Boys: Rodney, Shawn, Lightning, Brick, Noah, Harold, Mike, Duncan

Girls: Lindsay, Jo, Beth, Dawn, Amy, Heather, Sky, Courtney

"Last season on Total Drama Island," Chris's voice said over a long distance shot of the island. "Brick and Sky battled it out for one hundred thousand dollars," a clip of the two inching across the shark infested gorge was shown. "In the end, Sky, a super small Olympian," the athlete's run across the finish was shown, then her holding the giant check at the last bonfire, "won the super size check. She was allowed to keep her prize and her and her friends were even offered a chance at one million big ones!" A shot of the case was shown.

"With a million bucks stuffed into a briefcase, our twenty-two campers went off on 'The Race for the Case!" The case was shown floating down a river. "Until the case was eaten by an alligator," the gator was shown eating the case in front of Ella, Sadie, and Ezekiel, "then a shark." The case's final fate was shown, as well as Harold and Heather in the water. Chris laughed and added, "I bet you they didn't see that one coming."

"Now the sixteen who were the closest to winning have been given the chance to win another million dollars." A clip of Duncan running with the case, only to trip and let it fly from his hands was shown. "Actually, it's the same money."

The recap ended and the camera showed Chris outside in front of a trailer. There was a forest behind him and several fake buildings. A couple of stage lights were littered throughout the shot. "They've been instructed to an old film lot," the scene flashed to him in front of several studio warehouses and a tall fake mountain in the distance, "for a whole new set of challenges," another flash to another part of the film lot, "for a whole new set of challenges."

"Forty-two days," a stopwatch with spinning hands, a day calendar with a '42', and another calendar moved across a dark yellow background with alternating day and moons on it, "fifteen castmates," a film strip took the middle of the screen and showed each of the castmates: Amy, Beth, Brick, Courtney, Dawn, Duncan, Harold, Heather, Jo, Lightning, Lindsay, Mike, Noah, Rodney, Shawn, and Sky, before ending on a wooden chest full of gold and jewels, "one heck of a lotta cash!"

The film strip and background melted away and the scene returned to the host. "Welcome to Total! Drama! Action!"

\[A stage light pops up in front of some fake buildings and turns on; a camera with a rat on top of it comes out of a manhole; another camera comes out of the hollow of a tree, along with some garbage and a very confused raccoon. A pair of hands claps a film slate in front of the camera, and the camera flies through the film lot; Chris drives a golf cart with Chef in the passenger side in the camera's path. The host grins and waves and the cook crosses his arms and scowls as the lyrics start\]

Dear Mom and Dad I'm doing fine

\[The camera passes through a tree and files down a road between the studio warehouses, dodging a farm backdrop and a sunset backdrop before flying through a costume rack\]

You guys are on my mind

\[The camera flies up the fake mountain and peaks over the edge to see a pool of water, then jumps in\]

You asked me what I wanted to be

\[As the camera lands in the pool, bubbles fill the screen and then dissipate to show Noah in his swimsuit swimming away from a large shark behind him.\]

And I think the answer is plain to see

\[The camera pans up to show Amy on a surfboard hooked up to some rigging. She tries to dodge seagulls that are shooting past her like bullets, only to take one to the face and be knocked in the water.\]

I wanna be... famous

\[The camera quickly pans to the left, showing Duncan manning what can only be described as a seagull cannon with a sadistic grin on his face. The camera pans back to show Dawn looking at the punk with a frown before facepalming. It flies between them, then pauses in front of a large door as Harold runs across it trying to catch a ball he dropped. The door opens and the camera flies into a bright light.\]

I wanna live close to the sun

\[The light fades into a shot of the beach set where Beth sits on a pool chair. She is flanked with sharks in their own chairs. The camera zooms in on Beth as she gives a huge smile.\]

Well pack your bags 'cause I've already won

\[The camera pans to the right and ends up on Lightning in the confessional making poses for the cameras. He is then sprayed by a can of hairspray, causing him to cough.\]

Everything to prove, nothing in my way

I'll get there one day

\[The camera quick pans to the right again to show Heather and Shawn on rock pillars against a dark backdrop. The two have dueling sticks, Heather's is blue and Shawn's is orange. Shawn hits Heather a few times and she responds with a jab to his face, his beanie falls off and the camera quick pans down to show the beanie falling onto a pot.\]

'Cause I wanna be... famous

\[Chef looks at the beanie in his pot and shrugs, then turns around, scowls, and pours the soup into a bowl in the middle of his kitchen. Rodney cranes his head to take a look. He grabs the beanie that fell into the pot, wrings it out, and puts it on his head with a smile. The camera pans out to show Lindsay watching the scene on one of two monitors in another room with a confused look. She presses a button and is surprised when an explosion rocks the other screen.\]

(Na nananana nanananana nananananana)

\[The camera cuts to the explosion as it fades away revealing Jo exercising by punching a duffel bag... only to scream and run away to the right when a bear comes and roars at her. The camera follows her as she runs past the Lame-o-sine then stops at the vehicle.\]

I wanna be! I wanna be! I wanna be famous (Na nananana nanananana nananananana)

I wanna be! I wanna be! I wanna be famous (Na nananana nanananana nananananana)

\[The camera zooms in on the limousine's window, which rolls down to show Mike and Sky smiling at each other. Sky opens the door and the camera flies past a series of flashes as if it were going down the red carpet and stops at Chris in a blue tux on the amphitheatre. The host grins and opens an envelope, then looks over at a scowling dress-wearing Chef as he holds a tray of Guilded Chris's. Chris purses his lips and gives a look to the camera. The camera zooms out to show the scene was being watched on a monitor, then pans down to Brick and Courtney smiling at each other before looking at the camera.

The camera zooms out as the last few whistling notes of the song play, showing that the two are sitting on a set of tiered couches on the left side of what looked like the set of a talk show, and that all twenty-two of the original Total Drama contestants are present and looking at the camera – Cody, Duncan, Harold, Dawn, Mike, and Sky next to them; Rodney, Lightning, Lindsay, and Owen on the row above; Amy, Ella, Noah, Ezekiel, and Eva on the second row of the tiered couches on the opposite side of the stage; Sadie, Jo, Shawn, Beth, and Heather on the row below them. And on a couch in the very middle, directly below the large monitor that still showed Chris and Chef, sat Brick and Courtney. The camera zoomed out, and the central television screen flickered before the 'Total Drama Action' logo appeared over static.\]

The season opened up to a shot of a steamy street grate before zooming out to a decrepit guard station under a beautiful and broken sign. A dirty and run-down bus drove onto the scene and squealed to a halt. The back fender fell off and the camera focused on the doors as they opened to reveal Duncan.

"Man I miss the smell of the city," Duncan said after taking a big sniff. He walked off and two more people walked out: Dawn and Harold.

Heather and Jo tried to step off the bus at the same time.

"Step off!" Heather growled.

"You step off!" Jo shot back. The two fought to get off the bus first, flew from the bus, and Jo slammed into Harold, who in turn was slammed into Dawn.

"Sorry, Dawn," Harold said.

"No need to apologize, Harold," Dawn said.

The camera was soon overtaken with smoke as the bus drove off. The smoke cleared and showed the sixteen teens as they sat at the entrance: Amy, Rodney, Lightning, Sky, Noah, Brick, Courtney, Lindsay, Beth, Shawn, Mike, Duncan, Dawn, Harold, Heather, and Jo; the latter five already shown.

"Where is everybody?" Lightning asked out loud.

"Maybe we got off at the wrong stop?" Brick suggested.

"That broken down bus only had one stop," Dawn said.

"I'm not hanging around here," Heather told the others.

"That would be a relief for all of us?" Noah smirked.

The shot focused on Beth. "Face it. The money's the reason we all put up with Chris." She exclaimed jovially, showing off her teeth without braces.

"Beth!" Mike spoke up, "you got your braces off! Nice!"

"You are still attractive despite the braces!" Sky complimented, causing the wannabe to smile.

"You're looking much better already," Amy smiled.

"Yeah," Harold added, "you look really great!"

"You are totally on your way to looking the part of my second BFF," Lindsay gleamed. "That's my best French friend. Amy's the first one. I am so moving to France when I win."

"My mom said," Beth told them excitedly, "my world would totally open up when I got my braces off! She was right! I'm going to France!" She began to jump up and down and squeal with joy alongside Lindsay, only stopping when she and the others heard a pair of honks and an approaching engine.

The camera zoomed out to show Chris arriving behind the wheel of a covered white tram with a single long passenger carriage behind the driver's cart.

"Finally you're here," Shawn sighed as the host came to a stop in front of the entrance.

"Hop on, everyone!" he called out as they grabbed their luggage and headed towards the passenger carriage. "Come on, people," he added jovially, "sheesh! We haven't got all day, this cart's rented by the hour!"

\\

The scene skipped ahead to the fifteen teens being driven through the film lot by Chris. "Welcome," he said, "to the set of Total Drama Action. This season's hottest reality show will be shot here," he gestured to the studio warehouses behind him, "at an abandoned film lot!"

"Does this mean we're gonna be in the movies?" Lindsay asked excitedly.

"No," Chris answered as he looked at the blonde in the rear view mirror. "You're gonna be on TV. And don't interrupt me," he added as he looked directly at her. "Ev-er."

"Sorry," Lindsay apologized.

They started driving through an old west set and the host continued. "You'll be spending the next eight weeks here, competing against each other in challenges and for rewards. All for the chance to win some monster cash."

"Yeah, baby! That cash is mine!" Lightning commented. Chris glared at him and shushed, and he complied.

"Like last season," Chris continued, "one team will win, and the other will watch one of their own make their way down the dreaded Walk of Shame to the Lame-ousine." He pressed a button and the cart's windows rolled up. He drove past a slightly run down limousine with bull horns on the hood and blowing large clouds of exhaust. The castmates coughed as they were driven through the clouds.

"Was that really the best you could do?" Mike asked between coughs.

"Yes," Chris said simply. "Now since we don't have the outhouse to dump your deepest darkest secrets in," they drove past the same trailer from the recap, "you'll dish the dirt in our new make-up confessional."

Confessional: Lindsay

"Oh my gosh," Lindsay gushed in the confessional. The confessional was set up in a two-way mirror in front of a desk with various tools, the background had a costume shelf and several hats and helmets on a shelf. "A whole trailer full of makeup?!" Someone offered her lipstick, to which she refused. "Oh, sorry, I don't use that brand."

Confessional Ends

The static faded to the cast driving past a brown tent. "To your left," Chris continued, "is the craft services tent. Catered by Chef." A clatter from inside caught his attention, and the camera cut to to opening as Chef chased a raccoon out of it while holding a cleaver.

"Whoa!" Lindsay said.

"If you survive Chef," Chris continued. "You'll have to make it through our dramatic award ceremony," he drove past a fancy looking amphitheater flanked by two golden statues of the host on stone pedestals and surrounded by wooden bleachers, "where all but one loser will receive," the camera focused on one of the gleaming statues, "The Gilded Chris Award."

Confessional: Noah

"The Gilded Chris?" Noah asked the confessional. "What a narcissistic schmuck."

Confessional Ends

"Are we done now," Shawn grew impatient.

"I have an eject button, and I'll use it," Chris warned.

"No no. Go on," Shawn groaned.

The camera showed them driving by a moon set. "Cool," Harold gasped. "Is this a dream?"

"No Harold it is not," Chris answered. "But you may soon wish it was." They drove out of the moon set on onto an ordinary looking street. "a few months ago, this lot was home to a big budget monster movie. That is, until the star experienced some," he paused to think of a word, "difficulties?"

"What happened?" Amy commented. "Did she have a mental breakdown?"

"Actually, the star wasn't a her," Chris said. "It was an animatronic monster!" The camera cut to three different fake buildings, all with large bite marks.

"What happened to it?" Mike asked nervously.

Confessional: Mike

"Okay," Mike said, "I shouldn't have asked that."

Confessional Ends

A loud roar shook the camera, and then it cut to Duncan covering his ears and scoffing. "Come on dudes," he said, "he's yanking our chains."

Chris smirked as the camera shook with a mechanical whir and thud several times. The scene showed a large green and orange tail flick through the air and knock down a radio tower. The host stepped on the brake, Courtney said, "Whoa," Shawn said, "Man," and Rodney just screamed as the shot was overtaken by dust.

The dust cleared and the camera switched to a front look as the cast members all leaned out to look at the downed tower. "Since we're on a film lot," Chris said, the camera returned to the side view as he finished, "this season's challenges will be based on movie genres. Today's genre?" The monster roared. "The Monster Movie!" He laughed a moment and said, "duh."

The monster stomped past the camera and the castmates gasped. The camera cut to Rodney as he gasped a couple of times before passing out.

"And we're down by one," the host chuckled. "The challenge is to get from here to the cast trailers while our state-of-the-art monster prevents your every move. Chef has kindly offered to control the beast." The camera quick-panned to Chef in a motion capture suit stomping around and back to the host. "Aaaaaaand Action!" The cast sat there with blank expressions. "That means go."

And with that, the cast all tried to leave at the same time. Shawn picked up Heather and threw her out of the cart. He in turn was karate chopped between the neck and shoulder by Harold and collapsed. The dweeb was then picked up and tossed out by Noah.

The dweeb flew past Chris and the host winced as he was heard landing painfully. "This," he commented, "is gonna be a long season."

\\

The camera flashed to a long distance shot of the film lot before flashing again to a beach set. The cast, except for Rodney, ran past screaming with the monster not far behind, even leaving behind a giant footprint.

"That monster would be cool if it wasn't trying to kill us," Noah shouted.

\\

The camera cut back to the start of the challenge with Rodney waking up. "That monster was really scary. I should catch up with everybody else if there's a challenge going on."

The country boy got up and ran to the right.

\\

The scene cut back to Shawn. He scanned the area and his eyes went wide. "Jo, move out of the way!"

The camera cut a bit ahead to the take-no-prisoners machine. "Nobody tells me what to do!" Jo called out just as the monster wounded up grabbing her.

The camera cut to a bounce house, and the monster unceremoniously dumping Jo inside. "That's what he was warning me about," she bounced a couple of times with a scowl on her face.

Confessional: Shawn

"I don't think Chef will look for me in here," Shawn told the confessional. "This might be a surprise to you, but I think Jo's kind of hot. She was bad news last season, but I know she has a heart deep down. Really deep down."

Confessional Ends

The static cut back to the beach set and two surfboards as Sky and Mike ran past. The camera followed the two running teens until they skidded to a stop.

"How are we supposed to find the actor's trailers?" Sky asked.

"I don't know, but we should continue running before the monster gets us," Mike reminded her before they left.

The shot cut back to the surfboards as Harold and Dawn popped out of there.

"Why did you think this was a good idea?" Dawn asked.

"I thought maybe the monster wouldn't notice us here and skip us," Harold answered.

Rodney ran up to the two. "I don't think that would work. You'd still get caught either way."

Confessional: Dawn

"Rodney's aura has become orange after I taught him how to handle being around women," Dawn drank from a cup. "I would say more, but I promised not to reveal any secrets out in the open. Just know that he's grown from last season."

Confessional Ends

The static cut to a nondescript street side, then panned down to Duncan, Mike, and Sky. "This challenge isn't looking bad," Sky commented. "There's no explosions, burning buildings, or bears."

"I don't think it's in their budget," Mike teased jokingly.

Their attention was caught by an explosion. They looked to see a wooden building burn up and the camera zoomed in on a singed and angry bear.

The three castmates promptly ran away from the scene.

The camera cut to Chef and Chris watching the challenge on a group of monitors. "I thought the bear was tranquilized and returned to its handler?" Chris said.

"Had one day left on its contract," Chef explained.

"Nice!" Chris relished.

\\

The footage returned to Dawn and Harold escaping the beach until the monster grabbed them and began carrying them to the bounce house.

"This is game over for us!" Harold looked beaten.

"At least we'll be together," Dawn told him, "and we had to be taken sometime"

The monster dropped them. "I love you!" Harold declared.

"I feel the same way!" Dawn replied back to her boyfriend before they bounced inside the house and landed with Jo inside.

\\

The camera cut to Courtney running through the beach set. She stopped when she noticed Brick hiding in an umbrella. "Come with me," she said as she opened the umbrella and pulled him out from under it. "I know you can run; we've got a challenge to win." They started running.

"I'm a fair runner," Brick told her, "but I was hiding under that umbrella because I was taking cover and making sure I wasn't caught."

The monster roared and they were both knocked off screen. The camera cut to two holes in the sand, each shaped like them, and the monster grabbed at the holes and picked up the two teens.

"Be gentle," Courtney warned the monster. "You can't kill the contestants." The monster dumped her and Brick in the bounce house without a second thought.

\\

The scene flashed to Mike and Sky running through the beach set. The sounds of the monster walking were heard and they turned around and ran in the other direction. The camera cut back to Heather seeing them run past her and she smirked and continued to run until the monster grabbed her and pulled her up to his face.

"Put me down now!," Heather commanded. "I will not get eliminated on the first day!"

The camera cut to Chef and Chris in their tent. "That girl needs to get over herself," Chef grumbled.

Confessional: Heather

"I was cheated and sabotaged last season thanks to those idiots," Heather explained to the confessional, "but this season will be different. I have plans, and they won't be pretty."

Confessional Ends

The static cut to the queen bee falling through the air and landing in the bounce house. "He could've at least placed me into the house instead of just dropping me like that!" Heather complained.

"It's called living like normal people," Jo called her out. "Get used to it."

\\

The camera flashed to Amy running through the downtown street set. The monster roared and she held her pigtails to keep it from being taken by the wind and ran off-screen.

"You giant monster!" Lindsay yelled as she peeked out of a red bush. "Put my friend down now!" The monster grabbed her, then grabbed the volleyball girl.

"I'll miss you Lindsay!" Beth cried out to the blonde, who waved goodbye to her before she and Amy were dropped in the bounce house.

"This bounce house is a lifesaver!" Amy observed, "even if it is uncontrollable."

\\

Another flash took the scene back to the street set, and Beth, Mike, Rodney, and Sky ran through it. They stopped at an intersection and the monster closed in.

"Everyone follow me!" Shawn came into view.

Confessional: Mike

"Usually Shawn would think for himself," Mike confessed. "At least he's helping us this time."

Confessional Ends

The five ran into the building only to realize it was a facade. "Everything around here is fake?" Shawn asked bizarrely.

Confessional: Mike

Mike turned into Chester. "What kind of brain does that kid have anyway?" He turned back to Mike and he groaned.

Confessional Ends

The monster roared and picked up the five teens.

"I'm coming, Lindsay!" Beth gave her a notice before they got tossed in unceremoniously.

The camera cut to a fake car just next to where they were picked up and Lightning, Duncan, and Noah popping out from behind it.

"That was a close one," Noah told them.

"You can say that again," Duncan said.

"So where do we go?" Lightning asked. The monster tapped him on the shoulder and the camera cut to a front view of the monster as it stared down the three teens. It returned to the side view as the monster reached a hand out to grab at them.

(Commercial Break)

The episode returned to show Lightning closing his eyes and waiting to be grabbed... only for nothing to happen. He opened his eyes and the camera pulled back to show that he was alone. "That monster must've known I was too powerful to catch," he thought to himself. "Time for Lightning to find the cast trailers and be a hero." He ran out of the building and stopped to think. "Now where would I be if I was a trailer?"

A shadow fell over him and he looked up to see the monster. "I'm pretty sure I can outrun that," Lightning said confidently.

The camera cut to Chef. "How big is that boy's arrogance?" the cook said.

The shot cut back to Lightning, who decided to book it. The monster chased after him, and in a couple of seconds, managed to grab the athletic boy, but the arm started to function badly.

Confessional: Lightning

"If Usain Bolt's the fastest man alive, he'd probably be able to outrun that monster," Lightning confessed. "Maybe if I change my name to Bolt, I'll be as fast as Usain."

Confessional Ends

The camera cut back to Chef trying to pick up Lightning. "Come on. Come on." His suit short circuited, allowing him to free Lightning.

"Carrying too many people must've ruined your toy, because Lightning is victorious!" Lightning taunted.

"Not yet, Lightning my man," Chris said as he arrived on the scene. "You still have to find the trailers." Lightning started walking.

\\

The camera flashed to the outside of the bounce house, and the kidnapped campers woke up. Lightning finally trudged to the castle and fell over.

"How did it take you ten and a half hours to walk three city blocks, Dim?" Jo looked down on him.

"I've never been to a city before, so I don't understand how the lifestyle lives," Rodney said.

Lightning took out a needle and popped the bouncy house, causing all the air to let out and the house to deflate.

"How come no one thought of doing that last night?" Dawn pondered, causing a bit of an argument.

"So now what?" Courtney asked as she climbed out from under the house. The monster walked past again, stepping on the trailer to the right. Chris walked out of the other trailer.

"Whoa," Chris shook up. "Am I ever glad I chose to wait in this trailer," he signaled to the one he just left. "It looks like you all made it, guess I lose the bet. That was just a warm-up. Good news is, your next challenge is a reward." The castmates cheered.

"It will be the boys against the girls, with the winner getting the first pick of the trailers where you will be living for the next forty-two days. You will have your choice of Trailer A," he gestured to the one he exited earlier, "or Trailer... B." The camera showed the newly destroyed trailer. "Off to the craft services tent!"

Confessional: Jo

"We're going to win this part!" Jo overconfidently said. "I'm not sleeping inside a crushed trailer for an entire season."

Confessional Ends

The static cut to the outside of the craft services tent before cutting inside. The camera panned down a table with an impressive buffet. "This is amazing," Sky commented.

"This looks like something out of a commercial," Brick commented.

"Can I star?" Lindsay got excited by the thought of being in a commercial.

"If you must know," Chris told them with a broad grin, "this food is fake."

"It's too good to be true I guess," Amy said.

"It's just props made from foam core, silicone, sawdust, and wax," Chris explained as the camera panned over to Chef holding the supplies.

"Good thing we didn't eat it," Noah folded his arms.

"Your challenge," Chris explained as the focus snapped back to him, "is to find the key hidden somewhere in this buffet. Boys get one side of the table and girls get the other, whoever wins gets to pick their team's trailer."

The footage cut away to show the sixteen campers all lined up, the guys on the far side and the girls with their backs to the camera. "Aaaaanndd...," Chris said slowly, "Action!"

At his word, a wordless rock tune reminiscent of the song used for the original food-based challenge in the previous season began, and the table became a flurry of movement as fake food was grabbed and ripped apart. The camera panned across the faces of the guys from left to right, showing Noah tearing through a pie, Harold contemplating a pineapple, Duncan lifting a steak up to his eye, Rodney and Lightning looking through some sandwiches, Mike looking at the cheese cubes carefully, Brick grabbing the cup of gravy, and Shawn eagerly putting his hands in a large prop cake.

The perspective switched to the other side of the table, and the camera panned back to the right across the faces of the girls, also hard at work. Courtney dumped out a bowl of salad, Dawn pursed her lips and looked back and forth across the table, Heather pulled apart a pile of fake sticky buns, Amy held up a pitcher of ice water with an uncertain expression, Jo shoved her left arm up to the elbow into a fake roast turkey, Sky watched Lindsay touch a bowl of fake mashed potatoes, and Beth started scooping out a prop watermelon with her hand.

The camera cut to Dawn who appeared to have not yet touched the fake food. The mystic finally made a grab for a single dinner roll and calmly looked through it.

"I found it!" Dawn announced over a shot of the host and cook raising their eyebrows in surprise. The camera cut back to Dawn, who was holding the key above her head and receiving surprised looks from those around her.

"That'd be the key," Chris confirmed. "Congrats!"

Confessional: Dawn

"I just had to figure out which piece of the propped food had the most positive energy," Dawn explained with a smile.

Confessional: Lightning

"Creepy girl's got a gift," Lightning stated. "I don't know where she got her powers from, but I know it's not from magic."

Confessional: Brick

"I'm proud of Dawn for finding the key, but that means the men will have to deal for the crushed trailer," Brick glumed.

Confessional: Amy

"I already know that trailer will be miles better than the cabins back at camp," Amy bragged.

Confessionals End

"Since you win, you get first pick of the trailers." Chris told Dawn, making the girls cheer at the announcement.

\\

The scene cut to the castmates standing outside the trailers. "I chose," Dawn said, "the one that's properly standing." The girls cheered and the guys groaned. The monster stomped on the girl's trailer, stopping their celebrations.

Confessional: Duncan

"They do know they'll have to rebuild both of our trailers now," Duncan confessed.

Confessional Ends

The static cut to Chef hammering away at the girls' newly rebuilt trailer. Then panned down to Chris driving past the guys' rebuilt trailer on the golf cart. "Okay everyone," he said. "Get a good night's sleep because you've got a seriously early wake-up call. Call time is six A.M. Sleep quickly!"

\\

The camera flashed to inside the guys' trailer. They were all standing around and claiming their bunks. "I'll take the top," Harold said.

"I call the bottom," Brick told him and the two walked off.

"I'll be in the bottom bunk if that's okay with you, Noah," Mike talked to Noah.

"Sure thing," Noah went to their bunk.

"This is paradise," Duncan chilled on top of a bunk bed.

"I can sleep here all day," Lightning spoke below him.

"I normally sleep outside, but since it's the first day, I'll make an exception," Shawn set himself on the top bed.

"That means I'll be your bunk mate tonight," Rodney claimed a lower bunk.

\\

The camera flashed to the inside of the girls' trailer, who were also deciding their sleeping arrangements.

"I need to sleep on the east side so my head will be closer to the ocean," Heather said.

"We're in Toronto. We're nowhere near the ocean." Jo disproved her statement.

"We need to be on set by six AM and arguing won't help our predicament," Dawn reasoned.

"Are you worried we might cut into you being with your boyfriend?" Amy smiled.

"I don't care who I'm going to be sleeping with, as long as it's not anyone mean," Beth made clear to the girls.

"I say we draw straws to decide who's bunking with who," Courtney planned.

"We don't have any straws," Sky said.

"We can use makeup brushes instead!" Lindsay got the brushes out.

"That's actually a good plan," Courtney felt satisfied.

"Longest ones get the top bunks. Shortest ones, the bottom. Shortest of all gets to sleep with Heather," Beth set the rules as Heather growled.

\\

The girls all grabbed their straws to see who would sleep with whom.

"Yes! Top bunk!" Lindsay cheered happily.

"I got bottom! I call Lindsay!" Beth chose her bed.

"I call Beth right back!" Lindsay said as they went to their bunk.

"I have a top," Amy informed Sky.

"I have a bottom. We bunk together," Sky let Amy know.

"I'm at the bottom." Courtney told Dawn.

"I'll be on top of you." Dawn told Courtney.

"You mean, I got a bed? Over the girl who cheated me out?" Heather realized and laughed. "Sweet!"

"I would trade with anybody else in a heartbeat." Jo looked unhappy.

\\

The camera flashed again to outside the trailers. Chris popped up from behind the girls' trailer and shushed the camera. "They're sleeping," he whispered. Then he pulled out a megaphone and yelled into it, "THIS IS YOUR FIVE A.M. WAKE-UP CALL!" The girls were woken up with a scream and the host chuckled. "I'm only kidding. You can sleep," he pointed the megaphone at the guys' trailer and added, "for now." The guys sighed in relief. He sounded an air horn and smiled as a scream was heard in the trees behind him, then a thud.

"That's a wrap on day one," he told the camera. "How will Lightning fare with a muscle for a brain? What will tomorrow hold for Mike and Sky? Who knows what drama is in store for our cast? Well, I do. But I ain't tellin'. See you next time for another thrilling episode of Total. Drama. Action. McLean out."

The scene faded to black as he started laughing. The monster roared again and he yelled, "Can someone please put a wrap on that monster!"

(Bonus Clip)

"My plan to win this season?" Heather asked the confessional. "Focus purely on strategy and controlling the votes instead of treating my allies like slaves. Ella and Sadie turned on me because of that, but luckily, they're not here, so I can find new people to work with."

Boys: Rodney, Shawn, Lightning, Brick, Noah, Harold, Mike, Duncan

Girls: Lindsay, Jo, Beth, Dawn, Amy, Heather, Sky, Courtney
