Shit.
Shit. Shit. Shit Shit
Everything happened too fast.
His mind was a restless mess and there was nothing he could do except lay on his makeshift bed and stare at the empty walls.
He should have never accepted her contract, it was her fault his life had turned upside down, but then again it's not like he had a choice anyways. And it's not like reminiscing on the past would do him any good. With a frown on his face, he let a small sigh escape his lips.
The past.
He couldn't help but smack his teeth. How long had it been? Four days? Five days? Maybe even a week? He shook his head to prevent himself from thinking too much about it. After all, who could keep track of time in a cave?
At least he assumed it was a cave of some sort.
It was a space provided by them to ensure he was fit for the role of the contract. Of course it was not presented in that manner to him instead it was sold under the pretense that it would be a safe environment with 'special conditions' that would allow let him collect himself before meeting his new 'brother'.
He grit his teeth as he thought about their 'kindness' but stopped dwelling on his thoughts to rescan the unfamiliar surroundings. As long as he had been there something about the supposed cave bugged him, he knew they had something to do with it but wondered just how strong their interference was.
The feeling of unease only grew the more he stared at the surrounding walls. But stopped the urge to investigate with a sigh. It didn't matter where he was, what did matter was why he was there.
He could feel a shadow of doubt starting to enter his mind and as much as he tried pushing it down he couldn't ignore the unpleasant familiar feeling of regret. Ever since that day, the only thing that came out of mouth were empty promises.
After tossing and turning he decided to get up, careful to not come in contact with the kid he was now acquainted with.
He smacked his teeth again.
He wasn't just a kid anymore.
He was his brother.
Those were the terms of the contract after all.
