Addicted To You
Chapter 13
…
Wrong Decision 3
"Moshi, moshi?"
'What you said is right Youichi-bocchama, someone was trying to get more information about Mikan-bocchama…again.' Youichi heard the man on the other line sighed.
"You know what to do right? Catch that spy and pay him 5x the amount that was offered to him."
'Hai. Do I also need to hand the fake information over?'
"Baka, that's your job. Just like what you do to the other spies."
'Hai. I'll finish it immediately.'
…
Youichi's POV
I couldn't believe it, everything that happened was according to my plan.
Maybe that jerk thought that someone like me would only do things that were too simple. Heh, that was too childish.
He shouldn't underestimate a Yukihira.
First: Luna Koizumi
Second: His father - I just anonymously called him telling that his son was madly in-love to a poor girl. He immediately flew back to Japan. How stupid.
Third: That advice that he immediately bit.
Fouth: That Andou – Heh. Coincidence really happened. Luck was on my side.
Fifth: And now, that spy that Hyuuga's father sent, once again.
Hyuuga's father was too messed up. That made me to hate that Natsume jerk more. I knew my sister will never like him. What was special about that guy anyway? He was just a stalker who liked to mess up someone's life.
I shouldn't care about him anymore. It was not like he could do anything right now. He was glued to that Luna girl and now nee-chan's already here, together with me.
End of Youichi's POV
…
Nogi Mansion, Evening that day…
In the garden of the Nogi mansion, a small conference was happening. Natsume and his gang were all there, sitting on a round table. They all arrived after Ruka called them all.
They were chatting about how Natsume messed everything up with Mikan.
"You made a real great move there, Natsume! I can't believe you actually followed Youichi's advice! His advice was the most terrible thing to follow in the world, didn't I warn you about that?" Koko exclaimed after hearing Natsume's explanation.
"Oh, shut up." Natsume replied and rolled his eyes.
"Natsume, I want to ask you something." Ruka started, worry was in his tone. Natsume watched his best friend and raised his brow.
…
"What?" He asked Ruka.
"Why are you really following Sakura-san?" Ruka started. "Natsume, you only saw her on your birthday once, you also met her once in the park and that was seven years ago! Do you like her or you just want to prove something to yourself?"
Natsume fell silent. To his best friend's outburst. He stared with his eyes open wide at Ruka. He was serious.
What does he want to imply?
"What's with you?" Natsume retorted.
"Natsume, I think Ruka has a point. Maybe you only got challenged because she treated you differently unlike other girls out there." Natsume heard Mochu commented. He was not looking at him. He clenched his fist in annoyance.
Are they provoking me?
Natsume glared at them. A deadly one. He felt something bad about this. With the exception of Ruka, all of them lowered their heads.
"So? What do you want to tell me now?" Natsume asked, his glare never leaving them.
"Natsume, I think this thing is getting complicated." Ruka said.
"That's right man, if you're not sure of what's your purpose on stalking my cousin, we suggest that we should go back to our old school." Koko added.
You guys know nothing.
"We know that you want to get close with Sakura-san, but then what's next? Let just go back!" Yuu added.
Natsume stood up which startled all of them. They just made him mad. Really mad.
"Then go back. You think I care? Just go back to where the hell you came from." He told them icily.
"They should not mess with me now. Not at time like this."
"Natsume…" Ruka called out.
"Fools. You think you know everything about me?" Natsume added, fuming in anger.
"That's the point Natsume! You drag us here and then tell us nothing! You keep it all to yourself. Do you even know to yourself what are you feeling?" Ruka said again. Natsume gawked at him.
That was true. I wanted to keep it to myself. Well, that was me. I didn't like telling anyone what I feel.
"Then leave me alone." Natsume muttered angrily before walking away.
That conversation got on his nerves. What do they want to prove?
Don't they already know I like her so much?
'Maybe you only got challenged because she treated you differently unlike other girls out there.'
I didn't get challenged. I liked her more because she treated me differently. It was something I was always looking for.
She gave me a weird feeling from the very first time we met; and I still have that feeling until now.
I feel my heartbeat rushed while thinking that I've already fall in love.
I love her. And thinking of leaving her to go back to where I came from is something I couldn't do.
The anger I felt was washed away all of the sudden.
Maybe this is what they want me to realize.
Those guys.
…
"Man, Ruka! We just made him very angry!" Koko complained. He sighed in relief that Natsume didn't kill them…yet.
"You think that will work? Natsume is so short-tempered!" Mochu added.
"He must be short-tempered but he's good in analyzing things. If he didn't get it, then prepare a drop-out form or he'll kill us soon." Ruka exclaimed, faking a scared face.
"Ruka, don't scare us like that! I already used being in the academy." Yuu cried. The other three laughed at him.
"But Ruka, what you've done was impressive. Too confident." Mochu praised. Ruka sighed and let out a short laugh. He remembered a conversation that pushed him to do this…
…
Flashback…
It was time to go home. Ruka was arranging his things when someone familiar approached me. He raised his head and met the gaze of this stoic raven haired girl.
"Nogi." She called.
"Imai-san."
"I don't like what your best friend is doing." She pointed out. Ruka let out a deep sigh. They felt the same.
"I don't know what's wrong with Natsume too. He won't tell us anything." Ruka replied. She rolled her eyes.
"Do something Nogi, or else," she paused and took out something from her pocket. "…this…" she pointed out a picture and Ruka's eyes widen. "…will be posted everywhere all around the world."
It was a picture of him …uhm… naked! How did in the world did she get that?
'This could not be happening to me!' Ruka thought in horror.
He stuttered, knowing that she was serious. "I-Imai! Give me that picture! Why did you have a picture of me…l-l-like that!"
"I have a lot of ways, Nogi. Have you heard of Photoshop? Do something or I'll do what I've said." She said threateningly. He shivered. If his parents see that picture, even if it was edited, they will disown him for sure.
"Fine I'll do what I can! But you'll give me that picture as return!"
"Deal. I'll give you all the copies I made." Hotaru replied with a victorious grin on her face.
'God, Imai-san was so scary!'
...
Ruka faked a laugh.
'I hope that's enough already.' Ruka thought in relief.
He looked back to his friend with a smile. "That's the only way we can help him. Anyway, let's go in and eat something, it's cold here…"
…
At the Yukihira Mansion…
Youichi's POV
I watched my sister as she sleeps. Oh, how I missed her. After she left us at England, I was always looking forward to be with her again.
"Natsume…"
My eyes widen, was I hallucinating or my sister just said the name of that annoying monster?
"Natsume, please, don't leave…"
This couldn't be true… I felt an unbearable pain in my chest as I watched my sister's uneasiness in her sleep while having a nightmare about that monster.
I shook her to wake her up. I saw her slowly opened her eyes. There were tears forming in the side of her eyes.
"Nee-chan? You're crying?"
She sat up and wiped the tears in her eyes. She indeed was crying. She tried to flash a smile on me but it seemed like she couldn't.
"No, it's nothing. You should sleep now, You-chan. Want to sleep besides me?"
She. Was. Lying.
But after I heard her asked me if I wanted to sleep with her, my face heated up. We've doing that when we're kids, but it seemed like I was really growing up.
I nodded shyly. She moved a little to give space for me. I lied beside her and then looked at her.
"Nee-chan, you're saying the name 'Natsume' in your sleep, having a nightmare about that monster?" I asked, hoping for an honest answer.
"Oh, I did?" She said, her voice tried to be cheerful. "I don't know why I dreamt about that guy but… Seeing him going away from me, even in a dream, I felt hurt."
I was shocked at my sister's answer. I saw her face sadden. It was the first time I saw her sad like this. She was always smiling back then. I felt terrible. Then realization hit me like lightning.
"Nee-chan, you like him?" I asked again. I hope she will say no. I didn't know what to feel if she says yes.
"I don't really know, You-chan. I treated him as a friend, but the current turn of events was really hurting me." She flashed a sad smile. "I guess I do like him, I enjoy being with him."
I curled up like a ball in the bed. My sister that I love so much liked another guy. It hurt like hell. I want my sister only for me.
"You-chan?" I heard her voice, she was worried. I could tell it.
She hugged me. I felt warm. It felt so good.
"You want to hear one of the reasons why I like him, You-chan?" No. I don't want to hear it.
"It is because…" Stop. I don't want to know.
"… he resembles you a lot. He was cold sometimes but he could be nice in his own way. He was silent but inside he was caring. He didn't like to show his emotion to others. He's just like you."
I turned around, staring unbelievingly at my sister. I felt…touched. I could feel warm tears building up, threatening to fall anytime.
"I was happy to meet someone who was like you! It's because, I love You-chan very much."
I hugged my sister, the tears I prevent to fall finally fell down. What a fool I was.
"I'm sorry, Mikan-nee-chan…" I apologized.
"No need to apologize, you did nothing wrong." She replied and patted my head.
If you only knew…
She tightened the hug. I felt sorry for what I've done. After all, I hurt my sister, too. I was so stupid for not realizing it. I must do something to ease this guilt I felt inside my heart. After a while, feeling much better, I stared seriously at my sister…
"Me and that monster are not alike. No one can surpass my love for you." I said, trying to cheer her up. She finally showed me a true smile.
"I know that. Thank you You-chan, I feel better now. C'mon, let's sleep." I closed my eyes, feeling the warmth of my sister's hug. Suddenly, I remembered something that my father told me when I was still a kid.
Youichi, no one owns anyone. Anyone has a choice to choose who they want to be with, forever. No matter how much you want to have a person for your own happiness, you can't control what they feel. You can still show them your love even if they found the one for them. You can rest assured, you'll not going to lose them.
Otou-san, now I know what you meant with those words.
My eyes feel heavy and zZz…
…
Next day… Koizumi's Residence…
"Daaaddyyyy!" Luna called sweetly. She went in front of his dad on the living room and flashed a saccharine smile.
"Did that Sakura got expelled on the academy already?" His father who was currently drinking his coffee spitted out the coffee to Luna's uniform.
Luna growled in disgust. "Yuck! Daddy! Why did you do that? You're so gross!" Mr. Koizumi glared at his daughter.
"Don't ever demand me to ask the headmaster to expel that girl again!" He yelled angrily.
"Why?" Luna asked in confusion. She totally forgot her stained clothes.
"I don't want to die because of heart attack!" His father explained which made Luna to be more puzzled.
"What do you mean? Daddy!" She whined.
"Luna, dear, look. Don't ever mess with that girl again. I'm warning you."
"Daddy!" Luna wailed. "Are you on her side now? Did she do anything to you? Did she seduce you? Oh my god, what a slut."
Mr. Koizumi stood up and slapped his hands on the table.
"If you don't want to be expelled on that Academy, listen to me. If you can't control your behavior, then I'll send you to another school." He threatened. Luna looked at his brother with disbelief.
"Dad! I want to be with my Natsume! Why are you so afraid of that bitch? It's not like she can expel me. She's just a useless council president." Luna pointed out which made Mr. Koizumi sigh.
"She can expel you anytime she wanted." Luna's father said, massaging his head. He remembered what the headmaster showed to him.
It was Mikan's profile as a legitimate heir of the Yukihira's and the papers that scared him the most – a contract saying that the Yukihira's are pulling out their shares in his company. Just the sign of Yukihira Izumi was needed in that contract and – poof! Their company would be bankrupt if that ever happened. He couldn't possibly afford that to happen.
"Daddy! How can that poor girl expel me? She's just a waitress in a restaurant!" Luna whined.
"STOP WHINING! Just follow what I am saying." Mr. Koizumi ordered.
"Tell me why!" Luna retorted.
"This is for our own good, Luna. Do as I say. You don't know who you are messing with."
"So what? ! I don't care whoever she is! All I want is my Natsume!" Luna stated. She was not paying too much attention because she was busy examining her fingernails.
"Then tell that guy to transfer school together with you. Damn Luna, I don't want to lose my business because of you." He said, controlling his anger.
"Hmp. Fine." Luna replied and walked out.
"So hard to have a daughter like this." Mr. Koizumi muttered to his self.
…
It was already 2 hours since the class started at Alice Academy. She didn't appear. She was absent.
Making a certain someone to worry so much.
"Why is she absent? I want to make up all things with her today." Natsume thought.
Hotaru, on the other hand, was worried too. The baka didn't go home go to her house last night.
"Natsume-kuuun! ! !" a dangerous flirty voice sang. Natsume's level of irritation rose up again.
He shot a deadly glare to the girl. "Damn, I said I stop bugging me."
"My dad wants us to transfer to another school! Please come with me." Luna said, ignoring Natsume's statement.
"No. I don't want to be with you."
"You're my fiancé! You shouldn't talk to me like that! Why did you change? You were good to me few days ago!"
"Because I hate you so much. You're not my fiancée anymore. The engagement is now canceled." Natsume said, shooing her away.
Luna was hurt. She thought she could finally have Natsume after that day. But suddenly he acted so cold to her again. But being Luna, she ignored it all.
"No, you don't. I'll make sure you will come with me! Just a little chat with your father and it's settled."
"Damn it! Stop using my father!" Natsume stood up and clutched Luna's collar. The class gasped in horror because of Natsume's action. His eyes were fuming with anger. Luna stared at him with fear. He was clutching her collar so hard and it was choking her.
"Natsume!" Ruka immediately stood up and stopped Natsume before he suffocates Luna for real. Yuu, Koko and Mochu immediately followed and held the angry Natsume. Natsume released her.
"You bitch, you're getting on my nerves. Stop ruining my life and my family." Natsume threatened for the last time and sat back on his chair. Luna on the other hand, breathed heavily due to lack of oxygen a while ago.
"That's too rude of you, Natsume-kun." She started, panting. "But because of this, I'll make sure you'll be mine. I'll do that even if I need to use your father." Luna said and then laughed evilly. She immediately left the room before Natsume could grab her again.
"Natsume, calm down." Ruka said worriedly at Natsume. Natsume closed his eyes trying to calm himself down. He had a lot of problems and Luna was the biggest.
Hotaru, who was watching the scene, had an amused look in her face. She walked out the classroom and took her phone out.
Ring. Ring.
…
At the Yukihira's mansion…
The loud ring woke Mikan up from deep slumber.
She lazily picked up her phone and pressed the green button.
"Moshi, moshi?" Mikan said in sleepy tone.
"Baka, where are you?" Hotaru said on the other line.
Mikan realized something after hearing Hotaru's voice.
She looked at the clock in her side table. Her eyes widen.
"Damn! I overslept." She stumbled down the bed and slapped her temple in frustration.
"Oi, idiot." Mikan heard Hotaru's voice from the phone.
"Oh! I overslept! I think I can't go to school now."
"Baka, I'm asking where are you?"
"At our house. I'm sorry for not informing you." Mikan answered while rubbing her sleepy eyes.
"You make me worried. I thought you already commited suicide." Hotaru said with no emotion at all.
"Mou, I don't have a reason to do that." She complained. "I don't want to end my precious life yet!"
"Good. Too bad, you didn't make it to school." Hotaru added.
"Huh?"
"The Hyuuga bastard almost choked Koizumi to death. It was a great scene to watch." Hotaru said like it was a normal scene to watch. How could she calmly tell something like that?
"Maybe that's their way of showing their…" Mikan sighed, not wanting to continue. "…Love to each other." The pain in her heart came back again. This intolerable feeling, it made her feel weak.
"If that's the reason, then prepare a black dress for Koizumi's funeral." Hotaru said on the other line before hanging up.
Why did Natsume choke his fiancée? What a violent man.
…
Hotaru on the other hand, stared at her cellphone blankly.
"You're too slow, Mikan." Hotaru muttered and put her phone back to her pocket. She entered the classroom again and enjoyed watching Natsume's angry face.
…
Back to the Yukihira Mansion…around 10:30 am.
"You-chan! Why didn't you wake me up?" Mikan, who was currently eating her breakfast asked to his brother who was beside her, drinking a glass water.
"You're sleeping soundly and I don't want to disturb that." Youichi simply answered. She glanced boringly at his sister. "And I want revenge because you drool on my shirt."
"Hey! I don't drool!" Mikan retorted while munching her food.
"You do, I saw it." Youichi answered showing a victorious smile on his sister.
Mikan scowled. "Ok, you win. Uhm... You-chan, you want to have a date with your sister today?"
"Date?" Youichi blushed cutely. Mikan chuckled at his brother reaction.
"Yeah, just the two of us. You don't like?"
"Of course I like!" Youichi retorted. Mikan showed an amused smile.
"Then it's settled. Let's have fun and forget all of our problems, okay?" Youichi nodded, feeling the happiness flowing in his whole body.
But a thought entered his mind.
Did she… decide to forget him?
No. I don't want to ruin my sister's happiness anymore. And I can see that… *sigh* …that monster was her happiness (after me of course).
After our so-called date, I would bring everything back to normal.
I would make sure that Nee-chan will get her happiness back.
But I didn't feel sorry for what I've done before. That Natsume was so stupid anyway.
…
After class, same day…
Natsume decided to walk home. He was in deep thought about why Mikan was absent. He missed her so much.
Because he was in deep thought, he absentmindedly bumped into someone.
Natsume was about to throw curses but saw the one he bumped was an old man wearing baggy clothes and an old hat. He was falling miserably to stand up.
He forgot the curses and helped the old man to stand.
"Sir, daijobu?" Natsume asked politely. He didn't know why, but his sense told him to be polite. The man was old after all.
"I'm fine, young man. Thank you for helping me." The old man said in gratitude. His voice was hoarse and matured.
"Want me to assist you home? I have nothing to do anyway." Natsume offered.
The old man showed a meaningful smile.
"That's so kind of you, young man. But, my home just few blocks away. No need to assist me. Thank you again." Then the old man walked slowly on the sidewalks again.
Natsume watched the old man. He felt a different aura around him.
"Who was that?..." He asked to his self. He shook his head. "Tch. Nevermind." He mumbled and then continued thinking about his unfinished business a while ago.
While the old man was walking with a wide grin on his face.
"Not bad at all." The old man said to his self and laughed like a mad person. A while ago his voice was hoarse, but now it was not. Also a while ago, he was walking like a snail, but now, he was walking like an energetic teenager.
