Akushi

Chapter Fourteen

I couldn't help but feel constant agony as I barely remembered how I had passed out near the creek. My whole body was aching, and I could hear nothing but the sound of a girl screaming out my name in fear. It hurt so bad that I fought as hard as I could to not wake up.

I was afraid to see it. I was afraid to see whatever was after me, and that I would possibly die. However, if the only way to stay safe was to keep my eyes shut, then I would keep it that way.

Then again, it hurt too much to ignore as the screaming continued. Was I in hell?

"Keep her away," the devilish voice demanded. Akushi. Akushi. It was him. Akushi. Akushi killed me!

I felt as if I was paralyzed or at least stuck in chains. I struggled to break free as I heard the voice continuing on with his outbursts, as well as the constant screaming from the other source.

I suddenly thought of Rena. She was in danger and she was calling my name. Rena needs me. I wasn't going to let Akushi keep me from helping her!

"Keep her away."

"No, I will not listen to you!" I shouted out in anger, and practically found myself choking on my own sweat as I awoke.

As if it were all just a dream, I lay in the bed of the house I have been staying at with Rena. It was quiet, but my body still felt so sore from whatever accident I went through. Of course, I don't really remember how it happened or where I was at the time.

I sat up and scanned the room quickly, because I couldn't hear or feel Akushi. The plastic bag was gone, meaning that somebody had taken it. I wasn't so sure if that was a good or bad thing.

However, by the horrid look I suddenly saw on Satoko's face, I wasn't convinced that everything was alright.
