This tale is told from a variety of perspectives but it is focuses on Tori's point of view and thoughts.
The next thing she knew, Victoria felt someone slam into her body with an energetic hug. To her surprise, it was Cat, the redhead having obviously recognized her. Victoria awkwardly returned the hug, realizing that she didn't feel that warm tingly sensation associated with the mysterious person that she still could not quite recall. While Cat was chattering on about how much she missed her, Victoria tried to get a better look at the person that Cat had been talking to. Their face and aspect was shrouded in shadows, making it difficult to tell whether it was a man or woman. As if aware of Victoria's attention, the figure inclined its head in a respectful nod, and then strolled into the nearby alleyway, vanishing from her sight. Victoria returned her attention to Cat, and interrupted the redhead: "Who was that person you were talking to just now? Why do they look so odd?"
Cat stopped talking in the middle of her tangent about her brother's latest escapade, and replied to Victoria's question: "That was someone who cares very much about you. They haven't been the same since the incident near the Santa Monica pier. I think they took it harder than Beck, Robbie or Andre did". Cat couldn't believe that Tori had not recognized who she had been speaking with, but reminded herself that the incident had been pretty harrowing. she thought to herself: "I wonder if Robbie and Andre are still trying to get Rex and Beck to see a counselor? Trina said that she'd get *her* to stop moping around, but she's hardly spoken a single word". Cat shuddered as images and sensations of pain, terror and Tori's screams of agony flashed through her mind, followed shortly by the memory of Beck calling for emergency services while Robbie and Rex tried to calm down Tori's lover. Cat shook her head, and hugged Tori a little more tightly to her.
Victoria felt something shift in her mind, as some of the details of the mystery person became a little clearer, all the while Cat studied her with a look of great concern and some sadness. A few moments of awkward silence passed as the two women started walking towards a pink sedan parked nearby. Victoria spared the vehicle a brief glance, noticing that the license plate read "B1BBl3". As the two women entered the sedan, a well-dressed figure observed them from the alleyway. If one could study the shadowed aspect of this individual, it would seem like they were either shy or reluctant to trust the evidence of their own eyes. If a person were to be within fifteen feet of them, they might hear the figure muttering in a saddened voice: "I thought she was in the clinic. She wasn't supposed to be out this time of night. Maybe she remembers me. Whatever. I need to call Beck and Rex about this."
The pink sedan drove off towards the place that Victoria had left before she wandered the city, unaware that another two cars shadowed its journey. Upon arriving at a simple, unassuming building that gave no outward indication of the purpose it held, Cat and Tori got out of the sedan. "Let's go inside, Tori" said the normally bubbly redhead to the confused Latina. Neither woman noticed the figures emerging from the other two cars parked just around the corner, much to these new interlopers' relief.
"Man, why are we here? I'm still not sure why tall, Latina and annoying said to follow them" said a figure carried by a short but thin man wearing glasses and an afro. To that query came a swift response from the more masculine of two figures flanking him: "Rex, you and I both watched her nearly die in the ambulance. This is the first time she's shown enough awareness to seek us out". The stranger from the alleyway spoke up in a quiet, soft and dangerous tone of voice: "You three just be silent. The last thing I need is for you guys to argue like children over these circumstances. I was there too, Rex. If you recall, I ripped your freaking head off at the hospital when she flat-lined. I'm just as surprised as Beck is that she actually left her room."
Meanwhile, Victoria and Cat had entered the room from earlier, it was still relatively unadorned and simple, but on closer inspection the words carven into the walls spelled out a plea for its occupant to regain her memories. The precise wording was "Victoria, I know you are trying to recover from the accident at Santa Monica but it kills me to see that you don't see me or remember me. I am begging on my knees, Victoria. Don't give up, I love you. Come back to me" followed by a strange carven star emblazoned with a stylized J.
Victoria again felt things become a little more clearer, this time she caught flashes of laughter, pale skin and screaming. Her screaming. Pain, panic and a loud roaring noise. With a sudden intake of breath, Victoria turned around to see a man holding a puppet standing next to another man with kindly eyes, and a woman with luxurious raven black hair, a jet black business suit, piercing eyes that held unshed tears, and a necklace that carried a blood-red diamond etched with the words "Victoria's Girl". Some strange instinct compelled Victoria to utter a cry of surprise: "Jade?!"
"Victoria," said Jade West, "you came back to me? What do you remember?".
