Kagome woke to the realization she was laying on the living room rug. Her face hurt from the rug print across it and her head was aching from the tears she had shed.
She rose and went into the kitchen to make some coffee. Looking at the clock on the microwave, suddenly
realizing it wasn't even six o'clock yet, she rolled her eyes. She didn't even need to leave for work for several hours.
Sighing she made a cup of coffee and went in to sit on her sofa to see what was happening on the news. Three cups of coffee later and she still couldn't clear her head from what had gone down last night.
She wasn't even sure she wanted to know what happened. Maybe Sango was right, maybe she did deserve better. How was she going to change his mind about love if he didn't even care if she was in the room with him.
'I guess it doesn't even matter.' She thought helplessly. She was starting to feel she had been giving him love he didn't deserve. All her thoughts were depressing her to no end.
Standing under the showerhead she let the warmth envelop her. Leaning against the wall exhausted from her thoughts and the events of the night before. All she could think about was calling in sick.
She knew Dr. Miyagi needed her though. His dental office could not run without her. She did everything, from scheduling to the bookkeeping. His bubble headed assistant could never handle Kagome's job and her dental assistant job at the same time.
She sighed for what felt like the 100th time that morning and went to get dressed. Maybe being around others would help keep her mind off of him.
Realizing she was still early, she decided to stop at the coffee shop near the train station. Grabbing a seat by the window she hoped watching the people going by might keep her occupied.
Watching the men and women hustle by in their business attire heading for the train station made her realize she had better hurry up. When she noticed one person in particular. He was a head taller then most.
He had stark white hair like Inuyasha's only longer. Making him easy to pick out of the crowd. He actually looked an awful lot like Inuyasha. Only even more beautiful if that was possible.
She watched him with deep curiosity as he opened the door to the coffee shop and came in shaking off the cold. Kagome started to notice every woman in the shop was also staring at the man with equal curiosity.
When he spoke to the cashier Kagome noticed her mouth was hanging open and closed it with a snap. His voice was like silk, just as sexy as he was. 'Did she really just think that?'
He received his order and turned to leave. However he stopped and started looking around the shop. Suddenly he started to walk towards Kagome. 'Oh my god, he is coming my way.' She thought in a near panic.
He pointed to her table and asked if she was reading the newspaper laying on it. "Oh, no I was actually just leaving. You can have it if you want." She smiled and stood to leave.
"Thank you. I was just leaving to catch the train as well, do you think they will notice if I take it?" His face was completely blank, but still just as sexy.
"No I highly doubt they worry about whether or not someone takes the papers." She smiled again and turned to leave. She could feel he was behind her right on her heels.
They both headed up the ramp to the platform to enter the fist arriving train. Kagome found an empty seat, pulled a book out of her purse and settled in for the half hour ride to work.
"Mind if I sit here?" Looking up she saw it was the beautiful man from the coffee shop. Smiling she said "of course not."
The man gracefully sat down next to her. On top of everything else she now also noticed he smelled really good too. 'Geez, this man is truly the most perfect being ever created.'
Kagome tried to read her book but all she could think about was the man next to her. She wondered what his name was, what he did for a living, how come she had never seen him before?
As if he could read her mind her turned to her and said "My name is Sesshomaru, may I ask your name?" Kagome's face instantly blushed crimson. " Oh, uh….sure it's Kagome."
"Pretty name for a pretty girl." He ripped a piece off of the newspaper and started to write on it. "That is my name and cell number. You should give me a call and I will take you out sometime. This is my stop, nice to meet you Kagome."
Before she could even realize what had happened he was gone. She looked at the paper in her hand and a giant smile crossed her face.
