On the day before the long-awaited Promised Day, Alphonse Elric hid in a train yard outside the Eastern training grounds. However, the Homunculi Gluttony and Pride surprised him with an ambush. Defenseless against their attack, Alphonse is captured.

"Alphonse...it's time to wake up Alphonse."Al stirred a bit as he asked, "Who are you?" "...it's too soon for you to die." The voice stated as it reached a hand and touched his helmet. "We aren't done you yet..." the hand suddenly turned into a black mass."...there's so much work we have in store for you."

~Kanama~

"Excuse me, is this place called 'Kanama'?" a man that was working looked up to find a group of people.

Hohenheim sat by a fire roasting something until a voice said, "Mr. Ho, you've got some company." Hohenheim glanced over his shoulder as his eyes met with his son, Edward. Hohenheim placed his food down as he stood. "Edward...I didn't think-" He was suddenly cut off by Ed punching him in the face. "That felt good." Ed stated as Aaliyah sweat dropped muttering, "Oh Edward..."

"Ahh...you could've at least warned me that you were about to slug me!" Hohenheim exclaimed from his place on theground. "...and with your metal hand to!" "Hmph." Ed turned away as Hohenheim stood. "I see you've made a new group of-friends..." After being in pain, Hohenheim got to talking to the group. "We're not—" "Its more like we'll in the same sinking ship." Heinkel stated as Greeling pointed to himself, "That's right and I guess you can say I'm the captain of that ship." "So you're the one in charge?" Hohenheim asked as he slouched a bit. "...then I'd like to thank you for looking over my son and Aaliyah." Ed's eyeswidened at that as Ally roll her eyes. "Sure, but you do know they can be real pain in the asses." "HEY!!" they both exclaimed.

"That's an interesting tattoo..." Hohenheim pondered while looking to Greeling's hand. "Yeah...so you noticed." He lifted hishand with a grin and said, "i guess there's no point in hiding it...but let's make this honesty thing mutual, pops." Hohenheimglanced over to Ed and Ally who were looking at him. "Look, we need to talk...the Promised Day is tomorrow." Ed stated asHohenheim said, "...fair enough. I'll tell you everything."

It was night time and the group was sitting around the fire. Hohenheim had just finished his story and everyone was silent. Ed clenched his fist and held onto his head as Hohenheim said, "I was worried this would this might be more difficult for to accept than it was for Alphonse." "Wait, you told Al about this?" Ally asked. "I did...I'm sure he has his own thoughts on the matter...but he accepted it nonetheless..." Hohenheim then glanced to Ed and Ally as he said, "If you want to use me to get your bodies backthen you can." Ed quickly stood as he shouted, "Are you crazy?! Maybe you are a living Philosopher's stone but I'm not goingto sacrifice living souls! It's our fault we lost our bodies!"

Hohenheim's face turned into a smile as he said, "I'm proud my son feels that way..." He then became serious. "There will be asolar eclipse tomorrow...he plans to harvest it for his scheme." "So that's his plan?" Ally asked. "Listen Edward, Aaliyah...he mustbe stopped at all cost. I'll need you two to help me." "Help you?! Now look here, I'm going to stop that bearded bastard butI'm not doing it to help you! Our best chance is to team up and that's the only reason I'm talking to you right now!" Everyone'sfaces held a smile as Ed stormed off. "Edward!" Aaliyah called as she then glanced to Hohenheim. "That's fine with me...it doesn'tmatter what the reasoning is as long as you'll fight alongside me..." Hohenheim's lips turned into a smile once more. Edsuddenly stopped as everyone continued on.

"Granny asked me to give you Mom's final words..." Hohenheim looked to Edward with a questioning gaze as he continued,"...sorry I couldn't keep my promise...but I'm dying first." Hohenheim's eyes widened as Aaliyah gasped. "So there! I told you!" Edexclaimed as he turned around, only to find Hohenheim crying as he looked toward the sky. "Edward! You see the poor man is tears...*sigh*" Ally said as she drag Ed away.

Ed, Ally, Darius and Heinkel stood at a booth eating as Heinkel said, "You know Ed, you should try being nicer to your Father.""You could've at least referred to him as Dad." Darius stated as Ed ignored them and continued eating. "It sounds like you'vehad a rough past with him...but he doesn't strike me as the type to abandon his wife, you know?" "The guy must have had hisreasons so why don't you give him a chance to explain-" Ed suddenly blew up. "SHUT UP! DON'T YOU EVER THINK I'VE GOT MYREASONS?!" "Oh yeah? What?" Heinkel asked. "You're just stubbornly holding a grudge." Darius confirmed."Hm, such a whirlwind of emotions..." Greeling stated as he leaned against the bar. "I can see why though...the guy is awalking, talking Philosopher's Stone. To make matters worse, he's your Father." "...There's more to it than that...it's just...notwhat I was expecting."

Hohenheim sat by the fire as he remembered Trisha's words."...someday, I too, will be a wrinkled old monster. So today, we're going to take this picture so I can remember us all smiling. Nomatter what, we're always a family." "Trisha, I'm going away. Will you wait for me?" She stayed silent with a solemn look causing Hohenheim to turn his head away,worried. "Of course...I'll be right here waiting." She stated with a smile.Hohenheim glanced down to the photo of his family as he said, "I'm sorry Trisha...I couldn't keep my promise. You passed awayso early...you knew I was unable to die and grow old with you...but you always believed I would come back. I should havebeen beside you, my love." He then looked toward the sky as he said, "Tomorrow, Trisha..."

"Here you go." A woman stated as she handed over a blue and red fabric. "Thank you Mam." Ed and Aaliyah stated as theytook the fabric and walked over toward a nearby barrel. "And what exactly is that for?" Greeling asked. The two set themdown and glanced to each other before clapping their hands and touching the fabric. The fabric shifted into their old jackets."Whoa..." Darius trailed off as Heinkel said, "Come on, what's wrong with what you're wearing now?" "It doesn't seem flashy toyou?" Greeling asked. "There's a pretty good chance this will be the last battle we fight..." Ed trailed off as Aaliyah said, "...wedecided we'd do it in style.

The group began walking away from town and through the woods as Ed started, "Listen guys, you don't have to tag along withus, you know? I'm thinking it'd be better for you to go your own way before things get too serious." "Hey pal, that's not yourcall...I'm the one in charge." Greed smirked. "I mean, if it's just to try and get your old bodies back..." "That's not it." Heinkelstated as Darius continued, "These bodies do have their perks...to be honest, I wouldn't mind staying like this." "Yeah, nowthat's the spirit!" Greed chuckled.

"So why stick with us?" Ally asked. "Well, why wouldn't we? It's not like we have anything better to do." Heinkel stated,scratching his head. "...that and my animal instincts are saying something's going to happen. So we'll stick with you." Darius finished. "Oh..." Ed trailed off as he glanced to Greed. "So, what's your excuse? You planning to get even with the otherHomunculi for what they did to your friends?"

"Are you asking why I decided to return to Central?" Greed grinned back at Edand Ally as he said, "I'm not telling you.""Hey what's the hold up?" Ed asked as Heinkel stopped. They soon heard metal like footsteps and turned to find a familiar suitof armor walking from the trees. "It's Al!" Ally happily stated as Ed and she ran up to him. "We haven't seen you in years! Howyou been, Al?" Ed asked. "I'm glad you're okay Ally, brother." Al spoke. Ally suddenly realized something and raised a eyebrow and asked, "Hey Al, Ithought you were with Major Miles in the Eastern area? Nothing bad happened, right?"

Greed's eyes widened as Al said, "That's actually why I'm here...we need to talk." "Um...sure." Al began to turn around andwalk away as Ed asked, "Are you sure you're feeling alright, Al?" Al stopped as Greed couldn't shake the feeling he had."What do you mean?" Al asked. "Well, you seem a little-" "Ed, Ally!" the two turned ask Ally asked, "Ling?"

"Get away from him!" Ling exclaimed. He began holding his face, as if in pain, as he continued, "That's not...he's a..." Al clenched his fist as black shadows started to flow out of him. Ed and Ally slowly turned, only to find black shadows shooting out. Everyone managed to not get hit as they retreated back. "What the hell was that?!" Ed exclaimed. "I see that you're working with them now...huh Greed?" Al turned his helmet back as the black shadows began to flow once more. Ally's eyes widened as she thought, 'That voice...it's not Al's...but it sounds like...' Al turned around as he said, "How pathetic you share your consciousness with a human...Your soul couldn't be any weaker!" Millions of eyes appeared throughout Al's body.

~ Amertis/East~

"The Furher's remains haven't turned up yet?" Miles questioned as they looked at rubble of the train tracks. "So far, they've only found one of his subordinates bodies washed up downriver." Grumman replied. "It would take some kind of miracle to live through that..."Miles trailed off, "I'd like the cooperation of the northern forces...but I intend to oversee the rest of the search." Miles glanced at Grumman, "You're gonna personally direct it?"

"I won't be able to comfortably sleep at night until I see his corpse with my own eyes." He said as he still glanced at the crash. "And what about the plan, sir? Aren't you going to proceed to Central?" Miles asked. "I don't seem to have much a choice. I suppose I'll just have to let Colonel Mustang have the bigger slice of Central pie." As he stroking his beard.

'Bradley's current administration will still be properly functioning at this point in time. If Colonel Mustang or General Armstrong try to make their move now, every soldier in Central will be order to retrieve their treasonous heads. And once they're captured... I'll step in to restore order. They'll take the far as enemies of the state... while General Grumman will heroically come riding in on a white horse. I'll let the youngsters dive headfirst into danger and do all the dirty work... and then I'll take my rightful place as leader of this country without any risk.' Grumman thought to himself. 'It wouldn't surprise me if that's what the sly old fox is plotting.' As Miles was looking at the sky then looked down, 'We may have joined forces to prepare for the Promised Day... but I'll withdraw my trust until it's passed.'

~Amestris/ Outside Kanama~

As the group are cautious looking at Pride possessing Alphonse's body.

"That's not..." Ed trailed off as Greeling was covering his face. "It's Pride." "You don't mean that—" Ed started as Greeling cut him off. "Yeah...that's my brother... my oldest brother, I guess you'd say." As Ed gasped. "A Homunculus..." As Aaliyah glared at Pride. "So, you've made up your mind to the betray us no matter what, Greed. Which makes you nothing more than an annoyance to us at this point."

"Damn it... how did you even know where I was here?" Greed asked.

"How dare you disguise yourself as my brother?!" Ed exclaimed angrily. " who said this was a disguise?" Pride spoke as he lifts up Al's helmet and showing blood seal. "This is, without a doubt, your brother's actual body."

"You bastard!" Ed spat as Pride placed the helmet back down. "First things first...I must take care of Greed..." His glowing eyesthen traveled toward Kaori as he continued, "...then Aaliyah." Aaliyah's brows furrowed as Ed stepped in front of her protectively. "...but first, Blue Flame, Fullmetal, I'll need you to come withme."

"Heinkel, you guys should-" Ed started as he turned only to go wide eyed. Heinkel and Darius had already begun hiding. "You sure don't waste any time!" Ed angrily exclaimed as Darius spoke up."Our animal instincts say we should stay the hell away from that thing." "It'd probably be smart for you two to run." Heinkelfinished. Ally raised her clenched fist as she spoke with a grin, "Don't worry, we'll be fine! They do need us for their plans so they can't kill us." "You're right...I must take you alive...but if I slice off a few of your limbs in the process..." Pride aimed his shadows right at Ed and Ally who quickly split up and dodged, "...then so be it."Ally continued running toward the left, dodging each shadow that was sent her way.

'We have to keep him away from the slums...' She thought, only to find more shadows aimed right at her. She quickly rolled out of the way, only to watch the groundwhere she recently stood, torn to shreds.'That was too close!' Aaliyah panicked as she heard Pride speak up. "I've got your friend, Fullmetal, Blue Flame...are you ready to give up? You won't make me threaten the lives of the slum dwellers as well, are you?" Ally's eyes slightly widened.

"True to form...he always goes for the cheap shot to get what he wants..." Greeling growled out as Pride called more shadows. Aaliyah slowly backed away as the hands began to close in on her. 'What do we do...?' "You know...I think it's about time I startedwinning some of these fights!" Ed shouted as he clapped his hands and touched the ground, causing a blue alchemic light toform.Soon, the lights from Kaname died out...and so did the shadows. The area was filled with silence. 'Great job Ed...now we can't see a thing...' Aaliyah mentally sighed

~A few feet away~

'...it won't be long before the slums lights are back up.' Pride thought as he heard something from behind. Before he could turn, something had slashed at his back.After the first swipe, Pride quickly jumped, only to be slashed across the back once more. "You're not getting away!" "you've got some nerves to attack a small child without even flinches..." Pride commented. Heinkel attacked him once more as he exclaimed, "You're no child! I know what you really are...and my animal instincts aretelling me to kill you before you kill me!"

~Back to the group~

"Ed...are you there?" Aaliyah asked, taking careful steps with her arms outstretched, trying to feel around."Ally, I'm right here." Ally heard Ed say from nearby. She turned toward her left, only to feel something grope her chest.

"Uh..." Ed trailed off as Ally clenched her fist, smacking Ed to the ground. "This is no time to be messing around Ed!" "Ed, Ally?" Darius voice spoke up. "Over...here..." Ed muttered in pain."Where's your brother?" "Al...he's still in the same spot as earlier...you'd be able to hear his bodies movements is he happenedto move." Ally explained."Then we should use this time to get out of here." "I'm not leaving him!" Ed exclaimed.

"I know you're worried but what if wegot any closer and he attacks?" Darius questioned. Ed clenched his fist as Darius continued, "We must stick close until Heinkel finishes with Pride."The three had begun walking, as Ed asked, "So those sounds are the lion guy fighting?" "It's best to leave this type of battling tothe experts." Darius spoke.As they reached their destination, Darius's steps ceased. "What is it?" Ally asked as she suddenly felt something pull on her."Get down!" Ally felt a rush of air pass right next to her as her body hit the ground. A few moments later, the sound of a tree crashing was heard as a familiar voice spoke.

"I smell you Fullmetal and Blue Flame...oh and Greed!" It sounded as if he were chewing something. "Of course he'd bring Gluttony." Greeling spoke as Ed asked, "That slob?" "Yeah...it all makes sense. He used Gluttony's sense of smell to track us." Gluttony smelt the air. "...I also smell someone I've never smelt before...and he smells tasty!" He began walking toward thegroup.Greeling smirked as he rested a hand onto Darius's shoulder. "It's all you! Oh and by the way, he's a Homunculus." Darius's eyes widened slightly, "You expect me to fight something like that?"

"He is relying on his scene of smell for guidance so you two should be evenly matched." As if proving his point, a loud thud washeard as the ground slightly shook."My animal instincts are calling me an idiot for listening to you...so I guess I'm an idiot!" Darius quickly transformed as hecharged forward. "The first strike is mine!"He had charged forward and managed to kick, head-butt and thrown Gluttony into the air. "Now for the final blow!" Darius swing his fist and landed a hit...on Ed.

"Mr. Gorilla...weren't we sticking close...to avoid attacking...each other...?" Ed cried through pants as he held onto hisstomach in pain. "Sorry..." Darius scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. Aaliyah stood as she sighed. 'If this keeps up, we'll only manage hurting each other...' "What is it Ling?" Ally heard Greeling mutter. Before she could question him, she felt something grab hold of her waist, pulling her into a firm hold. Before she could blink, thearea was filled by red crackling lights. It was then Ally knew who had grabbed her. "G-Greed?" Instead of answering her, she was turned around as a thud was heard. "Nope! It's me~" A familiar voice sung. "I don't know which I'd rather..." Aaliyah sweat dropped.

"Ling?" Ed ran up to the two as Ling answered, "That's right!" He let go of Ally and took a fighting stance as Gluttony began to regenerate."You're making me mad...all I want to do is eat! Why won't you let me eat you?! I'm only getting hungrier!" Gluttony angrily exclaimed as he chest began opening up. "I'm going to swallow everything!""This is bad..." Darius muttered as Ed asked, "Bad? How bad?""It's coming this way..." Ling muttered as Ed and Ally both began to panic. "What's coming this way?!""I've felt this presence before..." "Will you freaks tell us what the hell is going on?!" Ed exclaimed as a rush of wind brushed right past them. There was the sounds of slicing and blood hitting the ground.

"Huh? What happened?" Aaliyah asked as a hand was placed atop of her head, pushing her down. "Stay down you two!"The sound of blood pouring out continue to feel the area as Ed asked, "Is something else out there?" "I'm not sure but I think..." Ling trailed off as a grin spread across his lips. "...it is!" Suddenly, Gluttony's body was erupted in red sparks, revealing the person who attacked him.Ling took a step forward as he said, "I'm glad to see you're okay...about time you found me...Lan Fan." The person turned around only to reveal a mask covered by a hood.
