"Ignore it Sev," Lily said almost absentmindedly. "If I keep ignoring her, she'll send me a howler." Lily smiled mischievously at him. "If she tries such a thing on Christmas, I'll send her one right back!" Severus laughed at the thought of sweet Lily Evans doing such a thing. He looked down fondly at the potion set she'd given him and a pair of casual robes that didn't strongly imply he should be in Slytherin.
"Mum and my friends all said that clothes were a horrible Christmas gift but-" Severus laughed. "I love it, thank you. Now I won't get odd looks when I wear all the green tailored clothing with silver interwoven. Really." Lily smiled, she had her hand sitting fondly on the book Severus bought her.
"Merry Christmas, Severus!"
It was the best Christmas of his life so far. It was, however, far from being the best Christmas he would ever have at all.
