"I knew it." Cyborg said. "I knew we were going to be late."
"Don't overreact, Cy." Robin said, fixing his tie. Even with the formal suit, he still wore his mask. All heroes at the party would do that. "The party started five minutes ago."
"But we're the stars of the evening, dude." Beast Boy said, throwing his arm around an amused Raven. "We're supposed to be there when it starts."
Raven rolled her eyes and looked at Starfire, who was staring at her wedding ring. "Something wrong, Star?" Raven asked.
"No, I just got a feeling." Starfire said. "But it's a good feeling. I suspect another wedding coming our way."
Raven, nor Starfire noticed Beast Boy freezing up. They were busy chattering. The Titans arrived at the hall where the party was. Packs of TV and newspaper reporters were howling the scene. The Titans, like real celebrities, drove to the red carpet and jumped out, greeting the mass. They waved at the people, signed autographs and answered questions. Then they went inside. No other people than those from the heroic business were allowed. This was a party by the Titans, for the Titans.
"I didn't realize that there were so many Titans around the world." Beast Boy said when he saw the massive collection of super heroes and heroines in the room. "Do we have a website where everyone can join for only $5?"
Robin chuckled. "No, after the news got out that we had defeated the Brotherhood of Evil, we got many requests from other heroes." He said. "There are Titans Teams all around the world."
"And you five are our supreme commanders." A voice from behind said. Robin turned around and smiled. He knew this person. It was one of the 'non-powered Pre-Titans' he had trained.
"David, how are you?" Robin asked.
"I'm going by Nightstrike now, Robin." The boy said. He wore a black formal suit, like most of the men in the room, but the two katana's on his back gave him a alert look. He shrugged when he noticed that the Titans were looking at the two katana's. "Like you thought us, Robin. 'Always have a weapon at hand. Expect an unexpected attack.'"
"Yeah, but Rob's weapons are hidden …in god knows what for places." Beast Boy joked.
"You said we, Nightstrike." Cyborg said, patting the young hero on the back. "Who's we?"
"The other 'non-powered kids' that he trained." Nightstrike said. "we formed a team, The Nightwatch Titans."
"Where are they?" Robin asked, eager to meet 'his students' again.
"Patrolling the area." Nightstrike shrugged. "They really do everything you taught us. Violet Spider really want to impress you by doing things by the Titans' Book."
"We have a book then?" Beast Boy asked. "I always figured the plans at the time we really need one …like when we're under the attack of a villain."
"I'm sure proud of you, Nightstrike." Robin said. "All of you."
"We are glad the hear that." Nightstrike said. "If you'll excuse me, I see a pretty super heroine that I just need to ask for a dance." Nightstrike walked away into the crowd.
"Dude, all our students are here." Beast Boy said, overlooking the crowd. "I see Viper, Morpho, The Changing Brothers …hey, is that Steve?"
"I can see a lot of my friends that I taught to blend in with the human popularity." Starfire said, hovering a bit above the crowd and waving at a few of her students."
"Yeah, the whole techno-dudes-student-club is here." Cyborg said, spotting his student. "HEY, Viral Blaster, how's that new software of you going!"
"EVERYONE we ever met or taught is here." Raven said, smiling. "We really mad a difference."
"That's why we started with the Titans in the first place." Robin said, walking over to the podium. "To make a difference."
Under a thunder of applause, the Five founding members of the Teen Titans stepped on stage. They all waved and cheered. Robin raised his hands to silence the crowd. Then he started his speech.
Robin began speaking. "It's been over four years that five teens came together and decided to make a difference. Those teens were myself, Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy and Raven. We vowed to protect Jump City from evil. In the beginning we just protected this city, but then came the greater threats that forced us to make a new team: Titans east."
Somewhere in the crowd was the cheering of five people. Robin smiled and waved. "Nice suit, Speedy. For a while that was enough. But again, we faced great threats. We stopped Demons from taking over our world. We fought and claimed our victory. We thought that that was the worst evil we could ever face. We were wrong. Evil came again. This time in the form of the Brotherhood of evil."
Robin silence for a moment and looked at the reactions of the crowd. Veteran Titans nodded and new Titans became eager to listen more.
"To stop this evil, we decided to create a worldwide organization of Titans. We thought that that was smart. It wasn't. They used our global communication to take us on one by one and eliminate us. If it wasn't for our good friend Beast Boy, who already had fought with the Brotherhood during time with the Doom Patrol, we wouldn't be standing her today."
The crowd cheered for the green shapeshifter. Beast Boy smiled brightly and took a bow. He had never suspected for Robin to congratulate him in a room full of Titans.
"After we had defeated the Brotherhood, even more heroes and heroines joined our cause and I am proud to stand in a room where I can say that in every continent, in every land and in every city there is a Titan to protect it!"
The crowd cheered.
Robin smiled and spoke again. "We are protectors, we are brothers in arms, we are friends! WE ARE TITANS!"
The crowd cheered their lungs out and applauded as Robin went to his seat at the podium and Cyborg came up to say his speech.
"Thank you, Robin." Cyborg said, also clapping. "If I knew Robin had prepared such a speech I would have prepared mine better." He laughed with the others and began his speech.
Starfire and Raven had their share of time at the micro to say their speech. Then it was Beast Boy's turn.
Beast Boy cleared his throat. "Ahem. Well, save the best for last is what I always say."
The crowd chuckled.
"Most of the things that needed to be said have been said." Beast Boy began. "I didn't really prepare a speech, so I just say what I think that needs to be said by me. I'm proud to call myself a Titan. I'm proud that I know that the cities can sleep safely, knowing that we are there to protect it. Like many others in this room, I was unsure what my purpose in my life was, what I needed to do with my powers. My time in the Doom Patrol was good, but my life really became good when I met these four people behind me and one in particular."
Raven silently giggled.
"I'm glad that I met them, I'm glad I had all our adventures and I'm glad that I got a change to meet every one of you. To see all these protectors in one room …it give me hope knowing that our world is protected and that the protectors are my friends."
The crowd applauded and cheered.
"Because friends are everything. I started with four new friends and now I have all you guys. That's great if I ever need any money for the movies."
Again chuckling in the crowd.
"But there is one friend in particular that I want to thank and I want her to stand beside me so you can cheer for her. Raven, can you come over please?"
Raven was surprised and under the cheering of the crowd and a rather persistent push of Starfire, she stood up and walked over to a brightly smiling Beast Boy.
"Here she is. Many of you people know that Raven and I started rather …uneasy with our friendship. Took us a year before we completely trusted each other. But we found a friend in each other, comfort and eventually, we fell in love." He took Raven's hand and she began to blush. What was he up to?
"I told you the best was saved for last …and here comes it." Beast boy said. He took a deep breath and knelt on one knee. Raven gasped and so did some girls in the crowd.
"Raven, when we first met we didn't really started on the right foot. We fought …a lot, we didn't trust each other fully. But eventually we warmed up to each other and fell in love. But we both know we can't stay 'just boyfriend-girlfriend' forever and I want to spent forever with you by my side."
Tears began to well up in Raven's eyes. A great silence fell over the crowd. The big question came.
"Raven Roth…" Beast Boy began. He took a black box out of his pocket.
"Gar?" Raven whispered.
He opened the box, revealing the blue sapphired ring "Will you marry me?"
"YES!" Raven cheered. "Oh, god, yes, Gar."
Beast Boy slipped the ring on her finger, under a great applause and loud cheering of everyone in the room, including the three other titans on the podium. The two engaged lovers fell in each other's arms and kissed.
Every Titan in the room came to Beast Boy and Raven to congratulates them. Raven had smiled longer than she had ever done in her entire life. She was completely happy right now. It was a good thing that her emotions didn't cause her powers to go haywire anymore or the whole country would be out of electricity. After all that had passed it was time for the three closest friends of the couple to congratulate.
Starfire hugged Raven, almost to the point that bones could shatter. "I'm so glad for you, Raven." She said, tears in her eyes. "You deserve this."
"Thank you, Kory." Raven said, also with tears in her eyes. "I'm still trying to figure out if I'm not dreaming."
"You're not, little sis." Cyborg said, ALSO with tears in the only organic eye.
"You knew about this, didn't you." Robin smirked.
"I kinda helped him hiding the box for him and preparing him for the grand moment." Cyborg said, patting his green friend against the ground …again. "But I never expected that speech, BB."
"Neither did I." Beast Boy smiled. "I said that I didn't prepare it, din't I. It came all from the heart."
"And a grand heart it is." A voice said.
The Titans turned around and saw Red X, still wearing his mask yet with a formal black suit, approaching, with hooked on his arm, dressed in a sparkling yellow dress, a brightly smiling Starblast.
"Congrats, lad and lass." Starblast said, giving each one a great hug. "You had the same idea as Nathan here."
"Did you finally propose then?" Cyborg asked.
"I did." Red X said. "A week ago. But it wasn't as spectacular as yours, BB."
"So, when is the great day?" Robin asked.
"Soon." Red X said. "I don't know why, but I want to marry her as soon as possible."
"Want to get it over with?" Beast Boy joked.
"No, not that." Red X said, giving Beast Boy a friendly push. "I just have the feeling that something bad will happen soon."
"We're super heroes, X." Raven said. "Something bad happens all the time."
"Except today." Starblast said. "Today, nothing can go wrong."
Far away from the current happiest place on earth, came a council together. A council of five people. They sat in a dark room. The Commander sat in the middle of a half-circular table, at the highest point of the table, with two other people on each side of him. In front of the table was a holographic projector that showed plans and notes.
"Commander, all is prepared." A man, wearing a monocle, said, pointing at the holographic images. "We can start the operation today, if commanded."
"No. we start in three days, like planned." The man with the metal mask and the deep metallic voice said.
The woman, sitting in the seat next of the Commander, took his hand. "is this wise, Commander?" she asked. "If our ancestors didn't attack when they had the change, why do we strike now?"
"Because, my dear Vega, this is our time." The Commander said, standing up and pushing a button on his wrist. Immediately the holographic projector showed images of recent wars, battles, and more. "This world is out of order. We need a cleansing Chaos to bring it back to its former glory. Under OUR rule, this world will know peace again."
"We all agree with that, sire." Councilor Dex, the man with the monocle, said. "But what about …rebellious actions?"
"Such as?" The commander asked. His cold voice brought chills to everyone in the room.
"The Justice League, Superman, the green lanterns of Earth and many others." Couniclor Razz said. "I know that our troops are trained and more than capable to fight them, but those people can cause serious delay in the schedule."
"They won't." The commander simply said. "We will be victorious. And no hero, nor villain will stop us. We will cleanse this world with Chaos."
The Commander stood up. "NO-ONE WILL STOP US!" he yelled. "HAIL THE CHAOS LEGION!"
The four others also stood up and saluted the Commander. "HAIL THE CHAOS LEGION AND HAIL TO IT'S COMMANDER!"
