"YOU KISSED?" Suki exclaimed as Letty gave her the play-by-play of her date. "Shit! Who kissed who?"

"Well. Technically…"Letty started. "Technically, I kissed him. It was the heat of the moment. He just beat me in bowling, he was so excited, and looked so handsome, Suki!"

"Letty. You like this man" Suki stated.

Letty simply rolled her eyes and murmured "Duh"

"Rome SHE kissed ME!" Dom shouted as he sat in the firehouse living room. "You have no idea how shocked I was. All I did was beat her in bowling."

"I don't believe you," Rome replied. "Why would she let you win-"

"Let me win? Rome please."

"Dominic Toretto, you suck at bowling." Rome deadpanned. He got up and walked to the kitchen.

Dominic had been texting Letty all day throughout his shift. They were flirting back and forth, planning for their next date. Letty had Dominic smiling like crazy.

D: So, Not to rush but when are you cooking for me

L: Never

D: Never ever?

L: Never ever ever

D: Damn Let.

L: Since you insist, can you do brunch at my place tomorrow afternoon

Before Dominic even got a chance to reply the firehouse alarms began blaring Truck 81 Squad 3 Ambulance 61 Person trapped at 751 Echo Park Terrace.

Every member of the Firehouse 51 stood up quickly and rushed to their designated vehicles to take off for the call.

As all of Firehouse 51 pulled off with lights and sirens blaring, Letty pulled into the grocery store with a mental list for the best brunch ever. She caught herself smiling as she walked down the grocery store aisles filling her cart. She didn't even ask if he'd be available until after she decided to make brunch. And what if he wanted to spend his Sunday off with his son? That thought made Letty stop in her tracks. She checked her phone waiting for Dominic to confirm.

She decided to keep shopping anyway. By the time she was at the register and taking out her phone to pay with Applepay a low ding! Chimed from her phone

D: Brian and Jack have hockey tomorrow and my brother-in-law is taking them so tomorrow afternoon would be perfect. But won't that disrupt your Sunday reset?

L: One Sunday won't hurt.

D: Perfect

L: See you tomorrow. At noon.

She packed the groceries into her car and headed home to start her Sunday reset early.

Sunday 8 am:

Firehouse 51 had an extremely busy night. Back to back calls and very little sleep but the way Dominic practically danced out of his office with bright eyes and a bright smile would make everyone else think otherwise.

"Lieutenant, what has you in such a good mood?" Their candidate asked.

"Big date" Rome interrupted "Aint that right Lieutenant?"

Dom shook his head ignoring the two of them and made a quick B-Line to his car.

4 hours until I have to be at Letty's. He thought and began going down his to-do list. Drop off Brian's hockey gear. Say hi to Brian. Quick family breakfast. Quick nap? Then Letty's. Should I bring something? Maybe flowers? But she's not a flower type. It's a nice gesture, grab flowers.

As Dominic pulled into his sister's driveway, he could see his son waiting on the porch waving.

"Dad! You're here!" Brian shouted as he ran down the steps into his father's arms. "Are you bringing me to hockey today?" he questioned as his father brought him back to the house.

Not today. I need to get some sleep, it was a busy night. Lots of calls. But uncle Brian will record practice and give me the rundown."

"Okay. Are you going to eat with us?"

"Of course I am."

Knight followed Letty around as she nervously tidied her already clean home. The more Letty became nervous, the more Knight worried. The food was on the stove at a low simmer to keep it warm. Letty broke into her teacher appreciation week candle stash and lit a few throughout her home. She was dressed comfortably- dark wash jeans, a nice sweater and fuzzy socks.

11:26am she heard a knock. Knight barked instantly. She slowly walked to her front door to let Dominic in.

"Letty, I can smell whatever you're making as soon as I walked up the stairs. Please tell me it's ready." Dom stated

"Hello to you too." she joked.

"I'm sorry. Hi Letty. Thanks for having me over for brunch. It smells great. Here are some flowers."

"Thank you. I love sunflowers." she smiled and walked into the kitchen. Both Dom and Knight followed behind her. "I made shrimp and grits with homemade buttermilk biscuits. I know you're a corona guy but I typically don't drink on Sundays so there's orange juice or water."

"Damn, I was not expecting all of this Letty. Thank you," he stated sincerely.

Letty placed the sunflowers in an empty vase and then made both her and Dominic a plate. They discussed his shift, her job, and the purpose of Sunday reset, and she mentioned how much shit Suki is going to give her tomorrow when she informs her that she cooked for him.

"We should double date sometime," Dom mentioned as he cleared the table and loaded her dishwasher. "Well, maybe triple since you met my sister and brother in law"

"Did I?" she asked. She knew them as Jack's parents that did not respond to her emails.

"Yes at your friend's wedding." he opened his phone and showed Letty a group picture from Giselle and Han's wedding. He zoomed in and pointed to his little sister. "That's Mia, you're literally standing next to her." he chuckled.

"What a small world," she whispered. "She was so nice Dom."

"Yeah, sounds like Mia. Miss Congeniality and all."

"Don't be jealous. That's not cute" Letty joked.

"No. She was literally voted Miss Congeniality several times" he reassured her.

Letty nodded and soaked in the information. "Explains why Jack is such the social butterfly."

"You have no idea."

After Dom helped Letty get her kitchen back to normal the two made small talk while semi-cuddling on Letty's couch. Some old movies playing in the background. Dom traced small circles on her right arm as Letty told a story about her first year of teaching.

"For me, it was always cars. I couldn't imagine my life any other way." Dom said softly looking down at her as she was cuddled into his side. "Brian and cars. And recently, sometimes I think you belong on that list too."

"Brian, cars, and me."

"Brian. Cars. Letty." he whispered and leaned down to kiss her.

"HE SAID WHAT!" Suki exclaimed the next morning as they walked down the school hallway toward their classrooms. "You've had like two and a half dates Leticia!"

"I didn't say it, Suki, he did!"

"Dad, I'm going to marry Leticia Ortiz. Mark my words." Dom said as he worked on an engine with his father.
