Intense Trembling Chapter 13

"Now it's your turn Yukio. Say whatever is on your mind, anything you want to get off your chest."

"There Is absolutely nothing."

"Yukio I think this situation has become more serious than we think. I think it's best to involve your broth-"

"No! I can't! I just can't. That was the first time that's ever happened..." He looked at his now non flaming body in confusion and anguish. He had so many questions. Why did that happen? How could that happen? Wasn't he the normal one? Was that his awakening and if so would he soon gain the physical attributes of a demon like his brother? He tried to remain calm on the outside but inside his mind was reeling. This just couldn't be. It couldn't.

"Yukio..." Rin's blue eyes looked somewhat offended that his one and only little brother couldn't confide in him. The fact that there was something he felt he couldn't share with him, when he seemed comfortable confiding in a complete stranger and to think they used to share everything.

"It's nothing Niisan, don't worry about it."

Rin stood immediately,

"Yukio!"

The exorcist merely pushed up his glasses and faced away from his brother. Rin tried his hardest to read the expression. He felt something snap within him staring at that face. All he wanted to do is help! He was his brother damnit!

"Yukio look at me!"

Yukio's eyes remained in his lap.

"Yukio LOOK at me."

Turquoise eye slowly rose to meet similar blue ones.

"What Rin?" He whispered shortly.

"I know something has been going on. You're keeping something from me." A frustrated sigh escaped his lips as he ran a trembling hand through his hair.

"Yukio... I...I mean you can tell me anything! You really can!"

The demon crouched forward and abruptly took one of Yukio's hands in both of his, startling the younger .

"You can trust me Yukio."

"I-I just can't Nii San please understand."

"No! I've been trying to understand for years any other time I would never pry like this but I'm... I'm worried about you Yukio. You're my brother."

They're eyes met again. It wasn't that simple, thought the younger. Rin would be horrified if he found out that both of their worst fear had become reality. How was he supposed to say this?

"I love you Yukio. You're my brother. You're all I have." There was something childish, innocent, and puppy-like about those words and the expression on his hopeful face.

All I want is what's best for him. Is that so wrong?

Yukio stared into those eyes for as long as he could before he felt his usually strong resolve crumbling like debree around him.

"Ok... I-well..."

Rin just sat patiently, a sympathetic expression on his face.

"First things first," He took a deep breath to steady himself. "I meant to push you...I mean I... did push you."

"...oh... I-...oh..." The demon opened and closed his mouth for a moment contemplating what to say next. He was expecting something but this? Not this? It was only an accident, right? The older's mind trying to reason even though he finally heard it straight from the source's mouth. It couldn't be. It just couldn't.

Ms. Yuushi watched on with attentive eyes, not wanting to interfere with the moment.

This isn't the most important topic right now but it's a start.
