Chapter 9
Mario and Luigi were sitting in class waiting for another
boring English session with Mr. Toadshrum.
"So you actually asked out Rosalina instead
of Daisy?" Mario asked confused.
"I already told you, YES!" Luigi said throwing his hands
in the air. "But... Why?" Mario questioned.
"I just feel like Daisy may not be the person who
I like anymore." Luigi simply replied.
"Well...I...Uh think that it was a REALLY bad
choice." Mario started. "I never said you had to like it." Luigi said.
"But...What if Rosalina is worse?" Mario said. "What if this whole
relationship is just a mistake?" "Bro, I highly doubt Rosalina would
do anything to hurt me." Luigi said while folding his arms.
"But-" Mario was interrupted by their boring teacher.
"Alright class, settle down." Toadshrum began, but the students kept talking.
He cleared his throat "SETTLE DOWN!" He yelled with great force.
In just an instant the class fell silent.
"First I'd like to introduce a new student that will be joining
us for the remainder of the year." he began.
He beckoned toward a door where a Female Toad walked in.
She wore a pink jeans jacket, with a white blouse, and black shorts
that matched with her outfit. She had pink, luscious hair, a cute smile,
and sparkling eyes.
"Please, introduce yourself" Toadshrum said to the girl.
"My name is Toadette, I moved here from Shroomville and
it's nice to meet you all." she said sweetly.
"You may have a seat now. Pick anyone you like, as long
as it's empty." Toadshrum said.
Toadette's eyes scanned the room, some students were pointing
to empty seats around them reluctantly, others didn't really care where
she sat.
"Please don't sit by me, Please!" Mario silently pleaded.
She searched until she locked eyes with Mario. She smiled at him
with her eyes twinkling as she started walking over to the seat beside him.
"Oh no, please no." Mario thought worriedly as she sat down.
"Hi" she greeted while still smiling.
"Uh..Hi" Mario said while looking away.
"You're Mario, right?" she questioned.
"Y-Yes... But how did you know?" Mario stammered.
"You've saved the kingdom plenty of times, so everyone must know about you." Toadette said while giggling.
"Oh Yeah... Right" Mario said while blushing from embarrassment.
"So that's your brother Luigi?" she asked while pointing behind Mario.
"Yep, that's him." Mario said.
Students then began crowding around her in hope to know more about her.
"What's your favorite color?"
"I like what you did with your hair!"
"Do your eyes always sparkle like that?"
"Your smile is beautiful!"
"I can show you around, if you want."
"Let me carry your books!"
"I asked her first!"
"It's fine, really!" Toadette reassured.
Then the bell rang for intermission between classes.
"Since we used up all of our time with the new student, your homework is
to answer ALL of the questions on Pages 28 and 30 for tomorrow.
The entire class groaned with annoyance.
"Since you are new Toadette, you don't need to do the assignment" Mr. Toadshrum declared.
"But teacher, I insist that I do the assignment as well." Toadette said.
"How modest of you! If you think it will enhance your nature of learning,
than be my guest" Mr. Toadshrum said happily.
"Class Dismissed!"
Mario was at his locker getting his math book for his Geometry class.
As he was about to close it, he saw Toadette approaching from the corner of his eye.
"Hello!" she greeted as she walked up to him.
"Hi" Mario greeted back.
Mario noticed a bit of uneasiness in her tone of voice as she greeted him.
"I know we just met and-" Toadette started while slightly blushing.
Mario's eyes widened slightly "Is she going to ask me to the dance?" he thought.
"I was wondering if maybe you could show me around the school, so I
can be more familiar with it." she asked politely.
"Actually..I...Well" Mario was stunned by how beautiful she looked, that he kept
stammering in between words. The way she tossed her hair, her smile, and her sweet voice...
"Of course I will." Mario finally answered with a tiny smile.
"Great!" Toadette said reluctantly.
Then they stared at each other for a moment.
"She's so beautiful..." Mario thought.
"He's so cute..." Toadette thought dreamily.
"Hey Mario." a voice behind him cooed as she wrapped her hands around him breaking the silence.
"Hey Peach" Mario smiled.
"Who is that?" Peach asked pointing to Toadette.
"Oh...Toadette this is Peach, my close friend." Mario told her.
Peach waved slightly while examining her cautiously.
"She does look very pretty..." Peach admitted. "But obviously not as pretty as me!" she thought while smiling.
"Princess Peach, close friend?" Toadette swallowed hard slightly.
"Yeah, we're almost making it official that we are boyfriend/girlfriend" Peach explained gleefully.
"Anyway, I just came to check on you to say that class is dismissed for the rest
of the day!" Peach said happily.
"Wouldn't they just say that on the intercom?" Mario asked.
"That's the problem, its being repaired" Peach explained.
"So, they are bring nice about it and letting everyone out for the day."
"I was hoping that maybe we could go see a movie or just hang out together." she said to Mario.
"Just the two of us..." she whispered in his ear.
"That would be great!" Mario said enthusiastically.
"I'll see you later, bye Toadette!" Mario waved.
"Bye!" Toadette said while blushing madly as she watched him leave.
"FYI, Mario loves me, and ONLY me so if you're trying some weird strategy
to win his heart, you're going through me first!" Peach snapped at Toadette.
"Got it?"
"I don't need to listen to you." Toadette said while folding her arms.
"How sweet of you to resist!" Peach said teasingly.
"But, i'd be careful if I were you" she said as she walked away.
"Oh Yeah..." Peach began while turning around.
"If I catch you and my Mario kissing or doing anything drastic, you are Toast." she said while glaring
at her as she walked off.
"Hmmph, like I should believe what she says" Toadette mumbled while walking out of the building as well.
If I catch you and my Mario kissing or doing anything drastic, you are Toast...
This chapter introduced Toadette as a new character.
