"Alright boys, I need you to take care of each other, stay safe and send me a letter at least once a week." Victoria said with a small laugh at the end.
It was time for her four wards/kids to set off for another year at Hogwarts. They'd arrived early to the platform to avoid the other Weasleys, especially Molly, and were saying their goodbyes before they got on the train. Harry was hugging his aunt tightly, afraid of what will happen when he goes to Hogwarts and not wanting to leave her safe embrace to face his unpredictable future.
"It's going to be alright, darling." Victoria whispered to her nephew, tightening her hold a little more. "I'll always be a mirror call away, and you'll have your cousins there to protect you."
"I know." Henry said, burrowing his face in her neck. "I just finally have a family that loves me and I don't want to leave so soon."
"We'll always be there for you. Hogwarts or not, you'll always be our nephew." Lucius said as he bent down with one knee on the floor and put his hand on Henry's shoulder. Henry had gotten close to both his uncle and aunt, and even his godfather, in the weeks he'd had before Hogwarts, but he found himself especially admiring Lucius Malfoy for his supportive and protective personality and his quiet confidence in his own abilities.
"I love you two." Henry said with a bright smile, the two immediately returning the sentiment with one of their own. Victoria let go of the boy, gave a hug to her other nephew before he left to search for his friends and then bent down to be on the same level as her sons.
"While I wish I could've been here to send you off on your first year, I'm still glad I can be here now. I love you two." Victoria said as she pulled the two into a tight hug.
"We love you two mum." Even though their voice was muffled as they burrowed themselves into her embrace, she could still hear them loudly and a bright smile split across her face.
An hour later, they were waving them off as the train left the platform with wistful smiles on both Lord and Lady's faces.
"We have to get Dumbledore out of that school." Victoria said as she turned to her childhood best friend.
"Agreed. And I think I have the perfect idea for this."
"Hey Nev." Harry greeted as he and Draco entered the compartment the boy was in.
"Hello Neville." Draco said after, smiling at the shy boy.
"Hey guys. You can sit with me if you want." The two sat down then, happy with the invitation and started a conversation with the boy, by the end of which the three were laughing hysterically.
"I…can't…believe they did that." Draco said between laughter, commenting on a story the boy was telling them about the twins.
"Yeah. Grandmother was scandalised, it was hilarious."
"I'd imagine. I can't imagine Lady Augusta reacting any other way." Harry said, just imaging the expression on the stern woman's face.
The three settled in for the hours they'd have to sit through until they reached Hogwarts, unknowing of the efforts the twins were doing to make sure no one disturbed them.
"Sounds like another year is starting." A quiet woman said to her companions in the cells next to her, smiling wistfully at the memories of once being a part of that crowd.
"Hadrian should be starting this year." The man sitting next to her said as he pulled her into his arms, the two drawing comfort from each other.
"Let's hope someone finds us this year, then." Another man, this one in the cell beside the couple's, said, his voice void of any hope for his statement.
"Oi, Fab, sound a little optimistic. I'm sure someone will realise we're down here soon." The man sitting next to him, his twin brother, said with a fake brightness that got him a glare from those around here.
"Maybe." But the woman didn't sound like she believed her words. The four had spent almost ten years in this version of hell, they'd lost hope of escaping a long time ago.
"SLYTHERIN!" The hall fell quiet in shock at the words uttered by the hat, shocked by who exactly had just been sorted to the House of Snakes. Hadrian James Potter smiled slightly at the words and moved off of the stool to go sit with his cousin, proud of joining his uncle and aunt's house. His twin cousins smiled brightly at him from where they sat a few seats down and Percy gave him a bright smile from the table next to them, happy by the turn of events.
At the Head Table, two men stared at the boy with equal parts of shock and interest while the man sitting at the largest chair looked intrigued on the outside but was actually seething with anger at another one of his plans being foiled.
Hours after the Start of Term Feast had finished, the twin red-heads were sitting with their heads bowed together, experimenting on a mystery they've been trying to crack for a year now.
"Are you two going to go to bed any time soon?" Cassius Warrington, their year mate and friend, asked as he got under his covers and opened a book to read before bed, staring at the two sitting on the floor in amusement.
"We're almost done, Cass. You go on first."
"Suit yourselves then, but don't blame me when you can't concentrate in class tomorrow because you didn't sleep." The two waved off his words and continued staring at the piece of parchment laying between them.
"I think I got it." George whispered, getting a nod from his twin to try.
"Go one then."
"Secretum verbum revelare" George said quietly, pointing his wand at the parchment at the same time. A piece of paper appeared with two sentences written.
"Try the first one." George told his brother who nodded.
"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." Fred said as he tapped the parchment and ink started spreading through it. The two stared in amazement, smiling brightly in victory. They pumped their fists in the air but refrained from saying anything so as not to wake up their dorm mated. They greeted by the marauders who had created this invention, a map.
'The Marauders Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs
Proudly present
The Marauders' Map'
They opened it and found a map of the Hogwarts grounds in its entirety. Amazed they started searching around. They found themselves in their dorms and their cousins in the one below theirs. Looking more they found something interesting.
"Is that?"
"Yeah." The two exchanged in shock, staring at the four names that blared at them below the Headmaster's office.
"We found them!" The two whisper shouted in unison, jumping up in shock. They looked at each other and shared a determined look. They would save them, they had to.y would save them, they had to.
