Takoba Municipal Beach Park

A Week Before The Entrance Exam

Izuku could be seen working on a lone workbench, behind him were leftover parts of the junk he had used to create his multipurpose drill. His expression was that of focus and determination, he was using a large wrench with two hands to finish tightening a large bolt. After one last turn, he smiled with sweat dripping from his forehead. He placed the wrench aside and hefted up the large drill with a handle on it, after a bit of configuring on it from Izuku, the drill glowed bright blue before shrinking down to a manageable size. "It's finished!" he exclaimed with pride as he lifted his drill up to gaze at it.

The sound of footsteps could be heard behind Izuku, prompting him to turn and face his childhood 'friend'. Izuku beamed at Bakugo and showed him his drill, "Kacchan, it's finally finished!" he announced with pride.

Bakugo had his hands in his pockets with an annoyed expression as he stomped his way over to Izuku, he stopped a few steps away from Izuku to gaze down at what Izuku was holding. "You invited me to come here to look at a drill piece you nerd?" he questioned with a perturbed expression.

Izuku gestured for Bakugo to follow him towards a leftover pile of metal scrap and objects leftover from him cleaning the beach, "Not just any drill Kacchen!" He denied the acquisition with fervor for his creation, prompting Bakugo to follow out of genuine curiosity hidden under a facade of annoyance. "A drill to shatter the heavens and beyond!" he exclaimed with an excited tone.

Bakugo tsked as he followed and eyed the pile of trash and clean beach, "So this is where you've been going?" He questioned his 'childhood' friend.

Izuku nodded as he walked towards the pile of scrap and metal objects, "Yup!" he responded back, "Everything I needed was just lying around waiting to be used here!" he explained while he approached the pile of scrap, "So with my wits and determination, I worked day and night to use everything I could get my hands on to use and make this drill!" he said while he aimed to stab his drill into the pile of junk.

As Bakugo stood behind Izuku to wait for whatever the nerd wanted to show him, he crossed his arms with a look of skepticism. "What's it even supposed to do, ya nerd?" he asked with a light scoff, "Drill your enemies to death." he quipped with a smirk of jest.

Once Izuku stabbed his drill into the pile of junk scrap, he glanced over at Bakugo with a proud smile of determination, "Like Big Bro Kamina once said, 'Believe in yourself, believe in yourself and the Kamina in your heart that believes in you. Don't stop believing, even if you have to drill beyond the heavens to declare your might as the best hero'." Izuku quoted the words he took to heart with great fervor, "And this drill will be my might, my will, my determination to scream to the heavens that I will be the greatest quirkless hero ever!" Izuku said with a shining look in his eyes of resolve.

Bakugo was about to comment on the uselessness of a quirkless hero, but his words died in his throat when the drill glowed bright blue after Izuku pulled a trigger within its handle; His curiosity triumphing over saying something witty as the entire pile of scrap glowed blue as well. Izuku turned to focus on his drill as he activated its power into the pile of metal scrap, soon the pile began to coalesce in on itself along with the drill; Izuku meanwhile stood back with an excited expression as the pile shifted and transformed into a small like mecha bot with a cockpit, the leftover scrap heap continued to amalgamate together, allowing it to grow in size along with the cockpit size and finish as a bit larger mecha.

"Come on Kacchan!" Izuku shouted with excitement as he rushed in to climb into the cockpit with two seats in it, Bakugo meanwhile had an annoyed but shocked look. "What the hell nerd, how'd it do all that?" he yelled in curiosity as he followed after Izuku.

Izuku meanwhile sat in the front seat of the cockpit with a smile of joy, he peered over at Bakugo as he approached the mech. "I call it spiral energy! Nothing will ever be impossible, so long as I am determined to accomplish it!" He exclaimed with pride as Bakugo climbed up and into the back seat with a few curses of Izuku to move out the way so he could climb in easier in the albeit small cockpit meant for two, his own inner childishness winning over of wanting to ride a mecha.

As Bakugo looked around the cockpit, he noticed another set of controls for him. "What's with the joysticks back here, aren't you the one driving the damn thing?" he questioned as he tested the controls a bit.

Izuku began punched in a few buttons on his control panel and soon the cockpit was covered over with a dome, shutting off both boys from the outside world. "Just watch Kacchan! Watch as I show the world that nothing is impossible, so long as you have the determination to do the impossible!" he announced as the inside glowed blue. "Get ready to pilot the legs Kacchan!" Izuku yelled excitedly as the inside glowed blue.

Bakugo was about to ask what Izuku meant when he couldn't control anything at the moment, but his words died a second time in his throat when Izuku piloted his mecha by making it run towards a pile of cars…wait, cars? "Izuku, you nerd! How'd you even stack those cars atop each other!" Bakugo hollered over the running sounds and internal gadgets of the mecha.

Izuku smirked in response as he piloted the mecha to leapt, and transform its legs into one large drill. "You forget what I said Kacchan! Nothing is impossible so long as I have the determination to do it!" He hollered back with a smirk as the mecha landed into the pile up of cars.

The entire pile along with the mecha's head and drill glowed a bright blue, before long the pile shifted and transformed into one large mecha. Inside the cockpit, Bakugo made a surprised look when his seat descended down; Bakugo blinked a few times as he took in the sight of his own cockpit while a screen popped up to show a live feed of Izuku while another showed the outside world. Izuku spoke up with an excited look, "You ready Kacchan?" He asked with barely contained excitement.

Bakugo smirked as he gripped the two control sticks, "Shut up Nerd! As if I need to tell you if I'm ready to pilot a set of legs!" He remarked back as he began testing the controls, from the outside the mech was stumbling a bit with its first few steps before it finally walked right.

Izuku in the meanwhile smiled with pride as his finished product created a mecha with nought but scrap and cars. "Are you ready to fly now?" he hollered over his shoulder at the hole leading down to Bakugo's cockpit."

Bakugo's eyes shrunk in slight fear before glaring up at the hole leading to Izuku's cockpit, "The hell I am, keep this thing on the ground you idiot!" he yelled up.

"Too late!" Izuku shouted with excitement as he keyed in a few buttons and soon a jetpack formed on the back of the mech, before long the mecha ignited its thruster pack soar high up into the air with both boys letting out shouts of excitement. "Don't fly too high you idiot!" Bakugo yelled with anger at his friend as they soared higher through the sky.

"Nonsense!" Izuku laughed as they soared higher, before long, the mecha was going through the clouds and beyond. As the mecha flew past all those clouds, it finally stopped to hover above every cloud with the view of a setting sun. Izuku's eyes widened with determination and pride as he viewed the vast sky from within his cockpit, "Kacchan, look…" he said with an awed look, "I did it! I've soared beyond the heavens, I've pierced them, all…" he said breathlessly while viewing the horizon.

Bakugo in the meanwhile huffed a bit with annoyance but stopped himself from saying anything negative once he saw the grand view above the clouds and the setting sun. "...I think that Kamina guy was speaking more metaphorically…Izuku…" he said quietly as he viewed what could only be seen from an aircraft, and yet here was inside a cockpit of a mecha and view the horizon over the clouds and a setting sun, he smirked at the monitor that showed Izuku and his face of pride. "...But you did something awesome…ya nerd.."

From inside Izuku's cockpit, he smirked back at the monitor that showed Bakugo, then looked back at the monitor that showed the outside world. "I hope you can see me now big bro! I'm one step closer!" Izuku spoke quietly as the mecha began to be controlled by Izuku to fly a bit more over the sea of clouds, before he piloted it back down to land safely back on the beach.
