Omegaverse with Hinata and Kageyama in their 3rd year.
I want to start off that I do not own anything of Haikyuu.
This is just a Fanfic variation of Haikyuu I wish to wright. This is also my first fan fiction, so please forgive me for any spelling or grammar mistakes.
I am rating this M for mature (18 year+), so continue to read on knowing this. This will have MxM relations so if this is not something you like this is not the story for you. This will take place in a Omegaverse reality were some of the customs and laws are different. The first chapter is mostly going to help set the backbone of what the main story will live in.
While I don't want to make up new people or characters, this story is mostly going to start off in Hinata's third year and on. So sadly, there will be some characters that I have made up. However, I do want to have a lot of the characters from the manga/anime come back for the university years.
I also want to say, that any scene where there is sex will be with people at least 18. I don't care if some of you come at me with "that doesn't fit the timeline" this is an alternate reality, and I am not going to wright scenes with under 18. Now there might be younger characters making comments or joking about but no actual sex.
Warning. Talk about abuse, suicide and non-consent.
Chapter 1 -Middle school
At the start of middle school every class is required to go over the ins and outs of one's second nature.
"Alright everyone please have a seat" Tajima Kyo announced to the riled-up class. She wore her usual long black skirt that went along with her pale blue blouse and had her dark brown hair pulled up in a tight bun.
For the most part the students were all excited for a new school as-well as meeting new friends.
Tajima Kyo stood at the front of the classroom along side 2 other faculty members. Tajima Kyo was of average built and that made the other 2 stand out even more.
Beside her stood a petite lady wearing navy blue scrubs. She smiled quietly to the students with her long wavy black hair partly hiding the almost doll like face. She was a good half a foot shorter than Tajima Kyo.
On the other side of Tajima Kyo stood a man almost a foot taller than her. He wore kaki pants and a white polo shirt. A long lanyard with a whistle hung around his neck.
"I would like to introduce Ozawa Rie and Nakatomi Michio" Tajima Kyo stated with her hands identifying the two standing by her.
"We are here this morning to teach you about your second nature and what to expect. Now some of you might have already experienced your second nature but most of you haven't. We are here to tell you more and answer some questions."
"Until your second nature comes out you are classified as an 'Unknown'."
Raising both of her hands to herself she said. "I am a beta and we are the most common type with roughly 70% of the population fitting into this. Beta's can be male or female and for the most part you wouldn't notice much of a change. Our sense of smell and taste goes up a little but not by much. "
"Now you will all go through a change with puberty your body is transitioning from kid to adult. Most betas will go through puberty alongside their second nature coming out. Not always but for the most part. Like I said, most will become a beta like myself, however there are also Alphas and Omegas."
Tajima Kyo used her arms and hands to direct the student's attention to Nakatomi Michio. "This is Nakatomi Michio and he is an Alpha. He is going to tell you a little bit about what it is like to be an alpha."
"Thank you" he said while coming over to stand in the middle by the podium. "I am an Alpha, and I first went through puberty around 12 but didn't come out as an alpha till I was 14. Most that are not betas go through their second nature around 13 to 16. 16 is typically on the later side and not that common."
"While we can all get tested to find out what we are or in some cases what we might be, though those tests aren't always accurate. I knew I was an alpha because I went through what we call a rut. We will explain more in ruts and heats in a little bit."
"We make up about 20% of the population with it being more male dominant then females. There are alpha females, there just aren't as many as there are males."
"Alphas are the more dominant of the second natures. By that I mean, we are more driven to positions of power. We tend to like to be in control and don't always like being told what to do. Now, there are different levels of alphas, some more driven to power than others. Just like there are different levels of betas. I have known some betas that I swear should have been alphas."
"We are typically stronger and faster than betas. A lot of the athletes you watch on TV are alphas. Not all but most. Now we can be head strong, which is why some teams will also have strong betas to help even out alphas. You get to many alphas together and sometimes there is more fighting among themselves for power then getting what needs to be done, done. It is one of the cons to being an alpha. Many CEOs of companies and even public officials can be alphas."
Looking out at the students before he continued to know he still had their attention.
"Now with being an alpha, I have an Alpha voice that I'm going to demonstrate. Ozawa Rie are you ok with that?" He asked. Ozawa Rie nodded her head and put her hands to her ears. She held them tight and closed her eyes.
With a loud and strong voice Nakatomi Michio spoke to the students "Be quiet and pay attention to what we have to say."
All the kids, including the two in the back whispering, stared at him in shock. While most of the students already knew a little about second nature. Very few had ever experienced an Alpha command.
Tajima Kyo went over and tapped on Ozawa Rie's arm to tell her it was over.
Nakatomi Michio looked over and got a nod from Ozawa Rie stating she was ok. With that he continued with the students. "Now, with this voice it can give orders. But it should not be abused. It is theorized that alphas developed this ability to take charge during tough times and danger. A strong enough Alpha command can carry weight even with another alpha as well as betas. I told you there are different levels even within all three second natures."
"Omegas are more susceptible to the Alpha commands. That is why I warned Ozawa Rie beforehand. Now she is going to go over more on omegas"
Ozawa Rie still looking a little shaken came up to the podium. However, when she took his place, she looked up at the students and gave them all a bright smile. "Hello everyone, I am Ozawa Rie and I am an omega. I went through puberty around 12 and then later that same year I went through my first heat making me an omega."
Even though she was shy, she continued. "Omegas make up only around 10% and we are mostly females. Now I know he told you that Alpha females aren't that common, Omega males are even more so. The likelihood of any of you males in the class becoming an omega is small. However, a few of the females might. "
"That being said, while I am here at the school for all students that might need me, I am mostly here to help the omegas that come out. Be them female or male."
"One of the biggest things about being a male omega is that their bodies are different from beta and alpha males. An omega male can get pregnant. Now when they give birth, it is a little more complicated and most have to have surgery. But male omegas can have babies."
"Omegas are more of a nurturing group. Most of you might not know this but, some of your elementary teachers were probably omegas. We also make great nurses and doctors," she said while waving her hands to herself, "because of our nature. Our sense of smell and taste go up a lot. Some of the most famous chefs are omegas because that gives us an advantage over our beta and alpha counter partners. I know, I personally love to cook and bake, I love bringing treats to work and sharing with my fellow staff members. It is part of the nurturing and taking care of others."
Both Michio and Kyo smiled at that, knowing that Rie's cakes were to die for.
"Now unlike alphas that get stronger leg muscles to get faster, many omegas do get lighter and become fast on our feet. This sadly, is a safety feature we have. It helps us better run from danger whereas an alpha would fight."
"Even though that alpha command was not directed at me it still could affect me. Omegas are hardwired to listen and obey the alphas they are around. And like Nakatomi Michio said it can be abused."
"It wasn't long ago that omegas were consider property and sadly there are people who look at us like we still are. I do want to stress this to any future alphas that might come from this class. Omegas don't like to be ordered to do stuff that goes against who we are. Now there could be a time that I might be in danger and can't think straight. An alpha like Michio-San could snap me out of it and give me an order to seek shelter."
"Like I said though regrettably there have been alphas that abused this privilege. Omega population is down so much because for the longest time people ran or hid that they were omegas. Taking dangerous medication to hide their scent from both betas and alphas. And many were driven to kill themselves to get away from that society."
"Now things have changed and there are many laws that protect omegas from having to go through what our ancestors went through. But there are still people out there that think in the old ways."
Nakatomi Michio spoke up saying "this is serious for all that are listening. Omegas and Alphas equal each other out. Unfortunately, with our history there aren't an even number of omegas to alphas. This has led to many, many different laws in place to protect them." He really wanted to stress to the students how important this was.
Tajima Kyo took this time to share some of her thoughts. "Now many of you will be betas and think this will not apply to you, but you would be wrong. Betas roles in the society is to even out and mitigate. We can be strong athletes like alphas and warm nurtures like omegas. We don't feel as strong as an omega to follow a command. We can speak up and go to the defense if we feel someone is abusing their power."
"The biggest thing about Alphas and Omegas are their pheromones that they give off. Betas give off a little to indicate what we are but not like and alpha or omega." She then conceded to Michio to recommence.
"I give off pheromones indicating strength. An alpha needs to learn to control this. I hold it back most of the day and I really hold it back when I am around omegas like Rie-San . I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable. I do however let a little out when correcting students" he said with a slight glare.
"Now if I am challenged by another alpha, yes, I will release a lot of pheromones making it uncomfortable probably for other betas and omegas around. Still, there are different types of pheromones I can let off. I can give comfort to those around me or let out anger to intimidate."
"I will say that omegas normally give off sweet pheromones that attract or comfort those around them. That can lead to alphas having a need or desire to control the omega. That is why it is important for any future alphas to get a firm grasp on your alpha as soon as possible."
"Our second nature is different for everyone. Some are stronger than others. Mine is like a second feeling I have that drives my emotions. There are those that claim it is like having another being inside them. Those that are like that are very strong. And is said, when they find their mates, that they can talk to each other mentally through their second nature being."
Ozawa Rie spoke up "mine is similar, I have strong feeling sometime to run or to bend to others because of my second nature. I can hold back these desires though if I feel like it. But for the most part I do try to still go with my instincts."
She looked at the students a little bit nervous to breach the next part of the lesson. Tajima Kyo sensed this and decide to take back over. "Now we said we would talk about what a rut and heat are."
"An alpha can go through a rut roughly 3 to 4 times a year. There is medication out now that can suppress the rut so the alpha may only go though 1 to 2 times. But most Alphas, from my understanding is, do not like to do that. The rut can last for 3 to 7 days. During this time the alpha pretty much only thinks about sex and how do get it."
This drew a bunch of laughs and giggles from the students. Michcio settled them down with a stern "listen."
"Right," Kyo said, "an omega goes through heat which can happen each month lasting 3 to 7 days. Though now with modern medicine, omegas can safely suppress to only have it 2-3 times a year. Which most do from what I have been told."
"Without the suppressants it would be hard for omegas to hold down jobs."
Rie decide to share, "If I didn't have those it would have been very hard to get through school and work here. I will say that though the heat might be over in 3-7 days and omega is generally very weak after and can take more time to recover."
"Also, it is very important not to leave a new omega by themselves for the first week or so. Omegas are flooded with so many new hormones. We kind of revert to almost kid like state. We are very clingy, not wanting to be left alone, as well as very trusting. Someone can take advantage of a new omega very easily, because the omega will not fight or question the person. They will just obey."
"We are not known for our violence, but during our heat. The desire to reproduce with the strongest person we can find is very intense. I have seen other omegas get very vocal and physical to gain or protect what they feel is theirs. Especially when their heat is coming."
"Now the suppressants will hold back the heat and rut. But we plan on going off them a few times a year to basically relieve the pressure. If we were to continuously take the suppressants it would not be healthy for us. Our bodies need to go through it at least a few times a year to keep our hormones in check. There are those that go to the hospital because the body couldn't take it anymore. Doing that could lead to some serious health problems."
"That being said as long as you listen to your doctor and take them as directed, you should be just fine"
"I do want to let you know that sometimes an alpha that comes across an omega in heat could be forced into going into their rut. And, vice versa with an alpha making an omega go into heat."
Tajima Kyo got the students attention again. "Alright we gave you the basic we are now going to let you ask some questions. But one at a time."
During this lesson a small little bundle of energy was listing intently, he was ready for a question. Shoyo Hinata with his messy red hair raised his arm the second that teacher asked if there were any questions.
"Yes, Hinata?"
"How do you pick an alpha. I really really want to play volleyball!" He asked with a big smile on his face.
Michcio smiled at the boy's question. "I'm sorry you don't get to pick. But don't worry, while most athletes are alphas there are plenty of betas as well. Next"
Hinata didn't like that answer. But it didn't matter to him. Because no matter what, he was going to play volleyball.
"Were do you go when you're in heat or rut?" and nervous girl asked.
Michcio answered. "Well, some alpha stay home and just lock themselves in. Omegas can do that as well if they live with others to watch out for them. But most omegas and some alphas go to special hotels. Not the same hotel. Alphas for the most part can keep a level head during their ruts. We might be thinking about sex the whole time, but we can still function alright."
Rie then added. "Omegas … well we need more care. Our minds go from one extreme to another. At the hotel they make sure, first, no one can get to us. Each room has a 2-door entree for safety, so if someone does make it in the building it is harder to get in the rooms. They also provide us food and drinks. During heat we forget about a lot and if there isn't someone making sure we are fed we don't eat. Which is one reason why its not safe to go through heat by yourself."
"Now if an omega has a safe home and people to care for them, they can stay at home. Mostly, that is for mated omegas that will have their alpha there the whole time. There have been stories where alphas came across an omega at home and the smell drove them to break in and attack the omega. If the omegas mate is there, that typically will stop others from going into their territory."
"Omegas have also been known to have the heat get the better of them. Mostly … if they are left alone. I have heard stories where they go out looking for someone and attack because the heat messed with their head. However, at the hotel they are locked in the room unless there is an emergency."
"Wow" the little girl said.
Rie "Next."
Kōji Sekimukai that sat in the back ask the next question. "What is that around your neck?"
Rie raised her hand to touch the black collar around her neck. "This is an omega collar. When an omega goes through their first heat, they are typically taken to one of those hotels we mentioned or to the hospital to gain control of the heat. From there an omega will be register with the government that they are an omega."
"This is meant for the government to watch out for us. This collar is part of that. They will provide a basic black collar that can be controlled with an app on my phone. Each collar has their own code for safety. This protects our necks that hold our glands. When an alpha mates with an omega, they bite down on this part of the neck binding us to them."
"As long as we wear our collars though an alpha can't mate us. They are incredibly strong, but if for some reason it is forcibly removed, and emergency beacon will go out to the police."
"Now hospitals do have the ability to take off our collars if they feel they need to. But there are many safety features in place to make sure they can't take it off just because."
"There are some companies now that make collars that come in different colors and designs. To better go with an omegas fashion sense." She finished with a smile.
"Yes, Kudo Goro. You have a question?" Kyo asked seeing the boy at the front of the class raising his hand.
"Can you break a mating bond"
Michcio took that question. "Yes, you can break a bond… It isn't an easy thing to do though."
"With modern medicine doctors have found a way to break a bond. It is said to be very painful for the omega though. And it can take them a while to heal from it. This is why it is very important to gain control, so you don't accidently mate. If you are under 18 your parents can force you to get the bond broken. But like I said it is not something that is taken lightly and can be painful."
"We as your teachers and school staff are trained to look out for clues that you are going through a second nature. Your parents will also be watching out for you. If you feel feverish or extra tired, please come see anyone of your teachers or staff and we will look after you."
Kyo drew there attention back to her. "Mating used to be a very private thing between us. However, with all the new laws within these last 100 years. We have been seeing more mating/wedding ceremonies. This is a more public way for others to say that 'Yes, I'm taking this person as my mate'. Mating is more for our animal side and weddings are for our more human side. For betas we can bond but not to the extreme that omegas and alphas do. And, if we break a bond, it won't hurt as much."
"There have been times when after a heat and rut, that an omega said that they were not fully aware of what was going on and that the alpha or beta took advantage. That is why, more and more of the public ceremonies are happening for protection on both sides."
"Though there are still some that have the mate biting in private and just file the paperwork with the government to make it legal. Like I said the mating is for the animal part, however you still need to legally marry for the government human part."
"It is definitely cheaper, that way. With the cost of weddings now a days." She said laughing. Though most of the students didn't care about money. They were just middle schoolers. "Next question?"
"I have a question?" a little boy Named Yukitaka Izumi asked. "What are true mates? I heard them talking about it on the news this morning, when my parents were watching"
Rio's face lightened at that question. "Oh….. you mean Tamanaha Tatsuya and Kanemoto Tatsuya. Everyone is so excited that they are celebrating their 50-year anniversary this week! There are foreign leaders coming to celebrate, along with the president!" She was so happy.
"A true mate is said to be picked from the heavens." Rio's face was blissfully happy. "One doesn't truly know if they are True Mates until they mate. Japan is home to two True Mates and we are very proud of that fact."
"We can tell they are True Mates from the markings that appear."
Getting serous she continued "Now we all have Chakra, and that is what gives our second nature its strength and allows us to live longer then back when our ancestors were just human. Our life expectance is now around 120 easily. The chakra is said to take a physical appearance in True Mates."
"Each True Mate have a matching unique design that is all theirs. These designs are knots and weaving of almost rope like figures to form a design. Most are small about 5cm in diameter. But… There are others like the Tatsuya's that form a ring around their neck."
"It is said the bigger the design, the more powerful and destined the mates are to each other. The Tatsuya's have the 4th largest design. Sadly, the Masayoshi couple, our 2nd True Mates in Japan, are 129 and 130 years old. Their health hasn't been well these last few years."
"As of right now, there are only 49 True Mates in the world" Kyo took over. "There is even a website where you can get information on all known True Mates. The USA is currently home to the most with them having 20 True Mates. But that is mostly because they are home to 'Gathering Island' a safe place for omegas. It isn't technically a state but a providence of the USA. For the longest time it was one of the few safe havens for omegas."
"If an omega could get there, they were not treated like property but humans. Though now with society seeing the importance of omegas and alpha relations being more equal. Omegas don't need to seek shelter there. "
"The average person can't just travel there; you need a visa. They do this to control how many tourists are on the island at any given time. Since most people go there hoping to find a True Mate."
Nakatomi Michio added "Now there have been people that have gotten tattoos on their necks to pretend they are True Mates. But scientists can tell if it is a true or fake marking. And at least in Japan it is illegal to fake a True Mate marking."
"In most countries they are treated like royalty. So, some thought they could get away with faking it to get free stuff. It didn't work out for them." Rio said laughing.
"What's nesting mean? My Uncle said he needed to get nesting stuff for a girl he likes." Another student asked.
"Well.. We omegas like to form nest in our homes. They are mostly low to the ground and are made up of soft stuff like blankets and pillows. I have a few stuffed animals. Most mated omegas will also have clothes that smell like their mate in them. It is a space that is ours and others can't come in unless we invite them."
"If your uncle is getting her nesting supplies then he must like her and is courting her. It is a way that and Alpha or Beta can show that they can provide for the omega. We talked about how it can get hard sometimes for an omega to get or keep a job with their heats. Well, most of the time when an omega finds a mate, they sometimes quit their job and the alpha or beta become in charge of the bills."
"Not always. I know several that like their independence and still work."
"We have this spot as a safety place. When and omega has a kid they will nurture them in the nest. Because that is the safest place to protect their young. We also know right away if someone messes with our nest. It might look like a pile of blankets and clothes, but we will know. And we will not be happy." Rio usual happy face was very serious then.
The class when on asking more questions and by the end the teachers were exhausted.
Later on in the teacher's room, Rio asked the others "what do you think? Any alphas or omegas in that class?"
Kyo looked up and said, "I think maybe be two or three male alphas and maybe one or two female omegas."
Michio added "same here."
Just then a young boy knocked on the door.
"Come on in Shoyo Hinata." Michio said. "Do you have more questions on what we talked about today?"
Hinata was a bundle of nerves "No, I wanted to see if I could join the boys' volleyball team?"
"I'm sorry Hinata but sadly we kept getting less and less participants each year till finally there isn't really a team now. I can get you set up with a different sport?"
"Is there any rule saying I can't join?" He looked at the teacher with sad eyes.
"Well no… The club is officially in the books. You would just be a club of one."
"That's ok, I will find others to join with me! Thanks coach!" he screamed and almost ran out the door. But he stopped and turned around. He bowed to the three and excitedly said. "Thank you!" before turning and leaving.
Rio laughed and jokingly said to Michio. "Looks like you will have a fun three years with him. I wonder which second nature he would be."
Kyo chimed in "Oh, I think he will just be a beta. Not big enough for an alpha and I highly doubt an omega. "
Rio smiled and said "We will see."
