~One Month Ago~

"Ri-cchan Ri-cchan!" Uruka bursted through the door of the udon shop with a large smile plastered across her face. "Did you hear the news? We're definitely going together right?!" The girl asked excitedly.

Rizu, with a controlled demeanor, placed an empty bowl on the bar top as her usual form of greeting for customers. "Hi Uruka-san. I'm not sure what you're referring to, but here, have some udon."

Uruka pouted at the rather clueless reaction. "Oh come on, you definitely do! It's one of the most exciting things to come up in our lives lately!"

The shorter girl mulled over the words before starting in realization. "Oh. If you're talking about emotions of excitement then that must mean you're referring to the wedding. I had already committed to attending as soon as I got the invitation."

Uruka's enthusiasm rose at that. "Perfect! Since we'll be going together, we need to go shopping for our outfits together too! You should invite Sawako-cchan as well!"

"I believe we would need Fumino's help with her fashion taste if we want to make the most out of our appearance."

"No, we can't tell her! The whole point is to surprise her without our own outfits at the wedding! Oh! On that note, do you know what you're going to bring as a gift?" Uruka continued in her typical chaotic fashion.

The hesitation that followed was comically nonexistent.

"Udon."

Uruka slapped her forehead in exasperation. "AH! Why did I even ask?! Of course I knew that already..."

"Would you like some too?"

The girl looked down at the bowl in front of her that was previously empty, which was now filled to the brim with piping hot broth and noodles.

A sigh escaped her lips.

"You're lucky that I'm hungry right now."

"Yo."

Kirisu halted in the middle of her exit of the Ichinose high school courtyard, turning in the direction of the rather familiar voice. Recognition adorned her features as she took in the face in question.

"Kominami-san. I thought I told you not to visit when school hours are still ongoing." The older woman said chastisingly.

"Please, this is like the first time I've visited in months," Asumi replied with a smirk. "And is that really an excuse when you're clearly on the way walking home?"

Kirisu averted her gaze. "Irrelevant. The campus isn't closed yet. I just happened to be done for the day," she insisted with stubborness. "School hours are still ongoing."

"Jeez…still as uptight as usual. Sorry, but you're just going to have to make an exception for me." Asumi made her way to the woman's side just as stubbornly, matching her stride along the walkway.

"Doesn't seem like you ever give me a choice," Kirisu mumbled.

Truthfully, she really didn't mind the attention from the girl. It wasn't often that she had company on her walks home.

But there was no way she would ever admit the preference to the girl outloud…

"Did you get the invitation?" Asumi asked as soon as they began walking.

A pause.

"I did."

"And?"

Another pause.

"I-I'm going of course…"

"Why so shy about it?"

"Nonsense!" Kirisu exclaimed, much more flustered with her response this time. "I-I'm not shy about it at all!"

This earned a raucous laugh from the younger girl. "No need to hide it. I know you're just excited because it's those two that invited you," Asumi emphasized.

Kirisu's blush deepened, struggling to come up with a reasonable retort. "T-Then what about yourself?!" She said in an attempt at changing the spotlight. "You can't tell me that you're not looking forward to it too!"

"I am. But unlike you, I can actually admit that those two are my favorite two people to be around."

"I…can admit it too…"

Asumi snickered.

"And what about me? Where do I rank on that list?"

"A work in progress." Kirisu muttered.

It was enough to earn a satisfied smile from the younger girl.

"I'll take it."

"Yo!" A hearty voice rang out through a certain phone speaker.

"Omori…" Haruma groaned tiredly, having been interrupted from his attempts at getting an early night's rest. "It's so late. I got work tomorrow morning, remember?"

"I know I know, but I just had to call to make sure you knew! When I heard the news I just knew I had to call you as soon as I could. I mean…it's finally happening, man!" Omori exclaimed.

Haruma sighed, but it didn't take long for his grumpiness to be overtaken by hints of fondness. "You know…usually I would be really mad at you for calling at this hour…but since I know now that it's in regards to that…I'll forgive you."

Omori laughed loudly. "I'm glad we got our invitations early…but I guess we are his best friends. If I found out that we weren't amongst the first on his VIP list, I would've headed over to his place right now to deck him." Another boisterous laugh emitted through the speaker. "He really has grown hasn't he? Who would've thought he would be the first one to make it out of us?"

"I mean…as hopeless as he is when it comes to romance, as soon as I saw the bond that those two really share…I saw this result coming a mile away," Haruma reasoned rather placidly.

"I suppose you're right, but that sure doesn't mean I'm not jealous…"

A light chuckle escaped Haruma's lips at the palpable pout in his friend's voice. "We'll just have to continue to strive to have a relationship just like that I suppose…though I can't see myself marrying my girlfriend like that anytime soon."

"Augh! Same! As soon as I see him at the wedding, I'm going to punch him in the face for leaving us behind like that."

"I'm sure you'll get tossed out immediately if you do that," he warned.

"It's okay. I'll tell them that you're my accomplice."

Haruma snorted. "Unlike you, I do have some sense of civility."

"You sure about that?"

He sighed.

"Maybe I'll give him a slap or two."

With all too amiable familiarity, Omori erupted into laughter.

"Now that's what I'm talking about."

"Fumi-chan!" Hanae said with positive surprise at her arrival at the door.

"Big Sis Fumino!" Mizuki, Hazuki, and Kazuki followed with simultaneous attacks in the form of affectionate hugs, quickly earning a bright giggle from her in reply.

"Hey you guys! It's so good to see you all."

"What are you doing back on a weekday, sweetheart? Are you not together with Nariyuki?" Hanae asked curiously, the other three of the family also looking to her with questioning eyes.

Fumino smiled softly. "Nariyuki stayed late to help his class with supplemental lessons today, so I could tell he was feeling a little bit tired after work. I may have insisted that he rest and not come with me tonight," she explained sheepishly.

In a very in sync fashion, Hanae and Mizuki's expressions softened at the explanation. "It's not a surprise to me anymore, but that's so very sweet of you, Sis." Mizuki said as she tightened her hold around her arm. "Is there a reason that you decided to come back today though?"

"Is it because you came to play with us?!" Hazuki and Kazuki asked animatedly.

Fumino giggled at the two's excitement, endeared to a fault. "Don't worry, I'll be more than happy to take you two to the park later…but…that's not the reason why I came back."

"Then what is it?" All four of them asked together.

"I…sent out the last invitation together with Nariyuki yesterday…but there's still five more on the list that I haven't quite done yet. I wanted to save it for last…and I wanted to ask in person since these are the people most dearest to us. I already got one of them done when I stopped by my father's place earlier, and so that just leaves the last four people."

There was a brief silence, as a light blush filled Fumino's cheeks.

"I…know it's a bit on the earlier side of things…but…Nariyuki and I both feel the same way about it. Even though it's early…even though people may think that it's rather soon for how young we are…we both know…that just the way we are…there's nothing more in the world that we're both ready for…than this."

"So…i-if you guys are okay with it…"

Her eyes met all of theirs gently…

And a warm and loving request conveyed itself fully.

"Will you all come to our wedding this spring?"

"..."

For how often the household demonstrated instances of noisiness, the moment of silence that followed arrived all too nerve-wracking for Fumino.

But as seldom as those moments were…

They would always end in this same heartfelt manner.

Hanae, Mizuki, Kazuki, and Hazuki ran up to her…

And hugged her with all the affection that they could muster.

"You know there's only one answer that we could ever give you for that, sweetheart." Hanae said lovingly.

A laugh filled with tearful emotion escaped her lips. She buried herself deeply into the warmth enveloping her, smiling gratefully through the serenity that came with the blessed moment.

"I hope you know that since you're here that you are most certainly staying for dinner tonight," Hanae added.

Fumino's eyes rose from their embrace. "Only if you let Mizuki and I help with preparing the ingredients," she countered with a smile.

Hanae laughed fully.

And beamed wholeheartedly in reply.

"An all lady's kitchen…that sounds wonderful."

~Present~

The courtyard of the chapel was abloom with a profusion of flowers and cherry blossoms. Despite the warmth of the early sun, the cool spring breeze extended well throughout the entirety of the hall, creating refreshingly aromatic and chilled breezes whenever the wind passed through - much to the delight of all attending.

The venue was absolutely buzzing in anticipation.

Yet even with the unending chatter in the main hall, the peak of eventfulness somehow made its way to one of the most private of waiting rooms.

"Oh my goodness…" Uruka openly gawked.

"Wow…" Asumi added just as visibly awestruck.

"You're so beautiful, Fumino…" Rizu said in awe, completely speechless.

"…" A starstruck and wide eyed stare was the only thing that Kirisu was able to offer.

"You guys…" Fumino blushed heavily at every single reaction given to her." Asada-san still needs to finish up my hair. For that matter…how did you guys even get in here?"

"You're telling me that this is not even the final product?!" Uruka practically yelled. "You're freaking drop dead gorgeous Fumino-cchi! Can you run away with me and marry me instead?"

Asumi nodded, her usual teasing nature replaced with genuine wonderment. "I'll add to that request. You're really making me question myself, Furuhashi."

"You're so beautiful, Fumino…" Rizu repeated her previous sentiment with even more admiration this time, and Kirisu could only nod blushfully to add to her silent demeanor.

Fumino sighed before shaking her head affectionately.

"Jeez…and now you guys won't even be surprised by the dress anymore…" She said with a pout.

"It's okay!" Uruka assured her. "I read up on an article for western weddings, and apparently over there the bride has a selected group of helpers called bridesmaids that get to spend time with the bride before the ceremony! So we're just like that!"

Asumi laughed at the reasoning. "Isn't the point for the bride to select that group? Being really presumptuous here, aren't ya, Takemoto-san?"

"For the purpose of record keeping it was her idea to drag us all back here, Fumino." Rizu added placidly.

"Rizu-rin!" Uruka exclaimed in embarrassment. "Why would you throw me under the bus like that?!"

The exchange was just simply too endearing, and Fumino bursted into bubbly laughter at the sight of all of it. Her eyes softened, and quickly enough, gratefulness rose wholeheartedly into her gaze.

"Thank you all…for coming today." She said with nearly a whisper. "It really means so much to both me and Nariyuki."

"You think any of us would dare try to miss this?" Asumi said with a chuckle as the other three smiled brightly in agreement. "It's the most anticipated event that any of us could hope to be a part of. Isn't that right, Sensei?"

The eldest of the group perked up in attention, silently cursing the purple haired girl for the teasing grin being directed her way. Despite her embarrassment however, the woman nodded gently.

"Indeed. I would be lying if I said I wasn't terribly excited to be invited here today…"

And then…

"Especially since it's from one of my dearest friends…"

Fumino stared, taking in the tentative blush on the woman's face, but surely enough…

Her reply was filled with nothing but wholeheartedness.

"You gave me your blessing, remember? Of course I would invite you, Sensei…"

"..."

The woman's lips curled…

And her smile matched with knowing amiability.

"You know…" Asumi crossed her arms. "Usually I would be petty about you two being close, but I'll let you have this one today, Furuhashi. I'll have her make it up to me by taking shots for me at the party later."

"A-Absolutely not!" Kirisu retorted.

"What if I said that they were toasts for Fumino and Nariyuki." Asumi returned with a smirk.

"I-"

The older woman found herself at checkmate.

"T-Then I would consider it…"

All of them erupted into laughter at that, hilarity enveloping the room with ease. There was no doubt that they would have continued endlessly with their merriment, but their chatter was cut short when a certain figure walked into the room.

"Fumino." Reiji interrupted stolidly. "The ceremony is about to start. I would suggest you let Asada-san finish wrapping up whatever she needs to finish for you."

Fumino nodded, smiling appreciatively at the reminder. "Thank you father." Her gaze then shifted to her friends apologetically. "I'm sorry you guys, but I should really let Asada-San finish making the final touches on my hair."

"Boo…I wanted to see what the final product looks like…" Uruka whined with a pout, but Asumi promptly grabbed the girl by the arm, dragging her away towards the exit of the room.

"You'll get your turn just like everyone else. Come on." Her senpai looked to her one last time with a wink. "We'll see you in a bit, miss gorgeous."

Fumino blushed but nodded with a smile, and with that, her four friends left the room. Her hair stylist reentered, making her way next to her to finish the final adjustments to her appearance.

Throughout it all, Reiji remained by her side.

"Those are your friends?" The man asked.

Fumino perked up at the gruff voice, but quickly smiled in reply. "Mhm, from Ichinose. We've all stayed really close after graduation."

"They seem like good people."

The softness made its way into her eyes effortlessly at the comment.

"They really are…" She whispered.

The next minutes passed without trouble as her stylist made the final adjustments to her hair, and once it was complete, the woman gave her the thumbs up for its completion. She thanked the woman immensely, who, much to her chagrin, assured her that it was more than her pleasure to have her as one of her 'masterpieces'.

She rose from her seat, and evaluated herself in front of the mirror.

She was nervous.

Yet…

Her heart was calm…

Pulsating with all the vim that she was prepared for.

"Are you ready?" Reiji asked.

She nodded, smiling brightly as she laced her arm into his proffered one.

Readiness was the only feeling she could ever express for this moment.

"Yeah…"

They made their way together towards the exit of the room, but not before Reiji stopped at the last step.

"I suppose I should probably say this now but…."

A pause.

And then…

"You look beautiful…even more than your mother," he finally said.

Shyness…but also very clear jubilation.

They filled Fumino's smile to completion.

"Are you sure she wouldn't be mad at you for saying that?" She asked playfully.

Reiji scoffed, but it quickly turned into an honest smile.

"I'm sure she would be more than proud."

*pomf*

And that was all she needed to hear to hug the man with all the warmth to share.

"Though…"

"She probably would first slap me for it." He admitted.

Fumino laughed well and fully at that.

"Oh my gosh Nariyuki stop shaking your knee! We know how nervous you are, but you're not making things any easier for Hanaki-san to finish up with your hair!" Mizuki chastised.

"S-Sorry…"

The younger girl sighed. "Are you sure you're going to be okay up there? I'm sure you wouldn't, but you're not going to mess up during your vows are you?" His sister asked with a skeptical raise of an eyebrow.

"Of course not…I just…"

His gaze averted before an eventual smile of shyness reached his lips.

"I just can't wait to see…how beautiful Furuhashi will look up there in her dress…"

Mizuki rolled her eyes. "Of course she's going to look absolutely gorgeous, duh. Now that I think about it, I can totally see you spacing out during your vows from just gawking at her appearance, so I retract my previous statement."

"Not exactly the best encouragement there, Mizuki…"

"Wasn't meant to be."

Nariyuki laughed softly, and Mizuki couldn't help but smile too.

"But…" He continued. "I know I'll be just fine up there."

"Because no matter what…"

"I know that there's nothing in the world that we're both ready for…than this."

Resoluteness. Softness. It was all there behind her brother's earnest words…but it was the unmistakable familiarity of the statement that had Mizuki's eyes shoot wide.

Afterall…

Even though it's early…even though people may think that it's rather soon for how young we are…we both know…that just the way we are…there's nothing more in the world that we're both ready for…than this.

It was the exact same sentiment…that she had heard from Fumino just not long ago.

Her features were consumed with fondness in an instant.

"Jeez…" She shook her head affectionately. "If you asked me this five years ago…I never would've expected myself to say this…"

A pause.

She smiled earnestly.

"But I'm more than ready too. To see my big brother spend the rest of his life with someone who loves him…just the way he is…and believes in him with everything in her heart…"

"I'm ready to see you and Big Sis Fumino get married." She finished with undeniable firmness.

He stared, an eternity's time seemingly passing over them, but the inevitable gratitude rose fully into Nariyuki's smile.

"I guess you'll finally be able to call her that officially." He said with a tease.

"I can't wait…" Mizuki beamed.

A silence filled with pleasantness fell over them.

Until…

"Ahem."

..!

"M-Mom! How long have you been standing there?!" Nariyuki exclaimed with a more than red face.

"Long enough." Hanae answered cheekily. "It's about time for the ceremony to start. Hazuki and Kazuki are getting a little bit too restless for me to keep a watch over…"

"We want to see Big Sis Fumino and Big Brother kiss already!"

"That doesn't come until the end of the ceremony, you two." Mizuki explained.

"Ehhhhhh?!" Hazuki and Kazuki whined, and the oldest of the sisters rolled her eyes. Realizing that it was now her turn to babysit the two, the brown haired girl grabbed a hold of the two's hands and ushered them away from the scene, all the while earning the amused chuckle of Nariyuki.

Once after, Hanae walked over to his side and garnered his undivided attention.

The woman laced their arms together and smiled gently.

"I'm so proud of you sweetheart."

Nariyuki smiled softly.

"Thank you, Mom…"

"And not just for this…not just because I get to see my eldest son finally get married." The woman continued, causing Nariyuki's eyes to widen. "I'm proud of you for everything, Nariyuki…for living your life true to yourself. For being the very person…that only you can be. Watching you grow together with Fumi-chan. Watching you find that belief in yourself more and more…every single day by her side. Just like how she's told you so wonderfully before..."

"I'm so proud of you…for being you."

His eyes refused to do anything but remain wide, taking in the familiar sentiment in the only way he knew how.

Speechlessly.

"And I'm sure…that if your father were here now…"

"He would feel the exact same way." She whispered.

His heart ached…painfully.

Yet…despite the heaviness that came.

It was an unmistakable feeling of hope that found its way to his heart at the end of it all.

"Mom…"

"So go out there…and continue to support each other to the fullest like you two always have."

The pride and trust shone through her eyes…

Complete and faithful.

"Go love our Fumi-chan…with everything you've got," she finished.

Nariyuki felt the emotion peak in his chest then…and he knew that it was much too early to let it get the better of him. But it was beyond what he was capable of, and he couldn't hold back the wateriness from forming in his throat. Afterall, his mother was proud. Proud of him for living his very life true to himself.

And he was so very grateful…that he had met that someone that had saved him…

Supporting and believing in the person…

That only he himself could be.

He smiled both excitedly and tearfully.

"Yes mam..."

"Hello folks! We will be starting real soon, so please make your way to your seats as quickly as you can!" Amada-san ushered excitedly at the front of the altar until the guests shuffled to their spots. It wasn't very often that such an energetic and somewhat chaotic individual would be designated to lead a wedding ceremony, but Fumino and Nariyuki had been more than happy to take up the woman's offer to be the first client in her brand new wedding officiant business, especially with how much she had done for them in helping them find their first apartment together. At this point it was no surprise that the entrepreneur had undertaken yet again an entirely new enterprise, but they were close enough to her where it wasn't even a concern in the first place. Truly there was no real restriction to who could lead a wedding ceremony, so long as the groom and bride agreed to it.

And if the animation on her face was any indication, Nariyuki was sure that she was more than prepared for the task.

Amada nodded to a staff member in the wings, who smiled and hurried off behind the scenes, making her way to where Nariyuki awaited.

She nodded at him, and he took a shaky breath.

It was finally time.

A hush fell over the courtyard and the soft music began to play. Nariyuki appeared under the large ornate arch that preceded the aisle. The crowd's eyes fell to him as he took his first steps towards the altar. He recognized so many faces…as was to be expected. But even with his siblings and mother calling out to him, even with Omori, Haruma, Uruka, Rizu, Asumi, Kirisu, and so many of his friends and acquaintances waving at him, he could hardly return their acknowledgements over the pounding that was his all too nervous heart.

Everyone waslooking at him.

In that moment Nariyuki realized that being the very first person to walk during the procession was far more momentous than he was prepared for. Usually it would have been Fumino's mother, but it was clear that person wouldn't be physically in attendance. Thus, that responsibility had transitioned to him. He had a month of being the center of attention with his start at Kokasu leading his class, but the pressure he felt now seemed to come less from the crowd that was staring at him, but rather a sole individual who hadn't yet made their appearance yet. Amada-san waited for him at the altar, smiling encouragingly, and Nariyuki smiled back appreciatively.

He reached the altar steps and mounted them with as much steadiness as he could, bowing his head in respect to their officiant. Amada-san then turned to give another eager nod to the same staff member from before, who in the same manner, went to signal the next in line to walk down the aisle.

Which in this case…were the last two remaining people for the ceremony.

This was it.

His brown eyes drifted to the aisle, and his gaze centered on the arch. He squared his shoulders and resolutely tried to swallow down the knot in his throat, but it didn't seem to want to leave.

Then the gentle strains of music began to play again, and Nariyuki had no choice. He forced his courage to fruition from wherever it seemed to hide. His eyes didn't fail to leave the end of the aisle for a moment, and though he wasn't aware of it, the crowd's gaze reached the same destination as his own.

Fumino, with Reiji at her side, stepped out from under the wedding arch.

And Nariyuki's breath caught in his throat with no escape.

Beautiful. Gorgeous. Lovely. There were too many words that could've defined the image that presented itself in the aisle. His mind decided on a new one because he had already used up his entire vocabulary describing her every single day of their lives thus far. It was a word that he himself happened to have discovered when he was planning his english curriculum for his class just the other day.

She was resplendent.

The soft white of her dress wrapped snug around her chest leaving her delicate shoulders and collarbones daringly bare, then hugged the curve of her waist before billowing out in a lengthy, elegant train. The glow of the spring daylight seemed to highlight her beautiful features even more, a perfect compliment to the clean ivory of her dress, and the arrangement of crocus flowers woven into the silky blue bun shaded her eyes that gentle gold that he loved so much.

But what truly captured his attention…was Fumino's lips - curved upwards in a smile that spoke to him all too wonderfully with a certain emotion. Their eyes met, and her smile grew even further, and Nariyuki felt his own lips curve upwards with the resonated feeling in all its everlasting fervor.

Hope.

"Nariyuki Yuiga." The gruff utterance of his name was enough to snap him out of his trance and he quickly looked to Reiji in embarrassment. Before he had even realized it, Fumino had already made her way down the aisle, and the girl's father now awaited beside her at the stairs of the altar for the next step of the ceremony.

The next step…that was his to complete.

His gaze met Reiji's.

And the man nodded with a rare but earnest smile.

He nodded…

And smiled fully too.

Fumino let go of Reiji's arm, and Nariyuki extended a hand for the girl to take. She took it, and happily joined him on the altar.

And once again…like every moment before…

The world faded away.

Till only the two of them remained.

"Furuhashi…"

"Nariyuki…"

"I always say…that you look beautiful, but I don't think anything could ever describe just how…perfect…you look today..."

Fumino blushed shyly. Her eyes were tender and shining and so warm, and now that she was this close, there was no chance for his heart to stop itself from swelling with ardor. Their fingers naturally twined together, fitting and intimate.

Her eyes bore even deeper into his with her reply.

"Then I guess I'm not alone when I say…that you look so perfectly handsome." She whispered.

Nariyuki practically melted, words failing him. It never changed. Fumino's sincerity never ceased to put him to stillness. He tightened his grip, and he felt a huge desire to close the distance between them already.

He at least had the cognizance to remember that there was still an entire invocation before he could proceed with that urge.

"Are you two ready?" Amada-san asked with a whisper so that only the two of them could hear.

The simultaneous smile and squeeze of their hands was all that was needed.

"We're ready." They said in unison, never once breaking their trustful gaze from each other.

And with the connected beating of their hearts…

"Then let's get started!"

It began.

"Family and friends! Thank you all for coming today to share in this wonderful occasion! Today we are here together to unite Fumino Furuhashi and Nariyuki Yuiga in marriage. I want to start off by giving my sincere appreciation to these two for having me be a part of this special moment for them. They could have very easily chosen a much more qualified representative to lead their ceremony, but they trusted to have someone very new to the business to fill that role today, and I couldn't be any more honored for that opportunity. I've known these two for many many years. From family connections, to being regulars at my businesses, to simply being that of people that I can call my friends…I'm sure that if any of you have witnessed these two care for another the way that I have then you surely have an understanding as to why I find myself without words to describe it. I guess you can call this a somewhat improper introduction, but in this past month, I've met with numerous of their friends and family to help give me a further understanding of their relationship, but no matter who I have talked to…I have come to the same conclusion with everyone…that there truly is…no real way to express their love into words."

Amada-san finally broke her attention from their audience…and looked towards the two of them with a knowing smile.

"Because…truly…it is only through each other…that such a precious love can be understood," she said with finality.

Nariyuki and Fumino felt laughter bubble in their chest then, ultimately breaking into matching delighted smiles. It was entirely unexpected, the eloquence, and the absolute heartfeltness that came with the woman's opening speech. She had stated that she found herself without a proper introduction for their relationship, but there was no better sentiment…no better way to describe what was needed in this very moment for them now.

Yes.

All that mattered…

Was each other.

And as Amada looked to Nariyuki…prepared to utter the first words of the invocation…

"Let's begin."

He remembered it.

"Do you, Nariyuki Yuiga…"

He remembered the very first moment she had first opened his heart to him about her dream, the very first moment that he laid eyes to the belief and devotion that she held in her heart, the very first moment…that he had encountered a passion that truly spoke to him.

'I'll be remembering that promise…Sensei!'

He remembered…when he had first felt that hope.

"Take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife…"

He remembered all the days he had laid witness to the earnesty written on the girl's face, the moments as she dedicated herself to improving, practicing studiously on every single lesson he taught, never taking his time together with her for granted. He remembered when the girl had studied so hard that she had fallen sick, when she had even managed to score a perfect score on the most difficult of math exams due to her neverending effort. He remembered…when she overcame the most painful of doubts, the tears…but also the unwavering strength in her eyes as she stood up for her dream against the loneliness and pain that had been her father's heartbreaking abuse and abandonment of her.

'I'm going to listen to the love in my heart…and stand up for my dream!'

He remembered…when she had given him that courage.

"To live together in matrimony…"

He remembered the trusting affirmation in her eyes as he took the first scary step towards an education degree, the words of heartfelt belief for his commitment to the very feelings in his heart that she had inspired him to confront. He remembered her encouragement whenever he had faltered moving forward, her faith against those who spoke against his change. He remembered all the days they had studied together, the feelings of mutual achievement and unbreakable trust as they relished in the steps that they took closer and closer to their goal towards entrance exams. He remembered how they had both aced them together, how proud she had been of him, and how happy she was that he would finally be able to do the things that were so very true to his heart. He remembered how through it all…he had still doubted himself…that perhaps he wasn't moving forward…and all the conviction he felt…was simply him remaining behind his father's shadow.

'You're great the way you are, Nariyuki!'

He remembered…how she had saved him…from that hopelessness.

"To love her…"

He remembered the beautiful love in her eyes as she confessed his wholehearted love for him, the unending relief in his heart as he had received it, and the tears that fell so heartfeltly from her eyes as he bared his feelings in return. He remembered the unwavering hope as they promised to stay together, to always believe in each other like they always had…to always support each other like they always had. He remembered their first kiss, how despite being interrupted so many times, that the understanding once it happened was seamless….that their bond was so much deeper than anything else they could ever comprehend…more precious than anything anyone could ever hope to know.

'You're the person I love most…in the whole entire world!"

He remembered…that bliss…from forever having each other to cherish.

"Comfort her…"

He remembered the uncertainty when he first told her about the dream he had discovered for himself, the scariness but also the powerful excitement he felt when he looked towards that passion. He remembered how the girl had not hesitated in the slightest to instill her wonderful belief in him, uplifted him as she told him just how beautiful his dream was to her, time and time again as they moved forward in university. He remembered the baby steps and the big steps, how she had always been there for each and every one, always reminding him just how true to her heart they were. He remembered his commitment to Kokasu, how she told him that his dream was just as important to her than her own, how he would always deserve to be himself.

'I believe in you, Nariyuki…won't you?'

He remembered that joy…as they reached as high as they could for the feelings in their heart together.

"Honor and keep her…"

He remembered the day at his father's meinichi, the hesitance but also the hope to finally let the man know about his dream. He remembered the fear of the reminiscing, the uneasiness that came with his prayers leading up to the moment. He remembered the inconceivable shock as she had appeared before him, breathless and breathtaking. He remembered the resoluteness in her voice as she spoke to his father about him, who he was to her, how much she believed in him…just the way he was. He remembered how the encouragement was everything he needed and more, how every semblance of doubt melted as he looked to his grave, the sincere passion that filled his voice as he finally…finally told his father of the dream he loved…the very person…that he himself was going to be.

'I'm so proud of him…for being able to let go of you.'

He remembered that elation…with her beside him…as he looked forward fully.

"In sickness and in health…"

He remembered all the excitement and anticipation before his interview with Kokasu, all the nights of preparation that she had encouraged him with her earnest faith in him. He remembered his confidence, his optimism, as he shared his ideals and dream with the place he yearned to begin his career in. He remembered the disappointment at the rejection, the sorrowful pain as he faced the first failure that truly cut deep into his heart. He remembered her arms around him, warm and true as she reminded him of what was most important…that failure was never the end, and that there was always a way to move forward for the things he believed in. He remembered his shock as he had been called back to the interview and was told that he would be partaking in a mentorship program, that his passion was received and that his dream had truly been heard. He remembered his unending gratefulness as he hugged her in relief, the overwhelming ardor he felt as she congratulated him.

'I know that you'll always keep pushing forward for what you believe in…'

He remembered that solace…of having her uplift him completely.

"In sorrow and in joy…"

He remembered the moments that he saw the headlights heading towards her, the desperation in his throat, the panic in his heart. He remembered his relief as he managed to push her away, knowing that for once…it was him who would at least take the fall. He remembered her alleviation as he woke from his coma, but also the hidden pain in her eyes. He remembered the trepidated tears as she woke from her nightmare, the conveyed terror of being so close to losing someone so precious to her yet again. He remembered his immediate instinct to kiss her, to remind her just how alive he was and how it was her who had blessed him with that life. He remembered her tears against his, his whispers of apology against her lips. He remembered her body…her unfathomable beauty…as he ran his touch to her with every intent of bringing her the comfort she needed. He remembered the healing in her eyes, the healing in his heart as he promised to never…ever…leave her side…no matter what the world threw at them.

'I…I can't lose you too!'

He remembered that pain…from the very thought of her suffering.

"To have and to hold, from this day forward…"

He remembered the fireworks, the stars, the illuminance as it all shined down onto them, hands held tight, eyes gazing solely and beautifully into the other's heart. He remembered the mutual eagerness, the mutual excitement, but more than anything…the mutual understanding…that there was nothing that could ever take them away from the unbreakable belief that they shared for one another. He remembered the love…the joy…as the words were expressed…the promise that was uttered from his lips. He remembered how it wasn't an expression that was new, but rather something that had always been together with them since the very start, that the reason why there was such an everlasting joy in his heart…that the reason why that time continued to stop so dearly for them…was because of just how true their love was.

He remembered that preciousness…

'Fumino Furuhashi….will you marry me?'

As he looked to make it official.

'Yes!'

"As long as you both shall live?"

He remembered it all. He felt it all.

And the brightness in his eyes…shined without any hope of being denied.

"I do..."

Amada nodded.

And she turned to Fumino.

The woman spoke again.

And Fumino's gaze never left the brown eyes that she loved so dearly…smiling in anticipation.

She remembered it.

"Do you, Fumino Furuhashi…"

She remembered the very first moment that she received his kindness, the tenderness in his eyes as she felt the comfort from being able to share the dream that she so very treasured. She remembered his devotion, his wholehearted yearning as he expressed how much he wished to see her reach it. She remembered the warmth that unfurled within her, the sense of belonging…as she came face to face a feeling that she had never ever once experienced before.

'I can't possibly ask you…to change your career path anymore…'

She remembered…when she had first met that someone…who lived so truly to his heart.

"Take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband…"

She remembered the earnesty in all of his lessons, as he put in his thought and heart to understanding the very details and principles that would most help her to improve. She remembered the proudness in his eyes, the words of admiration and encouragement that he continued to bless her with so wonderfully as that improvement came to fruition. She remembered when he first admitted it to her…that he didn't have a dream to call his own…yet the passion in his heart suggested entirely otherwise. She remembered…how with every passing day…he became that much closer to realizing it…that there was something so beautiful in his heart to reach for. She remembered how he had been right beside her as she had been driven out of her own home in order to continue to pursue her dream…as she was forced to face the memories of her father leaving her alone, the physical and emotional pain that came with the tragedy. She remembered the heartbreak in his eyes…but also…the unparalleled belief…as he desperately reminded her just how much her love for the stars meant to him.

'But no matter what anyone says…I'll support you with everything I got…for anything you want to do!'

She remembered…when he had given her that strength…to overcome the pain.

"To live together in matrimony…"

She remembered the nervousness and hope in his eyes as he told her of his hopes towards an education degree, the pride but also wholehearted fondness she felt as he was finally able to open his heart for the things he truly wanted to do. She remembered the happiness as she saw him embrace it, just how grateful she felt to have someone who never ceased to be there together with her every step of the way. She remembered all the days they had studied together, his warm care as he nursed her to good health, the feelings of wonderful accomplishment and encouragement they continuously shared with each other all the way through. She remembered the excitement in his eyes that she resonated with so much as they moved closer and closer towards acing their entrance exams together, how so very proud she was of him when they had finally done it, the intimacy as they received the excellence of their results together. She remembered the lingering doubt in his eyes as he hesitated to accept it, the fear in his eyes from what was his own painful past. She remembered the immediate pull of her heart as she reached out to hold him…to tell him how much she believed in him…to tell him just how true…his passion really was to his heart.

'Thank you…Furuhashi…'

She remembered that delight…of seeing him discover himself.

"To love him…"

She remembered the loneliness that consumed her as she realized that their time together was running out, the possibility that she would have to face her future without him. She remembered the undying relief as the doubt washed away from her soul, the full on joy that wrapped around her as they revealed their love for each other at their so very special place. She remembered the gratefulness, the brimming hope that resonated so mutually as their promise was revealed in all its heartfeltness. She remembered just how whole she felt, knowing that every moment they shared…discovering and supporting the beautiful passion in their hearts together…was meant to last in all its wonderfulness. She remembered their first kiss, that even though misfortune had found them so often in their attempts, that the message in their hearts once it happened was harmonious….that their bond was so much deeper than anything else they could ever comprehend…more precious than anything in the whole entire world.

'I love everything about you, Fumino Furuhashi!'

She remembered…that elation…from forever having each other to treasure.

"Comfort him…"

She remembered the awe that bloomed within her when he first told her about the dream he had discovered for himself, his nervousness and the immediate affirmation she felt as she let him understand…just how overjoyed…how excited she was…to see him embark on the journey for himself. She remembered all the moments that their support and love for each other's passion led them higher and higher in their joy throughout university, all the nights over the phone and the numerous weekends together where they shared what they learned, and just how thrilling it was to see how it could be applied to their next steps towards their dream. She remembered the moments before her final evaluation at her internship at the NAO, the heart pounding nervousness but the immediate comfort that filled her as his voice and words of wholehearted support reached her through the phone. She remembered his loving embrace around her as he congratulated her with all his heart. The gratefulness in her voice as she told him how it was him…who had given her the courage to reach as far as she had…how it was because of him…that she would continue to always look forward.

'Congratulations…Fumino…'

She remembered that excitement…as they reached as high as they could for the dreams that they loved.

"Honor and keep him…"

She remembered the day at his father's meinichi, the yearning to be together with him in those moments that were so very dear to him. She remembered her heavy breathing as she ran thoughtlessly after her exam to make the occasion, their eyes meeting as she arrived, the speechlessness in his expression, and the subtle doubt that attempted to hide behind the brown orbs she loved so wonderfully. She remembered how she looked to his grave, how she vowed to open her heart fully the same exact way he had for her at her mother's meinichi. She remembered the effortlessness as she spoke, just how easy it was to express just how wonderful of a person he was to her, his kindness, his wholeheartedness…his devotion to his heart. She remembered just how firm she was…to let the man know…just how much she loved him…how much she believed in him. She remembered the earnesty that filled the boy's voice as he finally broke free from the remaining chain, sharing with his father…the exact teacher…the exact person…that he himself was going to be.

'I'm happy…with being just me.'

She remembered that awe…as he looked to his future…with nothing to hold him back.

"In sickness and in health…"

She remembered her very first day at the NAO, when difficulty and unforeseen circumstances had been thrown at her without warning. She remembered the overwhelming expectations that had been set for her, the unending and difficult assignments that had been assigned to her. She remembered how through it all…that her heart didn't waver, because she was blessed with his unending faith that uplifted her as she worked through it with him at her side. She remembered the nights before his interview with Kokasu. She remembered his hope, his excitement, his beautiful passion that he expressed so wonderfully leading into it. She remembered his attempt at hiding his pain from the rejection, the earnesty and sincerity in his disappointment. She remembered how there was nothing to stop her as she embraced him, reminding him that no matter what the result was…that it didn't define the validity for his dream in the slightest…that it was just the start for him…and that she knew that he would continue to always look forward for himself. She remembered her overwhelming pride when he found out that he would be working in Kokasu's mentorship program as a prerequisite instead…how it was so fated…so deserved…that his the dream that he dedicated his entire heart to…would be heard by the ones he shared it with.

'I want to be that person for them. And any less…would be betraying the very person that has always believed and supported me…with everything in her heart…'

She remembered that bliss…of fulfilling the goals that they set for themselves together.

"In sorrow and in joy…"

She remembered the moments that his hands had pushed her away from the incoming car, the realization, the gut wrenching terror that followed. She remembered the feeling of drowning, the numbness…the familiar creeping of loneliness that ate at her consciousness as his eyes remained closed with each passing day. She remembered the euphoric relief that shook her to her core at his first moments of consciousness. She remembered how through it all…that the fear remained…that a part of her…was deathly afraid…that it was really all just a dream. She remembered how that fear consumed her that night he had returned home with her, the heavy breathing, the tears that plagued her with sorrow. She remembered his arms around her, his promising touch as he whispered the words she so needed to hear to stay grounded…that there was nothing more real…more everlasting…than the love and belief that they shared for one another. She remembered his lips on hers, his touch bringing her the pleasure and comfort that lifted the weight of fear in moments. She remembered the healing that resonated in both of their eyes, the promise that everything was going to be more than okay.

'I'll always be here with you…no matter what the world throws at us.'

She remembered that desperation…from being so close to losing him.

"To have and to hold, from this day forward…"

She remembered the wind of the field, the brightness in the starry sky, the festive roar of fireworks, fingers intertwined, eyes locked tenderly and promisingly into the other's heart. She remembered the mutual fervor, the mutual racing of their hearts, but more than anything…the mutual understanding…that there was nothing that could ever take them away from the indescribable belief that they shared. She remembered the emotion…the joy…as the words were expressed…the promise that was uttered from his lips. She remembered how it wasn't an expression that was new, but rather something that had always been together with them since the very start, that the reason why there was such an insurmountable joy in her heart…that the reason that time continued to stop so promisingly for them…was because of just how true their love was.

She remembered that preciousness…

'Fumino Furuhashi…will you marry me?'

As she looked to make it official.

'Yes!'

"As long as you both shall live?"

She remembered it all. She felt it all.

And the avidity poured into her soul…without anything to hold her back.

"I do…" She whispered.

Yes.

For these two…there truly was no elaboration that could be expressed…by any one of their friends or family…by any other person in the world for that matter.

Because it didn't need to be.

For Fumino Furuhashi and Nariyuki Yuiga…

Their love…their marriage…was a promise that went beyond a time of a designated event. It was a connection that existed beyond the trappings of the world, beyond the often jaded views of relationships and commitment, beyond even the most earnest attempts at language.

It was a single and shared hope…a trust…a cherishment…

That could never be replicated.

"Then…by the power invested in me."

And right now…in this timeless moment…even in the broadest of daylight…the stars in the sky were clear; the sun, proximal constellations, every celestial point in existence…

Watching over them with a promise.

Fated…

And whole.

"I now pronounce you…"

This…

"From now on…" Nariyuki whispered.

"We'll always be here…" Fumino whispered back.

And then together.

"To support each other."

"Husband and wife!" Amada shouted.

This…was right.

They rushed forward together, and their lips met in a crash.

There were cheers.

Every one of their family…every one of their friends…

All of them were crying…Uruka, Rizu, Asumi, and Kirisu in particular…the ones who had witnessed their love from the start firsthand…the ones who understood fully that no self-regarding fantasy…no instances of even the most adored of romances…could ever compare to the insurmountable bond that was their true and wholehearted support for each other…

Together…they shouted their names in unison.

It was deafening.

Yet…

Neither Fumino nor Nariyuki could hear anything.

It was only their embraced lips…the tears that fell in succession along their cheeks...it was only the joyful bliss that bursted from within them…their loving touch that spoke of the truth that now stood before them.

It was only the shared contentment…of their precious and most dearest promise…

'The promise that we made…to support each other…'

Finally fulfilled.

Their kiss broke after what was a seemingly endless duration, but even with their eventual need for oxygen, their foreheads remained attached, eyes never ever leaving each other's passionate gaze along with their wide smiles that refused to do anything but grow. They giggled in ardent unison, nuzzling each other lovingly, not letting a single attometer come between them. They truly and utterly…forgot where they were entirely.

Amada saw all of this, and grinned so very gleefully…but even so…the procession had to reach its conclusion…and it was her job to make sure that it got there. The woman leaned in close to them and cleared her throat.

"I really really hate to interrupt…but you two do realize that you still have to walk back down the aisle, right?" She whispered cheekily.

At that, Fumino and Nariyuki broke apart.

Blushing and smiling in embarrassment.

"Did you forget too?" She asked with a whisper.

He nodded sheepishly. "I did…"

The notion was nothing short of delightful, and the two of them broke into a heap of heartfelt and unadulterated laughter. Their hands held tight, and in an identical pace, they made their way down the aisle towards the crowd, eyes still not once leaving the other's gaze in the slightest.

Until…

"Big Sis Fumino!"

A familiar shout of two high pitched voices was enough to call both of their attentions.

It was Hazuki and Kazuki…with a bouquet of flowers being waved in their hands.

"Oh!" Fumino perked up in realization.

"The wedding bouquet…" Nariyuki said in remembrance.

Evidently…

They had completely forgotten this step of the procession as well.

Nariyuki squeezed her hand encouragingly, and Fumino nodded with a smile, silently promising to return to his side shortly.

As if there was any doubt.

"Here you go, Sis!" Hazuki and Kazuki said eagerly, proudly embracing their role as the flower holders as she made her way to their section of seats. She giggled lovingly, taking the proffered bouquet into her grasp, and leaned forward to place a gentle kiss on the two twin's cheeks.

"Thank you, you two…" She whispered, and Hazuki and Kazuki cheered brightly in reply.

Her gaze then shifted to the other two members of the family, who were looking at her with their own loving smiles.

She closed the distance between Hanae and Mizuki, giving them the same adoring kiss on the cheek.

"Congratulations, Dear…" Hanae said gently.

"We love you, Sis…" Mizuki whispered joyfully.

Fumino hugged them tightly.

"I love you all too…"

And then finally…

Of course…

Her eyes met her father's in the row across.

Reiji nodded with a smile.

And to him…

He probably thought that was all that needed to be done.

Fumino didn't let it end with that.

She ran to his side…

"..!"

And kissed him on the cheek too.

"I love you, Father…" She whispered.

Reiji stared, his throat tightening…a single tear forming in the corner of his eyes.

He smiled wide and fully.

"I love you too, Fumino..."

The girl hugged him so very firmly, sharing one last smile together before she made her way back to the aisle.

Nariyuki once again stood before her…eyes meeting hers.

And his smile was promising, beautiful and eager.

"Are you ready?" He asked, elbow offered in invitation.

She beamed, and interlaced their arms assuredly.

Bringing them back…to exactly where they belonged.

"Always."

Bringing them back to exactly…

How they had always been.

Together.

Wedding ceremonies were much more lively then she remembered.

As Fumino and Nariyuki finally kissed, the whole entire venue erupted into a raucous cheer, resonating with a shared joy that had no hope of ever being matched by any other crowd. She certainly didn't remember there being this much excitement and festivity in the air for her wedding.

Though she would be lying if she said wasn't smiling from ear to ear, proud and fervid tears forming at the edge of her eyes.

Afterall…

Her daughter was getting married.

"She's so beautiful. Do you think it was more of my genes or yours?"

The man beside her couldn't hear her playfulness, but that was just fine. Such was the way of being a wandering spirit. She wasn't physically there with him, but their feelings in their hearts couldn't be any more in tune, and when Fumino walked over to Reiji after receiving her bouquet, when her daughter leaned up to kiss the man on the cheek, hugging him with genuine and heartfelt affection…she placed her hand on his shoulder, and squeezed pridefully.

Fumino…

This beautiful young woman…who had been left all alone…who overcame the grief and pain of loss and tragic abandonment, facing the entire world with all the strength imaginable…who never ever gave up on the love in her heart and the wholehearted dream that she believed in.

She was heading for the future…that she so wonderfully paved with her heart…

With the very person…

Who lived just as truly to his.

"Look at her go, Reiji…"

And together Fumino and Nariyuki did, back down the arch where it began, and through it all, the cheers of the crowd didn't waver. As she turned her head to follow them however, her eyes were suddenly drawn to the row of seats across where the family members of the groom stood.

There was someone there.

Well…of course there were people there, but that wasn't her aim of emphasis. There was another presence that she hadn't noticed earlier…similar…to hers. Next to where Nariyuki's mother, Hanae stood, was a male figure, who had his arm placed on the woman's shoulder…identically to how she had hers over Reiji's. The figure must have felt her gaze on him, because in the next moment, his head turned, and their eyes met.

And unlike everyone else in the chapel…there was an actual demonstration of acknowledgement in his eyes.

He could see her too.

To make sure she wasn't imagining it…she waved at him to confirm, and the man waved back promptly. After a few more moments of apparent disbelief, they met each other halfway with brimming curiosity.

"Wow, you can actually see me?" She said, still unsure if her eyes were deceiving her.

The man chuckled heartily. "I'm just as surprised. This is the first time where I've noticed another spirit while being in the real world. Did you just become one?"

"Not at all! I've been like this for a while. I'm here today because my daughter just got married!" She explained.

The man laughed again, smiling mirthfully. "What a coincidence. My eldest son just got married too. It's been a long time coming, so I've just been struggling to contain my excitement for the day."

"You can say that again. I've been watching my daughter this entire time, and the excitement leading up to today was beyond what I can describe..." She trailed off dreamily.

The man looked to her with an empathetic look.

"You must be really proud."

She nodded with a soft smile. "I am, so very much…"

"But…"

Her expression fell despite her previous sentiments of pride. "I also…feel so terribly sorry for her. My daughter…I…" She struggled to not tear up at the recollection. "I left her alone…she didn't have anyone at all to support her for so long. I could have never predicted…that everything would fall apart so tragically…that my husband would lose his way so sorrowfully after my passing. But I also could have never predicted…that my daughter would be so strong…and so brave. That even after being abandoned…that even after being hurt so undeservedly…she never…ever…stopped believing in herself. The dream that she loved…the aspects of life that she shouldn't have had to discover alone…she faced all of it with a hopeful smile. I'm so proud of her…for never straying away from her heart…"

"But…more than anything…"

She smiled so very tenderly.

"I'm so relieved…that she found someone…that also lives so true to his," she continued. "Her husband…is such a kind boy…so very sincere. He believes in her…everything that she loves…everything that she works for…and matches every ounce of her dedication with his own wholehearted love and passion. From the very first day that they met…no matter what…he was always by her side…reaching for what they believed in one step at a time."

In that moment, the gratitude in her eyes was clearer than any crystal.

"I'm just so grateful…that such a beautiful and wonderful person…is the one that saved her from the loneliness I left her with," she finished gently.

The man smiled.

"They sound like a lovely couple."

"They are…"

A brief pause found them, but it was quickly put aside as the man spoke to break it.

"It really just is coincidence after coincidence. Your daughter sounds just like my son's wife."

She started at that, attention locked on the man as he evidently began his turn of sharing. "My son was never much of a talented person. It was quite the opposite actually, he was really mediocre at everything. I guess that was the biggest difference between him and I, it was that I always felt like I was made to be a teacher, yet he clearly wasn't." He smiled in reminiscence. "Not only did I enjoy being a teacher, but it was easy for me. I never had trouble speaking with students or anybody for that matter, and explaining lessons and running a classroom was simple from the start. I guess talent just works out in your favor sometimes, and I thought the best way to live life was to capitalize on that trait. That's what I told him…that if you want to succeed in life…then you need to find something that you're competent at."

"Yet even so…he said he wanted to be just like me…perhaps because I had overwhelmed him with so many things to try to find his talent for, to no avail." He chuckled. "For him, it probably felt a lot less discouraging to simply follow the footsteps of someone he looked up to. I could have continued to let him try to find his own individual talent…afterall that's what I had always preached to him…but for some reason…I stopped trying to. I guess you could say that I was selfish. The fact that my son wanted to be just like me…it was a very self-fulfilling sentiment. I let him chase after me…because truthfully…it felt nice to be idolized like that. I realize now that I had only made things harder for him…leading him away from his individuality…and worst of all…before I left his side…I was never able to fix my mistake. I could only apologize. I could only tell him 'I'm sorry'. That was the last thing I ever said to him. I was afraid for him after I left…because not only did I hurt him…but I left him so very lost. I'm glad that he had his mother and his siblings to grieve together with…but I could tell…that he was struggling to look forward...that he couldn't seem to let go of me," he said with regret painfully laced into his voice.

"But…"

"He found someone." He said after a pause, expression lighting up in a matter of seconds. "Someone who saw everything that I couldn't and gave him the very belief he needed to move forward. She saw him for who he was, someone who always worked hard, someone who gave it his all no matter what. For anyone else…it was so easy to say…that he was someone that simply wanted to be like his father…and though I'm sure he tried his hardest to forget of the feeling…I'm sure he was convinced of it too. But…she never once ever looked at him like that. She lived entirely by her heart, and she knew from the very beginning…that he was someone that truly yearned to do the same. She inspired him, she encouraged him…she supported him…one step at a time…to be the very person that only he could be. She saved him…from the very helplessness that I left him with," he said almost breathlessly.

His smile deepened, and to her, the fondness held there seemed so distinct to what she had expected from his rather rugged exterior.

"I can't ever express…just how proud I am of him for discovering the part of himself that I had completely ignored…how grateful I am for the lovely young lady that was there for him every step of the way. They completely showed me…just how wrong I was. I had thought I already learned my lesson…that I should've let my son continue to dig for the success he was built for…to continue to discover his hidden talent, but this girl…who was completely talentless for her chosen study, is already on her way to becoming one of the most successful advocates in her field. There's something far more important than competency…something far more important than potential. It's the feelings in your heart…the courage for what you love…that truly matters. Believing in that passion…giving everything you got for that love…that's what it means…to experience life fully and wholeheartedly," he answered.

And then…with a gaze filled with the sincerest form of admiration…

"And there's no other two people who have done that so truly…so purely for each other…as these two," the man finished softly.

A knowing smile filled her features.

"They sound like a lovely couple," she said with teasing familiarity.

And the man's smile matched hers in a heartbeat.

"They are…"

Silence filled between them, their gazes meeting, both of them doing their very best to keep their composure.

But…

It was simply just too much.

They broke into laughter simultaneously, finding their attempts at hiding what they had posed as coincidences to be much too trivial. It was obvious…how they had both known from the very start…that there were no such coincidences when it came to fate.

But a buildup for the reveal…was always very much welcomed.

"Shizuru." She extended a hand in introduction. "Shizuru Furuhashi."

"Teruaki. Teruaki Yuiga. It's a pleasure finally meeting you," he returned her gesture wholeheartedly.

Shizuru beamed widely. "The pleasure is all mine. And Teruaki…"

"Let's continue watching over them…with everything we've got," she said resolutely.

And for Teruaki…

There was only concordance…found firmly in his gaze.

"With everything in our heart..."

The day had truly flown by in a blink of an eye. Once the ceremony had concluded, the reception that had followed had felt entirely fleeting even with the numerous activities that it was composed of. As much as they would have loved to continue to celebrate with their friends and family, their time reserved for the venue was still finite, and the evening sun signaled the party's grand conclusion. In the hour that followed, Fumino and Nariyuki had promptly been escorted to their location of stay for the first night of their honeymoon; a lovely ryokan style inn that both Hanae and Reiji had secretly reserved for the two of them despite their insistence to fund their own wedding expenses. It seemed situations like this were inevitable especially when their families were as close as they were together.

"The reception was so amazing! It really felt like everyone there was trying to have a toast together with us." Fumino said reflectively as they stood at the waiting desk together.

"Honestly…my arm kind of feels sore for how many times I had to raise my glass," Nariyuki admitted sheepishly, which earned a series of warm giggles from the girl. "What was your favorite part?"

"Not counting the food right?" She asked with a knowing smile.

"Of course. I already know that's both of our real favorites," He beamed, and Fumino couldn't help but laugh lovingly at that.

"I really loved all of the speeches…" The girl answered fondly after a brief pondrance. "I already knew your mom's speech would be so wonderful…but the fact that father was willing to share so much about us…that really made me so happy. And even Mizuki, Uruka-chan, Ri-cchan, Kominimi-senpai, and Kirisu Sensei…they didn't have to…but they all mustered up the courage to come up to the stage to share about their experiences with us..."

Nariyuki smiled softly.

"Well it's obvious isn't it? When it comes to courage…you're the one that's been everyone's greatest form of inspiration. Wanting to share about that inspiration…I feel like it's only natural that it turned out that way," he answered matter-of-factly.

Fumino stared with wide eyes, taking in the earnesty by his words.

And then reaching for his hand…so very firmly…

"Then it must be even more so with your example…because there's nothing in the world that has inspired me more courageously…than watching you," she whispered, squeezing their intertwined fingers with emphasis.

It was instantaneous…the heartfelt trust and adoration that seeped so beautifully into his smile.

And their eyes were prepared to never break from the shared warmth of their gaze.

That was…until…the sound of approaching footsteps reached their ears, the head of the front desk returning to her post. They smiled shyly, temporarily putting their intimacy on hold. It was best for them to check with their reservation before they truly relaxed.

"Oh, welcome in! I see we have some familiar faces here."

Both of them blinked in confusion at the labeling. Neither of them had frequented the location before.

But then…their eyes widened in recognition.

"Wait…"

"Aren't you…?" Nariyuki added.

"You're the lady from the inn back then!" They exclaimed together.

The elder woman chuckled amusedly at their synergy. "And you're the two adorable youngins who pretended to be siblings," she replied promptly.

This had the both of them blushing immediately.

"Y-you knew?" Fumino asked.

The innkeeper crossed her arms with a smirk. "I know what a sibling relationship looks like when I see one…and what you two had was most certainly not it," she emphasized, further contributing to Fumino and Nariyuki's deep seated blush. "And judging by the way you two were staring lovingly into each other's eyes just now…I guess fate really has a way of remaining true to the heart."

"..."

The words were teasing, and by no means had their chagrin disappeared, but there was a fondness in the woman's tone that was impossible to ignore.

And the implication of the sentiment…was more than enough to earn their smiles of agreement.

'True to the heart.'

"Well now that you two are here, how about I go over the details of your stay? Our family owns many inns across Japan, and this is one of our first locations that is considered as a contemporary ryokan style. We have beds of your choice, mattress or futon, as well as a newly built hot spring included in your stay. And most importantly…"

The woman leaned in close, grinning all too cheekily.

"Our rooms are completely soundproof…so you have no need to be worried about you know what."

"..!"

"We weren't worried about that at all!" They yelled heavily together.

The innkeeper erupted into laughter, and the blushes took over the entirety of Fumino and Nariyuki's faces this time. "I know I know, I'm just making fun of you two lovebirds. Now all I need from you two is to sign your names here to confirm your reservation and you'll be all good to go!"

"R-Really? That's so fast…" Nariyuki said surprised.

"Well usually there's more paperwork, but we make exceptions for our regulars," the woman answered with a wink.

Both of their expressions softened with fondness, a giggle making its way to their lips brightly. They made their way to the desk hand in hand, well aware of the watchful and playful pair of eyes that surveilled their actions.

Though unlike their attempt at the inn so many years past…

The truth was set firmly in stone this time.

Nariyuki wrote his name.

And Fumino hers.

Their eyes met together…

And the blissful understanding shined through their gaze…reflected fully on their shared penmanship.

Nariyuki and Fumino Yuiga.

"Are you ready for bed, Nariyuki?"

"More than ready." Nariyuki smiled as he joined her eagerly at the bedside of their ryokan mattress. "That hot spring really was just perfect at getting my muscles relaxed."

Fumino smiled playfully. "Maybe we could ask our landlord to build one next to our apartment for us? Just a small suggestion for home improvement."

He laughed at that, nodding wholeheartedly in agreement. "It would certainly attract a lot more tenants for him. Who wouldn't want a warm dip in the springs at the end of the day to help with their sleep?" He said, and Fumino joined him in his laughter easily. The girl then reached for his hand, scooting close so that there was no space left between them.

"But still…" Fumino began tenderly. "It doesn't even come close to the wonderful sleep that I get…from being able to share about my day together with you…"

Requited.

There was no other way to describe the joy that displayed fully into his smile.

"Only second to having you in my arms through it all," he answered.

Their eyes met then, and her loving gaze peered so deeply into his that he wasn't sure if there would be anything else remaining to see. It wasn't a concern. Not in the slightest. It was in these moments that time always seemed to freeze altogether, that the gold and brown in their orbs harmonized so beautifully that their hearts would beat in complete tandem.

It was utterly blissful.

Yet…

Nariyuki was unable to hide the slight tremble of his lip that came from it all.

Especially from someone as kind and perceptive as Fumino.

"What is it, Nariyuki?"

"Nothing…I just…"

His grasp tightened around the girl's fingers.

"I just…no matter when…no matter where…every time I'm with you…every time I see you…"

His voice shook together with the single tears that formed at the corner of his eyes.

"I can't ever stop feeling so grateful…so blessed to have your love and belief in me," he whispered.

The silence was piercing, but it did nothing to diminish the beautiful smile that formed on Fumino's face, wrapping ever so warmly around his heart.

And within a moment's notice…

"I know that without a doubt…with every single day forward…just like how it's always been with us together…"

Her hands squeezed the both of his with precious familiarity.

"That feeling will never ever leave for the both of us…"

Nariyuki moved forward then.

And kissed her with all the yearning found within him.

They broke apart…absolutely breathless.

"I love you…Furuhashi…" He whispered.

Fumino giggled softly to herself. "Are you sure it's okay for you to call me that now?"

Nariyuki nodded with a smile, resoluteness found unwaveringly in his eyes.

"No matter where our life takes us…you'll always be Fumino Furuhashi to me."

You're you.

"The person who has always...and will always be there for me."

It was her turn to respond.

And she did…

Crashing their lips ever so deeply.

"The same way that you always have…and always will…believe in me..." She whispered against him.

And Nariyuki captured hers again immediately with overwhelming gratefulness.

The passion was in the air, surrounding them in their display of wholehearted love and devotion. It was all they could do to not melt into each other's warmth as they fell back into the bed behind them, the sheets eventually enveloping their embraced bodies like cascading silk. Their kiss deepened, and even with the breaths they needed to take, their touch never shied away from each other in the slightest.

She felt everything.

He felt everything.

And when they finally drew away enough to gaze into each other's eyes fully.

They knew…that it was there.

Awaiting them so readily.

"I want you…" Fumino whispered.

And there was no world where Nariyuki was ever going to deny the girl that he loved with all of his heart in his arms.

"You have me…"

His arms went to her waist.

Hers around his neck.

And their lips found each other once more…

With nothing to hold them back.

It was warm.

Hot.

Nariyuki pressed his body into her, moving against her, and Fumino whined at the pleasure that came from the motion. She kissed him back hard, a silent plea for him to continue with the course of their desire, and Nariyuki didn't need to be asked twice. His hand gently reached for the robe enveloping her shoulders, sliding them down to reveal the intimate skin beneath, and Fumino did the same, reaching to remove his robe to match her state of undress.

A beat, and the moonlight reflected tenderly against their bare bodies, their eyes drawn to each other with the utmost adoration. Arousal. Awe. It was all there so wonderfully.

Nariyuki leaned down and placed a gentle kiss to her neck, causing Fumino to gasp softly. His hands reached to her breasts simultaneously and the wholehearted moan escaped her lips as he caressed them firmly.

"N-Nariyuki…I-"

"I want you too."

His voice was laced with yearning but the firmness was what was truly heard. They were both ready. She was so very wet, slickness practically gracing her entrance. And for Nariyuki…he was more than firm. His member well and truly stimulated.

But more than anything…it was what was conveyed in their eyes.

There was so much desire there, but overcoming that feeling so easily was the trust. A trust so powerful and unsaid that it threw any hope of fear out the window in a heartbeat. He wanted her and she wanted him.

And nothing was going to stop their love from reaching each other.

"You have me…" Fumino answered tearfully.

Nariyuki had it then…and leaned down to press a soft and promising kiss to her lips. He carefully slipped on protection, one that he prepared for this moment out of safety for the girl, and Fumino giggled as he struggled slightly to adorn it. Once after, his eyes met the girl's in anticipation, and she nodded shyly. He smiled and gently pressed his member at her entrance, and Fumino moaned softly at the contact.

He looked to her comfortingly, bringing his hand down to caress her cheek.

"If it hurts…just tell me to stop, okay?"

Fumino wrapped her arms around his neck in reply, pulling him down and pressing their foreheads together lovingly.

"You could never hurt me…" she assured him, faith unconditional and whole.

His smile that followed was beautiful, and a single tear streaked down his cheek as he nuzzled her with tenderness.

And then.

He moved…

A light whimper escaped Fumino as she felt his length enter through her folds. Her walls tightened, and she could feel every single part of it. His warmth…his shape, and her arms wrapped even further around his neck as Nariyuki moved in and out at a gentle pace. It was painful at first, but soon enough, the pleasure came all too wonderfully. Her tightness adjusted to his girth, and the sensual moans came at full force with every one of his movements. For Nariyuki, the pleasure was practically blinding, groaning at the sensation of the girl around his length, squeezing in a way that could only be described as blissful.

Their gaze bore into each other's with a pause, eyes half lidded, and without another moment of hesitation…Nariyuki brought his lips to hers and increased his pace.

There was no other way to describe it.

It was beautifully euphoric.

Fumino returned their kiss desperately with fervor, holding onto Nariyuki for dear life as he thrusted into her with long and deep strokes. The pressure was building all too quickly, and a whine escaped her lips as she spread her legs even further, wrapping around Nariyuki's waist to support his firm thrusts. Soon enough she was moaning into his mouth with reckless abandon. Her walls were tightening second by second but the friction came effortlessly with her wetness, and Nariyuki found himself groaning almost gutturally at the heavenly sensation that wrapped around him. His arms brought her waist even closer, and somehow…despite the unbelievable pleasure that they were already experiencing, the angle at which he found brought them to even greater heights. Fumino cried out sharply as he thrusted into her at just the right spot…over and over again.

"N-Nariyuki! I…I'm so close!"

"F-Furuhashi…" He moaned. "I…I…"

"I love you…" He whispered with a shake of his voice.

Her lip trembled in return…and with an instinct that refused to ever leave her…

She brought his head down to kiss him hard and long…

Answering him with promise.

"I love you…"

Nariyuki increased his pace, thrusting even harder than before, and knowing that where they both were, he reached down and pressed firmly down on Fumino's clit.

It was enough for both of them to see white.

"Nariyuki!"

Fumino came hard and long, her walls squeezing so tightly around him that it was more than enough to send him over the edge too.

"Fumino!" He cried with unbridled fervor. Their lips crashed into each other at their peak. Their climaxes coursing through them as they desperately held onto each other with synchronous moans. They rode through their orgasms...never once breaking away from what was their loving embrace.

Their thrusts slowed, and the need for air eventually found them.

They broke away slowly as they both came down to earth.

She was quivering.

He was shaking.

But the emotion of joy that found them together was inevitable…

Fatefully in tandem.

Tears flowed down the both of their cheeks, their arms reached out to hold each other, and the bliss in their hearts matched the ardent smiles that graced their features beautifully.

It was true and protected…to every end.

Their love.

Their precious love…that had always guided them…and would always guide them…

This…

Was right.

For every moment and beyond.

A/N: Happy White Day! I know that it's been a while, but I thought it was only fitting that this chapter be released on our couple's official anniversary. This one was a journey, and I really did put everything I had into it for this wonderful moment for them. I can't express how grateful I am for the continued support for this story, and just all the patience for the delays and breaks. If there's one thing that's for sure, is that there's so much more to come, and whether the schedule is consistent or unpredictable, I hope you'll continue to support this story that means so much to me and these two. Look forward to showing you all what's next.

Until Next Time!
