Chapter 6

The Cafeteria Problem 2

Mikan was currently holding a cellphone, staring at a photo of a blushing raven haired kid. She smiled, remembering the scene back in her childhood days.

"So this kid is him. Is he still after this ugly photo?" Mikan asked stupidly at herself while scratching the back of her head. She sat at the edge of her bed and stared back at the photo.

"But he looks cute, unique crimson eyes. Not bad." She commented.

While she was 'examining that photo' a knock on her door was heard…

"Wait a minute…" She placed her phone at her side table and then went to the door. But when she opened the door, her eyes grew wide in shock and immediately closed it hard.

"Why is he here? Hotaru you traitor…" She cursed under her breath.

"Hey, Hey, Hey, open up this door! I know it's you Mikan! Imai-san said it all!" A goofy voice said behind the door. Mikan hit her head a couple of times on the door before sighing and opening the it.

"How much now, Koko?" Mikan asked as she let Koko in.

"Oi, it costed me 100,000,000 yen just to know that you are in her house and another 100mil to let me in. Imai-san becomes more greedy now, ne?" Koko said and then laughed as he imagined the greedy face of the money freak.

BAKA! BAKA! BAKA!

Koko was shot 3 times at the back of his head. He fell flat on the floor.

"Is that how you thank me? Stupid backstabber." Hotaru, who suddenly appeared said in a cold and scary voice. Mikan sighed.

"Why did you tell him Hotaru?" Mikan asked.

"Money always comes first." Hotaru said and then left. Mikan sat at the edge of her bed.

"Are you ok, Koko?" Mikan asked in a concern voice. She looked at him with a small smile. The truth was she missed this goofy cousin of hers.

Koko stood up and massaged the back of his neck due to the impact of the baka-gun. He flashed a wide grin and hug Mikan…tight.

"It is really you! I miss you!" Koko said while hugging Mikan.

"I-I- - Can't breathe." Koko immediately released her. Mikan heaved a deep sigh. "That was dramatic Koko." She added.

"Gomen ne, just kidding." Koko sat beside her. "So mind telling me why are you doing these things?"

"What things?" Mikan asked stupidly.

"C'mon Mikan, you should be in England right?"

"Is this some kind of interview?"

"Yep, pretty please, tell me, I'm your cousin!"

"I just don't want to leave this place. I don't like England." Mikan shivered as she remembered her first day at England.

Her head felt light as she remembered how weird and different England is from Japan. She shivered in fear. "That place is just…weird. Hotaru wasn't there so I don't know what to do. Mom and Dad were always away, too. You-chan was too busy watching kiddy shows." She sighed. "Then there were these English people that wanted to interview me, like every day. It was chaotic."

Koko watched her in amusement as she kept telling her reasons. Then he laughed hard.

"Hahaha, Mikan that is so you. You haven't changed a bit." Koko pointed out and wiped the tears on his eyes.

Mikan looked at the ceiling with a sad smile. She sighed. "I just want to live peacefully, like now."

Koko flashed his trademark goofy smile and patted Mikan's back.

"Away from all those rich kid problems eh?" Koko nodded in understanding.

"Yeah, this kind of living was peaceful. I loved it" Mikan said.

"Last one question, why are you using the surname of your great-great-great-grandfather?" Koko asked, Mikan stared at his cousin like he was the most stupid person in the world.

"Are you dumb, Koko? I just said I want a peaceful living. That surname will give me headache." Mikan facepalmed.

Koko shrugged keeping the goofy smile on her face. He understood her, she was the type of girl that didn't like showing off.

He noticed the cellphone on Mikan's nightstand. He grinned evilly as he remembered her picture at Natsume's phone. He picked it up and looked at it. He almost dropped it in shock.

"Hey! Don't touch my things without permission!" Mikan yelled and snatched the phone away from him.

Koko stared unbelievingly at Mikan. "You have a picture of Natsume too? Ooooh," He jawdropped.

"This means nothing, foolish Koko!" Mikan retorted and hid her phone back to her pocket.

Koko saw a faint blush on her face. 'Oooh, this is really interesting.' He thought.

The next day, Mikan was walking in the hallway silently. She was still sleepy because she didn't have enough sleep last night. Thanks to Koko for bugging and teasing him to this Natsume. She kept on yawning until she bumped into a certain someone. She didn't fall down but her things did, wonder why? Because the one she bumped in hugged her before she fell. She didn't know who this was but she felt safe in those arms.

"Enjoying yourself, aren't you, kaichou-san?" A rather familiar voice asked which made Mikan snapped back to reality. She immediately pushed the guy away and glared at him. There she saw those tantalizing crimson eyes and she sighed in annoyance.

"Keep dreaming, new student." She said trying to be composed. She immediately collected her things and walked away again.

"That stalker is really annoying." Mikan said to herself while walking.

'She smells so good. Today is my day.' Natsume thought. His thought was cut when he felt many murderous stares around him. He kept looking around but couldn't see anyone. Not until he heard a cheerful voice behind him.

"Yo! What do we have here? Are you guys playing detectives?" Natsume immediately turned his back and saw a guy with shiny dark blue hair and matching blue eyes talking to no one near the big trashcan. He even saw a star like tattoo near his left eye. How weird.

"Hey guys, why are you hiding there, are you at a stakeout or something?" The guy kept talking near the big trashcan. Natsume looked at him like he was insane or something. But everything became clear when the blue haired guy dragged a guy out behind the trashcan. Then many other guys came out. They were all glaring at Natsume.

"What the hell are they doing?" Natsume asked himself.

The blue-haired guy looked where the boys were glaring. He smiled at Natsume and approached him.

"Yo! You're a new student right?" The blue-haired guy asked, examining him from head to toe.

"So what?" Natsume replied coldly.

"Woah, that was a very cold approach, I'm Andou Tsubasa. Did you do something that made these guys mad at you?"

"Who cares, I don't even know them. Tch." Natsume replied and then walked away.

"He's not friendly huh?" He laughed merrily. The guy who was hiding at the back of the trashcan approached him with a confused expression.

"Why did you do that, vice-pres? That was mean." The guy asked.

"You guys, I can't really understand you." Tsubasa said as he laughed loudly and then walked the opposite side.

"He's hopeless." One of the guys said while shaking his head in disappointment.

"I don't know if he was dense or something." Another one said and then they all leave.

The class started and Mikan kept on sighing. She was thinking what happened earlier. What's bothering her was the fact that he was still glancing at her.

"What does that guy want?" She asked to herself and shot Natsume a deadly glare. Natsume smirked and winked at her.

"Damn, a wink. A perverted wink." Mikan thought, giving the wink a lot of meaning.

She almost threw-up.

Natsume kept on glancing at her, like he wanted to memorize every side of her. He saw her glared at him and he replied it with an unconscious wink. He couldn't help it.

But he could still sense the murderous aura inside the classroom.

'This feeling, did they want to kill me?'

"Ehem..Sakura-san and Hyuuga-san please pay attention. Especially you, Hyuuga-san, you were new in this institution." Jinno-sensei said grimly.

"Hn." He answered but didn't really care.

Lunch Break…at the cafeteria…

Mikan and her friends were silently eating at the cafeteria and also Natsume and his friends. Until someone approached Mikan's table and covered her eyes. Mikan could feel the breath of this someone near her ears.

"Guess who?" A cheerful voice asked that made Mikan's heart skipped a beat.

"Oh! Tsubasa-senpai you're back!" Anna and Nonoko squealed in unison. Tsubasa laughed and removed his hands from covering Mikan's eyes. He sat beside her.

"Yeah, just yesterday. I miss this school. Especially this kaichou beside me." Tsubasa said and smiled at Mikan.

Mikan remained silent.

"Hey, what happened to your tongue? Daijobu?" Tsubasa asked worriedly at Mikan.

"I'm fine. Y-yeah, Welcome back." Mikan said and she smiled warmly at Tsubasa.

She could feel her face heated up. She listened intently to Tsubasa's stories.

Meanwhile, at the table where Natsume was, his friends could feel the tension and the deadly glare Natsume kept on throwing to the guy besides Mikan. Natsume kept on cursing under his breath.

"It feels like I'm being cursed." Tsubasa suddenly muttered. The girls looked at him curiously.

"I should be the one asking if you are okay." Mikan said in teasing tone then touched Tsubasa's forehead.

"Wow! So cute and sweet!" Anna said dreamingly.

"The curse is getting powerful." Tsubasa joked, but he could really feel it. Sweats formed in his forehead and Mikan noticed it.

"You're sweating." She took her handkerchief and wiped Tsubasa's sweats away.

"Thanks." Tsubasa said and smiled warmly at her. Mikan blushed.

"Oh Tsubasa-kun! You're so lucky to have Mikan-chan! By the way, can you be mine?" Sumire dreamingly said, with stars in her eyes.

Hotaru shot her with the baka gun.

"OW! What was that for Hotaru-chan!" Sumire asked in pain. Hotaru rolled her eyes and continued eating, ignoring the whining permed girl. But her gaze went to the crimson eyed lad at a nearby table. She furrowed her brow and smirked.

'Interesting.'

"Natsume calm down." Ruka tried to calm his best friend down. He was clenching his fist like he was ready to kill someone. Her eyes showed annoyance and glint of jealousy.
