Fury stepped out and got on board of his quinjet and found Coulson, Barton, and Romanoff waiting for him. "Good work everyone" said Fury as he took a seat and the quinjet took off.
"Why are we here sir?" asked Natasha as they returned to base. Barton seemed to nod in agreement wondering the same thing.
Coulson moved to answer when Fury spoke up "Have you heard of the Avengers Initiative?" Clint and Natasha looked at each other knowing that rumor had it that Fury was gathering a team of people together. "I thought so, Shield was formed from the remnants of the SSR after World War II and in all of that time, and we have always strived to have a team similar to Captain America's Howling Commandos."
"So what makes now different than before?" asked Natasha not sure how she felt this conversation is going. Clint looked out and saw that they were landing on top of a gym in New York.
"Quite a few things actually" said Fury as he led Clint and Natasha off of the quinjet. "Coulson I'll meet you soon with our little meeting this afternoon" he said as Coulson moved to object but decided against it.
Fury led them inside where they were greeted by Shield agents who waved them through, they descended stairs "An old agent of ours is returning to service and I need you two to run him through his paces" said Fury as Natasha and Clint could hear a punching bag getting beat up. Fury opened the door and the two of them stepped through seeing a large man pounding a punching bag so hard that the bag split. "Black Widow, Hawkeye, I would like to introduce you to Captain America" he said as Steve Rogers turned to look at them.
