Chapter 11

"Why is this this happening to me?"

"I'm supposed to be living the life I want to live..."

Mario awoke from his bed on a Friday morning to the sound

of tweeting birds outside of his window, and frowned

as he saw Daisy sleeping peacefully beside him.

(Don't worry, they're still wearing their clothes from yesterday.

They weren't doing anything too... extreme."

"Apparently, she wanted to get Luigi back before any of this happened." Mario thought.

"She couldn't take it any longer, so she just fell apart like this."

"I have to admit, it was kind of Luigi's fault for all of this..."

"I also can't help but feel sorry for her, since she's the one

who has to go through all of this..."

Daisy suddenly stirred which interrupted Mario's thoughts.

"Mario?..." she mumbled while half-asleep.

"Daisy..." Mario whispered sadly.

She sat up slowly while rubbing her eyes,

"What time is it?..." she said sleepily while yawning.

"9:26" Mario said while looking at his clock on his side

table.

"Daisy, I really think you should go home before

anyone finds out you're here." Mario said worriedly.

"Why... why can't I stay here with you?" Daisy asked while looking at Mario.

"Daisy please... I'm not the one you love." Mario said while looking away.

"Don't you realize I'm just a placeholder,

a barrier from whom which you truly love?" he asked staring back at her.

"You know that you belong with Luigi, and that I belong with Peach."

"Why should I belong to that...that...player" she said angrily.

"Just ditching me just for someone who's prettier, and

who thinks cares for him more than me."

"Well you kind of overreacted when he kissed Daisy..." Mario mentioned.

Daisy gave him a harsh glare but continued.

"He shouldn't be thinking that he can get away with kissing

any girl he pleases."

"Weren't you angry when you figured out he

kissed your girlfriend?" Daisy asked.

"Yes, but I wouldn't let that situation convince me to try

to forget that person, and try to seduce his brother into

ditched his girlfriend." Mario said sharply.

Daisy fell silent over that remark, and Mario continued.

"Instead, I would consider the consequences, but still

remain loyal to my boyfriend. Obviously Luigi made

a mistake, and he's sorry for it. Luigi probably thought that

you needed to cool down, but he still wanted to go to the dance,

so he decided to take Rosalina for the night not forever.

Of course, he didn't know that you still wanted to go to the

dance, but couldn't say to Rosalina that he didn't want to

go to the dance with her. Now after the dance, I hope

you'll realize that you should forgive Luigi, and you two

will be boyfriend/girlfriend again." Mario explained.

"Right now, I suggest finding someone to take to the dance,

then making up with Luigi afterwards." Mario finished.

He noticed that Daisy had a worried looked on her face,

and gave her a reassuring kiss on the cheek.

"Don't worry," he said with a smile.

"You'll get through this situation, I know you will."

Daisy smiled back and gave him a hug.

"That's a start." Mario pointed out.

Then they both shared a hearty laugh for a few seconds while

smiling at each other.

"Well," Daisy said while getting out of the bed.

"Thanks Mario." she said kindly.

"By the way... would you mind opening up the window for me?"

she asked while putting on her shoes.

"Ok?" Mario said confused while opening up the nearest window.

They both stared at each other for a couple of seconds.

Silence.

"See you at the dance!" Daisy said breaking the silence and slipping out.

Mario watched her leave and waved at her.

"Good Luck, Daisy..." Mario whispered while shutting the window.

"Mario? What was that?" Luigi called from his room.

"Nothing! Just wanted fresh air!" Mario called back.

"Ahhh... Mario..."

"Yes...more...more..."

"AHH!" Toadette was abruptly awoken by her

alarm clock, with her sitting straight up in bed

shaking and sweating.

"Ugh, set it too loud for today..."Toadette mumbled as

she turned down the volume of the clock.

"I was even in the middle of a great dream..."

she said while blushing slightly.

"Well, time to travel back to reality Toadette." she said to herself while

stepping into the shower.

She thought to herself while she turned on the water.

"First day of school, you met a cute guy, you met the cute guy's

"close friend" and was "threatened", you now have many new friends,

and you still don't know who you're going to the dance with.

Story of my life... literally."

After a few minutes, Toadette stepped out of the shower, and wrapped a light-pink

towel around her waist and dried her moist and glistening hair using a baby blue-colored

blow-dryer. "I would've thought that at least one person would've asked me by now..."

she thought to herself. She then quickly dressed herself with a sparkly, hot pink vest

with a blouse underneath, and matching shorts. She also thought of styling her hair,

but she thought otherwise. "The dance is tomorrow... am I really going alone

for my fir-" As if on cue, a sudden knock on her door interrupted her thoughts.

She quickly ran to the door, to see a nervous Toad standing at her doorstep.

"I sorry I didn't ask you earlier, I-I had things to do..." Toad while shuffling his feet.

"So... would you like to go to the dance with me?" he asked hopefully.

"Of course! Why would I say no?" Toadette said happily.

"Really? I mean... great! I'll see you tomorrow then!" Toad said gratefully as he walked away.

Toadette closed the door with a happy sigh.

"He's not Mario, but he's just as perfect." she thought with a smile.

"Everything is perfect!" Peach giggled.

"Perfect soon-to-be boyfriend, Perfect dress for the dance,

Perfect friends to go with, and no one to intervene..." she narrowed her

eyes while thinking of Toadette.

"She thinks she's so pretty, thinking she can march into

the school and steal Mario away from me." she growled.

Her phone suddenly vibrated as she received a text from Daisy.

(Note: Sent text, received text)

Srry, I'll b slightly l8 4 the dance today.

Why? I thought we were supposed to go together?

I'll still b there, but just a little l8r k?

K...

"I hope she has a good excuse for coming late." Peach said annoyed.

"The worst she could do is not showing up at all..."

Peach turned and smiled as she took one look at her shiny and sparkling light-pink dress.

"Once again, you'll stand out to the crowd Peach." she said to herself while giggling.

"It's surely going to be a magical night..."

"I can only imagine it... Mario and I in a slow dance... he looks at

me with those shining, blue eyes and smiling. He suddenly dips me,

kisses me and makes it official that we're boyfriend/girlfriend...

"Ohhh" Peach moaned slightly at the thought of it.

"But, I shouldn't get ahead of myself. The dance isn't even tonight." she said while blushing.

"I still have plenty of time to prepare... Who knows what'll happen at the dance..."

Toadette is a regular teenager, with sparkling pink hair, and sparkling eyes, and other features,

not the cute, little mushroom gal from the regular Mario series. (She looks like a toad, but more like a human. Confused?")
