The Forgotten 6

Man this story is flowing well for me for some reason.

I hope ya'll enjoy this next installment.

Kimberly felt better than she had in a long time when she woke up. There weren't any nightmares or dreams waking her up feeling drained and on the verge of tears. She went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth and threw her hair up in a ponytail and went back to change. Getting into her workout clothes she grabbed her bag and the Dragon Dagger. As she was about ready to leave there was a knock on her door. A very ticked off Analyse was standing there. Kimberly cringed knowing she'd done something wrong.

"Analyse what do I owe…"

"Did you forget your assignment?"

"I sent what I had to you."

"I didn't get it."

"I swear I sent it to you."

Sighing softly in annoyance she dropped her bag. Her latest book fell out. Analyse reached down and picked it up. She flipped through the pages and her hand froze seeing Zen-Aku.

"New team? And Zen-Aku?"

"Yes. I had to go to Phaedos."

Analyse tensed.

"Are you alright?"

"For now."

"Why didn't you tell me? Or tell Rayce?"

"I just got back last night. It wasn't a planned trip. The balance was messed up."

"How much longer?"

"I don't know. Zen-Aku and Merrick are watching over me more closely. Wes, Eric, and Andros are on hair pin triggers at the moment my heart spikes in a negative way."

"How many episodes?"

"In the last couple days? A couple."

Analyse moved forward with a frown.

"What?"

She reached forward and grabbed a lock of hair. Her hair was tipped in green and white.

"I assume you didn't do this?"

"No. It's the power of the Falcon and Dragon. I got the balance between the two back."

"I like it though."

Her phone started ringing playing the song The Fireman. Kimberly huffed and put it on speaker phone.

"Whatever it is you heard I didn't do it."

"Mind explaining to me why you sent me these images that I'm sure are for Analyse."

"See I sent them, but to the wrong email."

"Kimberly, I don't know how you can get things done in your normal life and be a Ranger at the same time."

"Ranger?" Rayce asked. "New team again?"

"New team again."

"Yes, Ninja Rangers."

"Kimberly," Analyse told her.

Kimberly sighed softly knowing she wanted her to tell Rayce too.

"Why do I have a feeling I'm not going to like what's about to be said?"

"I had to go to Phaedos to regain the balance that I had with the animal spirits inside of me. I had to retake the trial to get them back in sync again for now."

"I'll come…"

"No. Zen-Aku and Merrick are watching my back. Eric, Wes and Andros are also are on hair pin triggers when my stats change and they get alerts."

"And I heard you're trying to do Fire Department stuff on top of that?"

"Kimberly…"Analyse started.

"I decided the Fire Department stuff before the new team started."

"You're going to kill yourself."

"Yes, I know."

A gasp outside her door drew her attention. A growl of annoyance escaped her. Opening the door Tori was standing there.

"What are you doing…"

"I came to see if you were okay."

"Might as well come in and meet my friends."

Dustin and Shane fell down behind Tori. Kimberly shook her head with a laugh. The three Wind Rangers came inside and stood there waiting for someone to break the conversation.

"Analyse, Rayce this is Dustin, Tori and Shane. They're my new friends."

As their names were called they gave a small gesture.

"They better take care of you," Rayce growled over the phone.

"Rayce that's not nice."

"No you kill yourself trying to help other teams and all you get out of it is chaos, nosebleeds and closer steps to death."

"Hey," Dustin started.

"Rayce that's not their fault. I've told you the Call is getting stronger and stronger."

"He doesn't deserve your help either."

Anger got the better of her and she hung up on Rayce.

"Sorry." she murmured softly.

Her phone went off again but she silenced the call.

"Kimberly."

"I don't need this right now. I've chosen my life as it stands and I will help whoever I need to as a Ranger."

Analyse moved forward and enveloped her in a hug which Kimberly returned.

"Rayce understands but he was there when you were at your worst after the accident. He didn't know how he pulled you back from that."

"I'll resend those images to you in a minute."

She went to her laptop and pulled up the sent message and then resent it to Analyse.

"I hope that idiot takes to the Dragon symbol they wanted because I'll refuse to do another one."

"I don't know why you don't use…"

Kimberly glared at Analyse.

"The Dragon symbol isn't mine to give and no one will have that. Besides, it'll draw the wrong kind of attention to me. People do know what it means."

"Right. I'll get these to the client and hopefully it'll be done."

"Hopefully. By the way Eric said their design was stupid anyway."

"Of course, he would."

"You know Eric?" Tori asked.

"We've been with Kimberly a long time. We tend to meet a couple Rangers at a time. Not to mention the books."

"Books?" Shane asked in confusion.

Analyse gestured to the locked cases.

"The history of Rangers starting with my team till now minus Turbo, Alien, and Zeo."

"Why those?"

"That will not be discussed yet. I don't know you guys that well yet."

"We were worried," Tori finally told her. "You were gone for days and Zen-Aku was nowhere to be found."

"Merrick and Zen-Aku went with me to Phaedos."

"Did the trip help?"

"It did."

"That's great."

Analyse smiled at the teenager. It was always nice to meet those that were watching the back of their friend.

"Rayce is right though," Analyse told them. "Please watch her back."

"We'll do our best," Dustin told her.

She smiled softly.

"I'll call him to get him settled down, but don't forget to talk to him."

"I won't."

Dustin moved just right and knocked a cover off the cover of a new comic she was working on. He got this awed expression on his face.

"You…"

"Illustrator on this one."

"I've been waiting on this comic to come out forever."

She laughed softly at Dustin.

"Remind me later and I might be able to help you out."

"Yes," Dustin said with a grin.

"Well Kimberly I'll call you later. You looked like you were ready to go out and exercise," Analyse told her.

"Yes, I'm meeting Zen-Aku in a couple hours back in Blue Bay Harbor."

"Need a ride?" Tori asked.

She was about ready to say no but then she realized her truck was still back at the Fire Department. Analyse walked out the door. Kimberly moved forward and covered the comic cover back up and put it back in the crate it had come out of.

"I think I might take you up on that."

"Alright let's go."

The four Rangers headed back to Blue Bay Harbor. They dropped her off at the Fire Department. Getting in her Truck she drove to the beach and parked it near the secluded beach that they used. A familiar song echoed across the beach making her smile softly. Zen-Aku was sitting on a rock out cropping playing his flute. Once again she was grateful, he was on her side in this now.

"You're late."

"Sorry Zen-Aku Analyse, Rayce and the Wind Rangers waylaid me."

"Sounds like an adventure."

"I accidently sent the latest assignment to Rayce instead of Analyse. So she stopped by which triggered Rayce calling and then the Wind Rangers showed up and Rayce blew up. Fun stuff."

"Sounds like it. Let's get started little Crane."

Putting her bag aside she got ready. Zen-Aku stopped and tilted his head to the side looking at her.

"Not you too."

"That's not normal."

"I guess it's the manifestation of the Dragon and Falcon."

She reached up and looked at the end of her hair. "I kind of like it."

He nodded his head.

"We're going to start with set warm ups then we're going to spar again."

Tori walked out seeing the two.

"Can I?" she asked.

Zen-Aku looked at Kimberly and then to Tori.

"If that's what you wish."

She did a little happy dance and went down to stand beside Kimberly.

"We're going to start with warm up sets then we're going to spar."

"Got it."

"She almost reminds me of Alyssa."

Kimberly laughed softly and looked at Tori and shook her head. She could see it too but not in the degree that he could.

"Who's Alyssa?" Tori asked warily.

"White Tiger Wild Force Ranger."

"So that's a good thing?"

"Yes."

Zen-Aku shook his head that the two females. Now he kind of understood why Merrick headed to the hills when females were concerned. Kimberly took a deep calming breath and moved to stand beside Zen-Aku and Tori stood beside her. Slowly they went through sets for a while before Zen-Aku called for the spar hand to hand only. The two girls faced off against the Wolf Org. Their tag team efforts were effective against the Wolf. A blast shot past Zen-Aku making the Wolf summon his crescent blade barely able to deflect the blast away from the two female Rangers. He moved into a defensive stance in front of them. Hunter and Blake were rushing forward towards them. Kimberly's entire demeanor shifted right then and there seeing Hunter and Blake.

"Kimberly?" Tori asked in confusion.

"Zen-Aku," she growled in a low dark voice.

The Org looked at her and nodded his head. Zen-Aku blurred and grabbed Tori and yanked her backwards away from the Thunder Rangers.

"Hey what…"

"You need to stay out of this."

"They're our friends."

"But they are not hers."

"Kimberly!" Tori called out frantically grasping the situation right at the moment. "Stop!"

Tori was struggling against Zen-Aku. Blake shot towards Zen-Aku trying to get Tori. Zen-Aku even burdened with Tori managed to kick Blake into the ocean.

"Blake!"

"Stop fighting you're only going to get hurt."

"They're on our team now."

"Team or not Hunter and Blake stole the Dragon Dagger from her and beat her."

"They what…"

She shot forward towards Hunter. The Crimson Ranger barely managed to dodge her onslaught. She was keeping him on his toes trying to avoid hurting her. He managed to get away from her long enough to morph, but she was right on top of him in her own Power Ranger armor. Hunter was trying to fend her off with his staff, but she drew the Dragon Dagger and her sword to fight against him. He stumbled a bit but recovered quickly. Shane and Dustin arrived. The others were trying to get their hands on her. She kicked Hunter into a rock where he was struggling to rise. Before she could go after him again she was engulfed in gray and blue clad arms.

"Let me go Merrick," she growled.

"Easy," she heard Merrick rumble.

Zen-Aku appeared beside his counterpart. Tori was helping Blake to his feet. He looked at the struggling Crimson Thunder Ranger then to the pink clad Ninjetti.

"Easy, Kimberly, you've beaten him."

"What did you do to her?" Merrick demanded.

"I don't know," Hunter snapped. "She just went psycho on me."

"She doesn't just do that for nothing at least not when her eyes are normal."

Tori helped Blake to stand beside his brother. Zen-Aku moved forward and scented the Crimson Ranger and the Navy-Blue Ranger. They got into a defensive stance at the Duke Org's closeness. Kimberly sagged against Merrick. Shaking his head at these younger Rangers. She leaned against him a minute before standing up straight. Her sword poised ready for a fight.

"You jumped her?" Shane asked his friend in confusion.

"We were just trying to get the Dagger," Blake admitted. "Didn't expect her to be home or her to be a Ranger."

"For what?" Tori asked.

"Lothor said it could help us…"

"Do what?" Kimberly snarled. "You don't even know what this thing does, do you?"

"You attacked her though," Merrick said. "Which might I add was stupid because it triggered an alert system in her communicator that draws Rangers to her to help her. You're lucky you didn't have to face Eric's fury."

"Why?" Hunter asked.

"Why isn't any of your business," Kimberly snapped.

Before more could be said two Rangers showed up ready for a battle. Merrick shook his head seeing Eric and Taylor.

"Told you, easy you two," Merrick told them. "She was getting her rage out."

Eric looked over at the other Rangers in confusion. All the Rangers were looking at each other wondering what the heck was going down right in front of them.

"The Thunder Rangers were the ones that took the Dagger," Zen-Aku told the Quantum and Yellow Eagle Rangers.

Both Taylor and Eric got into their fighting stances ready to do their own beat down.

"It only has the power to help only one and Kimberly is his chosen master," Eric told them. "Why take it?"

"We were told it could help us," Hunter said aloud.

Shane moved to help Hunter to his feet. Blake draped his brother's arm over his shoulder.

"The Dragon is kind of finicky on who he helps," Eric told them.

"Dragon?"

Zen-Aku shook his head at them.

"It's called the Dragon Dagger for a reason."

"They don't need to know any more than that," Kimberly told them.

"Can we just all get along we're Rangers after all?" Dustin asked.

Kimberly snorted at their words. She sheathed her sword on her back and put away the Dragon Dagger and turned to walk down the beach with the Duke Org following in her steps.

"Taylor," Merrick greeted his teammate.

"Merrick."

Eric's wrist started beeping.

"Eric what…"

"Taylor and I took care of it. She threw a beat down on the Crimson Thunder Ranger."

Before Hunter could say anything Blake covered his mouth.

"Don't make it worse by disputing it."

Merrick looked at Taylor and Eric.

"We had to take her to Phaedos to restore the balance."

"She's running out of time then."

None of the other Rangers would look at them.

"We'll call you back once we find out what went down."

The heard fighting only to see Zen-Aku and Kimberly fighting against each other. She was in her Ranger form. They were going all out the power exploding around them was drawing all there gaze. They were staring at awe as the two of them were fighting all out. Eric just smirked.

"You're lucky she didn't turn that on you," Eric told him. "I haven't seen her that pissed in a long time, and that Duke Org is probably the only one that can stand up to her now."

A gray power exploded around them and it washed over the land. Zen-Aku was laying on the ground with her standing over top of him. Her Ninjetti Outfit was gray before the gray melted away to pink. Kimberly sheathed her sword and held out her hand to the Wolf Org.

"Yeah, you're lucky," Eric snorted. "Really lucky. She's normally not so callous towards allies but that Dagger is more important than you'll ever know."

"I don't understand this Call thing or what you mean about her Communicator?" Tori asked Eric.

"The Call lets her know when teams need her. Three teams after the Curse was cast she ignored but it eventually got to a point she couldn't ignore it when Andros and his Space team came on scene. She's been helping teams ever since," Eric told them.

"The Communicator has been modified in some way by every team. It alerts any Ranger in the vicinity she needs help. Though, four of us get the call regardless of out nearness," Merrick told them.

"Merrick, Wes, Andros and myself. There is a fifth but he doesn't have a morpher yet to receive the alert."

"Why is it even needed outside of her own team?" Shane asked.

"Her team doesn't know who she is that's the nature of the Curse. It's killing her and she blacks out from time to time. More often than not in places that she shouldn't black out in. It also alerts us when her personality shifts," Eric continued.

"Personality shifts?" Hunter asked.

"The Monster in her head because of the Curse. It's a possession Curse. Once she falls it won't be her anymore. We are overprotective of her for a reason, and she may resent us at times but we're all she has."

Blake and Hunter looked at each other. "She is the Forgotten. A Ranger that belongs to no team but has won the hearts of many for her kindness, her bravery and loyalty. You will understand in time. Just as we all did."

Kimberly skipped back to them. With the Duke Org trailing behind him.

"I'm glad I could get that out of your system Kimberly."

"Oh come on Zen-Aku you have to dial it back when you normally fight me and I never win."

"Bi-polar much," Hunter groused.

"You're lucky I wasn't out to kill you," Kimberly looked at him pointedly.

She took a deep breath and powered down.

"Since that's done we'll head back," Eric told her.

Taylor moved forward and gave Kimberly a hug and said something to her. Kimberly nodded her head and the Yellow Eagle and Quantum Rangers walked away.

"What was that?"

"Nothing important."

Kimberly smiled softly and looked at her Wolf guardians. She looked out over the ocean and the smile dropped. Tori moved forward and stepped up beside her.

"Do you want to talk about him?"

"Not right now. I'm content with my memories the good and the bad."

"You still love him."

"I always have and always will."

Then something happened and Kimberly's eyes rolled up in her head and she started to fall. Tori barely managed to catch her. Zen-Aku shot forward and scooped her up from the Water Ninja.

"She'll be okay," Zen-Aku assured her. "She's just exhausted. It's been an eventful last couple days. Telling someone her whole story, fighting stone monsters and realigning with her animal spirits, and then beating the tar out of Hunter."

"You shouldn't pick on him."

"But she is right. Had she had the intent to kill she would've buried him."

"That's what you're worried about isn't it?"

"In a way yes. Though not for you guys."

Tori thought on what he said for a moment.

"You're worried she'll do that against him."

"They're still connected memories or not."

"Tell her…"

"I will. She will apricate someone who will listen to whatever she tells them."

She nodded Merrick moved forward and took Kimberly's bag and got her keys out. Zen-Aku vanished with Kimberly and Merrick drove her truck home.
