Chapter 7: Love Takes A Turn
A slight breeze blew through Rosalina's hair as she
was walking home from a recent shopping trip with Peach.
It was a peaceful night full of crickets and croaking frogs near the ponds.
The occasional sound of a buzzing mosquito, and tiny moths circling a
street lamp.
Nearby Toads greeted her while walking towards the lively Toad Town,
and little Toads were giggling with glee as they waved holding flashlights.
"Such sweet little things" Rosalina smiled as she walked in
the opposite direction.
"There she is!" a voice whispered in a nearby bush.
"Ready?"
Rosalina then stopped and stared at the lone bush
in confusion. "I-I-Is someone there?" she cautiously asked.
No answer.
Rosalina then started to pick up her pace in a little run
as she quietly tried to leave the area.
Then two figures lept out of the bush and tackled her.
"Got Ya!" Wario said in triumph as he pinned her down.
"Let me go!" Rosalina squirmed as she tried to break free.
"What should we do now?" Waluigi asked tying Rosalina's hands and legs
with rope.
"You idiot! We're supposed to take her to Bowser!" Wario said
annoyed.
Rosalina's eyes slightly widened as she panicked. "Bowser?!"
Meanwhile...
Luigi was walking down the same path Rosalina was taking, in hope
that he would have a chance to talk to her.
Faint voices were heard in distance, echoing towards him.
"Help! Help! Help me!"
"Shut up Twerp!"
"Yeah, keep the noise down will ya!"
Luigi then ran towards the voice as fast as he could, the
wind rushing past him picking up speed.
"That sounds like Rosalina!"
Sure enough, he saw Rosalina helplessly trying to
escape Wario and Waluigi's grip.
"HEY!" Luigi yelled.
Wario and Waluigi turned to him with ugly smiles.
"Hey look! It's Green Stache!" Wario laughed.
"Yeah, where's your brother to protect ya?" Waluigi laughed as well.
Luigi stepped closer with a serious face.
"Looks like someone's picking a fight with the Wario Bros." Wario said
picking his nose.
"Yeah, and this must be his girlfriend" Waluigi turned to Rosalina.
"You guys aren't as tough as you look" Luigi smirked.
"Oh yeah?" Wario said getting on his bike.
"Oh sure, Wario Pig and Walu-stick man don't seem as
much as a threat" Luigi taunted.
"You've got another thing coming!" Wario said
driving towards Luigi.
"RUN HIM OVER!" Waluigi yelled.
"NO!" Rosalina yelped.
Luigi then did a super-jump in the air, and landed on the back
of Wario's bike.
"WAAAH?" Wario said confusingly.
"YOU'VE GOT SOMETHING COMING!" Luigi roared.
Then Luigi shot two green fireballs at Wario's tires, as they burst into flames.
Sparks flew as Luigi jumped of the bike watching it explode.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Wario yelled as he flew into the distance.
A smoke trail was left, as Wario was only a dot in the sky.
Luigi then turned and glared at Waluigi.
"Want some?" he asked as he readied a fireball.
"Heh heh, no thanks." Waluigi backed off nervously then ran.
Luigi ran up to Rosalina, as she was untangling herself.
"That was awesome!" Rosalina praised.
"I didn't know you could do that!"
Luigi blushed and smiled from the compliment.
"It's nothing, just a few jumps and the flick of the wrist"
Rosalina smiled "Thank you so much"
Awkward silence as they both looked into each others eyes.
A small breeze blew between them, as they heard Toad Town residents in
the distance.
"Umm well, I have to be going" Rosalina said as she turned to pick up
her scattered bags quickly.
"Yeah... me too" Luigi turned in the other direction.
As Luigi turned to walk off, Rosalina quickly stopped him.
"Wait!"
Luigi turned to her with confusion.
"Umm, well" Rosalina shyly said.
She then locked lips with Luigi and shared
a sweet kiss with him.
Luigi was at first surprised from the sudden move,
but then closed his eyes as he felt her lips against his.
A sweet moment of bliss...
A great way to end the chapter.
