Dalliance Chapter 2 {Cannon}
"Um, are you getting out?" The driver asked gruffly. Amanda glanced down at her watch, back to the enticing block of flats, and once again that night made a sensible decision: waking her best friend at two in the morning while slightly tipsy was not a good idea, nor a fair one.
"No." She decided, before giving him her own address. Amanda couldn't suppress a satisfied smile. Simon and his unshakable sensibility were rubbing off on her. If he knew of her multiple triumphs of logic and self discipline that night he would've been extremely proud. She didn't know exactly when that had become part of her decision making criteria, but, so far, it was working out pretty well.
She pressed her fingers to her lips and tossed a kiss towards his building, folding her fingers in a little wave. She would see him in the morning, and until then she would sleep peacefully in the knowledge that she'd done the right thing. Maybe she could even coax him into a belated celebratory drink, in honour of her new self control.
She definitely owed him a beer for helping her find it.
