Authors Note:

Okey dokey, here's my first fic! Well, not really but it's something anyways.

I had this really random idea a couple years back, what would a non-existent character in Leverage say in a interview?

Here's the result. R/R's would be lovely :)

Interviewer: Hi Catherine.

Catherine: Hey, it's great to be here.

Interviewer: So, you're the latest addition to the Leverage team, eh?

Catherine: laughs. Not quite. I'm not even sure if Mr. Director and the screen-writer's want to go that far.

Interviewer: No? But I heard the rating for that show was through the roof, for that show compared to its own anyway.

Catherine: It was! And I'm so glad of it but my character wasn't originally in the script for the long run.

Interviewer: So you're hoping they'll put her in?

Catherine: Yes, yes definitely.

Interviewer: So how did the rest of the cast treat you?

Catherine: laughs. I guess this would be the part where I rat them out and dish about all the types of weird rituals they have?

Interviewer: laughs. That'd be a nice bonus.

Catherine: Nah, they've all been really great. When the first rumor of adding my character to the show came around, everyone was truly enthusiastic about it. You can't imagine how relieved I was.

Interviewer: Relieved? About what exactly?

Catherine: Well, you know how good some people are at hiding their true feelings. I was just hoping that no one would be that way.

Interviewer: Is anyone that way?

Catherine: laughs. Of course not! I might not have said anything if there was.

Interviewer: So you play Elisha Donohue, cousin to Elliot Spencer? How was that?

Catherine: I'm not sure what you're asking. Was it great to play Elliot's cousin? Or great to act on the set of Leverage?

Interviewer: Both.

Catherine: laughs. It was fun playing Elisha. Mostly because she's one of the few people who are able to throw Elliot so off foot and temporarily make him lose some of his valued control.

Interviewer: Oh really?

Catherine: Yep. To see Elliot not mad and really, genuinely happy, while at the same time sort of lost, is apparently a really huge thing.

Interviewer: Keep talking.

Catherine: laughs. It was definitely lots of fun to be on set.

Interviewer: So Elisha and Elliot find out their not really cousins because of Elisha's digging around, what happens there?

Catherine: Well, basically, Elliot realizes that after all this time, he is actually free to date her. Apparently, he's had this humongous crush on her ever since they were kids growing up together. And now that he can date her, he doesn't know how to go about it. He still has the mentality that they're cousins even though they're really not. Elisha was unofficially adopted, you know, back in the time when papers didn't really mean anything.

Interviewer: Do you know just how many women would die to be in your shoes? You get to play a character of which Elliot has had this major crush on his entire life!

Catherine: laughs. I have thought of that actually. And I definitely wouldn't have it any other way.

Interviewer: So how was the fight scene?

Catherine: Oh my gosh! I had so much fun doing that scene!

Interviewer: Sure you did, you got to touch Christian Kane.

Catherine: laughs and smacks interviewer. That's not nice, and anyways, do you still want me to tell you about it or what?

Interviewer: You got the floor.

Catherine: Okay well, the first day of filming after I finish reading the script the director comes up to me and tells me we're gonna start filming the hardest scene first, which was the fight scene, or at least, one of the fight scenes. But anyways, it was hard mostly because I am this little thing and he's like, huge compared to me.

Interviewer: So basically a David and Goliath, huh? Okay, keep going.

Catherine: Yeah, then he walks off and the assistant director starts taking me to where I'm supposed to go and then there we are, on set. So the first thing that happens is two people, who are chosen to play doubles and apparently already know what to do in case either me or Christian don't wanna do it, play out that part of the scene in which Elisha and Elliot take a hustle.

Interviewer: That's a lot. Okay keep going.

Catherine: So they finish, the doubles introduce themselves as Ernie and Monica, and then the director looks at me and says, "If you don't think you can do it, you always got Monica here." Well, you can imagine my reaction!

Interviewer: laughs. Actually, no. Tell me?

Catherine: laughs. I took what he said as a challenge and told him I'd be doing my own stunts. Laughs again. Christian was just standing there like, "Sure what the heck, this girlie's gonna get what she's asking for." Laughs.

Interviewer: So?

Catherine: Well the scene came out great, didn't it?

Interviewer: I'd say it came out awesome.

Catherine: Thanks.

Interviewer: No problem. Was it hard?

Catherine: Sort of, not really. Mostly because I already have a solid background in martial arts. A lot of the stunts were just basically like a real, live, super slowed down, kata, except there was a real person who was doing the exact opposite on the other end.

Interviewer: Kata. What's that?

Catherine: laughs. Oh I'm sorry. Here, it is the formal pattern that is the backbone of karate training. It develops form, style, speed, balance, and control. Kata trains the individual in the alertness of mind and body. That's the definition of kata from my karate school.

Interviewer: Ah, now it all makes sense.

Catherine: laughs. I'm glad.

Interviewer: So it was easy then?

Catherine: For the most part I guess. The whole thing is choreographed so all I had to do was make sure I was in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing or holding the right thing, while hoping that he was where he was supposed to be and doing what he was supposed to be doing. Occasionally, I would have to improvise.

Interviewer: Improvise on occasion? Why?

Catherine: Well, maybe I was too far from the stick that I was supposed to pick up at that moment, or maybe we were to close for me to complete that kick that I was supposed to deliver. In the first scenario, I would have to find something equal to the stick or run, and in the second scenario, I would have to improvise with a solid punch to the gut or the nose or something.

Interviewer: Sounds like some tough stuff.

Catherine: shrugs. The director liked my ingenuity. So did the choreographer. They both agreed that real life wasn't really something that could be planned ahead exactly anyways.

Interviewer: claps. You think well on your feet then.

Catherine: I got the smarts, why not use them? Laughs.

Interviewer: And Christian?

Catherine: laughs. As expert and experienced a stuntman he is, he didn't stand a chance.

Interviewer: So that added to the whole out of control theme?

Catherine: Oh very much.

Interviewer: So I heard you two went head to head, but off set?

Catherine: gasps and laughs. I can't believe that got out! But yes we did go "head to head" as you put it.

Interviewer: What happened?

Catherine: At first it was a talk of whose sport would better help me should I ever happen to be in the dire circumstances as Elisha, my karate or MMA? So we found a proper referee and had a tap-out match. We agreed that the first person to call tap out lost, the other left standing, the winner.

Interviewer: You're crazy.

Catherine: I admit, I was. I mean look at me! I'm only 5'4 weighing 119! I barely qualify for light-weight division let alone whatever divvy he might fall into! Then here's Christian and he's way taller not to mention so much heavier. There were a lot of skeptics in the gathered crowd that day.

Interviewer: You're crazy.

Catherine: laughs. Yes I was. We had all the proper safety gear, head, mouth, hand, feet, shins, everything. Thing is, we only used two of them. Hands and mouth.

Interviewer: You're crazy.

Catherine: laughs. And you sound like you're still shocked at the fact that I took on a guy twice as big as me, and lived tell the tale.

Interviewer: laughs. You're crazy.

Catherine: Anyways, knowing I had such a handicap, I knew what I had to do. Not to brag or anything but at my karate school, my sensei always had me spar guys about his stature but way younger, cause what is he? 36? Anyways, they were totally physically fit and faster, stronger, better and well, you know how that goes.

Interviewer: So what was your game plan?

Catherine: Oh right. Well, since I was aware of the handicap, I knew I had to get in all my punches fast then get outta there, because once he had me in some kind of hold, I knew I would be stuck, definitely a goner, and while I may actually get a chance to get out of the hold, the chances would be pretty slim. You know?

Interviewer: laughs. Not really but I get the general idea. What happened?

Catherine: I did my thing.

Interviewer: And?

Catherine: And I won.

Interviewer: You won?

Catherine: Yep. He was really good at avoiding most of my hits though.

Interviewer: You won?

Catherine: Yeah, but man, did I have to work for victory and before you say anything else, I made him swear to not go easy on me or else, and God help me, I would get him while he was sleeping just for "taking it easy" on a girl.

Interviewer: You won?

Catherine: Yes, and it appears you are shocked again.

Interviewer: Well, yeah, I mean, YOU WON?

Catherine: Yep. Laughs.

Interviewer: Out of all the outcomes, you won?

Catherine: Yes, I won. You can't imagine all the money that changed hands after the match.

Interviewer: How'd Christian take it?

Catherine: How else? I did damage his ego but apparently not so much that he couldn't pull me into an unnecessarily smothering hug while whispering some congratulations.

Interviewer: Smothering hug, eh? And it sounds like he was whispering more than just congratulations.

Catherine: Yeah, apparently still asserting his manly strength over women. Laughs. But it was all good fun. My parents were horrified when they heard about it. I'm so glad I wasn't the one to break the news to them.

Interviewer: If you didn't tell them, who did?

Catherine: laughs. One of my parent's friends works on set with the lighting crew and saw the whole thing. He tattled. If it were up to me, I would have never told them. Laughs.

Interviewer: And the whispering?

Catherine: Might have been because I hit him a good one to his gut after faking to the right, then got him into this really great submission hold that he had to tap out. I guess he was winded, and extremely uncomfortable, especially in the nether parts.

Interviewer: How do you know about submission holds? I mean, how'd you learn to do one?

Catherine: Well, I'm the oldest of 6 kids, and the only girl. All of the boys are into that sort of thing, WWE RAW and all that stuff. Taller and stronger, you know the whole phase of male teen growth. Occasionally they would mess with me by wrestling and getting me into some really uncomfortable holds so of course I have to kick their butts, you know defending the rights of the eldest and all. Laughs. And trust me, I give twice as good as I get. They leave me alone for a good week after I serve them up.

Interviewer: laughs. Well, I'd love to talk to you more but I see your manager giving me the "times up" sign. It was nice meeting you and talking to you.

Catherine: grins. Same here, anytime.

Another Author's Note:

Soooooo yeah! There it is!

If you see any errors, grammatically or other wise, let me know!

I'm thinking of writing Elliot Spencer/Elisha Donohue into a fanfic... with a few cons and all the works, of course.

What do you guys think? Reviews would be lovely. :)
