Sensing someone entering his domain, Great Red awoke from his slumber.

No one dared to enter the Dimensional Gap, in fear of his power. He is the strongest being in existence and is dang proud of it. Demons, Angels, Dragons, and Fallen Angels alike all feared him. So the possibility of the intruder being one of them is zero. The only one who'd dare to enter this plane of existence is-

He growled before taking off.

Ophis.

He should've seen this coming.

That dragon was obsessed with getting...what gender was Ophis now? Female? Sure, let's go with that. That dragon was obsessed with getting her home back after he took it from her when she was out.

Is it justifiable anger? Maybe. Is he going to give her her home back? F*ck no. He likes it here. It got colors.

Upon spotting the intruder, Great Reed prepared to land. He increased his magic power for the inevitable battle. He was stronger than Ophis, but that doesn't mean he can come out unscathed.

Ophis took the form of a young girl. Black hair and black eyes, porcelain skin, and gothita lolita clothes he thinks it's called. She had the same expressionless face she always had. He sometimes wondered if she was even capable of emotion. Every time they've met, she's only ever expressed annoyance. He would sometimes see her frown, but that itself was rare.

He locked eyes with his longtime rival.

"Why have you come, Ophis?" He demanded in a toneless than friendly. A rhetorical question, he already knew what she wanted. "The Dimensional Gap is mine now. You are far too weak to do anything about it." He was just trying to goad her into making the first move. But seeing as she didn't react, he needed to go further. "I thought you were going to bring armies? What happened? Did they all flee at the thought of facing me?" He taunted. Again, she stared at him with no emotion. It was really starting to tick him off.

He slammed his right paw into the ground. "Don't you get it!? The Dimensional Gap is mine forever! And there is no power in the world that would ever give you the advantage you need to get it back!"

Once finishing his rant, he spread his wings and began charging power. If Ophis wasn't going to make the first move, he will. Ophis is the only one he's willing to call a rival. Her power is just that great. As he stared into her emotionless black eyes, he recounted the times Ophis would fight him. He doesn't know how much this place is worth to Ophis, but if she's willing to fight to the death for it he will be severely injured. That's just how strong Ophis is. If she trained like he thinks she has, then this fight would take a long time to finish. There was nothing Ophis cared for more than the silence of the place she was born in. Ophis stared at him for a few moments. She spoke for the first time since her arrival.

"Ok."

Great Red prepared himself. He knew this fight was inevita-

"Keep it then."

-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa? Huh? Wait. What?

"Huh?" Great Red was greatly confused. Did Ophis, the most stubborn dragon in history, just say she gave up the home she fought the past millennia for? Nani? The f*ck?

Ophis just shrugged. "I came to tell you that I don't plan on returning to the Dimensional Gap anymore, so I came to call a truce. Seeing as the reason we fought is settled with, we don't have to fight each other anymore."

"Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait waaaaaaait-what do you mean you're giving it up!?"

Ophis tilted her head as if she didn't understand what he was saying. "I'm saying you can live in the Dimensional Gap. I don't want it anymore."

That... threw him in a loop. He was sure Ophis got desperate to return home and came here to end the fight in death, not give it up. At first, he thought she was trying to trick him, but his past encounters with her let him know one thing. Ophis isn't a liar. If she hates someone, she tells them. If she annoys someone, she tells them. If she likes someone, she tells them. She's brutally honest and very blunt, she doesn't leave things for question. If she says she's giving up on the Dimensional Gap then she's really giving it up.

That doesn't mean he understands why though.

"Well, later." Ophis created a portal and was about to walk through it.

"Wait." He called out to her. He needed her to clarify something. "What brought about this change?"

Ophis paused. She stood there for a couple of seconds before facing him again. What he saw shocked him greatly.

Ophis with a smile.

"I met him." She said sounding...happy.

Seeing as Great red was too stunned to speak, Ophis went through the portal.

She met him by chance.

While trying to find powerful foes to defeat Great Red, she felt a powerful energy surge in another dimension. Thinking it would be a great ally, she went to the energy surge. There she saw a pink-haired teen with a ginormous rainbow-colored fiery fist descending on a dragon in human form. She watched as the dragon took the attack and turned to glimmering dust. The space they were in started to collapse and she watched him fall back down to his earth.

That was the first time she saw the one known as Natsu Dragneel.

She waited for a few days for him to heal before interacting with him. She told him she was a dragon from another world and that she needed his help to beat a dragon who took her home. Much to her surprise, he agreed without a second thought. He said he was looking forward to fighting him. Seeing as he was too weak to properly hurt Great Red, she began to train him. It was just sparring sessions at first, with her giving a few pointers here and there, and with how he progressed, she thought it would take years before he could challenge him. That's why she was shocked at how fast he developed. Although he looked like an idiot, his mind was like a supercomputer.

In the span of one week, he mastered seven of the moves she taught him. That was faster than anyone she ever trained. Hell, it even surpassed hers. And she's the one who created those moves. The only problem she had with him was that he was loud. He acted on his feelings and would often challenge her to a fight, despite ending up inside a mountain all the time. She had half a mind to dump if it weren't for the fact that he was growing stronger every day. His growth surpassed many of the strong beings she knew. So she begrudgingly stayed to teach him.

Looking back, that was the best decision she ever made.

Despite often telling him to shut up, Natsu always told her about his stories. The adventures he's had and the friends he made along the way. He always looked so happy, which greatly confused Ophis. She was a being born without parents. She was brought into life with all the necessary knowledge. She had everything she needed to survive. Not that she really needed to. No one but her lived in the Dimensional Gap. She was there. Alone. In the silence. She never had anyone she was close with, thus the feeling of happiness eluded her. Actually, most feelings eluded her. She knew that she had joy when eating sweets and was angry at Great Red for stealing her home, but that was it. When she told Natsu about this he rubbed his hand under his chin before snapping his fingers, as if a great idea suddenly struck him.

"If you don't know what feelings are, then I'll just show them to you!"

She wondered why his words seemed to stir something within her.

The next day, Natsu brought her into town. Since they only ever met in the forest, she had no idea what to expect. She knew this world was less advanced compared to the Human Realm she stayed in, but she didn't expect the difference to be so small. What humans called technology was lacrima here in Earthland. He brought her to a cake store. She bought everything they had. Or rather, Natsu bought everything they had. She thought he would get mad at her for wasting his money, but he just laughed and waved her off.

"If my money could bring you this much happiness, then I would gladly give it all to you."

Despite her stony expression at the time, Ophis felt touched.

They ate the sweets on a roof, watching the sunset.

The day after that, Natsu brought her to his guild. Fairy Tail. Hearing the stories from him, Ophis knew she was in for a hard time. Fairy Tail was full of loud people and she HATES loud things. She preferred silence. And she didn't want to meet the 'Icy Pervert' of the place. Natsu seemed to dislike him a lot. While Ophis wanted to skip meeting Fairy Tail, the thought of Natsu being sad at her not attending made her feel...unpleasant. So she sighed and accepted defeat. After being dragged to the guild, Ophis mentally prepared herself for the headache approaching. She was surprised to find the members sitting at the tables, calmly drinking while making idle chats. He brought her over to the bar and asked Mira for food.

Ophis had to admit, the one known as Mirajane made wonderful food.

It wasn't long however when two black-haired men, one in underwear and the other with piercings on his face, came over with sh*t eating grins on their face and started taunting Natsu. They leered over him, wicked looks on their faces. They teased him about his 'date' and asked when they were getting married. To Natsu's credit, he managed to restrain himself the entire time. He stood there shaking, veins popping from his head. Ophis, seeing as Natsu was trying so hard, decided to assist him. Stepping down from her seat, she approached the two males and casually slapped them into the wall. Their legs dangled as their top halves were buried deep. Natsu watches the scene with wide eyes before letting out a long, joyful, laugh. A red-headed knight seemed to nod at her in approval before dragging the males by their feet somewhere else so she can deliver her own punishment.

No one bothered them after that.

Seeing as the day was about to end, Natsu and Ophis were prepared to leave when Mira quickly pulled her aside.

"You know, Natsu was REALLY looking forward to today." Mira whispered quietly so Natsu couldn't hear their conversation. "He even asked everyone to be quiet so they wouldn't bother you."

She wasn't sure what face she made when she heard that. But her cheeks felt hot and it appeared to make Mira's smile widen.

After that, Natsu brought Ophis everywhere he went. He brought her on jobs, he brought her to Crocus, he brought her to a beach, he brought her to all sorts of pastry stores and bought her all the sweets she desired. He taught her all sorts of things. How to fish, bake, cook, paint, everything he knew he taught it to her. Even if he sucked at most of it. These were ne experiences to Ophis, and she enjoyed every second of it. She enjoyed doing these things and started to appreciate the things around her.

She loved eating while watching kids run around a fountain

She loved painting the things she took an interest in.

She loved to bake cookies and enjoyed how deformed they were.

She loved to cook food and see people light up whenever they taste it.

And...

She loved doing anything when Natsu was with her.

She wonders how long it's been since she last visited to her world. The only thing she really cared for there were the sweets, something Earthland was plentiful off. It was then Ophis realized that she hasn't thought about the Dimensional Gap in the months she's been here. The Dimensional Gap was her home, something she fought for the past millions and millions of years. She wanted to get it back. That's why she trained Natsu. So that he could become strong enough to beat Great Red. And once that was over, they would go there separate ways and never...never...

Never see each other again.

Ophis wasn't sure why, bu the thought of never seeing Natsu again hurt her more than any physical pain she's ever received. It hurt her more than she ver thought it would. Natsu became a big part in her life. He's the one who showed her the joys of the world. The small things and all the hobbies she had now. he was the one who showed them to her. He brought her happiness. When she weighed which was more important, the Dimensional Gap and Natsu Dragneel, she was shocked at how much she didn't care if the Dimensional Gap was destroyed.

Natsu dying, leaving her forever, terrified her to no end.

It confused her greatly. The Dimensional Gap was her home. The place she belonged...right? It's where she spends her days alone...without the warm sun. Without the gentle breeze. Without the great lakes. Without friendly smiles.

Without him.

Greatly confused, she went to Natsu so she could tell her what she was feeling. But at the sight of him, her heart began hammering and her face felt like fire. Her knees went weak and she couldn't properly form sentences. What was she feeling? She never felt this way before? She needed answers, and she couldn't get them from Natsu. She immediately told Natsu that she'd be gone for a few days. Saying she was returning to her world to check on her subordinates.

"Ok then!" He smiled. "Come back soon!"

Feeling her heart clench, Ophis went through the portal to find some answers.

She went to the ones in her army, demanding them to tell her what was it she was feeling. However, seeing as the second strongest, and their boss, being was in a bad mood, most of them went on their knees and begged for forgiveness. Deciding they were no help, she left quickly. She next visited the Fallen Angel known as Kokabiel. Only because he was nearby. Kokabiel, being a b*tch, decided to start fighting her and saying that he'll kill her and become a god. Naturally, she punched him to the moon. Sensing demons nearby, Ophis went to the source. Noting the red hair the demon girl had, Ophis explained to her how she felt and asked what it is.

"I-if I may be so bold, Ophis-sama." Rias Gremory said from her dogeza. "It sounds like you're in-love."

Love.

A concept so foreign to Ophis, but somehow made sense to her. Yes.

She was in-love with the one known as Natsu Dragneel.

Making her decision, she thanked the demon for her time and went to visit Great Red.

The Dimensional Gap was my home. It was the only place I felt like I truly belonged. Because It's where I was born. It's where I spent my years of solitude in. I became attached to the place. That's why i was so annoyed that Great Red took it from me. If I wasn't in the Dimensional Gap, where would I go? Where did I belong?

Those were the thoughts that I used to think.

Now...Now I'm most certain as to where I belong. During my time with the humans, I heard a saying. "Home is where the heart is." If I follow that saying, then my home is wherever he is.

My home is by his side, forever smiling. Forever laughing. Forever wishing these days won't end.

Geez...Natsu truly is a sinful man.

He's made me feel things I never knew existed. I started looking forward to the days I spend. All because of him. He truly lives up to the title Dragon Slayer. He slayed the old me and brought forth an entirely new being. Even though I lived longer than anyone else, I discovered things new things about me everyday. Even though I've been adverse to change, why do I love it when he's shown me a new side of myself? He does it so naturally. As if he's picking up a pebbly from the side of a road. He took the seed known as my heart and nurtured it into a beautiful flower.

It's not a superpower, or some ancient magic. It's Natsu Dragneel being...Natsu Dragneel.

How strange. I giggle whenever I mention his name. Is this one of the affects of being in-love? Is it even love? I know I feel favorable towards him, more than any other being I met, but is it love? Whatever this feeling is, it makes me feel good. I think I could determine what it is I if stay with you more. If you brought such a change within me, could you bring out changes in others as well?

...No. I don't need to think about that. Whether you become someone special to others matters not. These feeling I have for you won't change. The one I hold dearly isn't the Fire Dragon king or Fairy Tail's Salamander.

But the being named Natsu Dragneel.

You were someone unafraid to challenge the strong. Someone who became special for never kneeling to the wall known as impossible. And because of that, you became someone special. Because you did your best...at simply being you.

I love the special and ordinary you. So, for now and forever-

Seeing Ophis arrive through a portal, Natsu dropped the tent he was holding

"Ophis! Done with your business?" He called out. "Me and Happy got a bit too intense playing tag, so our hammocks destroyed! Hope ya don't mind if we camp out tonight!" He turned back to the bundle of stuff he had. "We have snacks, board games, bedtime stories, some art supplies-OH! I even got those donuts you like!" He said while holding the aforementioned item.

Realizing something, he smacked his head.

"Almost forgot!" he set down the donuts and gave a warm smile to Ophis.

"Welcome back."

She gave a heartfelt smile.

"I'm home."

-please continue to be the special and ordinary you.
