This tale is told from a variety of perspectives but it is focuses on Tori's point of view and thoughts.

Victoria blinked her eyes, and spoke : "I...remember some flashes of light, your laughter and pale skin... Someone screaming. My screaming. Pain, panic and a loud roaring noise like a very loud bang". Jade's tears began to fall freely, as she swept her girlfriend into a tight hug. Victoria buried her face into the crook of Jade's neck, sobbing hard at the effort it took to answer her. A small part of Victoria actually marveled at how tingly and warm she felt in Jade's embrace, like she was safe and no one could hurt her. After what seemed like an hour, the two women reluctantly disengaged from the intimate embrace and regarded each other with worried eyes.

Jade couldn't believe it: Her Tori was actually recovering, it had taken six months and lots of expert care by her sister Trina, who had devoted some time to researching how to help victims of severe trauma and memory loss recover, for a role she auditioned for before the incident at Santa Monica's pier. "Tori, I'm going to stay at your side tonight. Trina's still at work, so I will take care of you. Beck, Robbie, Cat and Rex are going to help me" she said with a soothing tone that was rarely heard from the mouth of Jade West. The other individuals present in the room made murmurs of agreement, because each of them felt that they must take care of their friend. She would do the same if they were the ones needing care and comfort. Jade heard Rex speak up with a very emotional voice: "Don't worry Jade. Rob and I hate seeing Tori in distress like this. We'll go and gather the sleeping bags, power bars and beverages from our vehicles. I'd give my life to bring her back to her old self. " With that Robbie and Rex left the room with Cat in tow.

Beck shook his head with an air of resigned amusement to his aspect, as he wished that Trina was able to see how faithful Jade was to her sister. He asked Jade with a silent glance for permission to hug Tori, and received an affirmative look in response. He hesitantly pulled Tori into a hug, and felt a surge of panic as he realized how fragile she seemed in his arms.

Victoria again felt things become a little more clearer, this time she caught sight of a clearer picture of something:

It was a well lit night in Los Angeles, the group was out celebrating the anniversary of her and Jade's first triple date with Robbie and Cat and Trina and Beck. It was the fourth of July, and there was a special event planned at the Santa Monica pier. Sinjin and Burf recommended that the happy couples go to the event, saying that it was a once in a life opportunity. While taking the metro rail to the pier, Tori and Jade kept bickering playfully about some girl that had made eyes at Tori. "Vega, Tori, that skank was ogling you like you were a piece of meat! I have to protect what's mine." Victoria rolled her eyes and replied to her girlfriend's obvious pretend overreaction: "Jade, she looked at me the same way she looked at Beck and Cat. She didn't make any moves, probably because of our matching necklaces."

Jade made a valiant effort to pout adorably but failed, earning a round of snickers from the other girls in the group. The guys on the other hand, were busy discussing something.

Victoria was brought out of her flashback, when Beck released her from his embrace. She looked at Jade with a tender expression on her face, and related what she had remembered to Jade, who began smiling like she had during that one time after Tori helped her produce her play.

A/N: unexpectedly, this is turning into a multi-chapter that might go longer than I originally envisioned. Maybe five chapters or so.
