"El Tigre." A voice called out as Manny began to wake up he looks around and sees himself in the doctor's office.
"Where am I?" Manny asked.
"You're in good hands." A voice answered.
"Are you a doctor?" Manny asked.
"Well Doctor, barber and Veterinarian." He said. "I'm only taking those last two jobs until we find some replacements."
"Uh, okay." Manny replied, a little weirded out. "Does my family know I'm in the hospital?"
"As a matter of fact, they're outside the room right now." The Doctor said.
"Oh great they know about me sneaking out!" Manny said.
"You might say that." The Doctor said.
Just then, the door immediately opened up and Rodolfo, Grandpapi and Maria walked in.
"Manuel Pablo Gutierrez O'Brian Equihua Rivera! What were you thinking throwing a party hat the Minister's mansion?!" Rodolfo asked.
"I just… wanted to have a party with my fans?" Manny said with a nervous smile.
"Wait you have fans?" Grandpapi asked.
"Yeah, people really like me." Manny answered. "Just not a lot."
"We also heard you got into a fight with El Mal Verde." Maria said with her arms crossed.
"I did. But I totally kicked his butt." Manny said.
"There's more to that Mr. And Mrs. Rivera. Your son has," The Doctor said as he tried to find the right words to finish his sentence. "Died."
Manny and his family were left speechless after hearing this.
"Doctor, please." Manny said before he smirked casually. "Relax, I'm a Rivera! We're not afraid of death, at all!"
"It's true. A Rivera is never scared of anything." Grandpapi admitted.
"And in case you never knew, Doctor, we're all born with nine lives." Manny said as he put his jacket and belt back on. "Kinda like every type of cat in the world."
"If I last recall, Rodolfo died five times when I still lived with him and Manny." Maria said. "That means he last four more lives."
"Indeed I do, Maria." Rodolfo agreed with a smile.
"As for me, I'd say that I've got two more lives." Grandpapi said. "That means I get to live two more lives of evil."
"And how many times have you died already, Manny?" The doctor asked curiously.
"Um I'm not really sure, I'm not much of a math guy." Manny said as he shrugged.
"Can you at least remember the times you've died, mijo?" Maria asked.
"Let's see there was the running of the bulls." Manny began.
Mel Tigre is running from some bulls until he sees a pretty teenage girl. "Hola." El Tigre greeted with a smile right before a bull tramples El Tigre down.
Next, El Tigre was seen having a game of Poker as he laid out five Ace cards.
"Hehe. Guess it's not your night, Huh fellas?" El Tigre asked smugly.
The other Poker players revealed to be Voltura, Dr. chipotle Sr, Senor Sinestro and El Olso. They all glared at El Tigre and attacked him.
In a third flashback, El Tigre was standing ontop of the Miracle City volcano with a cup of root beer in his hand and was looking a little drunk.
"I'm telling you! A tiger always lands on it's feet like a cat!" El Tigre shouted with a goofy smile. "Watch!"
El Tigre fell off of the Miracle City volcano at an extreme height and fell to the ground a lot with his mug.
Flashback to the gym where El Tigre is at the gym about to do a max bench with heavy weights. "No I don't need a spotter. I can't do this on my own. Watch!" El Tigre says to the weight lifter and lifted the weights, but the weight crushed him in the process.
The next flashback showed El Tigre inside of a cannonball cannon.
"This will be so cool if I was fired out of a cannon." El Tigre said. "Fire away!" Someone lights up the cannon and shoots El Tigre out of it.
Unfortunately, the explosion from the shooting area only ended up scorching him.
Flashback to El Tigre sitting in a Pizza restaurant and holding a slice as a waitress walked by.
"Uh, excuse me? Does this have black olives on it?" El Tigre asked as he revealed his face to be very bloated.
"Yes it does, young man." The waitress answered.
El Tigre shrugs and he was about to take another bite.
Flashback to El Tigre and Frida who are baking cookies. "Manny, you set the oven too high!" Frida exclaimed.
"Relax I'm a master of baking." El Tigre said as he held up his hands in oven mitts. "Watch!" El Tigre opens the oven and a huge flame engulfs him right when Frida dodges the flames.
The flashbacks end and the scene returns to the here and now.
"And then there was El Mal Verde, today." Manny said. "So what is that? Like a… a four?"
The rest of the Rivera family were shocked and horrified for some reason but the doctor said what they were all thinking. "Manny, you're down to your last life." said the Doctor.
"Wait, I am?" Manny asked in surprise.
"Yes, you are! How could you have burned through all of your lives in such a young state?!" Rodolfo questioned frantically.
"I recommend you give up your powers. No more superhero or supervillain business for the remainder of your life. Just be a normal kid." The Doctor said as he wrote a note and handed it to El Tigre.
"Be a normal kid for the rest of my last life?!" Manny asked in disbelief. "No way! A Rivera never quits! Heck, my Grandpapi is supposed to be retired and he still does supervillain things!"
"It's true." Grandpapi said.
"Manny, I really think you should hang up your belt." Maria said, concerned. "I don't want you to end up recklessly wasting your last life and I'm not there for you."
"That's never gonna happen Mom! I'm not giving my life as El Tigre and I'm gonna keep doing the good/bad stuff I like!" Manny stated as he jumped from the medical bed. "I'm supposed to be Miracle City's best hero and villain!"
"Not anymore. Doctor's orders." The Doctor replied. "It's for your own good."
"You can go and explore the city for a bit with Frida. When you come home, we're going to discuss your retirement." Rodolfo said.
"Whatever." Manny muttered.
"And remember, Manny, Death comes for us all." The Doctor said before he pulled out a red lollipop for the young Rivera boy. "Lollipop?"
"You need to work on your bedside manners Doc." Manny snapped as he took the lollipop from his hands and left the doctor's office.
"That boy will never change." Rodolfo muttered while shaking his head.
"No, he won't." Maria agreed.
"I can always change him to be completely evil." Grandpapi said, earning a pair of looks from the divorced couple. "You two never agree with me."
Manny was later seen walking through the streets with Frida.
"I'm serious, Frida! They're all telling me to retire!" Manny said frustratingly.
"You retire? We survived dangerous stuff all the time and we got lucky. Who knows maybe you'll have a lucky shield or something." Frida said.
"I'm no Captain America, Frida." Manny replied. "Besides, Rivera's never quit doing what they love doing. And I'm never gonna quit being El Tigre. I'd never get to have fun beating up all my enemies like El Oso, Black Cuervo or even Sartana."
"Yeah seeing you beat those guys is always fun to watch." Frida replied.
"Thanks. I can always count on you to support me." Manny said.
"No problem, Manny." Frida replied. "Anyway, I'm gonna go okay some arcade games. What about you?"
"I'm gonna get something to drink at the milkshake bar. I'll see you later, then?" Manny asked.
"Sure, dude. Just make sure you buy me a milkshake when you've finished yours." Frida said.
Manny walks up to the bar and placed his money on the counter. "Chocolate milkshake." Manny said.
"Coming right up." The man behind the counter said.
He made a chocolate milkshake and Manny got it from him.
"I can't believe my own family wants me to retire just because I'm down to my last life." Manny scoffed. "They just don't get how awesome I am."
"That's insane kid. Anything else you want or are you just gonna hold up my line," The man behind the counter asked,
"I'll just find myself a private room." Manny said before he walked off.
He later found himself a private room that had a good amount of space and a few tables in it. Manny sat on one of the larger tables and looked at himself in a nearby mirror.
"Heh, retire. Like that's ever gonna happen." Manny said.
Manny began drinking his chocolate milkshake, but then he started hearing some creepy whistling.
Manny looked to his right and sees an adult with pale skin, shaggy white hair, wearing a black poncho. "You must be the great El Tigre. I've heard alot of you and your family." The man said as he placed a wanted poster in front of Manny. "Say what don't you sign it. Right here." He pointed at the word dead on the wanted poster.
Manny only chuckled lightly in response.
"El Tigre laughs in the face of death. Bounty Hunter." Manny replied.
"So I've heard." The Bounty Hunter said as he took off his hood to reveal his blood red eyes.
"I hate to tell you, but I'm not going to make your reward easy to get." Manny said as he stood on his chair. "This I swear."
The Bounty Hunter was unamused and simply grabbed a small drink.
"Everyone thinks they'll be the one to defeat me." He said. "But no one's escaped me yet."
"Well I hate to break it to you. But I'm gonna end that streak." Manny chuckled
He then spun his belt and transformed into El Tigre with a tiger's roar, showing his claws to the Bounty Hunter.
"Alright, tough guy, face the might of El Tig-!" El Tigre said before he was suddenly cut off from the Bounty Hunter using a sickle to knock away all of his claw nails.
El Tigre was silent for a moment before frowning blackly and slowly backing away from the Bounty Hunter. He grabbed all of his claw nails and placed them back onto his gloves.
"You just got lucky." El Tigre said right when he fired his chain hand for a chain punch, but the Bounty Hunter deflects the punch and then runs up to El Tigre and knees him in the chest.
El Tigre growled frustratingly before he rushed up to the Bounty Hunter and swiped his claws at him.
"Slow! Sloppy! Sad!" The Bounty Hunter mocked while avoiding all the strikes.
When El Tigre tried to slash him again, the Bounty Hunter pulled out his two sickles and blocked him with an evil chuckle.
"What's wrong El Tigre?" The Bounty Hunter smirked as he slowly walked up to El Tigre while dragging his sickles. "Life's flashing before your eyes."
El Tigre tried to push back against the Bounty Hunter, but he suddenly grabbed him by the throat and dragged him across the table. The Rivera boy got thrown into a chair before he saw the Bounty Hunter attacking him with his sickles.
He quickly jumped off the table and avoided the sickles, only for the Bounty Hunter to quickly start striking back at him. El Tigre did his best to block the sickles with his claws, but then one managed to blow him back and it barely grazed his forehead. This also caused his two gloves to fly off and land on the floor, leaving El Tigre's bare hands exposed.
El Tigre then started breathing heavily as a drop of blood fell down his forehead. He touched the drop and saw a stain of blood on his hand, making him feel very scared.
"Am I… afraid?" El Tigre asked himself nervously.
The Bounty Hunter sniffed and he sighed pleasantly.
"I just love the smell of fear!" He stated.
El Tigre was beginning to breathe heavily as he looked at his hands on the floor. "Pick them up." The Bounty Hunter said. El Tigre didn't replied as his heart started beating at full speed. "Pick them up!" The Bounty Hunter repeated but with a raised voice.
After a few more seconds of heavy breathing, El Tigre scampered off the floor on fear and locked himself up in a nearby bathroom.
The Bounty Hunter smirked devilishly and chuckled before placing on a black scarf mask. He whistled eerily and approached the bathroom as El Tigre quickly locked himself in.
El Tigre looked around frantically and noticed that there wasn't any windows for him to escape through. Just then, he saw the Bounty Hunter's shadow appearing from underneath the door and then gasped fearfully at seeing one of his sickles moving through the side gap over the lock. The sickle then swiftly chopped off the lock and the Bounty Hunter opened the door, only to see that El Tigre had vanished.
He looked towards the toilet and noticed that the water was swirling a bit, meaning that El Tigre had escaped through it.
"Run while you can, Gato." The Bounty Hunter said.
In the middle of the streets, El Tigre kicked off a manhole and quickly crawled out of it while breathing heavily.
"I nearly died." El Tigre said. It started to rain as El Tigre gets back up and decided to walk the street in the rain.
"I… I wasn't El Tigre today." El Tigre said shamefully. "I was a… coward."
After what he had just experience with the super scary Bounty Hunter, El Tigre has realised that being stuck on his last life has left him completely vulnerable. His family was right. It is time for him to give up his powers.
"Only one thing left for me to do, now." El Tigre said before walking his way back home.
