Kagome got up from the sofa and stood in front of Inuyasha. Leaning down she pulled his arms up and around her neck. "Come on, lets get you up and onto my bed. You need some rest." She smiled at him to assure him she meant what she said and it was ok.

She struggled to pull him up but with a little effort was able to get him in a standing position. She carefully helped him back to her room and sat him on her bed. She got him to lay back so she could examine his wound. There was blood seeping through the bandage and she was afraid he might have pulled a few stitches.

After carefully removing the bandage she noticed that his stitches were still intact but that there was a little bit of fresh blood around the incision. She went into her bathroom and retrieved some first aid supplies so she could clean him up. She dabbed some antiseptic on the wound to clean up the blood causing Inuyasha to hiss her name.

"Sorry, I want it to heal properly." She then rubbed some antibiotic ointment on it and bandaged the wound back up. Inuyasha watched her intently through the whole procedure. He was amazed at the care she was taking with him. He knew he did not deserve her generous touch and was humbled by her kindness towards him.

"You know, you are very lucky to have Sesshomaru. He worked very hard to save your life. He loves you a great deal." She frowned at him letting him know she would only accept high praise of Sesshomaru. Inuyasha smiled back at her and said "I know, and you are lucky too because he loves you a great deal as well."

Kagome gasped and lightly smacked him on his shoulder. "Oh please, he does not. A man like your brother does not fall in love with idiot girls like me." She gathered all of her supplies and got up to leave when Inuyasha grabbed her forearm. "Kagome my brother IS in love with you and you are more than special enough for him. He would be very lucky to have you and so would Rin. Who also loves you very much."

She bent down on her knees next to the bed, laid her head next to Inuyasha and started to cry. Inuyasha instinctively began to rub her head. " I am so tired of crying, why is this happening to me? Why does it have to be so hard? Why can't my love life be like other peoples? You meet someone, fall in love, get married and have children. But not me, nope I have two brothers that have ripped my soul in two." The tears turned into heavy sobs that wracked her thin frame.

Inuyasha reached out to her and tried to pull her up "Kagome come up here. Lay next to me, it's going to be ok. Come on, please." She pulled herself up and crawled next to him. She buried her head into the side of his arm and continued to sob. "Kagome what makes you think those so called other people don't have their own issues that would make yours look simple?"

She huffed out a small laugh and said "I highly doubt that." Inuyasha reached over to her night stand and grabbed a box of tissues and handed them to her. "Look Kag's. I want you to know that I do love you but I have nothing to give you. I told you once that to show you how much I loved you I would leave you alone to create a life with Sesh. I think I should keep that promise. Especially now." He let out a shaky breath and reached out to pull her to him.

She gladly rolled into him and he wrapped his arms around her shoulders. " My brother can protect you, give you everything you need or want. He is strong, smart, rich and he loves you. He can protect you and keep you safe. I want you to go to him. I need to know you are safe. No matter what happens to me. You need a real life with someone who can take care of you. Not a stupid renegade criminal who probably will never have a life again. I am sorry Kagome." He bent in and kissed her forehead.

Suddenly there was a loud crash in the living room causing Inuyasha and Kagome to jump up with a start. Inuyasha grabbed his chest from the pain at the quick movement. Two men dressed in black came running into the bedroom yielding guns and yelling. The smaller of the two was telling the much larger one to grab the girl. Yelling something about her being a priestess and the one he wanted. Inuyasha got up and clawed the larger man trying to keep him from Kagome. The smaller one took the butt of his gun and slammed it into the wound in Inuyasha's chest causing him to cough up blood and fall to the floor. The last thing he heard was Kagome screaming his name.

Inuyasha woke the next morning to Sesshomaru calling his name and shaking his shoulder. "Inuyasha, wake up. What happened? Where is Kagome?" Inuyasha coughed up some more blood and rolled over onto his back. Sesshomaru pulled him up into a sitting position and scanned his bandage which was caked with dried blood.

"Two guys busted in and took her. They were shouting something about her being a priestess and they took her. I couldn't stop them. One of them slammed his gun into my wound and I couldn't breath. Sessh what are we going to do?" Sesshomaru's eyes turned dark and he continued to work on Inuyasha's wound.

"Did you say priestess?" Inuyasha shook his head in response. "Inuyasha I think we should go see Father. I think this is bigger than we thought." He leaned over Inuyasha and started to tend to his wounds. "Inuyasha I hope she's ok, I really have fallen for her." He never looked up from working on Inuyasha's wounds.

"I know Sesh, I know you do. Lets go."
