Chapter 2

Stalking Gone Bad

"That was romantic, son!" this sentence greeted Natsume when he arrived home. He looked boringly at the empty mansion and then back to his mother.

"You were out there for hours! The guests already left. Don't tell me you followed her till she reaches her house?" Kaoru stared at his son unbelievingly for a short while. She recovered fast enough and shot her son a dreamingly look. "That was so sweet, son!"

Natsume rolled his eyes. "Shut up, okaa-san." He answered impolitely. But Kaoru, instead of getting mad, giggled and gawked teasingly at his son. She patted his head, which Natsume really hate. He shoved her hand away and shot her a menacing glare.

"Good luck dear, I hope you'll see her again." Her mother said with a meaningful smile. Natsume arched his brow and gave her a questioning look. Feeling confused, a thought entered his head.

"You know her, okaa-san?" He asked, demanding for an answer. Kaoru narrowed her eyes, observing his son's facial expression and smirked.

"Sec—ret." Kaoru laughed. She already sensed that his son would ask for it. Of course she knew who that girl was but she wanted his son to get challenged.

Natsume frowned and just muttered. "Whatever." He walked to the pile of presents and only took one out of them - the one that she threw at him.

"Ooooh, such a great pair…" Kaoru dreamingly said to no one. Natsume sighed before leaving his mother alone. He went to his room and shut the door.

He scanned his room and saw his four friends playing a shooting game on his playstation. Their attention was so fixed to the 52-inch LCD monitor in front of them while rapidly pressing keys on their gamepad. He looked at them and sighed as he put the present in his study table.

He sighed once again as he sat on the edge of his bed. One of them noticed him.

"Yo Natsume!" The one with spiky and dirty blonde hair greeted goofily. "How's your birthday man?" he added. His yellowish eyes still fixed to the monitor. "Boom, headshot!" he shouted in joy.

"You didn't have to hit my character like that, Koko-kun." Another boy with short blonde hair and brown eyes cried. He pushed up the spectacles covering his eyes and smiled sadly at Koko.

"Wooo, that's what you get for spacing out, Yuu!" Koko said in victorious voice.

Natsume stayed silent as he laid on his bed. He stared at the ceiling, still thinking about the little girl. Just a mere thought of the girl was giving him goosebumps.

'Is she that ugly that I feel like I wanted to throw up?'

"Natsume?" A worried voice called. He stared at the source of the voice and saw a blond boy with worried stare on his deep-azure eyes. It was his best friend. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Ruka." Natsume answered as he sat down again.

"Is everything good, Natsume? Did something bad happened out there earlier?" Ruka asked again. Natsume could feel the sincerity in his voice. He was so glad to have a best friend like him.

"Nothing really. Everything went fine." He answered emphasizing the word "fine" which made them to stare at him unbelievingly.

A loud thud was heard as everyone unconsciously dropped their gamepad and stared unbelievingly at Natsume.

"N-N-Natsume, are you sick?! This is the first time you said that at the day of your birthday!" Koko shouted in disbelief.

"Yeah, you usually curse this day." Yuu followed up. He looked at Ruka who also stared back to him, not believing what he just heard.

"Did something new happened to you today, Natsume?" another of his friend with semi-bald, black-haired boy asked. It was Mochu, who sneakily took his gamepad as he grinned evilly.

"Mochu! No cheating!" Koko yelled as he playfully smacked Mochu on the head.

Natsume rolled his eyes on all the commotion happening in his room.

"Tch. Is it wrong to be fine at time like this, freaks?" Natsume replied nonchalantly. Crossing his legs, he took out his phone and searched for the latest photo he took. He stared at it again like he was memorizing the appearance of the girl in the photo.

'It was much better if it wasn't not dark outside.' Natsume thought and sighed. But his thought was cut when his phone got snatched by one of his friends. He raised his head and saw a wide grin from Koko.

"KOKO! GIVE THAT BACK TO ME!" he yelled furiously at the goofy guy. Koko ran to the other side of the room, away from everyone.

"I'll just take a look! You were so serious looking at it!" he yelled back with one of his annoying smile.

Koko's POV

I snatched the phone away from Natsume. I was just curious why he was staring at his phone seriously. He was chasing me and I stopped at a corner. Then I took a peek at the screen of the phone.

Oh crap.

I froze. Oh hell yea, I froze, man.

"Koko what's wrong? Yuu approached and asked me. I couldn't utter any word. I just couldn't take my eyes off the photo. Why you ask? Because I knew this girl! My thoughts were cut when Natsume took his phone away from my grasp.

"What the hell is wrong with you Koko?" Natsume asked furiously. I looked at his crimson eyes. It was burning in fury. Oh, this is interesting man! I focused my eyes to Natsume and shot him my most annoying smile.

"The girl in your phone is very familiar Natsume. She caught my attention." I emphasized the word 'attention'. Of course it really caught my attention but not in any romantic way. Wonder why?

I saw the others took a glance at the phone too. Natsume glared at them and stuffed the phone back to his pocket. His actions were really interesting.

"Is that your girlfriend, Natsume?" Ruka, asked him as he stared at him blankly. Okay, my face became pale and I almost fainted. Natsume and the girl in the photo? Lovers?

Impossible. Why?

Because that girl IS my cousin. End of story. No way in the world that they would become lovers at this young age of ours.

But Natsume… his actions. I could tell that he was very interested in her.

I chuckled. What a great coincidence.

End of Koko's POV

"You've got a beautiful chick there Natsume!" Mochu praised.

"Damn it! Will you all shut up! She's not my girlfriend!" Natsume retorted. Koko could finally breathe normally.

"Then, who is she?" Ruka asked with curiosity in his voice. He noticed that Natsume was acting weird. It was very unlike him.

"None of your business, Ruka" Natsume replied. He calmed himself down and sat on his bed again. His friends followed him.

"You know man, I always see that girl in a park near our house. And yeah, that's what I meant a while ago." Koko stated as it was the most obvious thing in the world.

The Next Day… 9am…

After Koko said that he always see the girl in the park near his house, Natsume immediately declared that they will sleepover at Koko's house.

Now, they were behind the bushes in the said park, waiting for her to arrive.

"Do we really need to hide Natsume? Can we just sit at one bench and wait?" Ruka complained. They were like hiding at the bushes for 30 minutes straight.

"You like her that much huh..." Koko teased. Oh how he loved to tease Natsume. It was really amusing for him. Natsume rotated his head and shot Koko a deadly glare.

"Tch, leave me alone if u want." He stated icily.

Yuu on the other hand, heard some rustling on the nearby bushes.

"Natsume…..I-" Yuu was about to say something but Natsume cut him.

"I said stop complaining!" Yuu sighed and scanned the place once again. He thought someone else was watching them but his observation ended when he heard someone playing a flute. Koko smiled goofily. He knew that she was already there.

"That's Amazing Grace!" Yuu exclaimed excitedly while listening to the sound created by the flute.

"Very relaxing, even if I don't know that song, I like it already." Ruka commented with a smile.

Natsume stared at the beautiful girl that was playing the flute. She was under the shade of a Sakura tree with her eyes closed. He adored how peaceful and calm her face was. He was totally lost on watching her. He could feel his heart started to pound erratically.

'She only plays that song when she's sad. Is she sad?' Koko muttered - stupidly. Then he saw Ruka signaling that they should leave Natsume alone.

Natsume was so absorbed on his own world and didn't notice that his friends already left him.

"Are you sure that we should leave him alone, Ruka?" Koko asked.

"He might get angry at us!" Mochu stated in fear.

"Let's just leave him for the moment." Ruka replied and took one last glance on his best friend.

They all looked where Yuu was standing. They saw him being held by a big man wearing a black suit.

"Hey old man! Release our friend!" Mochu yelled angrily. He was about to attack the man in black when a girl around their age came out behind the man.

"Why were you stalking my friend behind the bushes?" A stoic raven haired girl with amethyst colored eyes asked coldly. Koko's eyes widen in recognition.

"Imai – san!" Koko said aloud. The stoic girl looked at him.

"Yome Kokoro.." she said and narrowed her eyes. She shot him a very deadly glare. Koko hid behind Ruka. "Dear God, save me." He murmured.

"Release that boy." She commanded and the man in black followed her.

Yuu ran and hid behind Koko. The stoic girl took a weird, gun-shaped thing out of her bag and….

BAKA! BAKA! BAKA!

…three weird shots were heard.

Koko was now unconsciously lying on the ground with three bumps on his forehead. Yuu, Ruka and Mochu looked at Koko's unconscious body in terror.

"Yome, don't you dare do some stupid experiments to her. I will kill you and shred you into pieces. Mark my word." She threatened and started to walk away. But before she can go any further, someone grabbed her arm.

Her bodyguard was about to drag the boy away, but Hotaru signaled him to not take action.

"Hey, why did you do to Koko?" Ruka asked her in angry tone.

The stoic girl remained calm and composed.

"Get your filthy hands off me." She said in commanding tone. She aimed her gun at him but Ruka didn't budge.

"Why did you do that to Koko?" Ruka asked again, desperately. The stoic girl was shocked but didn't show it. He was not afraid or scared of whatever she could do to him. Her lips formed a smirk and…

Click!

Ruka got blinded by a very bright light.

"How annoying your face is…"

Ruka was taken aback and rubbed his eyes.

"….idiot." She finished and started to walk away. Ruka was left behind, stunned.

Natsume was still at his own trance, awed at the talent of the girl. The girl finished playing the piece and it made him snap back to reality. He looked around just to see that he was alone.

'Those stupid freaks, they leftme alone.' He thought then diverted his eyes back to the girl. But what he saw almost gave him a heart attack.

He saw a pair of hazel eyes, staring intently at his crimson ones. Then he noticed she was holding a weird gun-shaped thing, aimed at him, and at her side was a stoic raven-haired girl.

"I hate stalkers, jerk." Then Natsume suffered the wrath of the Imai's baka-gun.

Another three shots were heard.

Natsume's POV

"Nice, he didn't pass out. This invention needs more tweaking." I heared the stoic, cold, poker-faced raven haired girl said. For Pete's sake, what was that weird thing? It hurt, but of course I would never show that I was hurt. I massaged my forehead. Crap, I've got three small bumps.

"What was that for?" I asked furiously, trying to regain my composure.

"Why are you following me?" I stared at her questioning hazel eyes. I almost got lost on my trance again, but managed to snap out of it.

"I was not following you, maybe in your dreams." Was my smart-ass reply. Tch. This was ridiculous. I've got caught. Now what?

"Is that so? Well, a Hyuuga stalking a girl will make a wonderful headline. It will make my family richer. So if you don't want that to happen, back off." That annoying poker-faced girl threatened with her freezing cold voice. I rolled my eyes. Fine, I didn't want that to happen.

"Hotaru, just leave him alone. If he said he wasn't stalking or following me, let him be, and for sure, this time will be the last time." The ugly girl said with glint of sadness in her voice. Wait, that was confusing, what did she mean?

I heard the girl named Hotaru sigh.

"Let's leave now. The pathetic stalker of yours has already ruined the peaceful day." Grrr. That freaky Hotaru said. She was getting on my nerves. She shot me a threatening glare before they walked away. I just watched them. The ugly girl looked sad and it was bugging me. I sighed. I guess I would need to talk to her tomorrow. Nothing would happen if I didn't take the courage to talk decently to her.

Natsume went where she played the flute a while ago. He sat on the bench under the shade of the Sakura tree and noticed something on the ground. A flute case. He knew it belonged to that girl. He picked it up and examined at it. Something written to it caught his attention and made him smirk.

Private Property of Yukihira Family.

"So, a Yukihira huh? Bad thing, only a surname is here. Tch." He put the case in his pocket and started to walk away.

At the Yukihira Mansion…

"You look more idiotic and uglier when you're sad, Mikan." Hotaru said. Her tone was not as cold as her usual tone.

"I will miss this place, especially you, Hotaruuuu." She replied childishly and wiped the tears that formed in the corner eyes.

"Stupid, it's only for a couple of years. Don't cry or else …" she aimed the baka-gun at her "…you know what will happen."

"Hai." She replied and smiled. "I wonder what London looks like. Maybe there are many foreigners there, right, Hotaru?"

Hotaru showed her rare smile to her. Mikan was still smiling stupidly.

"Idiot."
