A collection of thoughts and poems from the Bleach cast as the cold war drags on…

As I watch them walk through the portal

I feel I am betraying them in some sense

As their teacher I should be leading them forward and calling the shots

But I cannot tread the path which they follow

I must stay behind like a loving mother watching her sons go from the doorstep

Silently knowing them may not all come back to me

Because of what I must here in the world they leave behind

I have plans to set in motion

And things to set up which will help them in the near future

Yet I feel some regret that I cannot protect them

But have had to train them

Teach them

Raise them

And watch them bloom into the warriors I have created in them…

The kittens venture into the black abyss

Were the larger cats do not dare to tread…

Yoruichi Shinoin

What was seen as good has turned out to be rotten on the inside.

Underneath the layers of lies and deceit,

The core shines with the ugly truth.

Life long friends have become overnight enemies.

Lovers beat each other to a bloody pulp on a broken background of rubble and dust.

Students are forced to fight their teachers, knowing that the score is kill or be killed…

For those who live through these horrors and nightmarish battles,

Nothing will ever be the same…

Their bodies may survive and heal,

But their minds and souls will not.

I not only see broken building and battered bodies littering the devastation,

But also destroyed hearts – ripped apart and beyond repair…

As the war drags on,

Many lose themselves…

Yamamoto Genryusai

In my soul and in my mind I know I must fight against you

But my heart screams at me to stop,

Lower my weapon,

And run into your arms…

But I know I can not do that…

I know I must fight,

Hold back my fears

And disagree with aching heart…

Izuru Kira

Breaking through the barrier I see the destruction before me.

I feel the rapidly falling reiatsu of those wounded and still fighting in the distance

My body moves automatically and I feel those with me do the same

We rush to save those who are fading away,

And help those who are one their last legs

Children have yet again been sent to war

While those with more power and experience are forced to wait for orders

And stand idly by while the young are massacred, unable to do anything to help…

Byakuya Kuchiki

I sit here and wait for news

Not knowing if my comrades are safe

If we have won

Or if this nightmare is over

I am stuck here,

Protecting the fought

Holding down the barracks

And keeping some sense of emergency order

While they fight on the frontlines

And in the pits of hell…
