not going to fool anyone with those?"
"I know, shifting boys is a lot harder", she said shyly.
"And…your clothes?" Aqualad asked.
"They're organic! Like the ship", Miss Martian said as she pulled on her clothes to prove her point. "They respond to my mental commands".
"As long as they're the only ones", Super Boy said grimly.
Miss Martian looked down in thought again.
"Hey can you do the ghost through walls thing that Manhunter does?" Kid Flash said, trying to lift the mood.
"Density shifting?" She gave it a thought, "N-No, it's a very advanced technique".
"Flash can vibrate his molecules right through a wall…" Robin laughs at the memory, "When he tries it", he points at Kid Flash, "Bloody nose!"
"Dude!" Kid Flash yelled in outrage.
"Red Tornado to Miss Martian, an emergency alert has been triggered at the Happy Harbor power plant. I suggest you investigate. Covertly. I'm sending coordinates".
"Received, adjusting course", Miss Martian said.
"Red Tornado's keeping us busy again", Robin said with a sigh.
"Well, a simple fire led you to Super Boy…We should find out what caused the alert", Miss Martian reasoned.
She landed the ship right next to the power plant.
"I think I know the cause", Super Boy said as he looked out the window and saw a tornado approaching them. The tornado didn't stop as it continued to suck them into its wind cyclone. Miss Martian got control of the ship back quickly as she landed the ship back near the power plant.
The Team dropped down from the bioship and landed on the ground.
"Not really the time to say this but…Land!" Alice yelled as she raised her fist into the air.
"Robin? Are tornado's common in New England?" Aqualad asked, expecting an answer from the boy, but when he didn't receive one he looked behind him. "Robin?"
An ominous laughter echoed around the area. Miss Martian looked around in confusion, "But he was just here!"
"He does that…A lot", Danny said as he transformed into Phantom in a bright flash of light. The windows of the building started to shatter, signaling the Team that a battle was taking place inside. As Alice was running, she turned herself into Hydrowave. Her citizen clothes dropped like water off her body and was replaced by a new layer of clothing.
"Is that organic? Like my clothes?" Miss Martian asked.
"Uh, sure. Let's go with that", Alice said as she shrugged. As they entered the building they found Robin on the floor. Super Boy lunged and kneeled down by Robin.
"And that's what he gets for charging in like an idiot", Alice said to herself.
"Who's your new friend?" Super Boy asked glaring angrily at the red android in front of them.
"Didn't catch his name, but he plays kind of rough!" Robin yelled in anger.
"My apologies. You may address me as Mister Twister", he said as he looked at each of them, expecting some kind of challenge. After a few seconds he raised his arms and unleashed a set of twisters at Super Boy, who was charging at him with great speed. Super Boy was overcome by the wind and was blown into a wall behind him.
Robin slowly stood up, probably injuring himself in the process and held his side. Kid Flash got out some red goggles and placed them on his face, ready to battle. Alice summoned a ball of water in her hand and squeezed it, letting it form into a water scythe. Danny charged up some ecto-blasts in his hands and slowly took flight into the air. Aqualad looked at Miss Martian who nodded. They suddenly all charged at him at once.
Kid Flash charged right towards the unknown enemy and didn't expect to be basted by a twister at such short range, as a result he was thrown outside and rolled a few times from the force before finally hitting the ground.
Danny shot his ecto-blasts, but they were soon absorbed by the wind itself, "Whoa, that wasn't supposed to happen. Okay…New tactic…"
He didn't get a chance to act because Alice started to charge at him, scythe ready. She swung down at him, causing him to get injured by the rapid water, but the she was pushed outside by Twister's next attack. She landed right next to Kid Flash, and had the wind knocked out of her.
Miss Martian and Aqualad were up next, along with Danny who decided to physically start beating the enemy, but they didn't get very far, before they too, like Super Boy, were blasted into the wall behind them.
Robin looked on at the enemy, all the while having a hand behind his back sneakily pulling out a weapon from his civilian clothes.
"I was prepared to be challenged by a superhero, I was not, however, expecting children", Twister said as he looked at his lone challenger before him.
Robin gritted his teeth as a response, he then threw his weapons at the enemy, "We're not children!" They had turned out to be bombs as he threw two of them. One hit the winds and made them die down, while the other landed on Mister Twister, which he just flicked off with his finger, making it explode somewhere else.
"Objectively you are…Have you no adult supervision? I find your presence here quite disturbing…" Mister Twister rambled on.
"Well! We hate to see you disturbed! Let's see if you're more turbed once we kick your can!" Robin called out, alerting the villain to the now reawakened team.
Miss Martian made the steam holder above the villain erupt, causing a smoke screen to fill the area. Taking this chance, Super Boy lunged in the air and prepared to punch Twister, but he blew Super Boy away with his strong winds. Not seeing that Super Boy was blown back, Miss Martian also took this opportunity to try and get a hit in, only to be blown back by Super Boy's form falling on top of her.
Aqualad and Robin charged at the villain together, only for Twister to summon miniature tornados at them, each one sucking them in until they collided with each other and fell to the floor in pain. Twister was about to walk away, but paused when he heard a strong voice.
"Hold it big guy, you still have me to deal with", Danny said as he levitated himself into the air. He held out his palms and they slowly started to fill with raw ectoplasm. By doing this, Danny's eyes were slowly turning a bright green. "Prepared to get blown away", he said as he inhaled a deep breath, preparing to unleash his ghostly wail, but a chill got caught in his throat, making him cough. It was a slight cough at first, but then it progressed into a coughing fit, he then started to shake from a sudden coldness, losing his concentration.
Twister took this opportunity to knock the 'confident' young boy out. He unleashed some wind, and blew Danny back into the wall, doing so until the boy could no longer hold his transformation, and was reverted back into Danny Fenton as he fell to the ground, unconscious.
"Your friend was right, that was quite turbing", he said as he smirked before flying himself up into the sky using his twisters. "Thank you", he said as he left the heroes.
Kid Flash was finally waking up after being knocked out for so long. He saw the enemy start to approach him, but he also saw a knocked out Alice beside him. She had a long cut along the side of her leg, and it was bleeding out pretty badly.
"Alice…Alice!" He called to her, but she was still unconscious. He took an extra black shirt from his jacket and tied it around the bleeding leg, quickly. He gritted his teeth in anger before running, full speed at the enemy. He dodge rolled a few times, hoping to catch the enemy's attention. "What have you done to my team?" He asked in rage.
"Embarrassed them, largely." He said as he raised his arms and summoned more tornados at the teen. Kid Flash saw it coming and tried to run away, but couldn't run fast enough, as he was slowly being sucked into the funnel. Kid Flash was bracing his head in case he crashed, but he didn't. He looked around and saw that he was being levitated.
"I got you, Wally", Miss Martian said as she slowly started to set him on the ground.
"Wow, thanks", Kid Flash said as he smiled.
"I would have thought that you all would have learned your limitations by now", Mister Twister said in a displeased tone.
"What do you want!?" Aqualad asked, finally losing his temper at the villain.
"Isn't it obvious?!" Mister Twister yelled as he used his twisters to propel himself into the air. "I'm waiting for a real hero".
"Read his mind. Find a weakness", Aqualad ordered Miss Martian.
Miss Martian fumbled to form words, "uh-whu-I thought I wasn't supposed to do that!"
"It's okay with the bad guys!" Robin yelled, throwing his hands up in the air in frustration.
Miss Martian complied and stuck two fingers to her head, "Nothing…I'm getting nothing! Wait…Hello, Megan! Mister Twister is Red Tornado is disguise! He's inorganic, an android, and how many androids do you know that can generate tornados?"
"Red Tornado sent us here", Aqualad added to Miss Martian's hypothesis.
"After saying we would be tested 'soon enough?'" Robin supported.
"Uh, guys, you shouldn't just make assumptions. How do we really know that he's Red Tornado?" Danny asked, still in doubt.
"This is his test, Danny! Something to keep us busy!" Robin defended.
"Speedy called it, we're a joke", Kid Flash said as he looked down at the ground.
Aqualad slammed his fist in his palm in anger, before looking up at Mister Twister.
"This game…? So over", Kid Flash said as he started walking closer to Mister Twister.
"We know who you are, and what you want!" Robin yelled and pointed an accusatory finger at the villain.
"So let's end this!" Aqualad said as he glared.
"Then consider it ended", Mister Twister said as he glared down at the 'heroes' before him. He raised his arms to the guy and made the area have extreme winds. The sky started to change into an ominous dark purple.
"An impressive show, but we will not indulge you! We will not engage!" Aqualad replied as he did not move from his spot. Lightning struck down at the land, threatening those to stay away.
"Uh…Can Red Tornado…Do that?" Kid Flash said wearily.
"You think I'm Tornado? Ironic", Twister said as he started to laugh at such an assumption.
Alice started to stir in the midst of the battle. She noticed that the scene changed tremendously since the last time she had been awake. 'Great, what did those idiots do now?' She thought as she slowly sat up. She noticed she was bleeding, but she also noticed that someone had tried to bandage it up with a black shirt. She didn't pay much attention to this as she began to teleport herself to the others across the field.
Lightning fired down, blasting the unknowing heroes to the ground, Danny, who was already weak passed out immediately, having no way to protect his friends. Super Boy was the only one left standing and lunged to attack Twister, but lightning struck him in his chest, and he fell to the ground, hard, and slid several feet past his teammates.
Twister started to fly down to them, threateningly, having charges of lightning bolts in his hands and wanting to get rid of them. Miss Martian started to awaken, and noticed the threat looming over them. She gasped and tried to get to action, but she didn't have enough energy.
Just as he unleashed a thousand volts upon the group, Alice emerged out of thin air and summoned a strong water wall. "You are not going to do that, Twister!"
"Your powers are nothing compared to mine, child!" Twister said as he started to put more power into his attack.
"You'd think so, wouldn't you? Think again, these powers aren't my own…." Alice said as her eyes started to glow a darker amber color. Her water wall became more powerful by the second, and ultimately, it overpowered the lightning, leaving just the water wall standing.
"Fine. I'll admit you children have power. Defeating you isn't my objective…But if you confront me again, I will show no mercy!" Twister yelled as he flew off over the mountains and towards the ocean.
Alice slowly stopped putting energy into the water wall, and in a few seconds, in turned into a small puddle at her feet. She collapsed on her knees from using so much of her power. She panted for a while trying to get her bearings.
"Everyone…Okay?" She asked as she turned her head a little behind her.
"What happened…?" Kid Flash asked as he looked from Alice to Miss Martian.
"Alice used her water powers to put up a wal-
Miss Martian was interrupted by Super Boy slamming the ground with his fist. The Martian flinched in response.
"And that's supposed to make up for everything?" He said as he stood up and walked over to Miss Martian, who looked a little startled at his sudden rage. "You tricked us into thinking that Twister was Red Tornado".
The other team members stood in front of Super Boy to not let him do something he might regret later.
"She didn't do it on purpose", Aqualad said as he sighed.
"It was a rookie mistake", Robin said as he looked at Super Boy. "We shouldn't have listened".
"You are pretty inexperienced", Kid Flash agreed. "Hit the showers, we'll take it from here".
"Stay out of our way", Super Boy glared as he walked by Miss Martian.
"They're just as much as fault." Danny said as he glared at the retreating forms of Robin, Kid Flash, and Super Boy. "Don't let it get to you, okay, M'gann?" he let out a small smile before flying off at his top speed to catch up to his teammates…Despite the slight chill that was slowly starting to overcome him as soon as he took off.
"I just…wanted to be part of the team", Miss Martian said as she looked down.
"To be honest…I'm not sure we even have a team", Aqualad said as he walked off.
Alice watched as Aqualad walked off. She then sighed as she landed on her back. She tilted her head back a little and noticed the depressed form of Miss Martian.
"Hey…" Alice said trying to get her attention. "Hey!" She said a little louder. Miss Martian looked up at her, she had a tear stained face. "Are you ready to beat the living crap out of that guy?"
"I don't think I should…I let everyone down."
"You didn't let me down. No one got hurt…Er, no one got hurt bad. Boys will be boys, huh?" Alice said as she smiled gently at the girl.
"This…Is the first time we've talked, isn't it?" She said as she smiled, already cheering up.
"Huh…I guess so. Well, we should go now", Alice said as she slowly stood up. "What were you going to ask me this morning?"
"What?" Miss Martian asked as she suddenly looked up.
"It was a pretty chaotic morning, so you didn't get to tell me", Alice said as she extended her hand to help her friend up.
"It's silly, but…I wanted to ask if you wanted to go…Shopping?" She asked as she took the hand.
"Sure…Not sure how much fun I'll be though." Alice said as she smiled. M'gann pulled herself to her feet using the support of her friend, she smiled as well.
"It'll be quicker if we use the bioship!" Miss Martian said, back to her old self again.
"The team really needs your help!" Miss Martian said as she was talking to Red Tornado.
"If I intervened, it would not be to 'help'. Still, it is an odd coincidence that this Twister shares my elemental abilities. And, my immunity to telepathy."
"Hello, Megan!" Miss Martian said as she smiled.
"Good, you have a plan. Because I really don't think I'll be that much help", came an exhausted Alice who was laying exhausted in the seat next to her.
Aqualad skillfully dodged a tornado that was thrown at him, and was prepared to hit Twister when he got knocked back by wind and into the house behind him. Danny glared at the villain before unleashing a barrage of ectoblasts at the inorganic machine. They were all deflected away from him with his wind.
Robin and Kid Flash were hiding behind an uprooted part of road. Robin began to take his utility belt out of his jacket and swung it over his shoulder.
"You brought your utility belt?" Kid Flash asked in surprise.
"Never leave home without it, first thing Batman taught me!" Robin said as he smiled.
Kid Flash rolled his eyes under his goggles, "Yeah, right after never going to the bathroom without it", he mumbled under his breath as he smiled at his own joke.
"Listen to me!" Miss Martian said telepathically in everyone's heads. "All of you".
"What did we tell you?" Super Boy said in rage after just being blasted into a house behind him by Twister's winds.
"I know! And I know I messed up! But now I'm very clear on what we need to do", she said, "Please, trust me".
The townspeople were running away from the twisters that were accumulating in the area and wrecking everyone's homes.
"Get back! This way!" A local police officer said as he yelled at the citizens. One of the people that were running looked up at the sky and saw the red bioship, and no words had to be said at his relief, he smiled instead. The bioship landed on the ground, out of harm's way.
Twister looked up at the sky at an incoming object, "Hit the showers, boys", came the familiar voice of Red Tornado.
He stood in front of the gathered team, protectively, "I was hoping you could handle this. Clearly, you cannot".
"But we've got a plan now!" Robin argued.
"The subject is not up for debate!" Red Tornado said. The rest of the team looked crestfallen.
"I was beginning to believe that you'd never show up." Twister said as he took a step forward.
"I'm here, now", Tornado said as he brought his arm behind him and conjured up a single tornado. It went straight to Twister, and he dodged out of the way and summoned his own tornado to cancel it out. Seeing this, Tornado brought it back to him and dismissed the storm of wind.
"We're evenly matched Twister", he said as he brought both arms behind him again to summon another tornado.
"No Tornado, we are not", Twister said as he shot lightning through the tornado being formed and then at the hero, who had to dodge it to avoid being hit. It collided with a shipwrecked boat on the ground and exploded on impact. Such an explosion caused Tornado to be blown back, lightning paralyzing him as he laid on the ground. Twister started to approach him.
"Remain still, android." He said as wires came out of his hands and launched themselves onto Tornado's head. "The reprogramming won't take long".
All of a sudden, Tornado's head turned around and morphed around to Miss Martian's as she suddenly grabbed the wires. "Longer that you might think", she said in mock-innocence.
Twister became alarmed at this and took a step back, right into a tornado that had been brought up by Kid Flash repeatedly running around in a circle. Kid Flash quickly stepped out of the winds, which had launched Twister right into the hands of Super Boy. The boy punched a hole into the androids chest so that his body was circuiting out. He then punched him into the nearby water, where Aqualad was waiting for him. He struck Twister with a hammer, and then sent lightning shocks throughout the androids body, landing him back on shore.
Miss Martian levitated him up into the air and tore off his robotic limbs, while Robin sent two bombs up at him, which exploded, and brought him back down to land. The team gathered round as the robot sat up, and the middle compartment opened, sending hundreds of needle like materials out of its chest, and towards the team. Danny summoned an ecto-shield, and the green glowing shield deflected the dangerous weapons to the ground. As the shield went down, a man was revealed to have been operating 'Twister' and fell onto the ground.
"Foul" The man said as he looked up at the heroes. "I-I call foul".
The team looked at the man, and Miss Martian levitated a nearby boulder and raised it above the man.
"M'gann, no!" Aqualad called out as she smashed the boulder against the man.
"Don't know how things are done on Mars, but on earth, we don't execute out captives!" Robin yelled out in furry.
"You said you trust me", Miss Martian said with a smile as she levitate the boulder off the man. It was revealed to be a robot in human disguise.
"Well that's weird, a robot operating a robot within a robot…Robot-ception, right?" Alice said as she suddenly appeared out of thin air.
"And that's why I couldn't read his mind", Miss Martian pointed out as she smiled.
Kid Flash walked over to a robotic eyeball and picked it up, "Cool, souvenir!"
"We should have had more faith in you", Aqualad said as he put a comforting hand on Miss Martian's shoulder.
"Yeah, you 'rocked' this mission! Get it, rocked? Heh, heh", Kid Flash said as he laughed at his own joke.
"Lame", Alice said as she crossed her arms.
"That was pretty lame", Danny deadpanned with a straight face.
"Ignore him, we're all just turbed to be on the team", Robin said.
"Thanks. Me too", Miss Martian said.
"It was clearly created to sabotage and destroy you", Aqualad said as the broken robot was placed on a table back in the Cave.
"Indeed", Tornado said conclusively.
"Is that why you wouldn't help us?" Miss Martian asked.
"No. This was your battle. I do not believe that it is my problem to solve yours for you. Nor should you solve mine for me", Tornado said. At this, Robin looked up from the computer that was examining the broken robot.
"But if you're in danger…" Miss Martian trailed on.
"Consider this matter, closed", Tornado said as he turned his back on the group and started to walk away.
"Yeesh, what's up his?" Alice asked as she hand her arms crossed in the back of her head. In reply, Danny elbowed her in the side, she glared at him.
"Batman, Aquaman, and Flash, they would've jumped right in to fix things", Kid Flash said as he glared after Tornado.
"If we're going to have a babysitter, a heartless machine is exactly what we need", Robin scoffed in reply.
"Dude! Shh!" Kid Flash mumbled to his friend.
"Completely inaccurate, I have a heart. Carbon based alloy. I also have excellent hearing", he said to the team as he turned around.
Kid Flash squinted his eyes in embarrassment.
"Right…Sorry, I'll try to be more accurate." Robin said as he scratched the back of his head.
"And more respectful", Aqualad said as he came over to Robin.
"Speedy was so wrong", Kid Flash said.
"This team thing?" Robin asked.
"Just might work out", Aqualad said.
Super Boy and Miss Martian stared at each other before Super Boy softened his facial expression.
"Sorry", he said as he smiled gently, as he walked off after the trio that had left before.
Suddenly, Danny's phone started to ring. Alice looked at her partner in confusion, "Is it Jazz?"
Danny looked at the ID number and his heart sunk, "No, it's not…"
"What's the matter?" Miss Martian asked as she walked over to them.
He answered the phone, "Sam?"
"Danny, there's been a problem…Amity Park is under attack…"
