Chapter 6
The slight, cool breeze of the night whistled along the streets as
Mario walked through Mushroom City kicking
a few pebbles along the way as they skipped
across the street a few feet ahead of him.
"What should I do now" Mario thought questioning himself.
"Pauline suddenly feels affectionate towards me and Rosalina isn't like her
usual self. It's like she's trying to drag Peach away from me..."
Mario examined the small bite mark Pauline had left on
his neck and shuddered.
"Excuse me sir!" a male voice called out. Mario looked up from his position.
"Would I interest you in some exclusively rare items?" the man asked charmingly.
Mario looked at each of the items with suspicion.
One item was a Golden Mushroom, but with a missing crown.
Another item was a Fire Flower, but with a missing stem.
The last item wasn't even an item at all, it was a dumb keychain.
"What am I supposed to do with these?" Mario asked.
"Well... Uh... they're make good souvenirs?" the Toad said with anxiety.
"No thanks, not worth my time" Mario declined.
"Oh, please sir!" the Toad begged.
"I just need a little money to feed my helpless family!"
"Oh please! Please!"
Mario rolled his eyes with annoyance and dropped 20 coins
in the helpless toad's hands.
"Oh, thank you sir, you kindness is much obliged." the Toad thanked.
Mario shrugged and walked off down the street.
Once Mario was out of sight, the Toad smiled evilly as he bounced
around the street happily celebrating.
"Stupid fool!" the Toad cackled.
"Using stupid junk and such kind words, forced 20 coins
out of that sucker!"
But the Toad didn't notice someone peering down at him from on top of a building
smiling at him with merciless eyes.
"Ready for the attack boys?" one voice whispered.
"Ready" other voices called out.
Meanwhile, the Toad was still celebrating with his coins, when...
A great barrage of red striped toads landed on him, taking every last
one of the coins and scurrying away, stripping gravel away from the street.
"MY COINS" the Toad yelled.
Then a black figure landed in front of him startling him.
"Tsk, tsk. Y'know it's really stupid to steal." the figure smirked
while wagging his/her index finger in the Toad's face. "Besides,
you've got a lot of money on your hands already."
"I'd usually let people off with a warning, buuuuut..." she said
her eyes rolling slowly
"You stole from Super Mario, and for me, that's unacceptable" she said
with a little smile while brushing some hair aside.
"Please, he's just a dumb, idioti-" the Toad started, but then
got kicked square in the face by her sharp boot, knocking him out.
The Toad's face had a small gash from the impact, as the figure receded
backwards.
"Pitiful, little brat" she snorted while kicking him towards an alley.
"Well, I haven't got much to do around here anymore" she shrugged.
She then checked her nails, looked around for awhile, then darted off.
I've made these chapter extremely short, but it's better than nothing.
