Hello and welcome to this new piece!

This is actually just an experiment! I planned to write another chapter, but I got the idea for this one while thinking about how to continue my Jon has needs series.

This story is set in an alternate dimension. The Clark appearing in this Prologue is the same Clark from 'The shame of El' and the one who visited Lois and Clark in 'All he wanted!'. Some characters like Dr. Tess Mercer from 'The Shame of El' are taken over and appear again.

I hope you enjoy!

This was the right moment, Clark thought when he landed in front of the house and held the little boy closely to his chest one final time.

"Here we are Jonathan! This is your new home!" he whispered to not to wake up the newborn.

He was just a day old. Screaming and crying the whole time. But as soon as Clark departed with him, the little toddler was absolutely quiet. Enjoying the flight and falling asleep after only a couple of seconds. Without doubt, the boy loves to fly. A trait that hopefully not carries on for his whole life. His own Jonathan used to love to fly, too. But he realized that too late. His Jonathan never got a flight. This one, too…

Was it wrong? Was it a crime? Was it absolutely awful? Yes, yes and yes! It was… But it was nothing compared to what this boy must endure in the next 16 years until the day he… he couldn't even think about it! It was just too painful to think about it.

It was the best for him. After what happened to his own Jonathan, he swore to himself to never ever let it happen to another Jonathan again. And when he saw the horrific events on this Earth that led to the boy's terrible demise in almost 16 years he couldn't allow it to happen again.

His own Jonathan tried to kill himself twice before his plan to flee from the island of Krypton was ruined by a plane-crash and the kidnapping of his comatose body. And even if his Jonathan was resurrected and now living in the body of his own clone with the powers he inherited but was never able to activate, the rift between them was incomparable. His family was not to be the same ever again.

Over the years, Clark observed the multiverse. Keeping sure that other Jonathans were safe. He saw other Jonathans suffering under their powerlessness, too. He saw other Jonathans being as powered as their Jordans. He saw other Jonathans who were the only child. Several weeks ago, he traveled to another world to punish his doppelganger for almost breaking their Jonathan's arm. And on this Earth…

This Earth was probably the worst he ever saw… He saw a happy, supportive, and kind Jonathan being destroyed more and more by his doppelganger and Lois' doppelganger, who cared more about their own things and about Jordan's powers. He saw Jonathan feeling more and more left out and hurt. In this world, the move to Smallville was the best for Jordan, but the absolute worst for Jonathan. With the unfairness, the X-K seemed to be a logical result of it. It was for his own Jonathan the same. But like on his own Earth it destroyed everything here, too…

Not only his parents start to treat him like shit, also the town start to perform a literal witch-hunt to him. His doppelganger in this world, only saw bad things in him. Totally out of love, even if it was his own fault. It was only Clark Kent's and Lois Lane's fault that their son took the X-K in the first place. The judge and multiple experts confirmed it! And they let it happen that the town abuses Jonathan mentally and physically so terribly, that Jordan had to reveal his powers to safe him from being killed…

But then it got even worse for Jonathan. Locked up in a lab, being experimented on, branded as a genetically-failure as he was 'supposedly powerless'. And the Lois and Clark of this world were more concerned about Jordan. And not even Jordan, who saved Jonathan from the lab was able to safe him. The third suicide attempt was successful in this world! And the world that used to make fun of Jonathan was left behind in shock.

When Clark came to this world, he thought about using golden Kryptonite to destroy Jordan's powers before they even emerge. But it would have killed him. His own Jordan spend two weeks in coma after he destroyed his powers. And the Jordan of this world, who destroyed them voluntarily in solidarity to his brother, even a full month! A baby wouldn't survive it.

He also thought about just pretending to come from the future and warn them about Tal-Rho or Ally or from the X-K. They could prevent that everything happens in the first place? But Jonathan was still with them and needs to deal with the powers of his brother. Clark couldn't stand the Jordan of this world! The powers made him egoistic. He doesn't deserve them!

So, it was the best to switch the babies: He takes baby Jonathan and replaces him with a dead born baby from another Earth. Lois and Clark think now that Jonathan died during birth and Jonathan gets the chance for the normal human life he deserved. Far away from pain and the rejection. With parents who truly care for him and who will be truly proud on him. And he already found the perfect couple…

She used to be the therapist of his own Jonathan on his Earth. And on this Earth, she was the one helping Jonathan to survive the lab and helping to reveal the terrible things he had to endure. The DOD of this Earth hired her, to break him. Instead she helped him and revealed all the bad things he had to endure. On every Earth he saw, she was a better mother to Jonathan. And on this Earth, she is even married. To a smart and kind science-professor. Living in a spacious house with garden in this suburb of Boston. Far away from Metropolis and far away from Superman and his family.

They are a happily married, financially well situated, couple that only misses one thing: A child! She is infertile! In fifteen years, she will offer to take in Jonathan, but was not allowed due to his 'alien-nature'. Now she gets him earlier. And Clark was convinced that she will be able to convince her husband to keep him.

Clark checked the house with his Supervision. It was late evening and the couple just returned from the theatre and enjoyed a glass of wine in the dining-room before going to bed. The housemaid was in her room and read a book. With a jammer, Clark deactivated the security-cameras near the front door and approached the house.

Clark then placed the basket with his doppelganger's son on the doormat and looked on the sleeping little baby one more time. Tears rand down his face.

"Jonathan, your life was terrible. My doppelganger was an as bad father as I was to my Jonathan. If not even worse. Here you will have a much better life! I checked them, and they are wonderful people. You will have a great life here! You will have a great future! A future full of luck, success and happiness..."

More tears ran down Clark's face as he spoke…

He thought about taking him with him. But at first, he wouldn't be able to care for him. His marriage was only exciting on the paper, he was living in a ice cave in the arctic and most of all, he wouldn't be able to explain the sudden appearance of a baby.

His own Lois was getting better but was still mentally unstable and Jordan would make a scene. As much as he wanted, he couldn't take him. But for that he found a perfect replacement-family.

He also thought about other options. Maybe this is too drastic? The Lois and Clark of this world seemed to deeply regret everything. He saw how devastated the were during the trial and later in prison. But the world's faith in Superman was destroyed, as well as everyone's reputation. Smallville was humiliated and the shame of the country. All the murders, bullies and X-K takes were punished. But nothing was able to bring back Jonathan…

This was the right decision. Jonathan will be better with these people. Smallville will doom itself by its own stupidity and laziness.

"Farewell, Jonathan Samuel Kent!" Clark whispered, giving the baby one final kiss before he placed a letter on the blanket and then rang the doorbell before speeding out of sight and hid on a safe spot.

With his supervision and his superhearing Clark checked what happened in the house.

"Who could that be? At this time?" the woman asked.

"Who knows?! I check the security cameras." Her husband respond while the woman walked towards the door.

Clark watched from his spot how the totally stunned couple found the little boy in front of their door. The woman screamed in shock, waking up baby Jonathan, who start to cry immediately.

"A baby!"

"Where is he coming from?!"

"Oh, he is so adorable!"

"We have to call the police!"

"Oh, look at him… how old do you think he is?"

"A day or two, I would guess! Look there is a letter…"

"Let's take him inside!"

Clark watched the couple taking his son's doppelganger inside, where the also totally stunned housemaid rushed into the kitchen to get milk for the baby. The man opened Clark's letter and start to read it.

"Dear Doctor and Professor… , this little boy is a very special one. He has no future where he comes from. But a bright one when he will be with you. Take good care of little Jonathan and he will fill your life with sunshine and happiness."

Clark bit on his lip. Why he wrote Jonathan into the letter? Why not another Name? What if someone finds a connection?

"Jonathan?! What a nice name?" the woman raved.

"I like it, too. My grandfather was named Jonathan, too." The man said with a bright smile. "You have a nice name young boy."

Okay, Clark thought. Jonathan would be okay in that case.

"What do you think where he comes from?"

"We have to call the police, honey!"

"Look at him! We can't leave him alone! Do you want that he ends up in an Orphanage?"

"No! But we can't just keep him like a found item! We should at least call an doctor…"

They discussed for hours. Baby Jonathan fell asleep again as soon as his new mom hold him. And his new daddy's heart melt as soon as he used his tiny hand to grab the man's index-finger…

They called the police of course. And a befriended doctor who lives just a few houses away. Everything had to go it's official way… but in the end, Jonathan Samuel Kent became Jonathan Lucas…!

Knowing that he saved a live, Clark returned to his Earth to prepare for his next mission. He spotted an awful barn-scene on another Earth and had to go there to punish his doppelganger and the Jordan there…

Clark knew that his auction here changed the timeline of this world rapidly. For Jonathan, but also for the Kents in general and for everyone who knew them and for everyone being directly or indirectly connected to them.

A butterfly effect running across the world that will have a lot of affect on everyone. Positively but also negatively…

So far I don't know if I really continue this piece. I have an idea for another good one. It depends on the response.

I hope you like it. Reviews and constructive critics are always appreciated.
