A/N: So, long time no see, huh? Sorry it took so long, but mid-terms were happening. I couldn't stop them. Anyways, in this chapter we encounter Kent Nelson and his mysterious tower of magic. Alice is going to appear less and less since she has that curse mark on her that makes her not become herself. I don't know if most of you like her, but if you don't, then this is where you will express your sigh of relief. As I have stated before, Sam makes an entrance.

"I had a feeling that you would teleport here," came Sin's voice as Alice suddenly turned around from the rooftop she was standing on. She noticed the half demon sitting down with his familiar beside him, slowly striking it.

Alice narrowed her eyes as they turned a red color as she approached him. She roughly grabbed him by the color as he was dangled in the air. He smirked at the treatment, his pure black eyes gazed into her red menacing ones. "Get rid of it," she ordered in a dark and commanding voice.

Sin clicked his tongue, making Alice's short temper go off. "I said-

"I heard what you said, sweetheart. I cannot simply get rid of my curse marks," he stated with a shrug, though his cocky grin had never left his face. "The anger will consume you, you will destroy your treasured teammates, and it will be by your hands."

Alice threw him on the ground roughly, in which he broke into a hysterical laughter, "You're bluffing," she stated in a monotone.

"For your sake, darling, I wish I was," he said as he snapped his fingers together, and a Chaos portal opened beside him, its eerie red glow illuminating the dark night. "Have fun tearing your teammates apart," he added as he stepped through. As soon as he did, the portal disappeared.

Alice dropped to her knees and placed her hands against the rooftop. "You might think you have me cornered, but you don't. I…" She trailed on as her phone vibrated in her pocket. She took it out and noticed that she had missed calls from everyone on the Team. She shook her head, her hand shaking in pent up anger as she threw it against the pavement. "I don't need anyone."

Danny sighed as he placed his phone back in his pocket. "That's the third time I called her…" He trailed on as he entered the school building, Wally by his side, who was eating an apple happily. He quickly finished it, eating at a non-human speed before stretching.

"Maybe she just doesn't want to be disturbed. Girl's need their space," he stated with a shrug as he crossed his arms.

"I don't know, this isn't her…I'm going to go look for her," he said as he turned intangible, only to be pulled out of it by Wally suddenly grabbing his arm backwards. "Hey!" He yelled in frustration as he narrowed his eyes at his friend.

"Look, Danny. I know you're worried, but what would Bruce think? Suddenly skipping a day?" Wally asked rhetorically, knowing that he was right for once.

Danny shook his head, "But-!"

The bell rang, ending the argument, and Danny let out a huff. He pulled his arm out of Wally's grip as he stormed off into class. He opened the door and saw that his favorite teacher wasn't there yet. "If I leave now, I think I can-"

"No, Danny," Wally said with a sigh.

"What if she's hurt? We're just sitting here doing nothing!" He yelled in frustration as he crossed his arms. He angrily sat down as he plopped himself in the desk. "You're a monster."

"The monster that's saving you a world of hurt," Wally said as he sat down in his desk beside Danny. "Besides, if I have to stay here, so do you," he mumbled as he leaned forward on his desk, resting his head on his hand in a bored fashion.

Danny's phone buzzed and he took it out without looking at it, "Alice?" He asked in a hushed voice.

"Huh? No, it's Dani…Who's Alice?" She asked in confusion.

"Oh…It's no one…Wait, why are you calling me? I'm at school!" Danny yelled in a hushed voice as he hastily looked at the clock. "And who let you get a phone?" Dani was silent for a few seconds, alarming Danny. "Dani? Are you still there?"

"Oh…Yeah, the phone just fell through my hand. Danny I'm bored, Alfred is boring, and Jazz left for work ten minutes ago…" Dani's voice trailed as she let out a long and exasperated sigh.

Danny snorted at her impatience, "You poor thing…" He drawled on, though he had a smirk on his face.

"This is serious! I already found the Bat Cave and raided the kitchen…" She trailed on with another sigh.

"Tell you what, we can do something fun when I get out of school," Danny suggested to appease the bored girl.

Dani's voice lit up, "Really?"

Danny felt his phone being taken out of his hand, and he looked up with wide eyes. Vlad had finally chosen to walk in and make trouble for him. 'Crap!' He thought as he rubbed the back of his head nervously.

"I don't know what this fun entails after school, Daniel, but you will not be going. You have detention for having your phone out while school is in session," Vlad said as he pocketed his phone and walked to the front of the classroom.

"What?! But class hasn't even started yet!" Danny argued, but then was interrupted by another bell, which Vlad raised his eyebrows in triumph at.

"Ah, but now it has. Everyone take their seats. Pop Quiz," he stated as he sat down at the mahogany desk at the front of the classroom. Danny let out a sigh, 'Great, another detention. Smooth move, Fenton,' he thought as he rolled his eyes, taking out his materials for the class from his backpack.

Wally glanced over at Danny with a worried look, "Dude!" He whispered, and Danny rose an eyebrow and looked over at his friend.

"What?" He replied in a hush voice.

"We have to go to the Cave right after school today, remember?" He asked with wide eyes. "Batman is going to kill you!" He whispered as he started to chuckle.

Danny glared at him, "That would have been nice to know beforehand!"

"Daniel, are you talking while getting ready for a quiz?" Vlad asked rhetorically as he had a smirk on his face. Danny faced Vlad and noticed the look on his face. He sighed mentally, this is going to be a long day. "That earns you a double detention!" He replied in a bitter sweet tone.

'You Bastar-

Danny thought but was interrupted when a shock was sent into his seat. He looked up at Vlad in confusion and was met with Vlad moving his pointer finger back and forth in a lecturing manner. "Remember, no notes. This is a quiz to show how much you know and what we need to work on."

"Kill me now," Danny mumbled as he leaned back in his desk.

Danny was looking at the clock, watching it tick by as he leaned in his desk in a tired manner. "You mind telling me, Plasmius, why I'm the only one in detention?" He asked as he glared at Vlad, who was reading something on his computer.

Vlad glanced up at the boy, who had a frown on his face, and grinned, "You aren't supposed to talk in detention, but since we're practically family, I suppose I'll allow it," he said as his grin turned into a smirk.

Danny growled as his neon green eyes came to the surface. He shook it away with a deep breath so he could relax himself. "Speaking of my family…" Danny trailed on, crossing his arms while giving Vlad a stern look.

"This isn't therapy," Vlad mused, "But I'm honored that you're opening up to me. It's what some would call father/son bonding," he stated as he smirked again.

"Danielle," Danny stated, and Vlad's smirk easily went away at the mention of her name. "Why did you treat her the way you did?"

Vlad stood up suddenly, making Danny tense as he saw up straighter, waiting for an attack. The man was like a loose cannon, and he didn't want to chance anything with him. "She was a failed experiment…A mistake, if you will," Vlad said as he placed his hands behind his back. Danny raised an eyebrow at his actions.

"But she's not. She's a halfa, just like us. A human," Danny continued, making Vlad narrow his eyes at him.

"You're treading on thin ice, boy," Vlad said in a dark and cold tone.

Danny couldn't help but feel a chill go down his spine at the tone that Vlad had used. Still, he refused to stand down about his younger sister. "You were trying to clone me. To make me suffer even more, weren't you?" He asked as he noticed Vlad walking closer to him. Danny let out a confident chuckle, "If you failed anywhere, it was in that department, frootloop. I just gained an extra family member, and I have to say, I have never been happier."

Vlad slammed his hands down on the desk, making Danny jump as he suddenly looked into Vlad's eyes, though he tried to not look as terrified as he felt. "Happier, even though your parents are deceased?" He asked the young boy.

Danny looked startled at the question, "N-No…Of course if my parents were still…That's not the point!" He yelled as he looked away from Vlad, unable to look into the cold eyes of Vlad.

"Do you think that Bruce and Richard can fill the void of what you've lost? Or that little mistake can even be remotely similar to what we are?" Vlad asked again, making Danny feel nauseous. It had been close to a half a year since the accident, and he still wasn't over it. "Your bumbling oaf of a father is dead, and so is Maddie. Can you even fathom what the outcome would be for you if Jasmine was caught in that explosion?"

"Stop," Danny said as he looked at the desk.

Vlad didn't listen to his small request, "Or rather, Samantha or Tucker was caught in that explosion as well? How would the future have worked out if you were truly alone?"

Danny closed his eyes and clutched his ears, "Stop it!" He yelled as he saw images of Dan and the alternate future. "Please…Stop it."

Vlad smirked, satisfied with the mental attack that he had just unleashed. "Fine, Daniel. I suppose that's enough punishment for your disobedience today," he said as he placed the boy's confiscated phone back on his desk and in his possession. "I'll be looking forward to our session tomorrow…Son."

Danny was shaking with a mixture of emotions as he stood up and grabbed his phone. He didn't say a word to Vlad, but his heart was pounding in his chest. Dani ran through the door with a big grin on her face. "Danny! Bruce said that you had-

She stopped mid-sentence when she saw Vlad standing there. He narrowed his eyes once he saw her, but didn't say anything as he went back to his desk. "Dani, what are you doing here?" Danny asked in a strained voice. He was about to have an emotional breakdown thanks to that pleasant conversation with Vlad.

"You said that we were going to do something fun!" Dani yelled in excitement as she hovered in the air. Danny's eyes grew wider and he rushed over to her and pushed her back to the ground.

"Um…Don't do that here. Come on, let's go home," he said as he started to head out the door, only for Dani to grab the back of his shirt. He looked back with a confused expression.

"Hold my hand?" She asked as she smiled innocently. As they were heading out, Dani sent a hateful glare at Vlad and stuck her tongue out. Vlad responded with sending a small harmless pink ecto blast at her, which narrowly missed her.

Mount Justice – 7:00 pm.

As the two of the reached the Cave, there was a brawl happening. Dani blinked in confusion at watching Aqualad and Super Boy 'going at it' at the brawling area. "This isn't what you mean by fun…Right?" She asked as she looked up at her older brother.

"I hope not…" Danny tailed on as he looked over at Wally. "By the way, thanks for leaving me in detention, buddy," Danny said to his friend sarcastically.

"Did you want me to get detention too?" Wally asked with a scoff.

Danny looked at him with a smirk, "Tomorrow you will," he stated as he crossed his arms.

Artemis and Miss Martian were talking amongst themselves at the two boy's builds. Dani wandered over there and made a disgusting voice at what they were saying. "Um…Should you two by saying that about them?" She asked, and they both paused what they were saying and looked at the young girl who looked identical to Danny in front of them.

"And who are you?" Miss Martian asked in a sweet voice as she bent down to get a closer look at the young girl.

"Dani," she stated, and received confused expressions. "With an 'I'," she said proudly as she crossed her arms.

Artemis let out a scoff, "Like that's original," she drawled out as she smirked.

"That sounds too similar to Danny's name. What about Ellie. That's short for Danielle…Or so I heard from Hello Me – Ah, never mind," she fumbled nervously as he face started to grow red.

"Ellie?" Dani asked with raised eyebrows.

Danny walked over to the girls and smiled. "It fits you, don't you think, Danielle?"

Dani scrunched her eyebrows, "I don't know. I'm still thinking about it."

"Is this your sister or something?" Artemis asked as she rose an eyebrow. "Didn't know you had one."

"You didn't ask," Danny cryptically said with a shrug, giving Artemis the impression that he was done talking on the matter.

Wally came rushing forward, over hearing their conversation, "Did someone say sister?"

Dani ran behind Danny, "Who is that?"

"That's just Baywatch. Ignore him, it's what I do," Artemis said with a smirk. Wally narrowed his eyes at the girl and just crossed his arms in frustration.

"That was rude and hurt me deeply," he said with a frown as he eyed the girl behind Danny. The boy moved so that he was covering his sister, and Wally sighed. "Where's Robin? It's not like him to not show up."

Danny smirked, "I got a text from him on the way here. He got detention because he tried to get out of cooking class. Get this, he put in toxic material into his soup and tried to get himself the throw up!" Danny explained before he broke out into a chuckle. Wally did the same and the Artemis and Miss Martian rolled their eyes.

"Men, right Ellie?" Miss Martian asked as she looked down at the girl, who giggled and had a smile on her face, confusing the Martian and the archer. "Speaking of Men…" She said to Artemis who glanced in the girl's direction. "You know who would make a great couple? You and Wally!"

Artemis scoffed as she tried to not roll her eyes, "Please, he's so full of…Everything," she said as she started to chuckle, making the Martian do so as well.

Suddenly, Aqualad was flipped over and Super Boy stood proudly in front of him, his bare chest showed signs of sweating as she smiled. "Black Canary showed me that one."

A red tornado fell from the sky and landed on the ground, making Dani jump at the sudden materialization of the man. "Who's that?" She asked Danny in a whisper, making him chuckle.

"That's Red Tornado, he's basically the house hen of the Cave," he said as he noticed Wally and Aqualad approach the robot.

"Do you have a mission for us?" Wally asked impatiently with a persuasive grin on his face.

"Mission assignments are the Batman's job," Red Tornado stated with no emotion as he started to walk away.

"Yeah, but the Batman is with the Robin doing the dynamic duo thing. I mean, you're going somewhere, right?" Kid Flash stated, trying to get something to do.

Aqualad sighed and the rudeness that his teammate was showing, "If you would allow us to do so," he saved with a small smile.

Red Tornado stared at the Team and brought up the holographic monitor, "This man is known as Kent Nelson…"

Danny turned to Dani during the debriefing, "After the mission details, I'm taking you to Wayne manor," he stated as he crossed his arms.

Dani let out a groan, "Why can't I stay and help?" She asked with a pout starting to form on her face. Danny knew that pout, which was the same trick in the book that he had pulled when nothing had went his way.

"I just don't want you to get hurt is all," Danny replied as he rubbed the back of his head. 'My old tricks must have really worked…Wonder why it doesn't work on Jazz?' Danny thought as he avoided looking his little sister in the face.

"I can fight just fine! And I can handle myself!" Dani argued as she took a step forward. "I'm staying!"

"No, you're not. Go home, Dani," he stated in an overprotective manner, which peeved off Danielle even more.

She let out a 'pfft' noise as she crossed her arms with attitude, "I don't have to listen to you," she said in defiance as she stuck out her tongue. "I'm going!"

"No you're not!" Danny yelled, drawing attention to themselves and taking it away from the debriefing.

"Yes, I am!"

"No!"

"You can't stop me!"

"I could short out your powers, then I could stop you!"

"You wouldn't!"

"I just might," Danny trailed off and she made a frown in response.

Wally, noticing the sibling dispute walked over to Danny and slung his arm over his shoulders, "Why won't you let your little sis come? Sounds like she really wants to go!"

"She's twelve, Wally," Danny said dryly as he rolled his eyes.

"Rob's thirteen. Your point is…?" Wally drawled out as he made a hand motion.

Artemis scoffed, "We're a person short with Alice gone anyways," she stated as she shrugged.

Miss Martian bent down to Dani's level with a friendly smile on her face, "Do you want to come with us, Ellie?"

"Yeah!" Dani yelled as white rings appeared at her waist and traveled upwards, similar to Danny's transformation. She lifted a fist in the air as she hovered slightly off the ground, "Let's kick some butt!"

Danny sighed, "Fine. But you have to listen to the entire Team, alright?"

"It's such a deal!" She yelled in excitement as a childish grin appeared on her face. "This will be so much fun!"

"Fun?" Wally scoffed, "Magic doesn't even exist," he stated as he crossed his arms in indifference.

Miss Martian cocked her head, "What did you say, Wally? I'm a huge fan of the magic arts. Did you say that you enjoy them as well?"

"You darn diddly bet I did! Magic? Love it!" Wally played off with a cheeky grin.

"What a faker…" Artemis mumbled as she rolled her eyes.

"Let us get started with the mission. I do not wish to waste any more time," Aqualad stated as he started to walk out.

Dani cocked her head to the side, "Who was that?"

"Aqualad. He's from Atlantis," Danny responded as he followed after the Team, who all followed Aqualad's lead.

"Like the little mermaid? Aqualad is a mermaid?" Dani asked with a wide grin. "That's so cool!"

Danny face palmed, "Aqualad isn't a mermaid…"

"Isn't there supposed to be something here?" Dani asked as she hovered in the air, examining the ground.

"Wally, go take a sweep of the perimeter," Aqualad ordered, and Wally responded with a nod as he took off at the speed of lightning.

Dani blinked her eyes in surprise, "That's really fast," she stated as she looked at her brother who nodded at her statement. "So he can just run super-fast? That's kind of lame," she mumbled.

"It is not!" Wally yelled as he reappeared after a few seconds, "For the record, I can density shift through walls!" He argued as he crossed his arms.

Artemis cracked out a grin on her face, "Really? Last I heard, that gives you a bloody nose…" She trailed on as she glanced at the ground.

"Who did-? Robin…" He said as he narrowed his eyes.

"Did you find anything?" Super Boy asked as he took a few steps forward.

Wally shook his head, "Nadda. Nothing. Zip."

"Hmm, and do you think it's a cloaking device that's covering the establishment?" Artemis edged on, waiting to show everyone what he really thought on magic.

"Absolutely," he stated in a confident voice. Miss Martian walked over to him with a smile on her face, "Absolutely not. It's magic all the way! Only magic can do this!"

Aqualad sighed as he pulled out the key that Red Tornado had entrusted to him, "A test of faith…" He mused to himself as he advanced towards the wide open space, careful as to not bump into any of his teammates. He put it into the air, and everyone heard a clicking noise. Wally's mouth opened in disbelief as Aqualad turned the key. A tower materialized out of nowhere as it stood proudly several stories up. The Team all went in without speaking, too memorized to even make a thought. As they all entered a large open room, the door behind them closed and vanished.

"Uh…Where'd the door go?" Super Boy asked in caution as he examined the area. Seconds after saying that, a hologram of Kent Nelson appeared before him. He stood, holding his staff to the side of him.

"You have used the key, but the tower does not recognize you. Please state you intent and purpose," it stated before them.

Dani took a step forward, about to announce why they were there, but Danny pulled her back by the arm. She narrowed her eyes at him before scowling and returning to where she had been. Wally glanced back at Miss Martian, and took this chance to BS his way to earning her favor. He took a step forward the hologram with a grin on his face, "We are true believers, here to find Dr. Fate," he stated in a whimsical manner.

Danny face palmed, "What is he-?"

The ground beneath them started to crack, and the tiles shattered, propelling them into a lava pool that was at the bottom of a long crevice. Danny's eyes went wide as he turned into Phantom, Dani did the same as she turned into her alternate ghost half. Miss Martian grabbed a hold of Wally, while Artemis shot out a grappling hook onto one of the cave walls, she swung and caught Aqualad in her arms. Super Boy clawed at the wall as he was decelerating. However, it wasn't fast enough, as his feet touched into the lava, burning him. He let out a scream as he narrowed his eyes at the fire pit.

"Those…Were my favorite boots," he mumbled in anger. "This Nelson guy had better be worth it."

"You can get another pair!" Dani cheered sympathetically as she flew down to the bottom of the cave and lifted him up by the shoulders. "Hold on!" She yelled as she lifted him up slowly, due to his super strength, it added a few more pounds.

"My boots are gone…They were my only pair of boots," Super Boy stated as he sighed.

Danny narrowed his eyes as he hovered to Wally's level, "Maybe we could just make some more boots for Super Boy using magic!" He yelled in sarcasm as he had to refrain from narrowing his eyes.

"You can't use magic to-!" He yelled but then looked at Miss Martian and grinned, "You can't use magic selfishly like that!"

"I'm having…Trouble maintaining altitude…Hot," she stated as they began to hover lower. She wiped away at the sweat forming at her face, and Wally looked at her dreamily.

"You certainly are," he said as he grinned.

The two had passed Artemis and Aqualad, "Wally!" Artemis yelled out in a scowl.

"Hey, I'm in the middle of life and death, I can say what's on my mind!" He justified as he looked back at her.

"My physiology and M'Gann's were not made for hot temperatures," Aqualad stated as he looked paler by the second. Artemis nodded as she started to climb up with Aqualad helping support his own weight. He grabbed onto the wall and tried to pull himself up, only to fail and slip, falling deeper into the cave. Dani and Super Boy had just passed M'Gann and Wally.

Danny flew down to where M'Gann and Wally were and put himself underneath them, "Don't worry, I got you," he stated calmly as they slowly started to make their way up.

"Hello, Megan! We never actually answered the question!" She mused as she bopped herself on the head with her hand. "Red Tornado sent us…To make sure the Dr. Fate and the helmet were safe!"

As soon as she spoke those words, the lava pool had a steel coating over it so that it wouldn't cause instant death if you were to fall in. "Also, Super Boy want you to spit out his boots!" Dani yelled, hoping to see some boots being spit out somewhere, but was a little disappointed when it didn't happen.

"Danielle!" Danny scolded. "We don't tell magic towers to spit out boots!"

They had all landed on the steel coating, as the area where they had fallen from had vanished. "This floor…It should be hot, but it is cool to the touch…" Aqualad mused as he stuck a webbed hand down to examine it.

"Don't worry Megalicious, I got you," Wally said smoothly, which made Artemis and Danny pounce on his with anger.

"Enough! Your little impress Megan at all costs game nearly got us all barbequed!" Artemis yelled as she got into Wally's face.

"When did this-?" Wally started but didn't get to finish because that was when Danny had chosen to send his argument out.

"She's right! You were selfish and put us all at risk! We all could have died in there, all so what? You could impress a girl?" Danny yelled out. The rest of the Team looked at him with surprise, never on their previous missions had they seen Danny get so upset. "Do you ever think about what the future would be if one of us were to die? Do you?"

Dani put a hand on his shoulder, "Danny, please stop. You're scaring me," she said with wide eyes. He opened his mouth to continue to argue when he shut it when he saw the look on her face. He looked around and noticed the shock on everyone's faces. He nodded as he rubbed a hand through his sweaty hair.

"Look, I know it might be my fault," Wally said, as this earned him a scoff from Artemis, "But magic is a real load! Today it's just a bunch of tricks so people can earn money! Even in primitive times, fire was considered magic."

"You don't believe in magic…You travel at light speeds, genius!"

Wally took a step towards the archer, "That's different! That's science! I replicated Barry's experiment and happened to gain his powers. That's all you need this world is science."

"Close minded weirdo," Dani mumbled which earned her a scowl from Danny. Artemis gave her a grin and agreed with her.

"Ellie is right. You really are a close minded weirdo," Artemis trailed on as she rolled her eyes.

"Regardless, we need to keep moving," Aqualad stated as he found a hatch on the ground and pulled on it.

Wally's eyes grew wide in fear, "Don't! If you do that, the backlash from the lava will-

Despite what everyone had originally though, the lava had disappeared and in its place was a frozen wasteland, which seemed to go on forever. Miss Martian caught a piece of projectile snow in her hand, "It's cold!" She yelled with a grin on her face.

Artemis turned to look at Wally with a triumphant smile, "Do you ever get tired of being wrong?"

One after the other they all jumped through the hatch and appeared on the other side, where ice and snow awaited them. After they had all appeared on the other side, the portal vanished.

Artemis turned to look at Wally's reaction to this realm, "Well?" She asked impatiently.

"Ever hear of string theory? We're in a pocket dimension," he justified as Artemis let out a huff in frustration.

Dani let out a giggle as she scooped up a pile of snow in her hands. She formed it into a ball and through it at Wally, who was the unsuspecting victim. "Shun the non-believer!" She yelled as she was about to scoop another ball of snow, but Danny grabbed her arm as the Team started to move.

"Where did that come from?" Danny asked as he rose an eyebrow at his little sister.

"Oh, it's a web series that-

"Bruce let you on the internet," Danny stated dryly.

Dani smiled deviously, "You could say that…"

"Dani, you can't just sneak into Bruce's room and go on his computer," Danny scolded as he shook his head.

"Dick said I could as long as I don't get caught," she rebuttled as she stuck out her tongue.

"What's that?" Miss Martian asked as she pointed to the cane that hovering in the air.

Wally rolled his eyes, "Maybe it's Nelson's magic wand," he said with exaggeration. He and Artemis walked over to where the can was hovering, and they both grabbed onto it at the same time.

"I got it," they both said, each pulling in their direction. At that moment the can started to glow a yellow color. "I can't let go!" They both yelled again as they were being lifted into the sky and disappearing into a yellow portal.

After a few seconds the remaining Team looked at each other in silence. Dani looked at Danny in confusion, "Does that happen often?"

"I don't understand Wally. It's like he refuses to believe that the impossible can't happen," Megan mused as she sighed. The Team was walking through the winter wasteland, trying to find a way to where the Artemis and Wally and disappeared to.

"Perhaps that is a defense mechanism. To help him understand things that he cannot comprehend…"

Dani looked at Danny with a smirk on her face. Danny was feeling more nervous around his little sister by the second. He then noticed that she was holding something behind her back. "Why do you have your hands behind your back?" He asked with a small smile. His smile faded, however, when he noticed that it was four snowballs. His eyes grew wide as he ducked for cover.

"Snowball fight!" She yelled as she tossed them, to which Danny put up an ecto shield to block them.

He smirked as his fists illuminated blue and he released a barrage of snow, much to Dani's surprise. "You picked the wrong element!" She tried to make a small ecto shield, but the snow overpowered her, and she was buried under the snow. Danny broke out into a fit of laughter as he was hunched over. He looked up to notice the rest of the Team looking at him in amusement. "Uh…She started it," he pointed over to the heap of snow.

"Danny! You overdid it!" Miss Martian yelled out as she lifted the snow with her mind and saw the defeated Danielle underneath.

"Not fair…I don't have those powers yet…" She whined as she stood up, disoriented.

A door clicked opened and the Team all looked ahead and noticed a newly formed door in the snowy mountain a few feet away.

Super Boy landed on the ground, as did Aqualad beside him. Miss Martian, Danny, and Dani all floated through the door. "I would have said look before you leap, but…" Danny trailed, earning him a glare from Super Boy and Aqualad.

"Friends of yours?" Kent Nelson asked before a fight started to begin.

Wally dodged a lightning bolt from Abra Kadabra as he covered Kent Nelson, so that he wouldn't get hit by it. "Friends of yours?" Wally asked in a hurried rush. Nelson made no move to answer the young speedster, he did, however, hit the large bell in the middle of the room with his cane. It illuminated yellow before engulfing Nelson and Wally, plus Klarion, who dashed into the bell at the last second.

"I'm starting to think he does do that a lot…" Dani mused with a smirk.

She was too deep in thought that she hadn't noticed Abra's lightning bolt heading towards her. Danny appeared in front of her at the last second with an ecto shield. "Are you okay?" He asked in a hurried rush.

"I would have been fine even if it were to hit me…What's the deal with you today?" Dani asked as she rolled her eyes. She took to the air and flew straight towards Abra. She raised a fist full of ecto plasm and shot it straight into the man.

He phased in and out of the physical plane so that the blast went harmlessly through him. Dani blinked in surprise, "How did-?"

"Ah, a ghost powered human…Interesting," Abra mused as he shot a bolt at her, though it entrapped her in a miniature cage of lightning. She fell to the ground with a groan as she was trapped and unable to attack him.

Abra was so focused on his miniature victory that he failed to notice the enraged older brother coming towards him with two fists filled of ecto plasm. It hit him square in the chest as he stumbled backwards. Abra's eyes narrowed as he took in the sight of the boy in front of him. "You pack a punch, boy," he stated as he smirked. He flicked him back with his small wand, sending him flying across the tower.

Miss Martian was trying to bend the electricity that was trapping Dani with her mind, but it wouldn't obey her. "Hold on Ellie!"

"Miss Martian, contact Wally, we need Dr. Fate in here now," Aqualad ordered before he was taken from behind while he was busy giving out orders. He too, much like Dani, was now in an electric cage on the ground. Miss Martian closed her eyes and concentrated on reaching out to Wally. However, as soon as she had done so, she had also gotten captured into one of the electric cages.

"You're making me mad," Super Boy said as he raised his fist as he ran up to the magician. However, as soon as he was about to hit the man, he had unleashed a blue lightning beam at the boy, causing him to get flown back from the attack, and ensnared him into a lightning cage.

Danny groaned as he came to from across the tower. He narrowed his eyes as he saw that each of his teammates had fallen to this magician. "Wally faced this guy before…Too bad he had to run off into the night with Dr. Fate…" He trailed as he spotted Artemis taking shelter behind a winding staircase. She had her miniature crossbow poised for an attack. She spotted Danny and did a nod. She then made a hand gesture to ambush the man. He nodded in understanding as he turned intangible, hoping to gain a field advantage of some sort.

"Eat arrow!" Artemis yelled from behind the staircase. Abra was so focused on the young archer that he hadn't seen the now visible Danny sneaking an attack from behind. He fired a barrage of ecto blasts at the man, each one making him lunge forward from the attack power. A smoke screen covered the area, and Danny landed on the ground.

"Is it over?" He asked, mostly to himself. He took another step before a blue lightning bolt erupted from the cloud of smoke. He tumbled backwards and was, like most of his teammates, captured by the magic. "Guess it wasn't…" He trailed as he groaned. He rubbed his head and tried to fire an ecto blast at the makeshift cage, but it had no effect as it collided against the wall before it vanished out of existence.

Artemis also groaned as she rolled onto her side. She looked up and noticed Abra standing in front of her with his wand raised. He had a sinister smirk on his face as he looked at the girl before him. She gasped as she lifted an arm over her head and prepared for the attack that she expected to come…And was surprised when it didn't happen. She slowly lowered her arm and noticed that the man, who stood menacingly in front of her, was now stripped down to his boxers with the Dr. Fate symbol in the background. He was then knocked into unconsciousness by a bright yellow light. As soon as the man had hit the floor, the cages had all disappeared.

"Is seems as though Fate were on our side," Aqualad mused as he stood up. The rest of the Team followed his lead.

Dani rolled her eyes, "And I thought Danny was bad at puns…" She trailed as she started to walk down a downward staircase.

Danny blinked in confusion before placing a smirk on his face as he followed her, "I make great puns!"

"As if! 'Chill out,' or, 'Hot on your feet?' Let's not forget 'Ice to meet you!'" Dani retorted.

The Team looked at Danny and had to avoid a chuckle that threatened to escape their lips. Danny's face became flustered, "The only one with ice powers on the Team. I can get a little punny," Danny reasoned with a shrug.

"I really don't want to wear this," Dani stated as she tugged on her dress, making it stretch slightly.

Jazz giggled as she swatted Dani's arms away as she readjusted the dress into place. "Relax. Bruce is having a benefit dinner. It's a one-time thing," she reasoned as she pulled her hands away, satisfied with the way it looked.

Danny came down the stairs and tugged at the collar of his fancy dress shirt, "I really don't want to wear this…" He trailed as he kept pulling at the collar, making his tie loose.

Jazz sighed as she shook her head, though she held a small smile on her face, "What am I going to do with the two of you?" She asked rhetorically as she headed over to where Danny was and fixed his collar for him. "Why is your hair slicked back?" She asked as she saw Danny's usually spiked hair groomed into place at the top of his head.

"Dick's idea. Said it would be more 'fancy,'" Danny said with a sigh as he tried to pop it back into place, only for it to fall back down. "I'm going to kill him…" Danny stated as his eyes changed to green quickly before reverting to their normal blue hue.

"If you can catch me first!" Dick called from the top of the staircase. He slid down the hand rail before reaching the bottom, where he did a backflip and landed promptly on his feet. He gave Danny a smirk as he patted the top of his head. "We look like we can be twins!" He yelled with a sneer.

Danny went to elbow Dick in the side, but Dick side stepped to the right, making the young halfa miss and swat at the air instead. "How's your stomach? Sill throwing up?"

"Stew will never taste the same again," Dick said in a defeated voice as he shook his head slightly.

"You shouldn't have done something so rash, Dick," Bruce said as he walked into the entry way. He was wearing a tuxedo as well and had his black hair combed into place. "Your food poisoning really slowed us down out there. Penguin would have been able to take you down in no time flat," he said in a harsh voice as he shook his head in disapproval.

Dick shrugged, "I would have been able to use my special move. Ralphing over his body," he stated as Bruce let out a smile. He chuckled as he ruffled his son's hair before moving to the door. He fixed his suit before looking at his children.

"You all know the drill, right?" Bruce asked as he looked at them all intensely.

"Be polite," Dani said in a monotone voice. She refrained from rolling her eyes as she glanced down at the ground. Last time they had held these events, she had caused an uproar among the guests from her less than pleasant tact.

"Don't ask them too many personal questions. Even though you're really just trying to help them get through their childhood traumas…" Jazz trailed as she crossed her arms.

"Pretend to be interested in what they're saying," Danny trailed on, as if it were a scene being rehearsed.

"Don't eat all the food," Robin stated with a smirk on his face.

Bruce nodded, "Now make sure to do it right this time. I don't need my guests running away…Again…Dani I'm looking at you," he said as he looked at the young girl. She smiled sheepishly as she stuck her arms behind her back in an innocent manner. He smiled at his children before nodding at the door. "Here we go."

LINE BREAK

Guests were pouring in as they were all dressed in a very fancy manner. Dani noticed a woman that had a fake fox over her shoulders and stifled a laugh as she walked by. "Danny, did you see that fox? Wonder if she ran it over before she got here."

"Dani, don't be silly, she's rich. She probably paid someone to run it over for her," he said with a grin.

"Oh my gosh…Danny?" Came a girl's voice. Danny looked up with wide eyes as he saw a beautiful girl with black hair curled to her shoulders. She was wearing a black and purple sparkled dress.

"Sam?" He asked in equal surprise. "I haven't – What are you doing here?" He asked in a stuttered rush. Dani looked at the two interacting and a frown came over her features. Danny was supposed to pay attention to her…

Sam shook her head in surprise, "I came because my family has been wanting to do a business proposal with the Wayne company for years…I didn't know this was where you were staying…" She said with wide eyes as she hugged her best friend, slightly pushing Dani out of the way.

She glared at the girl before rolling her eyes. "Guess I'll go by Jazz…" She trailed off as she took a step in her older sister's direction, expecting to get a response from Danny. She didn't however, and this angered the girl. She let out a huff before stomping away. "Who does that girl think she is? Hugging Danny like that!" She yelled to herself as she approached Jazz, who was striking up too much of a conversation with a guest, who was starting to back away in fear of the psychologist.

"You need to believe that things will get better! Open up to yourself!" Jazz yelled as she took a step forward the retreating guest.

"I only asked where the bathroom was…" He trailed as he started to run into the crown of people, disappearing into the party.

Dick sighed as he eyed the refreshment table. It was littered with delicious food which made his mouth water, but his stomach protest in a feisty rebellion. "Just one…Sandwich…Is all I'm asking…" He mumbled as he moved closer to the table, keeping an eye on where Bruce was standing. His back was turned, making it the perfect opportunity to steal from the table. Just as he took a sandwich, a voice called out to him.

"Excuse me," came a smooth voice.

Dick immediately dropped the sandwich and turned with frightened eyes at the voice who was addressing him. He thought it might have been Bruce disguising his voice, but to this surprise it wasn't. A man with white hair in a fancy tuxedo stood before him. He had an eye patch over his eye and had a stone cold expression on his face. "Uh…How may I help you?" He asked nervously as if he was just a kid stealing a cookie from the cookie jar.

"My name is Slade Wilson, I'm new to the area and was hoping if you could tell me about this benefit dinner?" He asked as he smiled softly at the boy, who rose an eyebrow.

"It's a benefit for the Gotham art museum…" He trailed as he examined Slade's build and voice. He was positive that he had met this man somewhere before, he just couldn't place his finger on it. "Are you sure that I haven't…Met you somewhere?" Dick asked as he cocked his head.

Slade grinned, "Perhaps we might have crossed paths on a street," he stated as he shrugged. "Thank you for the information, Richard Grayson."

Dick nodded at the statement until he heard his name being said. He turned to looked at the man, but found that he vanished. "What a creep," he stated as he felt a shiver run down his spine.

Danny was catching up with Sam when she pulled him away from the party and out onto the balcony. "I have something to show you, Danny…"

"It isn't something bad, is it?" He asked with a grin on his face.

She shook her head slowly, "Remember the Undergrowth incident?"

Danny nodded his head, "Yeah?" He drawled out, not understanding where this conversation was heading.

"Well…When I got turned into the 'queen' something never went away," she stated as she held her hand out. A vine started to materialize on it and started to sprout upwards. "I've managed to control it…But what should I do with it?"

Danny blinked his eyes in amazement, "What do you mean?" He asked in a high pitched voice. "This is great, you can do things with your new powers!"

"Become a super hero? Like you?" She asked as she grinned sheepishly. "I don't know, Danny. I'm not a very 'super' person…" She trailed off as she looked at the ground.

Danny put a finger to her chin and lifted it up slowly, "You're super to me, Sam. You always have been," he said with a soft smile.

She smiled back at him, her face turning red. He looked into her eyes and was slowly advancing his face towards hers. Closer and closer…

Dani saw it all, and she would not stand for it. She narrowed her eyes at the woman who was trying to take her brother away from her. She turned intangible and headed straight in between the couple. She then turned visible, making them both be pulled away from each other. "Hello!" Dani yelled out to the couple.

"Dani!" Danny yelled as his face was a deep shade of red. Sam's was as well as she was still in shock of what she was about to do.

"I was getting bored, so I came to see you!" Dani yelled with a grin on her face.

Sam put her arms across her chest as she slightly narrowed her eyes, "Who's this?"

"I'm his sister," Dani said with narrowed eyes as well.

Danny, who saw where this was headed, decided to step in, "So, uh, Sam, how long are you staying in town?"

"A few weeks…That won't be a problem…Will it?" She asked as she never drifted her gaze away from the young girl who was the very protective younger sister.

"I wouldn't see a problem as long as you stay away from my brother," she rudely propositioned as she placed her hands on her hips.

"Your brother? He's my best friend!" Sam reasoned with equal rudeness.

Danny sighed, "Two girls fighting over me…This isn't exactly what I pictured…" He stated as he tried to not face palm.

Bruce sighed as he closed the door of the mansion. The party had been a success…Except for a few mishaps that happened throughout the night. "Mind telling me what happened?"

Dani and Danny shifted uncomfortably as they both glanced at the ground. Neither deciding to say a word. "Now?" Bruce ordered in his Batman tone.

"That girl started it!" Dani yelled, quick to place blame. Bruce sighed as he tried to not look at the broken artifacts that were around his ballroom from the brawl that had broken out.

"You are a hero, Danielle. You do not start fights with citizens," he stated as he shook his head. He spotted Jazz and Dick trying to sneak away from the interrogation. "And you two…Jazz, you managed to make seven guests uncomfortable with your constant psychoanalyzing…Dick, don't think I didn't see you eat five sandwiches..." He trailed as he shook his head again. "Other than that, great job. Hope you all look forward to the next benefit in two weeks," he said with a smirk as he walked away.

The children sighed as they tried to not think about how exciting the next party will be.

jim89: Your reviews have literally made my day. Alice is very judgmental, but she's not entirely herself anymore. But you know what they say, sometimes your greatest enemy can be your greatest friend. Harley feels connected to Jazz because of their similar backgrounds. I think she just wants Jazz to be more like her, and see what she sees in a way.

Breyannia: He's my favorite villain too! I think Danny will just want to try and deal things will Vlad, but eventually it might get to the point where he is going to tell Bruce. Holy cow, you just guessed what this chapter was about with the detention thing. This was already planned out and when I read your review I almost had a heart attack. KodiakWolfe13: I feel like there needs to be more Dani/Danny moments in this story. Or in the episodes in general. Mental abuse is like…A common theme in this story. It's kind of depressing, but that's how the super hero universe is. Rebel Night sounds amazing, yo. Wish I had that kind of thing, though the pot pies sound amazing. Are they homemade or store bought?

Nico: After reading your review, I re-read my chapter. She did scream a lot, but I think it was just because she was excited from seeing Danny, and thinking things could change. Since she was just born and not living with Vlad very long, she had a small amount of hope left. But I don't know. And thanks! I didn't want them to seem too non-existent in the episodes, so I really have to work them in.

Jebest4781: It will be very hectic at school for Danny, considering that Vlad is the teacher…Of math. Which will really put a lot of pressure on Danny. I had actually thought that this episode was Downtime and not Denial…So Jazz will come in next episode. Sorry about the broken promise, but I couldn't make her fit in this one.

A/N: In case that last part got confusing, Dani and Sam broke out into a fight that basically scared everyone away. Dani is becoming the jealous little sister. I'm the youngest of my family, I have been in her shoes when I was her age and my sister was hanging out with her boyfriend. I kind of did the same thing, well, minus the fight and fancy party, but you get the idea. Next chapter should be next month! Hope you all have a great day!
