The Tribe

Lex sat in the mall next to Zhandra. It was pretty hot and being in this Bayville town was unusual. Luckily, they had Mike. They were posing as young foreign exchange students from New Zealand, Australia, UK and Ireland, basically almost anywhere.

Lex grumbled " This sucks." It has been a bit of a while since the Mallrats formed. He put on a black T-shirt, his khaki jacket and a pair of jeans. He had to go to school at some place called Bayville High along with Bray, Zhandra, Amber, Ryan, Dal, Trudy and Jack.

He could already tell trouble would start. Firstly, he hated Bray and the feeling was mutual. Second, living on the streets and having no formal education accounted to his problem of his inability to read and

write which he has gotten better at, but not by much.

Lex, Ryan and Zhandra walked to Bayville High along with Amber, Dal and Jack while Bray skateboarded to school.

Lex was walking up the stone steps when he noticed a guy behind him wearing red sunglasses. Lex turned around, angry.

Lex grabbed the guy by the front of his sweater and growled " What you looking at, four eyes?"

Lex heard no reply from the guy so he shoved him backwards.

Lex thought " Who does he think he is? All he is a freak."

Lex walked away with Ryan and Zhandra, muttering " Damn geek."

Jack sighed. He and Dal were lucky that nobody would pay attention to a couple of freshmen. Let alone some new students.

The first class was English. Lex groaned. This would be terrible. Then again, he was part of the Mallrats. He could make it through this.

Mike and Lex looked at each other. Lex smirked evilly. Mike shrugged and continued reading his comic book. There was no trouble.

Lex texted Amber, the traitor, Ryan, Zhandra and Salene. Time for the Mallrats to get their day started.

Lex noticed the geek coming towards the desk in front of him. He picked up his backpack and moved to the desk in front of him.

The geek asked " May I ask what you're doing at my desk?"

Lex laughed and said " Your desk? This is my desk, nerd. But if you'd like, you could go over there."

He pointed to Mike's seat. As Scott began to make his way over, Mike sat down, smiling.

Mike said " Sorry, ape. Maybe you'll find a seat eventually."

The class was reading Romeo and Juliet. Mike sighed. He had read the book 9 thousand times. He didn't need to read any more.

The teacher shouted " Alright, class, your assignment is to practice Act 2, Scene 2 with a partner. Your partners are..."

Lex just toned the teacher out after that. Mike and Amber are one group. Ryan and Salene are another along with Lex and Zhandra.

After class, Lex asked " So, prat, who did you get?"

Bray looked down and muttered " Jean Grey."

Lex mockingly said " What was that, prat? I couldn't hear you over the talk."

Bray said at a normal sound " Jean Grey."

Lex laughed before replying " You mean that red-haired bimbo? The one who kept answering all the questions?"

Bray nodded wordlessly.

Lex smirked. Today was going to be great at this new high school.
