Chapter One: Saviors.
Fire.
"You must go, the planet is failing as we speak."
Screams.
"Be safe, take care of your cousin..."
Explosions.
"MOM!"
Kara Zor-El opened her eyes to see.. nothing. Why was she just awakened? She turned to her left and could see her cousin's Pod just ahead of her, but it looked intact. So it was no warning sub system or alarm that had woken her up.
Suddenly a bright light shone on her pod, causing her to hold her arms up to block it. As she squinted her eyes a large shape came into view, it was a spaceship. But one unlike Kara had ever seen.
Two thin rectangular nacelles were attached to the bottom of a circular saucer section, below the saucer was a large protruding bay holding what seemed to be concussion launchers of some kind. An obvious weapon.
Alien letters were written on the nacelles and the top of the saucer section of the ship.
After she finished looking the vessel over, a blue energy field took hold of both kals and her pods, bringing them into an open cargo bay.
Kara expected to see some kind of never before seen Species, instead she saw what looked to be like Humans and humanoid aliens. Of course there were a few insectoid, reptilian and even furred aliens. But they all wore similar uniforms.
They must be part of a galactic organisation or something then, they didn't seem threatening.. but Kara knew to be wary, just in case.
After a few seconds, one of them turned in her direction and amazingly, spoke to her. "Can you understand us?" they asked.
Kara nodded, surprised.
"There is some tech in our belts, it's called a universal translator. It is designed to translate what you hear from us into your language and vice versa. I am Lieutenant Commander Jacen Laforge, these are medics. Is it okay if we approach to see if you are injured?" A tall, young, coffee skinned male human requested.
The girl nodded, opening the Pod so they could come to her.
"K-Kal?" Kara asked while the female reptilian kneeled near her, scanning her with a small cylinder as well as a cube like device.
"The baby, your cousin according to our scans?" she assumed the girl was asking about.
Kara nodded.
"He's fine, they have taken him to the med bay so he can be treated and given fluids and nutrition. All the stuff a baby needs." The medical officer told her with a small smile.
"Can I go to him?"
"Sure thing, our captain is coming down to ask a few questions, I'll ask him to meet us there. Okay?" The reptilian medical officer winked, leading Kara further into the ship.

A Father placed a young brother and my on his lap and showed them the stars. He knew each constellation off by heart, having been taught them by his late wife, their mother.
They never knew their mother, as she tragically died during their birth.
"The sky sure is pretty… someday I want to see all the stars, explore and make first contact with an unknown friendly species!, just like mom did." the young, thirteen year old boy whispered.
"And I want to build things to help you with that!" the brunette girl agreed.
"You will kids, both of you, and even though your mom is not here to see you do it. I will, I promise you both, whatever you choose to do. I'll be here for you." The father replied, ruffling his children's hair.
"We know dad… we know." The boy replied with a toothy grin, looking up at the sky. Daydreaming about the wonders of the universe and the secrets it held.
Henry Allen smiled at the awe in his children's eyes, remembering the same exact look he saw in his wife's eyes. He vowed to keep them safe, to raise them right and to support them through whatever they did.
Unfortunately, he would not be able to keep that promise. As in the morning, his two children would find themselves half way across the city, when they swore they had woken up to a storm of thunder and lightning. What's worse, when they raced home, they would find police all over their house. And their dad's body under a tarp.

(6 Years Later)
"Alex, I didn't need help moving in. I can carry it all you know?" Kara smirked, walking into the dorm reception of Accommodations building C for Starfleet Academy.
"Yeah, but mom, dad and I worry that people will see you as...different"
"We live on a planet that is part of a galactic organisation of peacekeepers and explorers, we see different kinds of people every day!" Kara reasoned.
"True, but they can't fly without a thruster pack, lift buildings without repulsor tech and see through almost any material without an X Ray machine. Oh yeah, you also have like nearly a dozen other powers. Including invulnerability." Alex retorted.
"The Majority of said powers only work in systems with yellow sun's, there are millions of star systems out there where I'll be no different from a human! Besides freeze breath and super speed." Kara reminded her, only for her to hit something.
"OOF!" Exclaimed a masculine voice, causing Kara to wince and turn to the side. She looked down to see a dumbfounded (and very cute looking) Human boy with emerald green eyes and brown curly hair.
"Sorry, didn't see you there." She apologised, her face going red. Great, First day and she'd already knocked someone over.
"H-Huh, uhh don't worry about it. I think I'm at fault too." The boy replied, blinking quickly before getting himself up.
"I'm Barry, Barry Allen." He greeted, holding out his hand.
Kara shook his hand, locking eyes with him. Oblivious to the fact that her sister was looking between the two with a large knowing grin. "Kara, Kara Danvers."
"So, do you need help to the dorm?"
"Uh, yeah. I'd like that." Kara said, giving Barry the boxes she had as they then walked off. Forgetting her sister for the moment.
Alex shook her head. "Oh boy, she's hooked. Mom will get a kick out of this." The redhead cackled, following after the two, but making sure to leave some space so she didn't interrupt them.

"The particle Accelerator is half constructed, all we need now are extra staff and the equipment to run the various other experiments that have been granted for us to do." A digital female voice stated.
"Excellent, it's nice to know we're on schedule.. now as I was saying. Ensign Caitlin Snow, I hereby officially welcome you to Star Labs. I look forward to seeing your work and ideas in action."
"Thank you Doctor Wells, I am honoured to have been selected. I won't let you down." Caitlin replied with a big smile, leaving the office with joy on her face.
Once the door had shut behind her, Doctor Wells eyes flashed crimson for a moment, and his body vibrated on the spot. "No...I don't think you will."
